Sura al-Ṭūr 52:25

وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ

wa-aqbala baʿḍuhum ʿalā baʿḍin yatasāʾalūna

They will advance to each other, engaging in mutual enquiry.

Sura al-Ṭūr 52:26

قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا كُنَّا قَبْلُ فِىٓ أَهْلِنَا مُشْفِقِينَ

qālū innā kunnā qablu fī ahlinā mushfiqīna

They will say: "Aforetime, we were not without fear for the sake of our people.

Sura al-Ṭūr 52:27

فَمَنَّ ٱللَّـهُ عَلَيْنَا وَوَقَىٰنَا عَذَابَ ٱلسَّمُومِ

famanna allāhu ʿalaynā wa-waqānā ʿadhāba l-samūmi

"But Allah has been good to us, and has delivered us from the Penalty of the Scorching Wind.

Sura al-Ṭūr 52:28

إِنَّا كُنَّا مِن قَبْلُ نَدْعُوهُ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْبَرُّ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

innā kunnā min qablu nadʿūhu innahu huwa l-barru l-raḥīmu

"Truly, we did call unto Him from of old: truly it is He, the Beneficent, the Merciful!"

Sura al-Ṭūr 52:29

فَذَكِّرْ فَمَآ أَنتَ بِنِعْمَتِ رَبِّكَ بِكَاهِنٍ وَلَا مَجْنُونٍ

fa-dhakkir fa-mā anta bi-niʿmati rabbika bikāhinin wa-lā majnūnin

Therefore proclaim thou the praises (of thy Lord): for by the Grace of thy Lord, thou art no (vulgar) soothsayer, nor art thou one possessed.

Sura al-Ṭūr 52:30

أَمْ يَقُولُونَ شَاعِرٌ نَّتَرَبَّصُ بِهِۦ رَيْبَ ٱلْمَنُونِ

am yaqūlūna shāʿirun natarabbaṣu bihi rayba l-manūni

Or do they say:- "A Poet! we await for him some calamity (hatched) by Time!"

Sura al-Ṭūr 52:31

قُلْ تَرَبَّصُوا۟ فَإِنِّى مَعَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْمُتَرَبِّصِينَ

qul tarabbaṣū fa-innī maʿakum mina l-mutarabbiṣīna

Say thou: "Await ye!- I too will wait along with you!"
