Sura al-Shuʿarā 26:32

فَأَلْقَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ ثُعْبَانٌ مُّبِينٌ

fa-alqā ʿaṣāhu fa-idhā hiya thuʿbānun mubīnun

So (Moses) threw his rod, and behold, it was a serpent, plain (for all to see)!

Sura al-Shuʿarā 26:33

وَنَزَعَ يَدَهُۥ فَإِذَا هِىَ بَيْضَآءُ لِلنَّٰظِرِينَ

wa-nazaʿa yadahu fa-idhā hiya bayḍāʾu lil-nāẓirīna

And he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to all beholders!

Sura al-Shuʿarā 26:34

قَالَ لِلْمَلَإِ حَوْلَهُۥٓ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَسَٰحِرٌ عَلِيمٌ

qalā lil-malaʾi ḥawlahu inna hādhā la-sāḥirun ʿalīmun

(Pharaoh) said to the Chiefs around him: "This is indeed a sorcerer well-versed:

Sura al-Shuʿarā 26:35

يُرِيدُ أَن يُخْرِجَكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِكُم بِسِحْرِهِۦ فَمَاذَا تَأْمُرُونَ

yurīdu an yukhrijakum min arḍikum bisiḥrihi fa-mādhā taʾmurūna

"His plan is to get you out of your land by his sorcery; then what is it ye counsel?"

Sura al-Shuʿarā 26:36

قَالُوٓا۟ أَرْجِهْ وَأَخَاهُ وَٱبْعَثْ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَٰشِرِينَ

qālū arjih wa-akhāhu wa-abʿath fī l-madāʾini ḥāshirīna

They said: "Keep him and his brother in suspense (for a while), and dispatch to the Cities heralds to collect-

Sura al-Shuʿarā 26:37

يَأْتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَحَّارٍ عَلِيمٍ

yaʾtūka bi-kulli saḥḥārin ʿalīmin

"And bring up to thee all (our) sorcerers well-versed."

Sura al-Shuʿarā 26:38

فَجُمِعَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ لِمِيقَٰتِ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ

fa-jumiʿa l-saḥaratu li-mīqāti yawmin maʿlūmin

So the sorcerers were got together for the appointment of a day well-known,
