Sura al-Ṣaffāt 37:57

وَلَوْلَا نِعْمَةُ رَبِّى لَكُنتُ مِنَ ٱلْمُحْضَرِينَ

wa-lawlā niʿmatu rabbī la-kuntu mina l-muḥḍarīna

"Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I should certainly have been among those brought (there)!

Sura al-Ṣaffāt 37:58

أَفَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَيِّتِينَ

a-fa-mā naḥnu bi-mayyitīna

"Is it (the case) that we shall not die,

Sura al-Ṣaffāt 37:59

إِلَّا مَوْتَتَنَا ٱلْأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ

illā mawtatanā l-ūlā wa-mā naḥnu bi-muʿadhdhabīna

"Except our first death, and that we shall not be punished?"

Sura al-Ṣaffāt 37:60

إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ

inna hādhā la-huwa l-fawzu l-ʿaẓīmu

Verily this is the supreme achievement!

Sura al-Ṣaffāt 37:61

لِمِثْلِ هَٰذَا فَلْيَعْمَلِ ٱلْعَٰمِلُونَ

li-mithli hādhā fa-l-yaʿmali l-ʿāmilūna

For the like of this let all strive, who wish to strive.

Sura al-Ṣaffāt 37:62

أَذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ نُّزُلًا أَمْ شَجَرَةُ ٱلزَّقُّومِ

a-dhālika khayrun nnuzulan am shajaratu l-zaqqūmi

Is that the better entertainment or the Tree of Zaqqum?

Sura al-Ṣaffāt 37:63

إِنَّا جَعَلْنَٰهَا فِتْنَةً لِّلظَّٰلِمِينَ

innā jaʿalnāhā fitnatan lil-ẓālimīna

For We have truly made it (as) a trial for the wrong-doers.
