Sura al-Ṣaffāt 37:35

إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوٓا۟ إِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّـهُ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ

innahum kānū idhā qīla lahum lā ilāha illā allāhu yastakbirūna

For they, when they were told that there is no god except Allah, would puff themselves up with Pride,

Sura al-Ṣaffāt 37:36

وَيَقُولُونَ أَئِنَّا لَتَارِكُوٓا۟ ءَالِهَتِنَا لِشَاعِرٍ مَّجْنُونٍۭ

wa-yaqūlūna ainnā la-tārikū ālihatinā li-shāʿirin majnūnin

And say: "What! shall we give up our gods for the sake of a Poet possessed?"

Sura al-Ṣaffāt 37:37

بَلْ جَآءَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَصَدَّقَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

bal jāa bil-ḥaqqi wa-ṣaddaqa l-mursalīna

Nay! he has come with the (very) Truth, and he confirms (the Message of) the messengers (before him).

Sura al-Ṣaffāt 37:38

إِنَّكُمْ لَذَآئِقُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْأَلِيمِ

innakum la-dhāʾiqū l-ʿadhābi l-alīmi

Ye shall indeed taste of the Grievous Penalty;-

Sura al-Ṣaffāt 37:39

وَمَا تُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ

wa-mā tujzawna illā mā kuntum taʿmalūna

But it will be no more than the retribution of (the Evil) that ye have wrought;-

Sura al-Ṣaffāt 37:40

إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّـهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ

illā ʿibāda allāhi l-mukhlaṣīna

But the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah,-

Sura al-Ṣaffāt 37:41

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ رِزْقٌ مَّعْلُومٌ

ulāʾika lahum rizqun maʿlūmun

For them is a Sustenance determined,
