Sura al-Ḥijr 15:52

إِذْ دَخَلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُوا۟ سَلَٰمًا قَالَ إِنَّا مِنكُمْ وَجِلُونَ

idh dakhalū ʿalayhi fa-qālū salāman qalā innā minkum wajilūna

When they entered his presence and said, "Peace!" He said, "We feel afraid of you!"

Sura al-Ḥijr 15:53

قَالُوا۟ لَا تَوْجَلْ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَٰمٍ عَلِيمٍ

qālū lā tawjal innā nubashshiruka bi-ghulāmin ʿalīmin

They said: "Fear not! We give thee glad tidings of a son endowed with wisdom."

Sura al-Ḥijr 15:54

قَالَ أَبَشَّرْتُمُونِى عَلَىٰٓ أَن مَّسَّنِىَ ٱلْكِبَرُ فَبِمَ تُبَشِّرُونَ

qalā a-bashshartumūnī ʿala an massanīa l-kibaru fabima tubashshirūna

He said: "Do ye give me glad tidings that old age has seized me? Of what, then, is your good news?"

Sura al-Ḥijr 15:55

قَالُوا۟ بَشَّرْنَٰكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ فَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْقَٰنِطِينَ

qālū bashsharnāka bil-ḥaqqi fa-lā takun mina l-qāniṭīna

They said: "We give thee glad tidings in truth: be not then in despair!"

Sura al-Ḥijr 15:56

قَالَ وَمَن يَقْنَطُ مِن رَّحْمَةِ رَبِّهِۦٓ إِلَّا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ

qalā wa-man yaqnaṭu min rraḥmati rabbihi illā l-ḍāllūna

He said: "And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord, but such as go astray?"

Sura al-Ḥijr 15:57

قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ

qalā fa-mā khaṭbukum ayyuhā l-mursalūna

Abraham said: "What then is the business on which ye (have come), O ye messengers (of Allah)?"

Sura al-Ḥijr 15:58

قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّآ أُرْسِلْنَآ إِلَىٰ قَوْمٍ مُّجْرِمِينَ

qālū innā ursilnā ilā qawmin mujrimīna

They said: "We have been sent to a people (deep) in sin,
