Surah 27 al-Naml (The Ant)

(27:24)    | وَجَدتُّهَا وَقَوْمَهَا يَسْجُدُونَ لِلشَّمْسِ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّـهِ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ فَصَدَّهُمْ عَنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ فَهُمْ لَا يَهْتَدُونَ | wa‑jadttuhā wa‑qawmahā yasjudūna lil‑shamsi min dūni allāhi wa‑zayyana lahumu l‑shayṭānu aʿmālahum fa‑ṣaddahum ʿani l‑sabīli fa‑hum lā yahtadūna | "I found her and her people worshipping the sun besides Allah:
Satan has made their deeds seem pleasing in their eyes, and has kept them
away from the Path,- so they receive no guidance,-
Sura al-Naml 27:24 وَجَدتُّهَا وَقَوْمَهَا يَسْجُدُونَ لِلشَّمْسِ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّـهِ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ فَصَدَّهُمْ عَنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ فَهُمْ لَا يَهْتَدُونَ wa-jadttuhā wa-qawmahā yasjudūna lil-shamsi min dūni allāhi wa-zayyana lahumu l-shayṭānu aʿmālahum fa-ṣaddahum ʿani l-sabīli fa-hum lā yahtadūna "I found her and her people worshipping the sun besides Allah: Satan has made their deeds seem pleasing in their eyes, and has kept them away from the Path,- so they receive no guidance,- |
| (27:25) | أَلَّا يَسْجُدُوا۟ لِلَّـهِ ٱلَّذِى يُخْرِجُ ٱلْخَبْءَ فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا تُخْفُونَ وَمَا تُعْلِنُونَ | allā yasjudū lillāhi alladhī yukhriju l‑khaba fī l‑samāwāti wa‑l‑arḍi wa‑yaʿlamu mā tukhfūna wa‑mā tuʿlinūna | "(Kept them away from the Path), that they should not worship
Allah, Who brings to light what is hidden in the heavens and the earth, and
knows what ye hide and what ye reveal.
Sura al-Naml 27:25 أَلَّا يَسْجُدُوا۟ لِلَّـهِ ٱلَّذِى يُخْرِجُ ٱلْخَبْءَ فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا تُخْفُونَ وَمَا تُعْلِنُونَ allā yasjudū lillāhi alladhī yukhriju l-khaba fī l-samāwāti wa-l-arḍi wa-yaʿlamu mā tukhfūna wa-mā tuʿlinūna "(Kept them away from the Path), that they should not worship Allah, Who brings to light what is hidden in the heavens and the earth, and knows what ye hide and what ye reveal. |
| (27:26) | ٱللَّـهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ رَبُّ ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ | allāhu lā ilāha illā huwa rabbu l‑ʿarshi l‑ʿaẓīmi | "Allah!- there is no god but He!- Lord of the Throne Supreme!"
Sura al-Naml 27:26 ٱللَّـهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ رَبُّ ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ allāhu lā ilāha illā huwa rabbu l-ʿarshi l-ʿaẓīmi "Allah!- there is no god but He!- Lord of the Throne Supreme!" |
| (27:27) | قَالَ سَنَنظُرُ أَصَدَقْتَ أَمْ كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلْكَٰذِبِينَ | qalā sa‑nanẓuru aṣadaqta am kunta mina l‑kādhibīna | (Solomon) said: "Soon shall we see whether thou hast told the
truth or lied!
Sura al-Naml 27:27 قَالَ سَنَنظُرُ أَصَدَقْتَ أَمْ كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلْكَٰذِبِينَ qalā sa-nanẓuru aṣadaqta am kunta mina l-kādhibīna (Solomon) said: "Soon shall we see whether thou hast told the truth or lied! |
| (27:28) | ٱذْهَب بِّكِتَٰبِى هَٰذَا فَأَلْقِهْ إِلَيْهِمْ ثُمَّ تَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ فَٱنظُرْ مَاذَا يَرْجِعُونَ | idhhab bi‑kitābī hādhā fa‑alqih ilayhim thumma tawalla ʿanhum fa‑anẓur mādhā yarjiʿūna | "Go thou, with this letter of mine, and deliver it to them:
then draw back from them, and (wait to) see what answer they return"...
Sura al-Naml 27:28 ٱذْهَب بِّكِتَٰبِى هَٰذَا فَأَلْقِهْ إِلَيْهِمْ ثُمَّ تَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ فَٱنظُرْ مَاذَا يَرْجِعُونَ idhhab bi-kitābī hādhā fa-alqih ilayhim thumma tawalla ʿanhum fa-anẓur mādhā yarjiʿūna "Go thou, with this letter of mine, and deliver it to them: then draw back from them, and (wait to) see what answer they return"... |
| (27:29) | قَالَتْ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْمَلَؤُا۟ إِنِّىٓ أُلْقِىَ إِلَىَّ كِتَٰبٌ كَرِيمٌ | qālat yā‑ayyuhā l‑malaʾu innī ulqiya ilayya kitābun karīmun | (The queen) said: "Ye chiefs! here is delivered to me - a
letter worthy of respect.
Sura al-Naml 27:29 قَالَتْ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْمَلَؤُا۟ إِنِّىٓ أُلْقِىَ إِلَىَّ كِتَٰبٌ كَرِيمٌ qālat yā-ayyuhā l-malaʾu innī ulqiya ilayya kitābun karīmun (The queen) said: "Ye chiefs! here is delivered to me - a letter worthy of respect. |
| (27:30) | إِنَّهُۥ مِن سُلَيْمَٰنَ وَإِنَّهُۥ بِسْمِ ٱللَّـهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ | innahu min sulaymāna wa‑innahu bi‑ismi allāhi l‑raḥmāni l‑raḥīmi | "It is from Solomon, and is (as follows): 'In the name of Allah,
Most Gracious, Most Merciful:
Sura al-Naml 27:30 إِنَّهُۥ مِن سُلَيْمَٰنَ وَإِنَّهُۥ بِسْمِ ٱللَّـهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ innahu min sulaymāna wa-innahu bi-ismi allāhi l-raḥmāni l-raḥīmi "It is from Solomon, and is (as follows): 'In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful: |
