(2:16) | أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱشْتَرَوُا۟ ٱلضَّلَٰلَةَ بِٱلْهُدَىٰ فَمَا رَبِحَت تِّجَٰرَتُهُمْ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُهْتَدِينَ | ulāʾika lladhīna ishtarawu l‑ḍalālata bil‑hudā fa‑mā rabiḥat tijāratuhum wa‑mā kānū muhtadīna | These are they who have bartered Guidance for error: But their
traffic is profitless, and they have lost true direction,
Sura al-Baqara 2:16 أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱشْتَرَوُا۟ ٱلضَّلَٰلَةَ بِٱلْهُدَىٰ فَمَا رَبِحَت تِّجَٰرَتُهُمْ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُهْتَدِينَ ulāʾika lladhīna ishtarawu l-ḍalālata bil-hudā fa-mā rabiḥat tijāratuhum wa-mā kānū muhtadīna These are they who have bartered Guidance for error: But their traffic is profitless, and they have lost true direction, |
(2:61) | وَإِذْ قُلْتُمْ يَٰمُوسَىٰ لَن نَّصْبِرَ عَلَىٰ طَعَامٍ وَٰحِدٍ فَٱدْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ يُخْرِجْ لَنَا مِمَّا تُنۢبِتُ ٱلْأَرْضُ مِنۢ بَقْلِهَا وَقِثَّآئِهَا وَفُومِهَا وَعَدَسِهَا وَبَصَلِهَا قَالَ أَتَسْتَبْدِلُونَ ٱلَّذِى هُوَ أَدْنَىٰ بِٱلَّذِى هُوَ خَيْرٌ ٱهْبِطُوا۟ مِصْرًا فَإِنَّ لَكُم مَّا سَأَلْتُمْ وَضُرِبَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلذِّلَّةُ وَٱلْمَسْكَنَةُ وَبَآءُو بِغَضَبٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّـهِ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ يَكْفُرُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّـهِ وَيَقْتُلُونَ ٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ بِغَيْرِ ٱلْحَقِّ ذَٰلِكَ بِمَا عَصَوا۟ وَّكَانُوا۟ يَعْتَدُونَ | wa‑idh qultum yā‑mūsā lan naṣbira ʿalā ṭaʿāmin wāḥidin fa‑idʿu la‑nā rabbaka yukhrij la‑nā mimmā tunbitu l‑arḍu min baqlihā wa‑qiththāʾihā wa‑fūmihā wa‑ʿadasihā wa‑baṣalihā qalā atastabdilūna alladhī huwa adnā bi‑lladhī huwa khayrun ahbiṭū miṣran fa‑inna la‑kum mā saʾaltum waḍuribat ʿalayhimu l‑dhillatu wa‑l‑maskanatu wa‑bāʾū bighaḍabin mina allāhi dhālika bi‑annahum kānū yakfurūna bi‑āyāti allāhi wa‑yaqtulūna l‑nabiyyina bi‑ghayri l‑ḥaqqi dhālika bi‑mā ʿaṣaw wa‑kānū yaʿtadūna | And remember ye said: "O Moses! we cannot endure one kind of
food (always); so beseech thy Lord for us to produce for us of what the
earth groweth, -its pot-herbs, and cucumbers, Its garlic, lentils, and
onions." He said: "Will ye exchange the better for the worse? Go ye down to
any town, and ye shall find what ye want!" They were covered with
humiliation and misery; they drew on themselves the wrath of Allah. This
because they went on rejecting the Signs of Allah and slaying His Messengers
without just cause. This because they rebelled and went on transgressing.
Sura al-Baqara 2:61 وَإِذْ قُلْتُمْ يَٰمُوسَىٰ لَن نَّصْبِرَ عَلَىٰ طَعَامٍ وَٰحِدٍ فَٱدْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ يُخْرِجْ لَنَا مِمَّا تُنۢبِتُ ٱلْأَرْضُ مِنۢ بَقْلِهَا وَقِثَّآئِهَا وَفُومِهَا وَعَدَسِهَا وَبَصَلِهَا قَالَ أَتَسْتَبْدِلُونَ ٱلَّذِى هُوَ أَدْنَىٰ بِٱلَّذِى هُوَ خَيْرٌ ٱهْبِطُوا۟ مِصْرًا فَإِنَّ لَكُم مَّا سَأَلْتُمْ وَضُرِبَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلذِّلَّةُ وَٱلْمَسْكَنَةُ وَبَآءُو بِغَضَبٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّـهِ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ يَكْفُرُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّـهِ وَيَقْتُلُونَ ٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ بِغَيْرِ ٱلْحَقِّ ذَٰلِكَ بِمَا عَصَوا۟ وَّكَانُوا۟ يَعْتَدُونَ wa-idh qultum yā-mūsā lan naṣbira ʿalā ṭaʿāmin wāḥidin fa-idʿu la-nā rabbaka yukhrij la-nā mimmā tunbitu l-arḍu min baqlihā wa-qiththāʾihā wa-fūmihā wa-ʿadasihā wa-baṣalihā qalā atastabdilūna alladhī huwa adnā bi-lladhī huwa khayrun ahbiṭū miṣran fa-inna la-kum mā saʾaltum waḍuribat ʿalayhimu l-dhillatu wa-l-maskanatu wa-bāʾū bighaḍabin mina allāhi dhālika bi-annahum kānū yakfurūna bi-āyāti allāhi wa-yaqtulūna l-nabiyyina bi-ghayri l-ḥaqqi dhālika bi-mā ʿaṣaw wa-kānū yaʿtadūna And remember ye said: "O Moses! we cannot endure one kind of food (always); so beseech thy Lord for us to produce for us of what the earth groweth, -its pot-herbs, and cucumbers, Its garlic, lentils, and onions." He said: "Will ye exchange the better for the worse? Go ye down to any town, and ye shall find what ye want!" (2:69) | قَالُوا۟ ٱدْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ يُبَيِّن لَّنَا مَا لَوْنُهَا قَالَ إِنَّهُۥ يَقُولُ إِنَّهَا بَقَرَةٌ صَفْرَآءُ فَاقِعٌ لَّوْنُهَا تَسُرُّ ٱلنَّٰظِرِينَ | qālū idʿu la‑nā rabbaka yubayyin lanā mā lawnuhā qalā innahu yaqūlu innahā baqaratun ṣafrāʾu fāqiʿun lawnuhā tasurru l‑nāẓirīna | They said: "Beseech on our behalf Thy Lord to make plain to us
Her colour." He said: "He says: A fawn-coloured heifer, pure and rich in
tone, the admiration of beholders!"
Sura al-Baqara 2:69 قَالُوا۟ ٱدْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ يُبَيِّن لَّنَا مَا لَوْنُهَا قَالَ إِنَّهُۥ يَقُولُ إِنَّهَا بَقَرَةٌ صَفْرَآءُ فَاقِعٌ لَّوْنُهَا تَسُرُّ ٱلنَّٰظِرِينَ qālū idʿu la-nā rabbaka yubayyin lanā mā lawnuhā qalā innahu yaqūlu innahā baqaratun ṣafrāʾu fāqiʿun lawnuhā tasurru l-nāẓirīna They said: "Beseech on our behalf Thy Lord to make plain to us Her colour." He said: "He says: A fawn-coloured heifer, pure and rich in tone, the admiration of beholders!" |
(2:71) | قَالَ إِنَّهُۥ يَقُولُ إِنَّهَا بَقَرَةٌ لَّا ذَلُولٌ تُثِيرُ ٱلْأَرْضَ وَلَا تَسْقِى ٱلْحَرْثَ مُسَلَّمَةٌ لَّا شِيَةَ فِيهَا قَالُوا۟ ٱلْـَٰٔنَ جِئْتَ بِٱلْحَقِّ فَذَبَحُوهَا وَمَا كَادُوا۟ يَفْعَلُونَ | qalā innahu yaqūlu innahā baqaratun lā dhalūlun tuthīru l‑arḍa wa‑lā tasqī l‑ḥartha musallamatun lā shiyata fīhā qālū l‑ana jiʾta bil‑ḥaqqi fa‑dhabaḥūhā wa‑mā kādū yafʿalūna | He said: "He says: A heifer not trained to till the soil or
water the fields; sound and without blemish." They said: "Now hast thou
brought the truth." Then they offered her in sacrifice, but not with
good-will.
Sura al-Baqara 2:71 قَالَ إِنَّهُۥ يَقُولُ إِنَّهَا بَقَرَةٌ لَّا ذَلُولٌ تُثِيرُ ٱلْأَرْضَ وَلَا تَسْقِى ٱلْحَرْثَ مُسَلَّمَةٌ لَّا شِيَةَ فِيهَا قَالُوا۟ ٱلْـَٰٔنَ جِئْتَ بِٱلْحَقِّ فَذَبَحُوهَا وَمَا كَادُوا۟ يَفْعَلُونَ qalā innahu yaqūlu innahā baqaratun lā dhalūlun tuthīru l-arḍa wa-lā tasqī l-ḥartha musallamatun lā shiyata fīhā qālū l-ana jiʾta bil-ḥaqqi fa-dhabaḥūhā wa-mā kādū yafʿalūna He said: "He says: A heifer not trained to till the soil or water the fields; sound and without blemish." They said: "Now hast thou brought the truth." Then they offered her in sacrifice, but not with good-will. |
(2:171) | وَمَثَلُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ كَمَثَلِ ٱلَّذِى يَنْعِقُ بِمَا لَا يَسْمَعُ إِلَّا دُعَآءً وَنِدَآءً صُمٌّۢ بُكْمٌ عُمْىٌ فَهُمْ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ | wa‑mathalu lladhīna kafarū ka‑mathali alladhī yanʿiqu bi‑mā lā yasmaʿu illā duʿāʾan wa‑nidāʾan ṣummun bukmun ʿumun fa‑hum lā yaʿqilūna | The parable of those who reject Faith is as if one were to
shout Like a goat-herd, to things that listen to nothing but calls and
cries: Deaf, dumb, and blind, they are void of wisdom.
Sura al-Baqara 2:171 وَمَثَلُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ كَمَثَلِ ٱلَّذِى يَنْعِقُ بِمَا لَا يَسْمَعُ إِلَّا دُعَآءً وَنِدَآءً صُمٌّۢ بُكْمٌ عُمْىٌ فَهُمْ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ wa-mathalu lladhīna kafarū ka-mathali alladhī yanʿiqu bi-mā lā yasmaʿu illā duʿāʾan wa-nidāʾan ṣummun bukmun ʿumun fa-hum lā yaʿqilūna The parable of those who reject Faith is as if one were to shout Like a goat-herd, to things that listen to nothing but calls and cries: Deaf, dumb, and blind, they are void of wisdom. |
(2:255) | ٱللَّـهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْحَىُّ ٱلْقَيُّومُ لَا تَأْخُذُهُۥ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ لَّهُۥ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مَن ذَا ٱلَّذِى يَشْفَعُ عِندَهُۥٓ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِۦ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِشَىْءٍ مِّنْ عِلْمِهِۦٓ إِلَّا بِمَا شَآءَ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَلَا يَـُٔودُهُۥ حِفْظُهُمَا وَهُوَ ٱلْعَلِىُّ ٱلْعَظِيمُ | allāhu lā ilāha illā huwa l‑ḥayyu l‑qayyūmu lā takhudhuhu sinatun wa‑lā nawmun lahu mā fī l‑samāwāti wa‑mā fī l‑arḍi man dhā alladhī yashfaʿu ʿindahu illā bi‑idhnihi yaʿlamu mā bayna aydīhim wa‑mā khalfahum wa‑lā yuḥīṭūna bi‑shayʾin min ʿilmihi illā bi‑mā shāʾa wasiʿa kursīyuhu l‑samāwāti wa‑l‑arḍa wa‑lā yaʾūduhu ḥifẓuhumā wa‑huwa l‑ʿaliyyu l‑ʿaẓīmu | Allah! There is no god but He,-the Living, the Self-subsisting,
Eternal. No slumber can seize Him nor sleep. His are all things in the
heavens and on earth. Who is there can intercede in His presence except as
He permitteth? He knoweth what (appeareth to His creatures as) before or
after or behind them. Nor shall they compass aught of His knowledge except
as He willeth. His Throne doth extend over the heavens and the earth, and
He feeleth no fatigue in guarding and preserving them for He is the Most
High, the Supreme (in glory).
Sura al-Baqara 2:255 ٱللَّـهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْحَىُّ ٱلْقَيُّومُ لَا تَأْخُذُهُۥ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ لَّهُۥ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مَن ذَا ٱلَّذِى يَشْفَعُ عِندَهُۥٓ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِۦ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِشَىْءٍ مِّنْ عِلْمِهِۦٓ إِلَّا بِمَا شَآءَ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَلَا يَـُٔودُهُۥ حِفْظُهُمَا وَهُوَ ٱلْعَلِىُّ ٱلْعَظِيمُ allāhu lā ilāha illā huwa l-ḥayyu l-qayyūmu lā takhudhuhu sinatun wa-lā nawmun lahu mā fī l-samāwāti wa-mā fī l-arḍi man dhā alladhī yashfaʿu ʿindahu illā bi-idhnihi yaʿlamu mā bayna aydīhim wa-mā khalfahum wa-lā yuḥīṭūna bi-shayʾin min ʿilmihi illā bi-mā shāʾa wasiʿa kursīyuhu l-samāwāti wa-l-arḍa wa-lā yaʾūduhu ḥifẓuhumā wa-huwa l-ʿaliyyu l-ʿaẓīmu Allah! (2:256) | لَآ إِكْرَاهَ فِى ٱلدِّينِ قَد تَّبَيَّنَ ٱلرُّشْدُ مِنَ ٱلْغَىِّ فَمَن يَكْفُرْ بِٱلطَّٰغُوتِ وَيُؤْمِنۢ بِٱللَّـهِ فَقَدِ ٱسْتَمْسَكَ بِٱلْعُرْوَةِ ٱلْوُثْقَىٰ لَا ٱنفِصَامَ لَهَا وَٱللَّـهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ | lā ikrāha fī l‑dīni qad tabayyana l‑rushdu mina l‑ghayyi fa‑man yakfur bil‑ṭāghūti wa‑yuʾmin billāhi fa‑qadi istamsaka bil‑ʿurwati l‑wuthqā lā infiṣāma lahā wallāhu samīʿun ʿalīmun | Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear
from Error: whoever rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most
trustworthy hand-hold, that never breaks. And Allah heareth and knoweth all
things.
Sura al-Baqara 2:256 لَآ إِكْرَاهَ فِى ٱلدِّينِ قَد تَّبَيَّنَ ٱلرُّشْدُ مِنَ ٱلْغَىِّ فَمَن يَكْفُرْ بِٱلطَّٰغُوتِ وَيُؤْمِنۢ بِٱللَّـهِ فَقَدِ ٱسْتَمْسَكَ بِٱلْعُرْوَةِ ٱلْوُثْقَىٰ لَا ٱنفِصَامَ لَهَا وَٱللَّـهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ lā ikrāha fī l-dīni qad tabayyana l-rushdu mina l-ghayyi fa-man yakfur bil-ṭāghūti wa-yuʾmin billāhi fa-qadi istamsaka bil-ʿurwati l-wuthqā lā infiṣāma lahā wallāhu samīʿun ʿalīmun Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from Error: whoever rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold, that never breaks. And Allah heareth and knoweth all things. |
(2:259) | أَوْ كَٱلَّذِى مَرَّ عَلَىٰ قَرْيَةٍ وَهِىَ خَاوِيَةٌ عَلَىٰ عُرُوشِهَا قَالَ أَنَّىٰ يُحْىِۦ هَٰذِهِ ٱللَّـهُ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا فَأَمَاتَهُ ٱللَّـهُ مِا۟ئَةَ عَامٍ ثُمَّ بَعَثَهُۥ قَالَ كَمْ لَبِثْتَ قَالَ لَبِثْتُ يَوْمًا أَوْ بَعْضَ يَوْمٍ قَالَ بَل لَّبِثْتَ مِا۟ئَةَ عَامٍ فَٱنظُرْ إِلَىٰ طَعَامِكَ وَشَرَابِكَ لَمْ يَتَسَنَّهْ وَٱنظُرْ إِلَىٰ حِمَارِكَ وَلِنَجْعَلَكَ ءَايَةً لِّلنَّاسِ وَٱنظُرْ إِلَى ٱلْعِظَامِ كَيْفَ نُنشِزُهَا ثُمَّ نَكْسُوهَا لَحْمًا فَلَمَّا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُۥ قَالَ أَعْلَمُ أَنَّ ٱللَّـهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ | aw ka‑lladhī marra ʿalā qaryatin wahiya khāwiyatun ʿalā ʿurūshihā qalā annā yuḥyi hādhihi allāhu baʿda mawtihā fa‑amātahu allāhu miʾata ʿāmin thumma baʿathahu qalā kam labithta qalā labithtu yawman aw baʿḍa yawmin qalā bal llabithta miʾata ʿāmin fa‑inẓur ilā ṭaʿāmika wa‑sharābika lam yatasannah wa‑unẓur ilā ḥimārika wa‑li‑najʿalaka āyatan lil‑nāsi wa‑unẓur ilā l‑ʿiẓāmi kayfa nunshizuhā thumma naksūhā laḥman fa‑lammā tabayyana lahu qalā aʿlamu annā allāha ʿalā kulli shayʾin qadīrun | Or (take) the similitude of one who passed by a hamlet, all in
ruins to its roofs. He said: "Oh! how shall Allah bring it (ever) to life,
after (this) its death?" but Allah caused him to die for a hundred years,
then raised him up (again). He said: "How long didst thou tarry (thus)?" He
said: (Perhaps) a day or part of a day." He said: "Nay, thou hast tarried
thus a hundred years; but look at thy food and thy drink; they show no
signs of age; and look at thy donkey: And that We may make of thee a sign
unto the people, Look further at the bones, how We bring them together and
clothe them with flesh." When this was shown clearly to him, he said: "I
know that Allah hath power over all things."
Sura al-Baqara 2:259 أَوْ كَٱلَّذِى مَرَّ عَلَىٰ قَرْيَةٍ وَهِىَ خَاوِيَةٌ عَلَىٰ عُرُوشِهَا قَالَ أَنَّىٰ يُحْىِۦ هَٰذِهِ ٱللَّـهُ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا فَأَمَاتَهُ ٱللَّـهُ مِا۟ئَةَ عَامٍ ثُمَّ بَعَثَهُۥ قَالَ كَمْ لَبِثْتَ قَالَ لَبِثْتُ يَوْمًا أَوْ بَعْضَ يَوْمٍ قَالَ بَل لَّبِثْتَ مِا۟ئَةَ عَامٍ فَٱنظُرْ إِلَىٰ طَعَامِكَ وَشَرَابِكَ لَمْ يَتَسَنَّهْ وَٱنظُرْ إِلَىٰ حِمَارِكَ وَلِنَجْعَلَكَ ءَايَةً لِّلنَّاسِ وَٱنظُرْ إِلَى ٱلْعِظَامِ كَيْفَ نُنشِزُهَا ثُمَّ نَكْسُوهَا لَحْمًا فَلَمَّا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُۥ قَالَ أَعْلَمُ أَنَّ ٱللَّـهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ aw ka-lladhī marra ʿalā qaryatin wahiya khāwiyatun ʿalā ʿurūshihā qalā annā yuḥyi hādhihi allāhu baʿda mawtihā fa-amātahu allāhu miʾata ʿāmin thumma baʿathahu qalā kam labithta qalā labithtu yawman aw baʿḍa yawmin qalā bal llabithta miʾata ʿāmin fa-inẓur ilā ṭaʿāmika wa-sharābika lam yatasannah wa-unẓur ilā ḥimārika wa-li-najʿalaka āyatan lil-nāsi wa-unẓur ilā l-ʿiẓāmi kayfa nunshizuhā thumma naksūhā laḥman fa-lammā tabayyana lahu qalā aʿlamu annā allāha ʿalā kulli shayʾin qadīrun Or (take) the similitude of one who passed by a hamlet, all in ruins to its roofs. He said: "Oh! how shall Allah bring it (ever) to life, after (this) its death?" but Allah caused him to die for a hundred years, then raised him up (again). He said: "How long didst thou tarry (thus)?" He said: (Perhaps) a day or part of a day." (2:264) | يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تُبْطِلُوا۟ صَدَقَٰتِكُم بِٱلْمَنِّ وَٱلْأَذَىٰ كَٱلَّذِى يُنفِقُ مَالَهُۥ رِئَآءَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَلَا يُؤْمِنُ بِٱللَّـهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْأَخِرِ فَمَثَلُهُۥ كَمَثَلِ صَفْوَانٍ عَلَيْهِ تُرَابٌ فَأَصَابَهُۥ وَابِلٌ فَتَرَكَهُۥ صَلْدًا لَّا يَقْدِرُونَ عَلَىٰ شَىْءٍ مِّمَّا كَسَبُوا۟ وَٱللَّـهُ لَا يَهْدِى ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ | yā‑ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū lā tubṭilū ṣadaqātikum bil‑manni wa‑l‑adha ka‑lladhī yunfiqu mālahu riʾāʾa l‑nāsi wa‑lā yuʾminū billāhi wa‑l‑yawmi l‑akhiri fa‑mathaluhu ka‑mathali ṣafwānin ʿalayhi turābun fa‑aṣābahu wābilun fa‑tarakahu ṣaldan lā yaqdirūna ʿalā shayʾin mimmā kasabū wallāhu lā yahdī l‑qawma l‑kāfirīna | O ye who believe! cancel not your charity by reminders of your
generosity or by injury,- like those who spend their substance to be seen
of men, but believe neither in Allah nor in the Last Day. They are in parable
like a hard, barren rock, on which is a little soil: on it falls heavy
rain, which leaves it (Just) a bare stone. They will be able to do nothing
with aught they have earned. And Allah guideth not those who reject faith.

(2:265) | وَمَثَلُ ٱلَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ أَمْوَٰلَهُمُ ٱبْتِغَآءَ مَرْضَاتِ ٱللَّـهِ وَتَثْبِيتًا مِّنْ أَنفُسِهِمْ كَمَثَلِ جَنَّةٍۭ بِرَبْوَةٍ أَصَابَهَا وَابِلٌ فَـَٔاتَتْ أُكُلَهَا ضِعْفَيْنِ فَإِن لَّمْ يُصِبْهَا وَابِلٌ فَطَلٌّ وَٱللَّـهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ | wa‑mathalu lladhīna yunfiqūna amwālahumu ibtighāʾa marḍāti allāhi wa‑tathbītan min anfusihim ka‑mathali jannatin bi‑rabwatin aṣābahā wābilun fa‑ātat ukulahā ḍiʿfayni fa‑in lam yuṣibhā wābilun fa‑ṭallun wallāhu bi‑mā taʿmalūna baṣīrun | And the likeness of those who spend their substance, seeking
to please Allah and to strengthen their souls, is as a garden, high and
fertile: heavy rain falls on it but makes it yield a double increase of
harvest, and if it receives not Heavy rain, light moisture sufficeth it.
Allah seeth well whatever ye do.
Sura al-Baqara 2:265 وَمَثَلُ ٱلَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ أَمْوَٰلَهُمُ ٱبْتِغَآءَ مَرْضَاتِ ٱللَّـهِ وَتَثْبِيتًا مِّنْ أَنفُسِهِمْ كَمَثَلِ جَنَّةٍۭ بِرَبْوَةٍ أَصَابَهَا وَابِلٌ فَـَٔاتَتْ أُكُلَهَا ضِعْفَيْنِ فَإِن لَّمْ يُصِبْهَا وَابِلٌ فَطَلٌّ وَٱللَّـهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ wa-mathalu lladhīna yunfiqūna amwālahumu ibtighāʾa marḍāti allāhi wa-tathbītan min anfusihim ka-mathali jannatin bi-rabwatin aṣābahā wābilun fa-ātat ukulahā ḍiʿfayni fa-in lam yuṣibhā wābilun fa-ṭallun wallāhu bi-mā taʿmalūna baṣīrun And the likeness of those who spend their substance, seeking to please Allah and to strengthen their souls, is as a garden, high and fertile: heavy rain falls on it but makes it yield a double increase of harvest, and if it receives not Heavy rain, light moisture sufficeth it. (2:267) | يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ أَنفِقُوا۟ مِن طَيِّبَٰتِ مَا كَسَبْتُمْ وَمِمَّآ أَخْرَجْنَا لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا تَيَمَّمُوا۟ ٱلْخَبِيثَ مِنْهُ تُنفِقُونَ وَلَسْتُم بِـَٔاخِذِيهِ إِلَّآ أَن تُغْمِضُوا۟ فِيهِ وَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّـهَ غَنِىٌّ حَمِيدٌ | yā‑ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū anfiqū min ṭayyibāti mā kasabtum wa‑mimmā akhrajnā la‑kum mina l‑arḍi wa‑lā tayammamū l‑khabītha minhu tunfiqūna wa‑lastum bi‑ākhidhīhi illā an tughmiḍū fīhi waʿlamū annā allāha ghaniyyun ḥamīdun | O ye who believe! Give of the good things which ye have
(honourably) earned, and of the fruits of the earth which We have produced
for you, and do not even aim at getting anything which is bad, in order
that out of it ye may give away something, when ye yourselves would not
receive it except with closed eyes. And know that Allah is Free of all wants,
and worthy of all praise.
Sura al-Baqara 2:267 يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ أَنفِقُوا۟ مِن طَيِّبَٰتِ مَا كَسَبْتُمْ وَمِمَّآ أَخْرَجْنَا لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا تَيَمَّمُوا۟ ٱلْخَبِيثَ مِنْهُ تُنفِقُونَ وَلَسْتُم بِـَٔاخِذِيهِ إِلَّآ أَن تُغْمِضُوا۟ فِيهِ وَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّـهَ غَنِىٌّ حَمِيدٌ yā-ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū anfiqū min ṭayyibāti mā kasabtum wa-mimmā akhrajnā la-kum mina l-arḍi wa-lā tayammamū l-khabītha minhu tunfiqūna wa-lastum bi-ākhidhīhi illā an tughmiḍū fīhi waʿlamū annā allāha ghaniyyun ḥamīdun O ye who believe! Give of the good things which ye have (honourably) earned, and of the fruits of the earth which We have produced for you, and do not even aim at getting anything which is bad, in order that out of it ye may give away something, when ye yourselves would not receive it except with closed eyes. And know that Allah is Free of all wants, and worthy of all praise. |
(2:273) | لِلْفُقَرَآءِ ٱلَّذِينَ أُحْصِرُوا۟ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّـهِ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ ضَرْبًا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ يَحْسَبُهُمُ ٱلْجَاهِلُ أَغْنِيَآءَ مِنَ ٱلتَّعَفُّفِ تَعْرِفُهُم بِسِيمَٰهُمْ لَا يَسْـَٔلُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ إِلْحَافًا وَمَا تُنفِقُوا۟ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ بِهِۦ عَلِيمٌ | lil‑fuqarāʾi lladhīna uḥṣirū fī sabīli allāhi lā yastaṭīʿūna ḍarban fī l‑arḍi yaḥsabuhumu l‑jāhilu aghniyāʾa mina l‑taʿaffufi taʿrifuhum bi‑sīmāhum lā yasʾalūna l‑nāsa ilḥāfan wa‑mā tunfiqū min khayrin fa‑inna allāha bihi ʿalīmun | (Charity is) for those in need, who, in Allah's cause are
restricted (from travel), and cannot move about in the land, seeking (For
trade or work): the ignorant man thinks, because of their modesty, that
they are free from want. Thou shalt know them by their (Unfailing) mark:
They beg not importunately from all the sundry. And whatever of good ye
give, be assured Allah knoweth it well.

(2:275) | ٱلَّذِينَ يَأْكُلُونَ ٱلرِّبَوٰا۟ لَا يَقُومُونَ إِلَّا كَمَا يَقُومُ ٱلَّذِى يَتَخَبَّطُهُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ مِنَ ٱلْمَسِّ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَا ٱلْبَيْعُ مِثْلُ ٱلرِّبَوٰا۟ وَأَحَلَّ ٱللَّـهُ ٱلْبَيْعَ وَحَرَّمَ ٱلرِّبَوٰا۟ فَمَن جَآءَهُۥ مَوْعِظَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦ فَٱنتَهَىٰ فَلَهُۥ مَا سَلَفَ وَأَمْرُهُۥٓ إِلَى ٱللَّـهِ وَمَنْ عَادَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ | lladhīna yaʾkulūna l‑ribā lā yaqūmūna illā ka‑mā yaqūmu alladhī yatakhabbaṭuhu l‑shayṭānu mina l‑massi dhālika bi‑annahum qālū innamā l‑bayʿu mithlu l‑ribā wa‑aḥalla allāhu l‑bayʿa wa‑ḥarrama l‑ribā fa‑man jāʾahu mawʿiẓatun min rabbihi fa‑antaha fa‑lahu mā salafa wa‑amruhu ilā allāhi wa‑man ʿāda fa‑ūlāʾika aṣḥābu l‑nāri hum fīhā khālidūna | Those who devour usury will not stand except as stand one whom
the Evil one by his touch Hath driven to madness. That is because they say:
"Trade is like usury," but Allah hath permitted trade and forbidden usury.
Those who after receiving direction from their Lord, desist, shall be
pardoned for the past; their case is for Allah (to judge); but those who
repeat (The offence) are companions of the Fire: They will abide therein
(for ever).

(3:41) | قَالَ رَبِّ ٱجْعَل لِّىٓ ءَايَةً قَالَ ءَايَتُكَ أَلَّا تُكَلِّمَ ٱلنَّاسَ ثَلَٰثَةَ أَيَّامٍ إِلَّا رَمْزًا وَٱذْكُر رَّبَّكَ كَثِيرًا وَسَبِّحْ بِٱلْعَشِىِّ وَٱلْإِبْكَٰرِ | qalā rabbi ajʿal llī āyatan qalā āyatuka allā tukallima l‑nāsa thalāthata ayyāmin illā ramzan wa‑idhkur rabbaka kathīran wa‑sabbiḥ bil‑ʿashiyyi wa‑alibkāri | He said: "O my Lord! Give me a Sign!" "Thy Sign," was the
answer, "Shall be that thou shalt speak to no man for three days but with
signals. Then celebrate the praises of thy Lord again and again, and
glorify Him in the evening and in the morning."
Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:41 قَالَ رَبِّ ٱجْعَل لِّىٓ ءَايَةً قَالَ ءَايَتُكَ أَلَّا تُكَلِّمَ ٱلنَّاسَ ثَلَٰثَةَ أَيَّامٍ إِلَّا رَمْزًا وَٱذْكُر رَّبَّكَ كَثِيرًا وَسَبِّحْ بِٱلْعَشِىِّ وَٱلْإِبْكَٰرِ qalā rabbi ajʿal llī āyatan qalā āyatuka allā tukallima l-nāsa thalāthata ayyāmin illā ramzan wa-idhkur rabbaka kathīran wa-sabbiḥ bil-ʿashiyyi wa-alibkāri He said: "O my Lord! Give me a Sign!" "Thy Sign," was the answer, "Shall be that thou shalt speak to no man for three days but with signals. Then celebrate the praises of thy Lord again and again, and glorify Him in the evening and in the morning." |
(3:49) | وَرَسُولًا إِلَىٰ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ أَنِّى قَدْ جِئْتُكُم بِـَٔايَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ أَنِّىٓ أَخْلُقُ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلطِّينِ كَهَيْـَٔةِ ٱلطَّيْرِ فَأَنفُخُ فِيهِ فَيَكُونُ طَيْرًۢا بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّـهِ وَأُبْرِئُ ٱلْأَكْمَهَ وَٱلْأَبْرَصَ وَأُحْىِ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّـهِ وَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا تَأْكُلُونَ وَمَا تَدَّخِرُونَ فِى بُيُوتِكُمْ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةً لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ | wa‑rasūlan ilā banī isrāʾīla annī qad jiʾtukum bi‑āyatin min rabbikum annī akhluqu la‑kum mina l‑ṭīni kahayati l‑ṭayri fa‑anfukhu fīhi fa‑yakūnu ṭayran bi‑idhni allāhi wa‑ubriʾu l‑akmaha wa‑l‑abraṣa wa‑uḥi l‑mawtā bi‑idhni allāhi wa‑unabbiʾukum bi‑mā taʾkulūna wa‑mā taddakhirūna fī buyūtikum inna fī dhālika la‑āyatan la‑kum in kuntum muʾminīna | "And (appoint him) a messenger to the Children of Israel, (with
this message): "'I have come to you, with a Sign from your Lord, in that I
make for you out of clay, as it were, the figure of a bird, and breathe
into it, and it becomes a bird by Allah's leave: And I heal those born blind,
and the lepers, and I quicken the dead, by Allah's leave; and I declare to
you what ye eat, and what ye store in your houses. Surely therein is a Sign
for you if ye did believe;
Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:49 وَرَسُولًا إِلَىٰ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ أَنِّى قَدْ جِئْتُكُم بِـَٔايَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ أَنِّىٓ أَخْلُقُ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلطِّينِ كَهَيْـَٔةِ ٱلطَّيْرِ فَأَنفُخُ فِيهِ فَيَكُونُ طَيْرًۢا بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّـهِ وَأُبْرِئُ ٱلْأَكْمَهَ وَٱلْأَبْرَصَ وَأُحْىِ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّـهِ وَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا تَأْكُلُونَ وَمَا تَدَّخِرُونَ فِى بُيُوتِكُمْ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةً لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ wa-rasūlan ilā banī isrāʾīla annī qad jiʾtukum bi-āyatin min rabbikum annī akhluqu la-kum mina l-ṭīni kahayati l-ṭayri fa-anfukhu fīhi fa-yakūnu ṭayran bi-idhni allāhi wa-ubriʾu l-akmaha wa-l-abraṣa wa-uḥi l-mawtā bi-idhni allāhi wa-unabbiʾukum bi-mā taʾkulūna wa-mā taddakhirūna fī buyūtikum inna fī dhālika la-āyatan la-kum in kuntum muʾminīna "And (appoint him) a messenger to the Children of Israel, (with this message): "'I have come to you, with a Sign from your Lord, in that I make for you out of clay, as it were, the figure of a bird, and breathe into it, and it becomes a bird by Allah's leave: And I heal those born blind, and the lepers, and I quicken the dead, by Allah's leave; and I declare to you what ye eat, and what ye store in your houses. Surely therein is a Sign for you if ye did believe; |
(3:61) | فَمَنْ حَآجَّكَ فِيهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ فَقُلْ تَعَالَوْا۟ نَدْعُ أَبْنَآءَنَا وَأَبْنَآءَكُمْ وَنِسَآءَنَا وَنِسَآءَكُمْ وَأَنفُسَنَا وَأَنفُسَكُمْ ثُمَّ نَبْتَهِلْ فَنَجْعَل لَّعْنَتَ ٱللَّـهِ عَلَى ٱلْكَٰذِبِينَ | fa‑man ḥājjaka fīhi min baʿdi mā jāʾaka mina l‑ʿilmi fa‑qul taʿālaw nadʿu abnāʾanā wa‑abnāʾakum wa‑nisāʾanā wa‑nisāʾakum wa‑anfusanā wa‑anfusakum thumma nabtahil fa‑najʿal llaʿnata allāhi ʿalā l‑kādhibīna | If any one disputes in this matter with thee, now after (full)
knowledge Hath come to thee, say: "Come! let us gather together,- our sons
and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves: Then let
us earnestly pray, and invoke the curse of Allah on those who lie!"
Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:61 فَمَنْ حَآجَّكَ فِيهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ فَقُلْ تَعَالَوْا۟ نَدْعُ أَبْنَآءَنَا وَأَبْنَآءَكُمْ وَنِسَآءَنَا وَنِسَآءَكُمْ وَأَنفُسَنَا وَأَنفُسَكُمْ ثُمَّ نَبْتَهِلْ فَنَجْعَل لَّعْنَتَ ٱللَّـهِ عَلَى ٱلْكَٰذِبِينَ fa-man ḥājjaka fīhi min baʿdi mā jāʾaka mina l-ʿilmi fa-qul taʿālaw nadʿu abnāʾanā wa-abnāʾakum wa-nisāʾanā wa-nisāʾakum wa-anfusanā wa-anfusakum thumma nabtahil fa-najʿal llaʿnata allāhi ʿalā l-kādhibīna If any one disputes in this matter with thee, now after (full) knowledge Hath come to thee, say: "Come! let us gather together,- our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves: Then let us earnestly pray, and invoke the curse of Allah on those who lie!" |
(3:75) | وَمِنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ مَنْ إِن تَأْمَنْهُ بِقِنطَارٍ يُؤَدِّهِۦٓ إِلَيْكَ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ إِن تَأْمَنْهُ بِدِينَارٍ لَّا يُؤَدِّهِۦٓ إِلَيْكَ إِلَّا مَا دُمْتَ عَلَيْهِ قَآئِمًا ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا۟ لَيْسَ عَلَيْنَا فِى ٱلْأُمِّيِّۦنَ سَبِيلٌ وَيَقُولُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّـهِ ٱلْكَذِبَ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ | wa‑min ahli l‑kitābi man in tamanhu bi‑qinṭārin yuaddihi ilayka wa‑minhum man in tamanhu bi‑dīnārin lā yuaddihi ilayka illā mā dumta ʿalayhi qāʾiman dhālika bi‑annahum qālū laysa ʿalaynā fī l‑ummiyyina sabīlun wa‑yaqūlūna ʿalā allāhi l‑kadhiba wa‑hum yaʿlamūna | Among the People of the Book are some who, if entrusted with a
hoard of gold, will (readily) pay it back; others, who, if entrusted with a
single silver coin, will not repay it unless thou constantly stoodest
demanding, because, they say, "there is no call on us (to keep faith) with
these ignorant (Pagans)." but they tell a lie against Allah, and (well) they
know it.
Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:75 وَمِنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ مَنْ إِن تَأْمَنْهُ بِقِنطَارٍ يُؤَدِّهِۦٓ إِلَيْكَ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ إِن تَأْمَنْهُ بِدِينَارٍ لَّا يُؤَدِّهِۦٓ إِلَيْكَ إِلَّا مَا دُمْتَ عَلَيْهِ قَآئِمًا ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا۟ لَيْسَ عَلَيْنَا فِى ٱلْأُمِّيِّۦنَ سَبِيلٌ وَيَقُولُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّـهِ ٱلْكَذِبَ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ wa-min ahli l-kitābi man in tamanhu bi-qinṭārin yuaddihi ilayka wa-minhum man in tamanhu bi-dīnārin lā yuaddihi ilayka illā mā dumta ʿalayhi qāʾiman dhālika bi-annahum qālū laysa ʿalaynā fī l-ummiyyina sabīlun wa-yaqūlūna ʿalā allāhi l-kadhiba wa-hum yaʿlamūna Among the People of the Book are some who, if entrusted with a hoard of gold, will (readily) pay it back; others, who, if entrusted with a single silver coin, will not repay it unless thou constantly stoodest demanding, because, they say, "there is no call on us (to keep faith) with these ignorant (Pagans)." but they tell a lie against Allah, and (well) they know it. |
(3:156) | يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَكُونُوا۟ كَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَقَالُوا۟ لِإِخْوَٰنِهِمْ إِذَا ضَرَبُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أَوْ كَانُوا۟ غُزًّى لَّوْ كَانُوا۟ عِندَنَا مَا مَاتُوا۟ وَمَا قُتِلُوا۟ لِيَجْعَلَ ٱللَّـهُ ذَٰلِكَ حَسْرَةً فِى قُلُوبِهِمْ وَٱللَّـهُ يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ وَٱللَّـهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ | yā‑ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū lā takūnū kalladhīna kafarū wa‑qālū li‑ikhwānihim idhā ḍarabū fī l‑arḍi aw kānū ghuzzan law kānū ʿindanā mā mātū wa‑mā qutilū li‑yajʿala allāhu dhālika ḥasratan fī qulūbihim wallāhu yuḥyi wa‑yumītu wallāhu bi‑mā taʿmalūna baṣīrun | O ye who believe! Be not like the Unbelievers, who say of
their brethren, when they are travelling through the Earth or engaged in
fighting: "If they had stayed with us, they would not have died, or been
slain." This that Allah may make it a cause of sighs and regrets in their
hearts. It is Allah that gives Life and Death, and Allah sees well all that ye
do.
Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:156 يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَكُونُوا۟ كَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَقَالُوا۟ لِإِخْوَٰنِهِمْ إِذَا ضَرَبُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أَوْ كَانُوا۟ غُزًّى لَّوْ كَانُوا۟ عِندَنَا مَا مَاتُوا۟ وَمَا قُتِلُوا۟ لِيَجْعَلَ ٱللَّـهُ ذَٰلِكَ حَسْرَةً فِى قُلُوبِهِمْ وَٱللَّـهُ يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ وَٱللَّـهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ yā-ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū lā takūnū kalladhīna kafarū wa-qālū li-ikhwānihim idhā ḍarabū fī l-arḍi aw kānū ghuzzan law kānū ʿindanā mā mātū wa-mā qutilū li-yajʿala allāhu dhālika ḥasratan fī qulūbihim wallāhu yuḥyi wa-yumītu wallāhu bi-mā taʿmalūna baṣīrun O ye who believe! Be not like the Unbelievers, who say of their brethren, when they are travelling through the Earth or engaged in fighting: "If they had stayed with us, they would not have died, or been slain." (3:159) | فَبِمَا رَحْمَةٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّـهِ لِنتَ لَهُمْ وَلَوْ كُنتَ فَظًّا غَلِيظَ ٱلْقَلْبِ لَٱنفَضُّوا۟ مِنْ حَوْلِكَ فَٱعْفُ عَنْهُمْ وَٱسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ وَشَاوِرْهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَمْرِ فَإِذَا عَزَمْتَ فَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱللَّـهِ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُتَوَكِّلِينَ | fa‑bimā raḥmatin mina allāhi linta lahum wa‑law kunta faẓẓan ghalīẓa l‑qalbi la‑infaḍḍū min ḥawlika faʿfu ʿanhum wa‑istaghfir lahum wa‑shāwirhum fī l‑amri fa‑idhā ʿazamta fa‑tawakkal ʿalā allāhi inna allāha yuḥibbu l‑mutawakkilīna | It is part of the Mercy of Allah that thou dost deal gently with
them Wert thou severe or harsh-hearted, they would have broken away from
about thee: so pass over (Their faults), and ask for (Allah's) forgiveness
for them; and consult them in affairs (of moment). Then, when thou hast
Taken a decision put thy trust in Allah. For Allah loves those who put their
trust (in Him).
Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:159 فَبِمَا رَحْمَةٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّـهِ لِنتَ لَهُمْ وَلَوْ كُنتَ فَظًّا غَلِيظَ ٱلْقَلْبِ لَٱنفَضُّوا۟ مِنْ حَوْلِكَ فَٱعْفُ عَنْهُمْ وَٱسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ وَشَاوِرْهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَمْرِ فَإِذَا عَزَمْتَ فَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱللَّـهِ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُتَوَكِّلِينَ fa-bimā raḥmatin mina allāhi linta lahum wa-law kunta faẓẓan ghalīẓa l-qalbi la-infaḍḍū min ḥawlika faʿfu ʿanhum wa-istaghfir lahum wa-shāwirhum fī l-amri fa-idhā ʿazamta fa-tawakkal ʿalā allāhi inna allāha yuḥibbu l-mutawakkilīna It is part of the Mercy of Allah that thou dost deal gently with them Wert thou severe or harsh-hearted, they would have broken away from about thee: so pass over (Their faults), and ask for (Allah's) forgiveness for them; and consult them in affairs (of moment). (4:2) | وَءَاتُوا۟ ٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰٓ أَمْوَٰلَهُمْ وَلَا تَتَبَدَّلُوا۟ ٱلْخَبِيثَ بِٱلطَّيِّبِ وَلَا تَأْكُلُوٓا۟ أَمْوَٰلَهُمْ إِلَىٰٓ أَمْوَٰلِكُمْ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ حُوبًا كَبِيرًا | wa‑ātū al‑yatāma amwālahum wa‑lā tatabaddalū l‑khabītha bil‑ṭayyibi wa‑lā takulū amwālahum ila amwālikum innahu kāna ḥūban kabīran | To orphans restore their property (When they reach their age),
nor substitute (your) worthless things for (their) good ones; and devour
not their substance (by mixing it up) with your own. For this is indeed a
great sin.
Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:2 وَءَاتُوا۟ ٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰٓ أَمْوَٰلَهُمْ وَلَا تَتَبَدَّلُوا۟ ٱلْخَبِيثَ بِٱلطَّيِّبِ وَلَا تَأْكُلُوٓا۟ أَمْوَٰلَهُمْ إِلَىٰٓ أَمْوَٰلِكُمْ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ حُوبًا كَبِيرًا wa-ātū al-yatāma amwālahum wa-lā tatabaddalū l-khabītha bil-ṭayyibi wa-lā takulū amwālahum ila amwālikum innahu kāna ḥūban kabīran To orphans restore their property (When they reach their age), nor substitute (your) worthless things for (their) good ones; and devour not their substance (by mixing it up) with your own. For this is indeed a great sin. |
(4:3) | وَإِنْ خِفْتُمْ أَلَّا تُقْسِطُوا۟ فِى ٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ فَٱنكِحُوا۟ مَا طَابَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلنِّسَآءِ مَثْنَىٰ وَثُلَٰثَ وَرُبَٰعَ فَإِنْ خِفْتُمْ أَلَّا تَعْدِلُوا۟ فَوَٰحِدَةً أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَٰنُكُمْ ذَٰلِكَ أَدْنَىٰٓ أَلَّا تَعُولُوا۟ | wa‑in khiftum allā tuqsiṭū fī l‑yatāmā fa‑inkiḥū mā ṭāba la‑kum mina l‑nisāʾi mathna wa‑thulātha wa‑rubāʿa fa‑in khiftum allā taʿdilū fa‑wāḥidatan aw mā malakat aymānukum dhālika adnā allā taʿūlū | If ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly with the
orphans, Marry women of your choice, Two or three or four; but if ye fear
that ye shall not be able to deal justly (with them), then only one, or (a
captive) that your right hands possess, that will be more suitable, to
prevent you from doing injustice.
Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:3 وَإِنْ خِفْتُمْ أَلَّا تُقْسِطُوا۟ فِى ٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ فَٱنكِحُوا۟ مَا طَابَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلنِّسَآءِ مَثْنَىٰ وَثُلَٰثَ وَرُبَٰعَ فَإِنْ خِفْتُمْ أَلَّا تَعْدِلُوا۟ فَوَٰحِدَةً أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَٰنُكُمْ ذَٰلِكَ أَدْنَىٰٓ أَلَّا تَعُولُوا۟ wa-in khiftum allā tuqsiṭū fī l-yatāmā fa-inkiḥū mā ṭāba la-kum mina l-nisāʾi mathna wa-thulātha wa-rubāʿa fa-in khiftum allā taʿdilū fa-wāḥidatan aw mā malakat aymānukum dhālika adnā allā taʿūlū If ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly with the orphans, Marry women of your choice, Two or three or four; but if ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly (with them), then only one, or (a captive) that your right hands possess, that will be more suitable, to prevent you from doing injustice. |
(4:6) | وَٱبْتَلُوا۟ ٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا بَلَغُوا۟ ٱلنِّكَاحَ فَإِنْ ءَانَسْتُم مِّنْهُمْ رُشْدًا فَٱدْفَعُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِمْ أَمْوَٰلَهُمْ وَلَا تَأْكُلُوهَآ إِسْرَافًا وَبِدَارًا أَن يَكْبَرُوا۟ وَمَن كَانَ غَنِيًّا فَلْيَسْتَعْفِفْ وَمَن كَانَ فَقِيرًا فَلْيَأْكُلْ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ فَإِذَا دَفَعْتُمْ إِلَيْهِمْ أَمْوَٰلَهُمْ فَأَشْهِدُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّـهِ حَسِيبًا | wa‑ibtalū l‑yatāmā ḥatta idhā balaghū l‑nikāḥa fa‑in ānastum minhum rushdan fa‑idfaʿū ilayhim amwālahum wa‑lā takulūhā isrāfan wa‑bidāran an yakbarū wa‑man kāna ghaniyyan fa‑l‑yastaʿfif wa‑man kāna faqīran fa‑l‑yāʾkul bil‑maʿrūfi fa‑idhā dafaʿtum ilayhim amwālahum fa‑ashhidū ʿalayhim wa‑kafā billāhi ḥasīban | Make trial of orphans until they reach the age of marriage; if
then ye find sound judgment in them, release their property to them; but
consume it not wastefully, nor in haste against their growing up. If the
guardian is well-off, Let him claim no remuneration, but if he is poor, let
him have for himself what is just and reasonable. When ye release their
property to them, take witnesses in their presence: But all-sufficient is
Allah in taking account.
Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:6 وَٱبْتَلُوا۟ ٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا بَلَغُوا۟ ٱلنِّكَاحَ فَإِنْ ءَانَسْتُم مِّنْهُمْ رُشْدًا فَٱدْفَعُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِمْ أَمْوَٰلَهُمْ وَلَا تَأْكُلُوهَآ إِسْرَافًا وَبِدَارًا أَن يَكْبَرُوا۟ وَمَن كَانَ غَنِيًّا فَلْيَسْتَعْفِفْ وَمَن كَانَ فَقِيرًا فَلْيَأْكُلْ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ فَإِذَا دَفَعْتُمْ إِلَيْهِمْ أَمْوَٰلَهُمْ فَأَشْهِدُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّـهِ حَسِيبًا wa-ibtalū l-yatāmā ḥatta idhā balaghū l-nikāḥa fa-in ānastum minhum rushdan fa-idfaʿū ilayhim amwālahum wa-lā takulūhā isrāfan wa-bidāran an yakbarū wa-man kāna ghaniyyan fa-l-yastaʿfif wa-man kāna faqīran fa-l-yāʾkul bil-maʿrūfi fa-idhā dafaʿtum ilayhim amwālahum fa-ashhidū ʿalayhim wa-kafā billāhi ḥasīban Make trial of orphans until they reach the age of marriage; if then ye find sound judgment in them, release their property to them; but consume it not wastefully, nor in haste against their growing up. (4:21) | وَكَيْفَ تَأْخُذُونَهُۥ وَقَدْ أَفْضَىٰ بَعْضُكُمْ إِلَىٰ بَعْضٍ وَأَخَذْنَ مِنكُم مِّيثَٰقًا غَلِيظًا | wa‑kayfa taʾkhudhūnahu wa‑qad afḍa baʿḍukum ilā baʿḍin wa‑akhadhna minkum mīthāqan ghalīẓan | And how could ye take it when ye have gone in unto each other,
and they have Taken from you a solemn covenant?
Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:21 وَكَيْفَ تَأْخُذُونَهُۥ وَقَدْ أَفْضَىٰ بَعْضُكُمْ إِلَىٰ بَعْضٍ وَأَخَذْنَ مِنكُم مِّيثَٰقًا غَلِيظًا wa-kayfa taʾkhudhūnahu wa-qad afḍa baʿḍukum ilā baʿḍin wa-akhadhna minkum mīthāqan ghalīẓan And how could ye take it when ye have gone in unto each other, and they have Taken from you a solemn covenant? |
(4:51) | أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ نَصِيبًا مِّنَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْجِبْتِ وَٱلطَّٰغُوتِ وَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ أَهْدَىٰ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ سَبِيلًا | a‑lam tara ilā lladhīna ūtū naṣīban mina l‑kitābi yuʾminūna bil‑jibti wa‑l‑ṭāghūti wa‑yaqūlūna li‑lladhīna kafarū hāʾulāʾi ahdā mina lladhīna āmanū sabīlan | Hast thou not turned Thy vision to those who were given a
portion of the Book? they believe in sorcery and Evil, and say to the
Unbelievers that they are better guided in the (right) way Than the
believers!
Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:51 أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ نَصِيبًا مِّنَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْجِبْتِ وَٱلطَّٰغُوتِ وَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ أَهْدَىٰ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ سَبِيلًا a-lam tara ilā lladhīna ūtū naṣīban mina l-kitābi yuʾminūna bil-jibti wa-l-ṭāghūti wa-yaqūlūna li-lladhīna kafarū hāʾulāʾi ahdā mina lladhīna āmanū sabīlan Hast thou not turned Thy vision to those who were given a portion of the Book? they believe in sorcery and Evil, and say to the Unbelievers that they are better guided in the (right) way Than the believers! |
(4:56) | إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا سَوْفَ نُصْلِيهِمْ نَارًا كُلَّمَا نَضِجَتْ جُلُودُهُم بَدَّلْنَٰهُمْ جُلُودًا غَيْرَهَا لِيَذُوقُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ كَانَ عَزِيزًا حَكِيمًا | inna lladhīna kafarū bi‑āyātinā sawfa nuṣlīhim nāran kullamā naḍijat julūduhum baddalnāhum julūdan ghayrahā līadhūqū l‑ʿadhāba inna allāha kāna ʿazīzan ḥakīman | Those who reject our Signs, We shall soon cast into the Fire:
as often as their skins are roasted through, We shall change them for fresh
skins, that they may taste the penalty: for Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise.
Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:56 إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا سَوْفَ نُصْلِيهِمْ نَارًا كُلَّمَا نَضِجَتْ جُلُودُهُم بَدَّلْنَٰهُمْ جُلُودًا غَيْرَهَا لِيَذُوقُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ كَانَ عَزِيزًا حَكِيمًا inna lladhīna kafarū bi-āyātinā sawfa nuṣlīhim nāran kullamā naḍijat julūduhum baddalnāhum julūdan ghayrahā līadhūqū l-ʿadhāba inna allāha kāna ʿazīzan ḥakīman Those who reject our Signs, We shall soon cast into the Fire: as often as their skins are roasted through, We shall change them for fresh skins, that they may taste the penalty: for Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise. |
(4:71) | يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ خُذُوا۟ حِذْرَكُمْ فَٱنفِرُوا۟ ثُبَاتٍ أَوِ ٱنفِرُوا۟ جَمِيعًا | yā‑ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū khudhū ḥidhrakum fa‑anfirū thubātin awi infirū jamīʿan | O ye who believe! Take your precautions, and either go forth
in parties or go forth all together.
Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:71 يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ خُذُوا۟ حِذْرَكُمْ فَٱنفِرُوا۟ ثُبَاتٍ أَوِ ٱنفِرُوا۟ جَمِيعًا yā-ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū khudhū ḥidhrakum fa-anfirū thubātin awi infirū jamīʿan O ye who believe! Take your precautions, and either go forth in parties or go forth all together. |
(4:72) | وَإِنَّ مِنكُمْ لَمَن لَّيُبَطِّئَنَّ فَإِنْ أَصَٰبَتْكُم مُّصِيبَةٌ قَالَ قَدْ أَنْعَمَ ٱللَّـهُ عَلَىَّ إِذْ لَمْ أَكُن مَّعَهُمْ شَهِيدًا | wa‑inna minkum laman llayubaṭṭianna fa‑in aṣābatkum muṣībatun qalā qad anʿama allāhu ʿalayya idh lam akun maʿahum shahīdan | There are certainly among you men who would tarry behind: If a
misfortune befalls you, they say: "Allah did favour us in that we were not
present among them."
Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:72 وَإِنَّ مِنكُمْ لَمَن لَّيُبَطِّئَنَّ فَإِنْ أَصَٰبَتْكُم مُّصِيبَةٌ قَالَ قَدْ أَنْعَمَ ٱللَّـهُ عَلَىَّ إِذْ لَمْ أَكُن مَّعَهُمْ شَهِيدًا wa-inna minkum laman llayubaṭṭianna fa-in aṣābatkum muṣībatun qalā qad anʿama allāhu ʿalayya idh lam akun maʿahum shahīdan There are certainly among you men who would tarry behind: If a misfortune befalls you, they say: "Allah did favour us in that we were not present among them." |
(4:83) | وَإِذَا جَآءَهُمْ أَمْرٌ مِّنَ ٱلْأَمْنِ أَوِ ٱلْخَوْفِ أَذَاعُوا۟ بِهِۦ وَلَوْ رَدُّوهُ إِلَى ٱلرَّسُولِ وَإِلَىٰٓ أُو۟لِى ٱلْأَمْرِ مِنْهُمْ لَعَلِمَهُ ٱلَّذِينَ يَسْتَنۢبِطُونَهُۥ مِنْهُمْ وَلَوْلَا فَضْلُ ٱللَّـهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَتُهُۥ لَٱتَّبَعْتُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا | wa‑idhā jāʾahum amrun mina l‑amni awi l‑khawfi adhāʿū bihi wa‑law raddūhu ilā l‑rasūli waila ūlī l‑amri minhum laʿalimahu lladhīna yastanbiṭūnahu minhum wa‑lawlā faḍlu allāhi ʿalaykum wa‑raḥmatuhu la‑ittabaʿtumu l‑shayṭāna illā qalīlan | When there comes to them some matter touching (Public) safety
or fear, they divulge it. If they had only referred it to the Messenger, or
to those charged with authority among them, the proper investigators would
have Tested it from them (direct). Were it not for the Grace and Mercy of
Allah unto you, all but a few of you would have fallen into the clutches of
Satan.

(4:100) | وَمَن يُهَاجِرْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّـهِ يَجِدْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُرَٰغَمًا كَثِيرًا وَسَعَةً وَمَن يَخْرُجْ مِنۢ بَيْتِهِۦ مُهَاجِرًا إِلَى ٱللَّـهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ ثُمَّ يُدْرِكْهُ ٱلْمَوْتُ فَقَدْ وَقَعَ أَجْرُهُۥ عَلَى ٱللَّـهِ وَكَانَ ٱللَّـهُ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا | wa‑man yuhājir fī sabīli allāhi yajid fī l‑arḍi murāghaman kathīran wa‑saʿatan wa‑man yakhruj min baytihi muhājiran ilā allāhi wa‑rasūlihi thumma yudrikhu l‑mawtu fa‑qad waqaʿa ajruhu ʿalā allāhi wa‑kāna allāhu ghafūran raḥīman | He who forsakes his home in the cause of Allah, finds in the
earth Many a refuge, wide and spacious: Should he die as a refugee from
home for Allah and His Messenger, His reward becomes due and sure with Allah: And
Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.
Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:100 وَمَن يُهَاجِرْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّـهِ يَجِدْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُرَٰغَمًا كَثِيرًا وَسَعَةً وَمَن يَخْرُجْ مِنۢ بَيْتِهِۦ مُهَاجِرًا إِلَى ٱللَّـهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ ثُمَّ يُدْرِكْهُ ٱلْمَوْتُ فَقَدْ وَقَعَ أَجْرُهُۥ عَلَى ٱللَّـهِ وَكَانَ ٱللَّـهُ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا wa-man yuhājir fī sabīli allāhi yajid fī l-arḍi murāghaman kathīran wa-saʿatan wa-man yakhruj min baytihi muhājiran ilā allāhi wa-rasūlihi thumma yudrikhu l-mawtu fa-qad waqaʿa ajruhu ʿalā allāhi wa-kāna allāhu ghafūran raḥīman He who forsakes his home in the cause of Allah, finds in the earth Many a refuge, wide and spacious: Should he die as a refugee from home for Allah and His Messenger, His reward becomes due and sure with Allah: And Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. |
(4:119) | وَلَأُضِلَّنَّهُمْ وَلَأُمَنِّيَنَّهُمْ وَلَءَامُرَنَّهُمْ فَلَيُبَتِّكُنَّ ءَاذَانَ ٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ وَلَءَامُرَنَّهُمْ فَلَيُغَيِّرُنَّ خَلْقَ ٱللَّـهِ وَمَن يَتَّخِذِ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنَ وَلِيًّا مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّـهِ فَقَدْ خَسِرَ خُسْرَانًا مُّبِينًا | wa‑la‑uḍillannahum wa‑la‑umanniyannahum wa‑la‑āmurannahum fa‑la‑yubattikunna ādhāna l‑anʿāmi wa‑la‑āmurannahum fa‑la‑yughayyirunna khalqa allāhi wa‑man yattakhidhi l‑shayṭāna waliyyan min dūni allāhi fa‑qad khasira khusrānan mubīnan | "I will mislead them, and I will create in them false desires;
I will order them to slit the ears of cattle, and to deface the (fair)
nature created by Allah." Whoever, forsaking Allah, takes satan for a friend,
hath of a surety suffered a loss that is manifest.
Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:119 وَلَأُضِلَّنَّهُمْ وَلَأُمَنِّيَنَّهُمْ وَلَءَامُرَنَّهُمْ فَلَيُبَتِّكُنَّ ءَاذَانَ ٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ وَلَءَامُرَنَّهُمْ فَلَيُغَيِّرُنَّ خَلْقَ ٱللَّـهِ وَمَن يَتَّخِذِ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنَ وَلِيًّا مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّـهِ فَقَدْ خَسِرَ خُسْرَانًا مُّبِينًا wa-la-uḍillannahum wa-la-umanniyannahum wa-la-āmurannahum fa-la-yubattikunna ādhāna l-anʿāmi wa-la-āmurannahum fa-la-yughayyirunna khalqa allāhi wa-man yattakhidhi l-shayṭāna waliyyan min dūni allāhi fa-qad khasira khusrānan mubīnan "I will mislead them, and I will create in them false desires; I will order them to slit the ears of cattle, and to deface the (fair) nature created by Allah." Whoever, forsaking Allah, takes satan for a friend, hath of a surety suffered a loss that is manifest. |
(4:143) | مُّذَبْذَبِينَ بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ لَآ إِلَىٰ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ وَلَآ إِلَىٰ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ وَمَن يُضْلِلِ ٱللَّـهُ فَلَن تَجِدَ لَهُۥ سَبِيلًا | mudhabdhabīna bayna dhālika lā ilā hāʾulāʾi wa‑lā ilā hāʾulāʾi wa‑man yuḍlili allāhu fa‑lan tajida lahu sabīlan | (They are) distracted in mind even in the midst of it,- being
(sincerely) for neither one group nor for another whom Allah leaves
straying,- never wilt thou find for him the way.
Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:143 مُّذَبْذَبِينَ بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ لَآ إِلَىٰ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ وَلَآ إِلَىٰ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ وَمَن يُضْلِلِ ٱللَّـهُ فَلَن تَجِدَ لَهُۥ سَبِيلًا mudhabdhabīna bayna dhālika lā ilā hāʾulāʾi wa-lā ilā hāʾulāʾi wa-man yuḍlili allāhu fa-lan tajida lahu sabīlan (They are) distracted in mind even in the midst of it,- being (sincerely) for neither one group nor for another whom Allah leaves straying,- never wilt thou find for him the way. |
(5:3) | حُرِّمَتْ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْمَيْتَةُ وَٱلدَّمُ وَلَحْمُ ٱلْخِنزِيرِ وَمَآ أُهِلَّ لِغَيْرِ ٱللَّـهِ بِهِۦ وَٱلْمُنْخَنِقَةُ وَٱلْمَوْقُوذَةُ وَٱلْمُتَرَدِّيَةُ وَٱلنَّطِيحَةُ وَمَآ أَكَلَ ٱلسَّبُعُ إِلَّا مَا ذَكَّيْتُمْ وَمَا ذُبِحَ عَلَى ٱلنُّصُبِ وَأَن تَسْتَقْسِمُوا۟ بِٱلْأَزْلَٰمِ ذَٰلِكُمْ فِسْقٌ ٱلْيَوْمَ يَئِسَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن دِينِكُمْ فَلَا تَخْشَوْهُمْ وَٱخْشَوْنِ ٱلْيَوْمَ أَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمْ دِينَكُمْ وَأَتْمَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعْمَتِى وَرَضِيتُ لَكُمُ ٱلْإِسْلَٰمَ دِينًا فَمَنِ ٱضْطُرَّ فِى مَخْمَصَةٍ غَيْرَ مُتَجَانِفٍ لِّإِثْمٍ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ | ḥurrimat ʿalaykumu l‑maytatu wa‑l‑damu wa‑laḥmu l‑khinzīri wa‑mā uhilla li‑ghayri allāhi bihi wa‑l‑munkhaniqatu wa‑l‑mawqūdhatu wa‑l‑mutaraddiyatu wa‑l‑naṭīḥatu wa‑mā akala l‑sabuʿu illā mā dhakkaytum wa‑mā dhubiḥa ʿalā l‑nuṣubi wa‑an tastaqsimū bil‑azlāmi dhālikum fisqun l‑yawma yaʾisa lladhīna kafarū min dīnikum fa‑lā takhshawhum wa‑ikhshawni l‑yawma akmaltu la‑kum dīnakum wa‑atmamtu ʿalaykum niʿmatī wa‑raḍītu lakumu l‑islāma dīnan fa‑mani iḍṭurra fī makhmaṣatin ghayra mutajānifin li‑ithmin fa‑inna allāha ghafūrun raḥīmun | Forbidden to you (for food) are: dead meat, blood, the flesh
of swine, and that on which hath been invoked the name of other than Allah;
that which hath been killed by strangling, or by a violent blow, or by a
headlong fall, or by being gored to death; that which hath been (partly)
eaten by a wild animal; unless ye are able to slaughter it (in due form);
that which is sacrificed on stone (altars); (forbidden) also is the
division (of meat) by raffling with arrows: that is impiety. This day have
those who reject faith given up all hope of your religion: yet fear them
not but fear Me. This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed
My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion. But if
any is forced by hunger, with no inclination to transgression, Allah is
indeed Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.

(5:26) | قَالَ فَإِنَّهَا مُحَرَّمَةٌ عَلَيْهِمْ أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً يَتِيهُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَلَا تَأْسَ عَلَى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْفَٰسِقِينَ | qalā fainnahā muḥarramatun ʿalayhim arbaʿīna sanatan yatīhūna fī l‑arḍi fa‑lā taʾsa ʿalā l‑qawmi l‑fāsiqīna | Allah said: "Therefore will the land be out of their reach for
forty years: In distraction will they wander through the land: But sorrow
thou not over these rebellious people.
Sura al-Māʾidah 5:26 قَالَ فَإِنَّهَا مُحَرَّمَةٌ عَلَيْهِمْ أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً يَتِيهُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَلَا تَأْسَ عَلَى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْفَٰسِقِينَ qalā fainnahā muḥarramatun ʿalayhim arbaʿīna sanatan yatīhūna fī l-arḍi fa-lā taʾsa ʿalā l-qawmi l-fāsiqīna Allah said: "Therefore will the land be out of their reach for forty years: In distraction will they wander through the land: But sorrow thou not over these rebellious people. |
(5:31) | فَبَعَثَ ٱللَّـهُ غُرَابًا يَبْحَثُ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ لِيُرِيَهُۥ كَيْفَ يُوَٰرِى سَوْءَةَ أَخِيهِ قَالَ يَٰوَيْلَتَىٰٓ أَعَجَزْتُ أَنْ أَكُونَ مِثْلَ هَٰذَا ٱلْغُرَابِ فَأُوَٰرِىَ سَوْءَةَ أَخِى فَأَصْبَحَ مِنَ ٱلنَّٰدِمِينَ | fa‑baʿatha allāhu ghurāban yabḥathu fī l‑arḍi li‑yuriyahu kayfa yuwārī sawata akhīhi qalā yāwaylata aʿajaztu an akūna mithla hādhā l‑ghurābi fa‑uwāriya sawata akhī fa‑aṣbaḥa mina l‑nādimīna | Then Allah sent a raven, who scratched the ground, to show him
how to hide the shame of his brother. "Woe is me!" said he; "Was I not
even able to be as this raven, and to hide the shame of my brother?" then
he became full of regrets-
Sura al-Māʾidah 5:31 فَبَعَثَ ٱللَّـهُ غُرَابًا يَبْحَثُ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ لِيُرِيَهُۥ كَيْفَ يُوَٰرِى سَوْءَةَ أَخِيهِ قَالَ يَٰوَيْلَتَىٰٓ أَعَجَزْتُ أَنْ أَكُونَ مِثْلَ هَٰذَا ٱلْغُرَابِ فَأُوَٰرِىَ سَوْءَةَ أَخِى فَأَصْبَحَ مِنَ ٱلنَّٰدِمِينَ fa-baʿatha allāhu ghurāban yabḥathu fī l-arḍi li-yuriyahu kayfa yuwārī sawata akhīhi qalā yāwaylata aʿajaztu an akūna mithla hādhā l-ghurābi fa-uwāriya sawata akhī fa-aṣbaḥa mina l-nādimīna Then Allah sent a raven, who scratched the ground, to show him how to hide the shame of his brother. "Woe is me!" said he; "Was I not even able to be as this raven, and to hide the shame of my brother?" then he became full of regrets- |
(5:33) | إِنَّمَا جَزَٰٓؤُا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ يُحَارِبُونَ ٱللَّـهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ وَيَسْعَوْنَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَسَادًا أَن يُقَتَّلُوٓا۟ أَوْ يُصَلَّبُوٓا۟ أَوْ تُقَطَّعَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَأَرْجُلُهُم مِّنْ خِلَٰفٍ أَوْ يُنفَوْا۟ مِنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ ذَٰلِكَ لَهُمْ خِزْىٌ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَلَهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَخِرَةِ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ | innamā jazāʾu lladhīna yuḥāribūna allāha wa‑rasūlahu wa‑yasʿawna fī l‑arḍi fasādan an yuqattalū aw yuṣallabū aw tuqaṭṭaʿa aydīhim wa‑arjuluhum min khilāfin aw yunfaw mina l‑arḍi dhālika lahum khizun fī l‑dunyā wa‑lahum fī l‑akhirati ʿadhābun ʿaẓīmun | The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His
Messenger, and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is:
execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from
opposite sides, or exile from the land: that is their disgrace in this
world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the Hereafter;
Sura al-Māʾidah 5:33 إِنَّمَا جَزَٰٓؤُا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ يُحَارِبُونَ ٱللَّـهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ وَيَسْعَوْنَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَسَادًا أَن يُقَتَّلُوٓا۟ أَوْ يُصَلَّبُوٓا۟ أَوْ تُقَطَّعَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَأَرْجُلُهُم مِّنْ خِلَٰفٍ أَوْ يُنفَوْا۟ مِنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ ذَٰلِكَ لَهُمْ خِزْىٌ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَلَهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَخِرَةِ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ innamā jazāʾu lladhīna yuḥāribūna allāha wa-rasūlahu wa-yasʿawna fī l-arḍi fasādan an yuqattalū aw yuṣallabū aw tuqaṭṭaʿa aydīhim wa-arjuluhum min khilāfin aw yunfaw mina l-arḍi dhālika lahum khizun fī l-dunyā wa-lahum fī l-akhirati ʿadhābun ʿaẓīmun The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger, and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is: execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land: that is their disgrace in this world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the Hereafter; |
(5:48) | وَأَنزَلْنَآ إِلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ بِٱلْحَقِّ مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِنَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَمُهَيْمِنًا عَلَيْهِ فَٱحْكُم بَيْنَهُم بِمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّـهُ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَآءَهُمْ عَمَّا جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلْحَقِّ لِكُلٍّ جَعَلْنَا مِنكُمْ شِرْعَةً وَمِنْهَاجًا وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّـهُ لَجَعَلَكُمْ أُمَّةً وَٰحِدَةً وَلَٰكِن لِّيَبْلُوَكُمْ فِى مَآ ءَاتَىٰكُمْ فَٱسْتَبِقُوا۟ ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ إِلَى ٱللَّـهِ مَرْجِعُكُمْ جَمِيعًا فَيُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ فِيهِ تَخْتَلِفُونَ | wa‑anzalnā ilayka l‑kitāba bil‑ḥaqqi muṣaddiqan li‑mā bayna yadayhi mina l‑kitābi wa‑muhayminan ʿalayhi fa‑aḥkum baynahum bimā anzala allāhu wa‑lā tattabiʿ ahwāʾahum ʿammā jāʾaka mina l‑ḥaqqi li‑kullin jaʿalnā minkum shirʿatan wa‑minhājan wa‑law shāʾa allāhu lajaʿalakum ummatan wāḥidatan wa‑lākin li‑yabluwakum fī mā ātakum fa‑istabiqū l‑khayrāti ilā allāhi marjiʿukum jamīʿan fa‑yunabbiʾukum bi‑mā kuntum fīhi takhtalifūna | To thee We sent the Scripture in truth, confirming the
scripture that came before it, and guarding it in safety: so judge between
them by what Allah hath revealed, and follow not their vain desires,
diverging from the Truth that hath come to thee. To each among you have we
prescribed a law and an open way. If Allah had so willed, He would have made
you a single people, but (His plan is) to test you in what He hath given
you: so strive as in a race in all virtues. The goal of you all is to Allah;
it is He that will show you the truth of the matters in which ye dispute;
Sura al-Māʾidah 5:48 وَأَنزَلْنَآ إِلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ بِٱلْحَقِّ مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِنَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَمُهَيْمِنًا عَلَيْهِ فَٱحْكُم بَيْنَهُم بِمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّـهُ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَآءَهُمْ عَمَّا جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلْحَقِّ لِكُلٍّ جَعَلْنَا مِنكُمْ شِرْعَةً وَمِنْهَاجًا وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّـهُ لَجَعَلَكُمْ أُمَّةً وَٰحِدَةً وَلَٰكِن لِّيَبْلُوَكُمْ فِى مَآ ءَاتَىٰكُمْ فَٱسْتَبِقُوا۟ ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ إِلَى ٱللَّـهِ مَرْجِعُكُمْ جَمِيعًا فَيُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ فِيهِ تَخْتَلِفُونَ wa-anzalnā ilayka l-kitāba bil-ḥaqqi muṣaddiqan li-mā bayna yadayhi mina l-kitābi wa-muhayminan ʿalayhi fa-aḥkum baynahum bimā anzala allāhu wa-lā tattabiʿ ahwāʾahum ʿammā jāʾaka mina l-ḥaqqi li-kullin jaʿalnā minkum shirʿatan wa-minhājan wa-law shāʾa allāhu lajaʿalakum ummatan wāḥidatan wa-lākin li-yabluwakum fī mā ātakum fa-istabiqū l-khayrāti ilā allāhi marjiʿukum jamīʿan fa-yunabbiʾukum bi-mā kuntum fīhi takhtalifūna To thee We sent the Scripture in truth, confirming the scripture that came before it, and guarding it in safety: so judge between them by what Allah hath revealed, and follow not their vain desires, diverging from the Truth that hath come to thee. To each among you have we prescribed a law and an open way. If Allah had so willed, He would have made you a single people, but (His plan is) to test you in what He hath given you: so strive as in a race in all virtues. The goal of you all is to Allah; it is He that will show you the truth of the matters in which ye dispute; |
(5:82) | لَتَجِدَنَّ أَشَدَّ ٱلنَّاسِ عَدَٰوَةً لِّلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱلْيَهُودَ وَٱلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا۟ وَلَتَجِدَنَّ أَقْرَبَهُم مَّوَدَّةً لِّلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا نَصَٰرَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّ مِنْهُمْ قِسِّيسِينَ وَرُهْبَانًا وَأَنَّهُمْ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ | la‑tajidanna ashadda l‑nāsi ʿadāwatan li‑lladhīna āmanū l‑yahūda wa‑lladhīna ashrakū wa‑la‑tajidanna aqrabahum mawaddatan li‑lladhīna āmanū lladhīna qālū innā naṣārā dhālika bi‑anna minhum qissīsīna wa‑ruhbānan wa‑annahum lā yastakbirūna | Strongest among men in enmity to the believers wilt thou find
the Jews and Pagans; and nearest among them in love to the believers wilt
thou find those who say, "We are Christians": because amongst these are men
devoted to learning and men who have renounced the world, and they are not
arrogant.
Sura al-Māʾidah 5:82 لَتَجِدَنَّ أَشَدَّ ٱلنَّاسِ عَدَٰوَةً لِّلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱلْيَهُودَ وَٱلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا۟ وَلَتَجِدَنَّ أَقْرَبَهُم مَّوَدَّةً لِّلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا نَصَٰرَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّ مِنْهُمْ قِسِّيسِينَ وَرُهْبَانًا وَأَنَّهُمْ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ la-tajidanna ashadda l-nāsi ʿadāwatan li-lladhīna āmanū l-yahūda wa-lladhīna ashrakū wa-la-tajidanna aqrabahum mawaddatan li-lladhīna āmanū lladhīna qālū innā naṣārā dhālika bi-anna minhum qissīsīna wa-ruhbānan wa-annahum lā yastakbirūna Strongest among men in enmity to the believers wilt thou find the Jews and Pagans; and nearest among them in love to the believers wilt thou find those who say, "We are Christians": because amongst these are men devoted to learning and men who have renounced the world, and they are not arrogant. |
(5:94) | يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَيَبْلُوَنَّكُمُ ٱللَّـهُ بِشَىْءٍ مِّنَ ٱلصَّيْدِ تَنَالُهُۥٓ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَرِمَاحُكُمْ لِيَعْلَمَ ٱللَّـهُ مَن يَخَافُهُۥ بِٱلْغَيْبِ فَمَنِ ٱعْتَدَىٰ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ فَلَهُۥ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ | yā‑ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū layablūannakumu allāhu bi‑shayʾin mina l‑ṣaydi tanāluhu aydīkum wa‑rimāḥukum li‑yaʿlama allāhu man yakhāfuhu bil‑ghaybi fa‑mani aʿtada baʿda dhālika fa‑lahu ʿadhābun alīmun | O ye who believe! Allah doth but make a trial of you in a little
matter of game well within reach of game well within reach of your hands
and your lances, that He may test who feareth him unseen: any who
transgress thereafter, will have a grievous penalty.
Sura al-Māʾidah 5:94 يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَيَبْلُوَنَّكُمُ ٱللَّـهُ بِشَىْءٍ مِّنَ ٱلصَّيْدِ تَنَالُهُۥٓ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَرِمَاحُكُمْ لِيَعْلَمَ ٱللَّـهُ مَن يَخَافُهُۥ بِٱلْغَيْبِ فَمَنِ ٱعْتَدَىٰ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ فَلَهُۥ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ yā-ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū layablūannakumu allāhu bi-shayʾin mina l-ṣaydi tanāluhu aydīkum wa-rimāḥukum li-yaʿlama allāhu man yakhāfuhu bil-ghaybi fa-mani aʿtada baʿda dhālika fa-lahu ʿadhābun alīmun O ye who believe! Allah doth but make a trial of you in a little matter of game well within reach of game well within reach of your hands and your lances, that He may test who feareth him unseen: any who transgress thereafter, will have a grievous penalty. |
(5:103) | مَا جَعَلَ ٱللَّـهُ مِنۢ بَحِيرَةٍ وَلَا سَآئِبَةٍ وَلَا وَصِيلَةٍ وَلَا حَامٍ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّـهِ ٱلْكَذِبَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ | mā jaʿala allāhu min baḥīratin wa‑lā sāʾibatin wa‑lā waṣīlatin wa‑lā ḥāmin wa‑lākinna lladhīna kafarū yaftarūna ʿalā allāhi l‑kadhiba waaktharuhum lā yaʿqilūna | It was not Allah who instituted (superstitions like those of) a
slit-ear she-camel, or a she-camel let loose for free pasture, or idol
sacrifices for twin-births in animals, or stallion-camels freed from work:
It is blasphemers who invent a lie against Allah; but most of them lack
wisdom.
Sura al-Māʾidah 5:103 مَا جَعَلَ ٱللَّـهُ مِنۢ بَحِيرَةٍ وَلَا سَآئِبَةٍ وَلَا وَصِيلَةٍ وَلَا حَامٍ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّـهِ ٱلْكَذِبَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ mā jaʿala allāhu min baḥīratin wa-lā sāʾibatin wa-lā waṣīlatin wa-lā ḥāmin wa-lākinna lladhīna kafarū yaftarūna ʿalā allāhi l-kadhiba waaktharuhum lā yaʿqilūna It was not Allah who instituted (superstitions like those of) a slit-ear she-camel, or a she-camel let loose for free pasture, or idol sacrifices for twin-births in animals, or stallion-camels freed from work: It is blasphemers who invent a lie against Allah; but most of them lack wisdom. |
(6:71) | قُلْ أَنَدْعُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّـهِ مَا لَا يَنفَعُنَا وَلَا يَضُرُّنَا وَنُرَدُّ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْقَابِنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَىٰنَا ٱللَّـهُ كَٱلَّذِى ٱسْتَهْوَتْهُ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينُ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ حَيْرَانَ لَهُۥٓ أَصْحَٰبٌ يَدْعُونَهُۥٓ إِلَى ٱلْهُدَى ٱئْتِنَا قُلْ إِنَّ هُدَى ٱللَّـهِ هُوَ ٱلْهُدَىٰ وَأُمِرْنَا لِنُسْلِمَ لِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ | qul anadʿū min dūni allāhi mā lā yanfaʿunā wa‑lā yaḍurrunā wa‑nuraddu ʿala aʿqābinā baʿda idh hadanā allāhu ka‑lladhī istahwathu l‑shayāṭīnu fī l‑arḍi ḥayrāna lahu aṣḥābun yadʿūnahu ilā al‑huda iʾtinā qul inna huda allāhi huwa l‑hudā wa‑umirnā linuslima li‑rabbi l‑ʿālamīna | Say: "Shall we indeed call on others besides Allah,- things that
can do us neither good nor harm,- and turn on our heels after receiving
guidance from Allah? - like one whom the evil ones have made into a fool,
wandering bewildered through the earth, his friends calling, come to us',
(vainly) guiding him to the path." Say: "Allah's guidance is the (only)
guidance, and we have been directed to submit ourselves to the Lord of the
worlds;-
Sura al-Anʿām 6:71 قُلْ أَنَدْعُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّـهِ مَا لَا يَنفَعُنَا وَلَا يَضُرُّنَا وَنُرَدُّ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْقَابِنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَىٰنَا ٱللَّـهُ كَٱلَّذِى ٱسْتَهْوَتْهُ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينُ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ حَيْرَانَ لَهُۥٓ أَصْحَٰبٌ يَدْعُونَهُۥٓ إِلَى ٱلْهُدَى ٱئْتِنَا قُلْ إِنَّ هُدَى ٱللَّـهِ هُوَ ٱلْهُدَىٰ وَأُمِرْنَا لِنُسْلِمَ لِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ qul anadʿū min dūni allāhi mā lā yanfaʿunā wa-lā yaḍurrunā wa-nuraddu ʿala aʿqābinā baʿda idh hadanā allāhu ka-lladhī istahwathu l-shayāṭīnu fī l-arḍi ḥayrāna lahu aṣḥābun yadʿūnahu ilā al-huda iʾtinā qul inna huda allāhi huwa l-hudā wa-umirnā linuslima li-rabbi l-ʿālamīna Say: "Shall we indeed call on others besides Allah,- things that can do us neither good nor harm,- and turn on our heels after receiving guidance from Allah? - like one whom the evil ones have made into a fool, wandering bewildered through the earth, his friends calling, come to us', (vainly) guiding him to the path." (6:95) | إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ فَالِقُ ٱلْحَبِّ وَٱلنَّوَىٰ يُخْرِجُ ٱلْحَىَّ مِنَ ٱلْمَيِّتِ وَمُخْرِجُ ٱلْمَيِّتِ مِنَ ٱلْحَىِّ ذَٰلِكُمُ ٱللَّـهُ فَأَنَّىٰ تُؤْفَكُونَ | inna allāha fāliqu l‑ḥabbi wa‑l‑nawa yukhriju l‑ḥayya mina l‑mayyiti wa‑mukhriju l‑mayyiti mina l‑ḥayyi dhālikumu allāhu fa‑annā tuʾfakūna | It is Allah Who causeth the seed-grain and the date-stone to
split and sprout. He causeth the living to issue from the dead, and He is
the one to cause the dead to issue from the living. That is Allah: then how
are ye deluded away from the truth?
Sura al-Anʿām 6:95 إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ فَالِقُ ٱلْحَبِّ وَٱلنَّوَىٰ يُخْرِجُ ٱلْحَىَّ مِنَ ٱلْمَيِّتِ وَمُخْرِجُ ٱلْمَيِّتِ مِنَ ٱلْحَىِّ ذَٰلِكُمُ ٱللَّـهُ فَأَنَّىٰ تُؤْفَكُونَ inna allāha fāliqu l-ḥabbi wa-l-nawa yukhriju l-ḥayya mina l-mayyiti wa-mukhriju l-mayyiti mina l-ḥayyi dhālikumu allāhu fa-annā tuʾfakūna It is Allah Who causeth the seed-grain and the date-stone to split and sprout. He causeth the living to issue from the dead, and He is the one to cause the dead to issue from the living. That is Allah: then how are ye deluded away from the truth? |
(6:99) | وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَأَخْرَجْنَا بِهِۦ نَبَاتَ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ فَأَخْرَجْنَا مِنْهُ خَضِرًا نُّخْرِجُ مِنْهُ حَبًّا مُّتَرَاكِبًا وَمِنَ ٱلنَّخْلِ مِن طَلْعِهَا قِنْوَانٌ دَانِيَةٌ وَجَنَّٰتٍ مِّنْ أَعْنَابٍ وَٱلزَّيْتُونَ وَٱلرُّمَّانَ مُشْتَبِهًا وَغَيْرَ مُتَشَٰبِهٍ ٱنظُرُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ ثَمَرِهِۦٓ إِذَآ أَثْمَرَ وَيَنْعِهِۦٓ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكُمْ لَءَايَٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ | wa‑huwa alladhī anzala mina l‑samāʾi māʾan fa‑akhrajnā bihi nabāta kulli shayʾin fa‑akhrajnā minhu khaḍiran nnukhriju minhu ḥabban mutarākiban wa‑mina l‑nakhli min ṭalʿihā qinwānun dāniyatun wa‑jannātin min aʿnābin wa‑l‑zaytūna wa‑l‑rummāna mushtabihan wa‑ghayra mutashābihin anẓurū ilā thamarihi idhā athmara wa‑yanʿihi inna fī dhālikum la‑āyātin li‑qawmin yuʾminūna | It is He Who sendeth down rain from the skies: with it We
produce vegetation of all kinds: from some We produce green (crops), out of
which We produce grain, heaped up (at harvest); out of the date-palm and
its sheaths (or spathes) (come) clusters of dates hanging low and near: and
(then there are) gardens of grapes, and olives, and pomegranates, each
similar (in kind) yet different (in variety): when they begin to bear
fruit, feast your eyes with the fruit and the ripeness thereof. Behold! in
these things there are signs for people who believe.
Sura al-Anʿām 6:99 وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَأَخْرَجْنَا بِهِۦ نَبَاتَ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ فَأَخْرَجْنَا مِنْهُ خَضِرًا نُّخْرِجُ مِنْهُ حَبًّا مُّتَرَاكِبًا وَمِنَ ٱلنَّخْلِ مِن طَلْعِهَا قِنْوَانٌ دَانِيَةٌ وَجَنَّٰتٍ مِّنْ أَعْنَابٍ وَٱلزَّيْتُونَ وَٱلرُّمَّانَ مُشْتَبِهًا وَغَيْرَ مُتَشَٰبِهٍ ٱنظُرُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ ثَمَرِهِۦٓ إِذَآ أَثْمَرَ وَيَنْعِهِۦٓ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكُمْ لَءَايَٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ wa-huwa alladhī anzala mina l-samāʾi māʾan fa-akhrajnā bihi nabāta kulli shayʾin fa-akhrajnā minhu khaḍiran nnukhriju minhu ḥabban mutarākiban wa-mina l-nakhli min ṭalʿihā qinwānun dāniyatun wa-jannātin min aʿnābin wa-l-zaytūna wa-l-rummāna mushtabihan wa-ghayra mutashābihin anẓurū ilā thamarihi idhā athmara wa-yanʿihi inna fī dhālikum la-āyātin li-qawmin yuʾminūna It is He Who sendeth down rain from the skies: with it We produce vegetation of all kinds: from some We produce green (crops), out of which We produce grain, heaped up (at harvest); out of the date-palm and its sheaths (or spathes) (come) clusters of dates hanging low and near: and (then there are) gardens of grapes, and olives, and pomegranates, each similar (in kind) yet different (in variety): when they begin to bear fruit, feast your eyes with the fruit and the ripeness thereof. (6:143) | ثَمَٰنِيَةَ أَزْوَٰجٍ مِّنَ ٱلضَّأْنِ ٱثْنَيْنِ وَمِنَ ٱلْمَعْزِ ٱثْنَيْنِ قُلْ ءَآلذَّكَرَيْنِ حَرَّمَ أَمِ ٱلْأُنثَيَيْنِ أَمَّا ٱشْتَمَلَتْ عَلَيْهِ أَرْحَامُ ٱلْأُنثَيَيْنِ نَبِّـُٔونِى بِعِلْمٍ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ | thamāniyata azwājin mina l‑ḍani ithnayni wa‑mina l‑maʿzi ithnayni qul ā‑l‑dhakarayni ḥarrama ami l‑unthayayni a‑mā ishtamalat ʿalayhi arḥāmu l‑unthayayni nabbiʾunī bi‑ʿilmin in kuntum ṣādiqīna | (Take) eight (head of cattle) in (four) pairs: of sheep a
pair, and of goats a pair; say, hath He forbidden the two males, or the two
females, or (the young) which the wombs of the two females enclose? Tell me
with knowledge if ye are truthful:
Sura al-Anʿām 6:143 ثَمَٰنِيَةَ أَزْوَٰجٍ مِّنَ ٱلضَّأْنِ ٱثْنَيْنِ وَمِنَ ٱلْمَعْزِ ٱثْنَيْنِ قُلْ ءَآلذَّكَرَيْنِ حَرَّمَ أَمِ ٱلْأُنثَيَيْنِ أَمَّا ٱشْتَمَلَتْ عَلَيْهِ أَرْحَامُ ٱلْأُنثَيَيْنِ نَبِّـُٔونِى بِعِلْمٍ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ thamāniyata azwājin mina l-ḍani ithnayni wa-mina l-maʿzi ithnayni qul ā-l-dhakarayni ḥarrama ami l-unthayayni a-mā ishtamalat ʿalayhi arḥāmu l-unthayayni nabbiʾunī bi-ʿilmin in kuntum ṣādiqīna (Take) eight (head of cattle) in (four) pairs: of sheep a pair, and of goats a pair; say, hath He forbidden the two males, or the two females, or (the young) which the wombs of the two females enclose? Tell me with knowledge if ye are truthful: |
(6:146) | وَعَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ هَادُوا۟ حَرَّمْنَا كُلَّ ذِى ظُفُرٍ وَمِنَ ٱلْبَقَرِ وَٱلْغَنَمِ حَرَّمْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ شُحُومَهُمَآ إِلَّا مَا حَمَلَتْ ظُهُورُهُمَآ أَوِ ٱلْحَوَايَآ أَوْ مَا ٱخْتَلَطَ بِعَظْمٍ ذَٰلِكَ جَزَيْنَٰهُم بِبَغْيِهِمْ وَإِنَّا لَصَٰدِقُونَ | wa‑ʿala lladhīna hādū ḥarramnā kulla dhī ẓufurin wa‑mina l‑baqari wa‑l‑ghanami ḥarramnā ʿalayhim shuḥūmahumā illā mā ḥamalat ẓuhūruhumā awi al‑ḥawāyā aw mā ikhtalaṭa biʿaẓmin dhālika jazaynāhum bi‑baghyihim wa‑innā la‑ṣādiqūna | For those who followed the Jewish Law, We forbade every
(animal) with undivided hoof, and We forbade them that fat of the ox and
the sheep, except what adheres to their backs or their entrails, or is
mixed up with a bone: this in recompense for their wilful disobedience: for
We are true (in Our ordinances).
Sura al-Anʿām 6:146 وَعَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ هَادُوا۟ حَرَّمْنَا كُلَّ ذِى ظُفُرٍ وَمِنَ ٱلْبَقَرِ وَٱلْغَنَمِ حَرَّمْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ شُحُومَهُمَآ إِلَّا مَا حَمَلَتْ ظُهُورُهُمَآ أَوِ ٱلْحَوَايَآ أَوْ مَا ٱخْتَلَطَ بِعَظْمٍ ذَٰلِكَ جَزَيْنَٰهُم بِبَغْيِهِمْ وَإِنَّا لَصَٰدِقُونَ wa-ʿala lladhīna hādū ḥarramnā kulla dhī ẓufurin wa-mina l-baqari wa-l-ghanami ḥarramnā ʿalayhim shuḥūmahumā illā mā ḥamalat ẓuhūruhumā awi al-ḥawāyā aw mā ikhtalaṭa biʿaẓmin dhālika jazaynāhum bi-baghyihim wa-innā la-ṣādiqūna For those who followed the Jewish Law, We forbade every (animal) with undivided hoof, and We forbade them that fat of the ox and the sheep, except what adheres to their backs or their entrails, or is mixed up with a bone: this in recompense for their wilful disobedience: for We are true (in Our ordinances). |
(7:18) | قَالَ ٱخْرُجْ مِنْهَا مَذْءُومًا مَّدْحُورًا لَّمَن تَبِعَكَ مِنْهُمْ لَأَمْلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ | qalā ikhruj minhā madhʾūman madḥūran llaman tabiʿaka minhum la‑amlaʾanna jahannama minkum ajmaʿīna | (Allah) said: "Get out from this, disgraced and expelled. If any
of them follow thee,- Hell will I fill with you all.
Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:18 قَالَ ٱخْرُجْ مِنْهَا مَذْءُومًا مَّدْحُورًا لَّمَن تَبِعَكَ مِنْهُمْ لَأَمْلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ qalā ikhruj minhā madhʾūman madḥūran llaman tabiʿaka minhum la-amlaʾanna jahannama minkum ajmaʿīna (Allah) said: "Get out from this, disgraced and expelled. If any of them follow thee,- Hell will I fill with you all. |
(7:26) | يَٰبَنِىٓ ءَادَمَ قَدْ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْكُمْ لِبَاسًا يُوَٰرِى سَوْءَٰتِكُمْ وَرِيشًا وَلِبَاسُ ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّـهِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَذَّكَّرُونَ | yā‑banī ādama qad anzalnā ʿalaykum libāsan yuwārī sawʾātikum wa‑rīshan wa‑libāsu l‑taqwā dhālika khayrun dhālika min āyāti allāhi la‑ʿallahum yadhdhakkarūna | O ye Children of Adam! We have bestowed raiment upon you to
cover your shame, as well as to be an adornment to you. But the raiment of
righteousness,- that is the best. Such are among the Signs of Allah, that
they may receive admonition!

(7:54) | إِنَّ رَبَّكُمُ ٱللَّـهُ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ فِى سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ ثُمَّ ٱسْتَوَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْعَرْشِ يُغْشِى ٱلَّيْلَ ٱلنَّهَارَ يَطْلُبُهُۥ حَثِيثًا وَٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ وَٱلنُّجُومَ مُسَخَّرَٰتٍۭ بِأَمْرِهِۦٓ أَلَا لَهُ ٱلْخَلْقُ وَٱلْأَمْرُ تَبَارَكَ ٱللَّـهُ رَبُّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ | inna rabbakumu allāhu alladhī khalaqa l‑samāwāti wa‑l‑arḍa fī sittati ayyāmin thumma istawā ʿalā l‑ʿarshi yughshī l‑layla l‑nahāra yaṭlubuhu ḥathīthan wa‑l‑shamsa wa‑l‑qamara wa‑l‑nujūma musakhkharātin bi‑amrihi āla lahu l‑khalqu wa‑l‑amru tabāraka allāhu rabbu l‑ʿālamīna | Your Guardian-Lord is Allah, Who created the heavens and the
earth in six days, and is firmly established on the throne (of authority):
He draweth the night as a veil o'er the day, each seeking the other in
rapid succession: He created the sun, the moon, and the stars, (all)
governed by laws under His command. Is it not His to create and to govern?
Blessed be Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds!

(7:58) | وَٱلْبَلَدُ ٱلطَّيِّبُ يَخْرُجُ نَبَاتُهُۥ بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِۦ وَٱلَّذِى خَبُثَ لَا يَخْرُجُ إِلَّا نَكِدًا كَذَٰلِكَ نُصَرِّفُ ٱلْأَيَٰتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَشْكُرُونَ | wal‑baladu l‑ṭayyibu yakhruju nabātuhu bi‑idhni rabbihi wa‑lladhī khabutha lā yakhruju illā nakidan ka‑dhālika nuṣarrifu l‑ayāti li‑qawmin yashkurūna | From the land that is clean and good, by the will of its
Cherisher, springs up produce, (rich) after its kind: but from the land
that is bad, springs up nothing but that which is niggardly: thus do we
explain the signs by various (symbols) to those who are grateful.
Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:58 وَٱلْبَلَدُ ٱلطَّيِّبُ يَخْرُجُ نَبَاتُهُۥ بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِۦ وَٱلَّذِى خَبُثَ لَا يَخْرُجُ إِلَّا نَكِدًا كَذَٰلِكَ نُصَرِّفُ ٱلْأَيَٰتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَشْكُرُونَ wal-baladu l-ṭayyibu yakhruju nabātuhu bi-idhni rabbihi wa-lladhī khabutha lā yakhruju illā nakidan ka-dhālika nuṣarrifu l-ayāti li-qawmin yashkurūna From the land that is clean and good, by the will of its Cherisher, springs up produce, (rich) after its kind: but from the land that is bad, springs up nothing but that which is niggardly: thus do we explain the signs by various (symbols) to those who are grateful. |
(7:74) | وَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ إِذْ جَعَلَكُمْ خُلَفَآءَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ عَادٍ وَبَوَّأَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ تَتَّخِذُونَ مِن سُهُولِهَا قُصُورًا وَتَنْحِتُونَ ٱلْجِبَالَ بُيُوتًا فَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ ءَالَآءَ ٱللَّـهِ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ | wa‑idhkurū idh jaʿalakum khulafāʾa min baʿdi ʿādin wa‑bawwaʾakum fī l‑arḍi tattakhidhūna min suhūlihā quṣūran wa‑tanḥitūna l‑jibāla buyūtan fa‑udhkurū ālāʾa allāhi wa‑lā taʿthaw fī l‑arḍi mufsidīna | "And remember how He made you inheritors after the 'Ad people
and gave you habitations in the land: ye build for yourselves palaces and
castles in (open) plains, and care out homes in the mountains; so bring to
remembrance the benefits (ye have received) from Allah, and refrain from evil
and mischief on the earth."
Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:74 وَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ إِذْ جَعَلَكُمْ خُلَفَآءَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ عَادٍ وَبَوَّأَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ تَتَّخِذُونَ مِن سُهُولِهَا قُصُورًا وَتَنْحِتُونَ ٱلْجِبَالَ بُيُوتًا فَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ ءَالَآءَ ٱللَّـهِ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ wa-idhkurū idh jaʿalakum khulafāʾa min baʿdi ʿādin wa-bawwaʾakum fī l-arḍi tattakhidhūna min suhūlihā quṣūran wa-tanḥitūna l-jibāla buyūtan fa-udhkurū ālāʾa allāhi wa-lā taʿthaw fī l-arḍi mufsidīna "And remember how He made you inheritors after the 'Ad people and gave you habitations in the land: ye build for yourselves palaces and castles in (open) plains, and care out homes in the mountains; so bring to remembrance the benefits (ye have received) from Allah, and refrain from evil and mischief on the earth." |
(7:133) | فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلطُّوفَانَ وَٱلْجَرَادَ وَٱلْقُمَّلَ وَٱلضَّفَادِعَ وَٱلدَّمَ ءَايَٰتٍ مُّفَصَّلَٰتٍ فَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ وَكَانُوا۟ قَوْمًا مُّجْرِمِينَ | fa‑arsalnā ʿalayhimu l‑ṭūfāna wa‑l‑jarāda wa‑l‑qummala wa‑l‑ḍafādiʿa wa‑l‑dama āyātin mufaṣṣalātin fa‑istakbarū wa‑kānū qawman mujrimīna | So We sent (plagues) on them: Wholesale death, Locusts, Lice,
Frogs, And Blood: Signs openly self-explained: but they were steeped in
arrogance,- a people given to sin.
Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:133 فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلطُّوفَانَ وَٱلْجَرَادَ وَٱلْقُمَّلَ وَٱلضَّفَادِعَ وَٱلدَّمَ ءَايَٰتٍ مُّفَصَّلَٰتٍ فَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ وَكَانُوا۟ قَوْمًا مُّجْرِمِينَ fa-arsalnā ʿalayhimu l-ṭūfāna wa-l-jarāda wa-l-qummala wa-l-ḍafādiʿa wa-l-dama āyātin mufaṣṣalātin fa-istakbarū wa-kānū qawman mujrimīna So We sent (plagues) on them: Wholesale death, Locusts, Lice, Frogs, And Blood: Signs openly self-explained: but they were steeped in arrogance,- a people given to sin. |
