Sura al-Anfāl 8:7

وَإِذْ يَعِدُكُمُ ٱللَّـهُ إِحْدَى ٱلطَّآئِفَتَيْنِ أَنَّهَا لَكُمْ وَتَوَدُّونَ أَنَّ غَيْرَ ذَاتِ ٱلشَّوْكَةِ تَكُونُ لَكُمْ وَيُرِيدُ ٱللَّـهُ أَن يُحِقَّ ٱلْحَقَّ بِكَلِمَٰتِهِۦ وَيَقْطَعَ دَابِرَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ

wa-idh yaʿidukumu allāhu iḥda l-ṭāʾifatayni annahā la-kum wa-tawaddūna annā ghayra dhāti l-shawkati takūnu la-kum wa-yurīdu allāhu an yuḥiqqa l-ḥaqqa bi-kalimātihi wa-yaqṭaʿa dābira l-kāfirīna

Behold! Allah promised you one of the two (enemy) parties, that it should be yours: Ye wished that the one unarmed should be yours, but Allah willed to justify the Truth according to His words and to cut off the roots of the Unbelievers;-

Sura al-Anfāl 8:15

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِذَا لَقِيتُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ زَحْفًا فَلَا تُوَلُّوهُمُ ٱلْأَدْبَارَ

yā-ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū idhā laqītumu lladhīna kafarū zaḥfan fa-lā tuwallūhumu l-adbāra

O ye who believe! when ye meet the Unbelievers in hostile array, never turn your backs to them.

Sura al-Anfāl 8:16

وَمَن يُوَلِّهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ دُبُرَهُۥٓ إِلَّا مُتَحَرِّفًا لِّقِتَالٍ أَوْ مُتَحَيِّزًا إِلَىٰ فِئَةٍ فَقَدْ بَآءَ بِغَضَبٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّـهِ وَمَأْوَىٰهُ جَهَنَّمُ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمَصِيرُ

wa-man yuwallihim yawmaʾidhin duburahu illā mutaḥarrifan lliqitālin aw mutaḥayyizan ilā fiʾatin fa-qad bāʾa bighaḍabin mina allāhi wa-maʾwāhu jahannamu wa-biʾsa l-maṣīru

If any do turn his back to them on such a day - unless it be in a stratagem of war, or to retreat to a troop (of his own)- he draws on himself the wrath of Allah, and his abode is Hell,- an evil refuge (indeed)!

Sura al-Anfāl 8:35

وَمَا كَانَ صَلَاتُهُمْ عِندَ ٱلْبَيْتِ إِلَّا مُكَآءً وَتَصْدِيَةً فَذُوقُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ

wa-mā kāna ṣalātuhum ʿinda l-bayti illā mukāʾan wa-taṣdiyatan fa-dhūqū l-ʿadhāba bi-mā kuntum takfurūna

Their prayer at the House (of Allah) is nothing but whistling and clapping of hands: (Its only answer can be), "Taste ye the penalty because ye blasphemed."

Sura al-Anfāl 8:57

فَإِمَّا تَثْقَفَنَّهُمْ فِى ٱلْحَرْبِ فَشَرِّدْ بِهِم مَّنْ خَلْفَهُمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَذَّكَّرُونَ

fa-immā tathqafannahum fī l-ḥarbi fa-sharrid bihim man khalfahum la-ʿallahum yadhdhakkarūna

If ye gain the mastery over them in war, disperse, with them, those who follow them, that they may remember.
