Sura al-Nūr 24:15

إِذْ تَلَقَّوْنَهُۥ بِأَلْسِنَتِكُمْ وَتَقُولُونَ بِأَفْوَاهِكُم مَّا لَيْسَ لَكُم بِهِۦ عِلْمٌ وَتَحْسَبُونَهُۥ هَيِّنًا وَهُوَ عِندَ ٱللَّـهِ عَظِيمٌ

idh talaqqawnahu bi-alsinatikum wa-taqūlūna bi-afwāhikum mā laysa la-kum bihi ʿilmun wa-taḥsabūnahu hayyinan wa-huwa ʿinda allāhi ʿaẓīmun

Behold, ye received it on your tongues, and said out of your mouths things of which ye had no knowledge; and ye thought it to be a light matter, while it was most serious in the sight of Allah.

Sura al-Nūr 24:16

وَلَوْلَآ إِذْ سَمِعْتُمُوهُ قُلْتُم مَّا يَكُونُ لَنَآ أَن نَّتَكَلَّمَ بِهَٰذَا سُبْحَٰنَكَ هَٰذَا بُهْتَٰنٌ عَظِيمٌ

wa-lawlā idh samiʿtumūhu qultum mā yakūnu lanā an nnatakallama bi-hādhā subḥānaka hādhā buhtānun ʿaẓīmun

And why did ye not, when ye heard it, say? - "It is not right of us to speak of this: Glory to Allah! this is a most serious slander!"

Sura al-Nūr 24:17

يَعِظُكُمُ ٱللَّـهُ أَن تَعُودُوا۟ لِمِثْلِهِۦٓ أَبَدًا إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

yaʿiẓukumu allāhu an taʿūdū limithlihi abadan in kuntum muʾminīna

Allah doth admonish you, that ye may never repeat such (conduct), if ye are (true) Believers.

Sura al-Nūr 24:18

وَيُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّـهُ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَيَٰتِ وَٱللَّـهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ

wa-yubayyinu allāhu lakumu l-ayāti wallāhu ʿalīmun ḥakīmun

And Allah makes the Signs plain to you: for Allah is full of knowledge and wisdom.

Sura al-Nūr 24:19

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُحِبُّونَ أَن تَشِيعَ ٱلْفَٰحِشَةُ فِى ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْأَخِرَةِ وَٱللَّـهُ يَعْلَمُ وَأَنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ

inna lladhīna yuḥibbūna an tashīʿa l-fāḥishatu fī lladhīna āmanū lahum ʿadhābun alīmun fī l-dunyā wa-l-akhirati wallāhu yaʿlamu wa-antum lā taʿlamūna

Those who love (to see) scandal published broadcast among the Believers, will have a grievous Penalty in this life and in the Hereafter: Allah knows, and ye know not.

Sura al-Nūr 24:20

وَلَوْلَا فَضْلُ ٱللَّـهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَتُهُۥ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّـهَ رَءُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ

wa-lawlā faḍlu allāhi ʿalaykum wa-raḥmatuhu wa-anna allāha raʾūfun raḥīmun

Were it not for the grace and mercy of Allah on you, and that Allah is full of kindness and mercy, (ye would be ruined indeed).

Sura al-Nūr 24:21

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَتَّبِعُوا۟ خُطُوَٰتِ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ وَمَن يَتَّبِعْ خُطُوَٰتِ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ فَإِنَّهُۥ يَأْمُرُ بِٱلْفَحْشَآءِ وَٱلْمُنكَرِ وَلَوْلَا فَضْلُ ٱللَّـهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَتُهُۥ مَا زَكَىٰ مِنكُم مِّنْ أَحَدٍ أَبَدًا وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ يُزَكِّى مَن يَشَآءُ وَٱللَّـهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ

yā-ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū lā tattabiʿū khuṭuwāti l-shayṭāni wa-man yattabiʿ khuṭuwāti l-shayṭāni fa-innahu yaʾmuru bil-faḥshāʾi wa-l-munkari wa-lawlā faḍlu allāhi ʿalaykum wa-raḥmatuhu mā zaka minkum min aḥadin abadan wa-lākinna allāha yuzakkī man yashāʾu wallāhu samīʿun ʿalīmun

O ye who believe! follow not Satan's footsteps: if any will follow the footsteps of Satan, he will (but) command what is shameful and wrong: and were it not for the grace and mercy of Allah on you, not one of you would ever have been pure: but Allah doth purify whom He pleases: and Allah is One Who hears and knows (all things).
