Sura al-Furqān 25:40

وَلَقَدْ أَتَوْا۟ عَلَى ٱلْقَرْيَةِ ٱلَّتِىٓ أُمْطِرَتْ مَطَرَ ٱلسَّوْءِ أَفَلَمْ يَكُونُوا۟ يَرَوْنَهَا بَلْ كَانُوا۟ لَا يَرْجُونَ نُشُورًا

wa-la-qad ātaw ʿalā l-qaryati allatī umṭirat maṭara l-sawʾi a-fa-lam yakūnū yarawnahā bal kānū lā yarjūna nushūran

And the (Unbelievers) must indeed have passed by the town on which was rained a shower of evil: did they not then see it (with their own eyes)? But they fear not the Resurrection.

Sura al-Furqān 25:41

وَإِذَا رَأَوْكَ إِن يَتَّخِذُونَكَ إِلَّا هُزُوًا أَهَٰذَا ٱلَّذِى بَعَثَ ٱللَّـهُ رَسُولًا

wa-idhā raʾawka in yattakhidhūnaka illā huzuwan a-hādhā alladhī baʿatha allāhu rasūlan

When they see thee, they treat thee no otherwise than in mockery: "Is this the one whom Allah has sent as a messenger?"

Sura al-Furqān 25:42

إِن كَادَ لَيُضِلُّنَا عَنْ ءَالِهَتِنَا لَوْلَآ أَن صَبَرْنَا عَلَيْهَا وَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ حِينَ يَرَوْنَ ٱلْعَذَابَ مَنْ أَضَلُّ سَبِيلًا

in kāda la-yuḍillunā ʿan ālihatinā lawlā an ṣabarnā ʿalayhā wa-sawfa yaʿlamūna ḥīna yarawna l-ʿadhāba man aḍallu sabīlan

"He indeed would well-nigh have misled us from our gods, had it not been that we were constant to them!" - Soon will they know, when they see the Penalty, who it is that is most misled in Path!

Sura al-Furqān 25:43

أَرَءَيْتَ مَنِ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَٰهَهُۥ هَوَىٰهُ أَفَأَنتَ تَكُونُ عَلَيْهِ وَكِيلًا

a-raʾayta mani ittakhadha ilāhahu hawahu a-fa-anta takūnu ʿalayhi wakīlan

Seest thou such a one as taketh for his god his own passion (or impulse)? Couldst thou be a disposer of affairs for him?

Sura al-Furqān 25:44

أَمْ تَحْسَبُ أَنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ يَسْمَعُونَ أَوْ يَعْقِلُونَ إِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا كَٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ بَلْ هُمْ أَضَلُّ سَبِيلًا

am taḥsabu annā aktharahum yasmaʿūna aw yaʿqilūna in hum illā ka-l-anʿāmi bal hum aḍallu sabīlan

Or thinkest thou that most of them listen or understand? They are only like cattle;- nay, they are worse astray in Path.

Sura al-Furqān 25:45

أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَيْفَ مَدَّ ٱلظِّلَّ وَلَوْ شَآءَ لَجَعَلَهُۥ سَاكِنًا ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَا ٱلشَّمْسَ عَلَيْهِ دَلِيلًا

a-lam tara ilā rabbika kayfa madda l-ẓilla wa-law shāʾa la-jaʿalahu sākinan thumma jaʿalnā l-shamsa ʿalayhi dalīlan

Hast thou not turned thy vision to thy Lord?- How He doth prolong the shadow! If He willed, He could make it stationary! then do We make the sun its guide;

Sura al-Furqān 25:46

ثُمَّ قَبَضْنَٰهُ إِلَيْنَا قَبْضًا يَسِيرًا

thumma qabaḍnāhu ilaynā qabḍan yasīran

Then We draw it in towards Ourselves,- a contraction by easy stages.
