Surah 25 al-Furqān (The Criterion)

(25:11)    | بَلْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِٱلسَّاعَةِ وَأَعْتَدْنَا لِمَن كَذَّبَ بِٱلسَّاعَةِ سَعِيرًا | bal kadhdhabū bil‑sāʿati wa‑aʿtadnā li‑man kadhdhaba bil‑sāʿati saʿīran | Nay they deny the hour (of the judgment to come): but We have
prepared a blazing fire for such as deny the hour:
Sura al-Furqān 25:11 بَلْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِٱلسَّاعَةِ وَأَعْتَدْنَا لِمَن كَذَّبَ بِٱلسَّاعَةِ سَعِيرًا bal kadhdhabū bil-sāʿati wa-aʿtadnā li-man kadhdhaba bil-sāʿati saʿīran Nay they deny the hour (of the judgment to come): but We have prepared a blazing fire for such as deny the hour: |
| (25:12) | إِذَا رَأَتْهُم مِّن مَّكَانٍۭ بَعِيدٍ سَمِعُوا۟ لَهَا تَغَيُّظًا وَزَفِيرًا | idhā raʾathum min makānin baʿīdin samiʿū lahā taghayyuẓan wa‑zafīran | When it sees them from a place fAr off, they will hear its
fury and its ranging sigh.
Sura al-Furqān 25:12 إِذَا رَأَتْهُم مِّن مَّكَانٍۭ بَعِيدٍ سَمِعُوا۟ لَهَا تَغَيُّظًا وَزَفِيرًا idhā raʾathum min makānin baʿīdin samiʿū lahā taghayyuẓan wa-zafīran When it sees them from a place fAr off, they will hear its fury and its ranging sigh. |
| (25:13) | وَإِذَآ أُلْقُوا۟ مِنْهَا مَكَانًا ضَيِّقًا مُّقَرَّنِينَ دَعَوْا۟ هُنَالِكَ ثُبُورًا | wa‑idhā ulqū minhā makānan ḍayyiqan muqarranīna daʿaw hunālika thubūran | And when they are cast, bound together into a constricted
place therein, they will pLead for destruction there and then!
Sura al-Furqān 25:13 وَإِذَآ أُلْقُوا۟ مِنْهَا مَكَانًا ضَيِّقًا مُّقَرَّنِينَ دَعَوْا۟ هُنَالِكَ ثُبُورًا wa-idhā ulqū minhā makānan ḍayyiqan muqarranīna daʿaw hunālika thubūran And when they are cast, bound together into a constricted place therein, they will pLead for destruction there and then! |
| (25:14) | لَّا تَدْعُوا۟ ٱلْيَوْمَ ثُبُورًا وَٰحِدًا وَٱدْعُوا۟ ثُبُورًا كَثِيرًا | lā tadʿū l‑yawma thubūran wāḥidan wa‑idʿū thubūran kathīran | "This day plead not for a single destruction: plead for
destruction oft-repeated!"
Sura al-Furqān 25:14 لَّا تَدْعُوا۟ ٱلْيَوْمَ ثُبُورًا وَٰحِدًا وَٱدْعُوا۟ ثُبُورًا كَثِيرًا lā tadʿū l-yawma thubūran wāḥidan wa-idʿū thubūran kathīran "This day plead not for a single destruction: plead for destruction oft-repeated!" |
| (25:15) | قُلْ أَذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ أَمْ جَنَّةُ ٱلْخُلْدِ ٱلَّتِى وُعِدَ ٱلْمُتَّقُونَ كَانَتْ لَهُمْ جَزَآءً وَمَصِيرًا | qul a‑dhālika khayrun am jannatu l‑khuldi allatī wuʿida l‑muttaqūna kānat lahum jazāʾan wa‑maṣīran | Say: "Is that best, or the eternal garden, promised to the
righteous? for them, that is a reward as well as a goal (of attainment).
Sura al-Furqān 25:15 قُلْ أَذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ أَمْ جَنَّةُ ٱلْخُلْدِ ٱلَّتِى وُعِدَ ٱلْمُتَّقُونَ كَانَتْ لَهُمْ جَزَآءً وَمَصِيرًا qul a-dhālika khayrun am jannatu l-khuldi allatī wuʿida l-muttaqūna kānat lahum jazāʾan wa-maṣīran Say: "Is that best, or the eternal garden, promised to the righteous? for them, that is a reward as well as a goal (of attainment). |
| (25:16) | لَّهُمْ فِيهَا مَا يَشَآءُونَ خَٰلِدِينَ كَانَ عَلَىٰ رَبِّكَ وَعْدًا مَّسْـُٔولًا | lahum fīhā mā yashāʾūna khālidīna kāna ʿalā rabbika waʿdan masūlan | "For them there will be therein all that they wish for: they
will dwell (there) for aye: A promise to be prayed for from thy Lord."
Sura al-Furqān 25:16 لَّهُمْ فِيهَا مَا يَشَآءُونَ خَٰلِدِينَ كَانَ عَلَىٰ رَبِّكَ وَعْدًا مَّسْـُٔولًا lahum fīhā mā yashāʾūna khālidīna kāna ʿalā rabbika waʿdan masūlan "For them there will be therein all that they wish for: they will dwell (there) for aye: A promise to be prayed for from thy Lord." |
| (25:17) | وَيَوْمَ يَحْشُرُهُمْ وَمَا يَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّـهِ فَيَقُولُ ءَأَنتُمْ أَضْلَلْتُمْ عِبَادِى هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ أَمْ هُمْ ضَلُّوا۟ ٱلسَّبِيلَ | wa‑yawma yaḥshuruhum wa‑mā yaʿbudūna min dūni allāhi fa‑yaqūlu aʾantum aḍlaltum ʿibādī hāʾulāʾi am hum ḍallū l‑sabīla | The day He will gather them together as well as those whom
they worship besides Allah, He will ask: "Was it ye who let these My servants
astray, or did they stray from the Path themselves?"
Sura al-Furqān 25:17 وَيَوْمَ يَحْشُرُهُمْ وَمَا يَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّـهِ فَيَقُولُ ءَأَنتُمْ أَضْلَلْتُمْ عِبَادِى هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ أَمْ هُمْ ضَلُّوا۟ ٱلسَّبِيلَ wa-yawma yaḥshuruhum wa-mā yaʿbudūna min dūni allāhi fa-yaqūlu aʾantum aḍlaltum ʿibādī hāʾulāʾi am hum ḍallū l-sabīla The day He will gather them together as well as those whom they worship besides Allah, He will ask: "Was it ye who let these My servants astray, or did they stray from the Path themselves?" |
