Sura al-Shuʿarā 26:14

وَلَهُمْ عَلَىَّ ذَنۢبٌ فَأَخَافُ أَن يَقْتُلُونِ

wa-lahum ʿalayya dhanbun fa-akhāfu an yaqtulūni

"And (further), they have a charge of crime against me; and I fear they may slay me."

Sura al-Shuʿarā 26:15

قَالَ كَلَّا فَٱذْهَبَا بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ إِنَّا مَعَكُم مُّسْتَمِعُونَ

qalā kallā fa-idhhabā bi-āyātinā innā maʿakum mustamiʿūna

Allah said: "By no means! proceed then, both of you, with Our Signs; We are with you, and will listen (to your call).

Sura al-Shuʿarā 26:16

فَأْتِيَا فِرْعَوْنَ فَقُولَآ إِنَّا رَسُولُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

fa-ʾtiyā firʿawna fa-qūlā innā rasūlu rabbi l-ʿālamīna

"So go forth, both of you, to Pharaoh, and say: 'We have been sent by the Lord and Cherisher of the worlds;

Sura al-Shuʿarā 26:17

أَنْ أَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ

an arsil maʿanā banī isrāʾīla

"'Send thou with us the Children of Israel.'"

Sura al-Shuʿarā 26:18

قَالَ أَلَمْ نُرَبِّكَ فِينَا وَلِيدًا وَلَبِثْتَ فِينَا مِنْ عُمُرِكَ سِنِينَ

qalā a-lam nurabbika fīnā walīdan wa-labithta fīnā min ʿumurika sinīna

(Pharaoh) said: "Did we not cherish thee as a child among us, and didst thou not stay in our midst many years of thy life?

Sura al-Shuʿarā 26:19

وَفَعَلْتَ فَعْلَتَكَ ٱلَّتِى فَعَلْتَ وَأَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ

wa-faʿalta faʿlataka allatī faʿalta wa-anta mina l-kāfirīna

"And thou didst a deed of thine which (thou knowest) thou didst, and thou art an ungrateful (wretch)!"

Sura al-Shuʿarā 26:20

قَالَ فَعَلْتُهَآ إِذًا وَأَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ

qalā faʿaltuhā idhan wa-anā mina l-ḍāllīna

Moses said: "I did it then, when I was in error.
