Sura Qāf 50:18

مَّا يَلْفِظُ مِن قَوْلٍ إِلَّا لَدَيْهِ رَقِيبٌ عَتِيدٌ

mā yalfiẓu min qawlin illā la-dayhi raqībun ʿatīdun

Not a word does he utter but there is a sentinel by him, ready (to note it).

Sura Qāf 50:19

وَجَآءَتْ سَكْرَةُ ٱلْمَوْتِ بِٱلْحَقِّ ذَٰلِكَ مَا كُنتَ مِنْهُ تَحِيدُ

wa-jāʾat sakratu l-mawti bil-ḥaqqi dhālika mā kunta minhu taḥīdu

And the stupor of death will bring Truth (before his eyes): "This was the thing which thou wast trying to escape!"

Sura Qāf 50:20

وَنُفِخَ فِى ٱلصُّورِ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ ٱلْوَعِيدِ

wa-nufikha fī l-ṣūri dhālika yawmu l-waʿīdi

And the Trumpet shall be blown: that will be the Day whereof Warning (had been given).

Sura Qāf 50:21

وَجَآءَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّعَهَا سَآئِقٌ وَشَهِيدٌ

wa-jāʾat kullu nafsin maʿahā sāʾiqun wa-shahīdun

And there will come forth every soul: with each will be an (angel) to drive, and an (angel) to bear witness.

Sura Qāf 50:22

لَّقَدْ كُنتَ فِى غَفْلَةٍ مِّنْ هَٰذَا فَكَشَفْنَا عَنكَ غِطَآءَكَ فَبَصَرُكَ ٱلْيَوْمَ حَدِيدٌ

llaqad kunta fī ghaflatin min hādhā fa-kashafnā ʿanka ghiṭāʾaka fabaṣaruka l-yawma ḥadīdun

(It will be said:) "Thou wast heedless of this; now have We removed thy veil, and sharp is thy sight this Day!"

Sura Qāf 50:23

وَقَالَ قَرِينُهُۥ هَٰذَا مَا لَدَىَّ عَتِيدٌ

wa-qāla qarīnuhu hādhā mā ladayya ʿatīdun

And his Companion will say: "Here is (his Record) ready with me!"

Sura Qāf 50:24

أَلْقِيَا فِى جَهَنَّمَ كُلَّ كَفَّارٍ عَنِيدٍ

alqīā fī jahannama kulla kaffārin ʿanīdin

(The sentence will be:) "Throw, throw into Hell every contumacious Rejecter (of Allah)!-
