(3:62) | إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلْقَصَصُ ٱلْحَقُّ وَمَا مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ إِلَّا ٱللَّـهُ وَإِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ | inna hādhā la‑huwa l‑qaṣaṣu l‑ḥaqqu wa‑mā min ilāhin illā allāhu wa‑inna allāha la‑huwa l‑ʿazīzu l‑ḥakīmu | This is the true account: There is no god except Allah; and
Allah-He is indeed the Exalted in Power, the Wise.
Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:62 إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلْقَصَصُ ٱلْحَقُّ وَمَا مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ إِلَّا ٱللَّـهُ وَإِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ inna hādhā la-huwa l-qaṣaṣu l-ḥaqqu wa-mā min ilāhin illā allāhu wa-inna allāha la-huwa l-ʿazīzu l-ḥakīmu This is the true account: There is no god except Allah; and Allah-He is indeed the Exalted in Power, the Wise. |
(7:176) | وَلَوْ شِئْنَا لَرَفَعْنَٰهُ بِهَا وَلَٰكِنَّهُۥٓ أَخْلَدَ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱتَّبَعَ هَوَىٰهُ فَمَثَلُهُۥ كَمَثَلِ ٱلْكَلْبِ إِن تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْهِ يَلْهَثْ أَوْ تَتْرُكْهُ يَلْهَث ذَّٰلِكَ مَثَلُ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا فَٱقْصُصِ ٱلْقَصَصَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ | wa‑law shiʾnā la‑rafaʿnāhu bihā wa‑lā‑kinnahu akhlada ilā l‑arḍi wa‑ittabaʿa hawahu fa‑mathaluhu ka‑mathali l‑kalbi in taḥmil ʿalayhi yalhath aw tatrukhu yalhath dhālika mathalu l‑qawmi lladhīna kadhdhabū bi‑āyātinā fa‑iqṣuṣi l‑qaṣaṣa la‑ʿallahum yatafakkarūna | If it had been Our will, We should have elevated him with Our
signs; but he inclined to the earth, and followed his own vain desires. His
similitude is that of a dog: if you attack him, he lolls out his tongue, or
if you leave him alone, he (still) lolls out his tongue. That is the
similitude of those who reject Our signs; So relate the story; perchance
they may reflect.
Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:176 وَلَوْ شِئْنَا لَرَفَعْنَٰهُ بِهَا وَلَٰكِنَّهُۥٓ أَخْلَدَ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱتَّبَعَ هَوَىٰهُ فَمَثَلُهُۥ كَمَثَلِ ٱلْكَلْبِ إِن تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْهِ يَلْهَثْ أَوْ تَتْرُكْهُ يَلْهَث ذَّٰلِكَ مَثَلُ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا فَٱقْصُصِ ٱلْقَصَصَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ wa-law shiʾnā la-rafaʿnāhu bihā wa-lā-kinnahu akhlada ilā l-arḍi wa-ittabaʿa hawahu fa-mathaluhu ka-mathali l-kalbi in taḥmil ʿalayhi yalhath aw tatrukhu yalhath dhālika mathalu l-qawmi lladhīna kadhdhabū bi-āyātinā fa-iqṣuṣi l-qaṣaṣa la-ʿallahum yatafakkarūna If it had been Our will, We should have elevated him with Our signs; but he inclined to the earth, and followed his own vain desires. (12:3) | نَحْنُ نَقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ أَحْسَنَ ٱلْقَصَصِ بِمَآ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْكَ هَٰذَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ وَإِن كُنتَ مِن قَبْلِهِۦ لَمِنَ ٱلْغَٰفِلِينَ | naḥnu naquṣṣu ʿalayka aḥsana l‑qaṣaṣi bimā awḥaynā ilayka hādhā l‑qurʾāna wa‑in kunta min qablihi la‑mina l‑ghāfilīna | We do relate unto thee the most beautiful of stories, in that
We reveal to thee this (portion of the) Qur'an: before this, thou too was
among those who knew it not.
Sura Yūsuf 12:3 نَحْنُ نَقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ أَحْسَنَ ٱلْقَصَصِ بِمَآ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْكَ هَٰذَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ وَإِن كُنتَ مِن قَبْلِهِۦ لَمِنَ ٱلْغَٰفِلِينَ naḥnu naquṣṣu ʿalayka aḥsana l-qaṣaṣi bimā awḥaynā ilayka hādhā l-qurʾāna wa-in kunta min qablihi la-mina l-ghāfilīna We do relate unto thee the most beautiful of stories, in that We reveal to thee this (portion of the) Qur'an: before this, thou too was among those who knew it not. |
(12:111) | لَقَدْ كَانَ فِى قَصَصِهِمْ عِبْرَةٌ لِّأُو۟لِى ٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ مَا كَانَ حَدِيثًا يُفْتَرَىٰ وَلَٰكِن تَصْدِيقَ ٱلَّذِى بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَتَفْصِيلَ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ | la‑qad kāna fī qaṣaṣihim ʿibratun li‑lūlī l‑albābi mā kāna ḥadīthan yuftara wa‑lākin taṣdīqa alladhī bayna yadayhi wa‑tafṣīla kulli shayʾin wa‑hudan wa‑raḥmatan li‑qawmin yuʾminūna | There is, in their stories, instruction for men endued with
understanding. It is not a tale invented, but a confirmation of what went
before it,- a detailed exposition of all things, and a guide and a mercy to
any such as believe.
Sura Yūsuf 12:111 لَقَدْ كَانَ فِى قَصَصِهِمْ عِبْرَةٌ لِّأُو۟لِى ٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ مَا كَانَ حَدِيثًا يُفْتَرَىٰ وَلَٰكِن تَصْدِيقَ ٱلَّذِى بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَتَفْصِيلَ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ la-qad kāna fī qaṣaṣihim ʿibratun li-lūlī l-albābi mā kāna ḥadīthan yuftara wa-lākin taṣdīqa alladhī bayna yadayhi wa-tafṣīla kulli shayʾin wa-hudan wa-raḥmatan li-qawmin yuʾminūna There is, in their stories, instruction for men endued with understanding. (18:64) | قَالَ ذَٰلِكَ مَا كُنَّا نَبْغِ فَٱرْتَدَّا عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَارِهِمَا قَصَصًا | qalā dhālika mā kunnā nabghi fa‑irtaddā ʿala āthārihimā qaṣaṣan | Moses said: "That was what we were seeking after:" So they
went back on their footsteps, following (the path they had come).
Sura al-Kahf 18:64 قَالَ ذَٰلِكَ مَا كُنَّا نَبْغِ فَٱرْتَدَّا عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَارِهِمَا قَصَصًا qalā dhālika mā kunnā nabghi fa-irtaddā ʿala āthārihimā qaṣaṣan Moses said: "That was what we were seeking after:" So they went back on their footsteps, following (the path they had come). |
(28:25) | فَجَآءَتْهُ إِحْدَىٰهُمَا تَمْشِى عَلَى ٱسْتِحْيَآءٍ قَالَتْ إِنَّ أَبِى يَدْعُوكَ لِيَجْزِيَكَ أَجْرَ مَا سَقَيْتَ لَنَا فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُۥ وَقَصَّ عَلَيْهِ ٱلْقَصَصَ قَالَ لَا تَخَفْ نَجَوْتَ مِنَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ | fajāathu iḥdāhumā tamshī ʿalā astiḥyāin qālat inna abī yadʿūka līajzīaka ajra mā saqayta la‑nā fa‑lammā jāʾahu wa‑qaṣṣa ʿalayhi l‑qaṣaṣa qalā lā takhaf najawta mina l‑qawmi l‑ẓālimīna | Afterwards one of the (damsels) came (back) to him, walking
bashfully. She said: "My father invites thee that he may reward thee for
having watered (our flocks) for us." So when he came to him and narrated
the story, he said: "Fear thou not: (well) hast thou escaped from unjust
people."
Sura al-Qaṣaṣ 28:25 فَجَآءَتْهُ إِحْدَىٰهُمَا تَمْشِى عَلَى ٱسْتِحْيَآءٍ قَالَتْ إِنَّ أَبِى يَدْعُوكَ لِيَجْزِيَكَ أَجْرَ مَا سَقَيْتَ لَنَا فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُۥ وَقَصَّ عَلَيْهِ ٱلْقَصَصَ قَالَ لَا تَخَفْ نَجَوْتَ مِنَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ fajāathu iḥdāhumā tamshī ʿalā astiḥyāin qālat inna abī yadʿūka līajzīaka ajra mā saqayta la-nā fa-lammā jāʾahu wa-qaṣṣa ʿalayhi l-qaṣaṣa qalā lā takhaf najawta mina l-qawmi l-ẓālimīna Afterwards one of the (damsels) came (back) to him, walking bashfully. She said: "My father invites thee that he may reward thee for having watered (our flocks) for us." So when he came to him and narrated the story, he said: "Fear thou not: (well) hast thou escaped from unjust people." |
