Surah 9 al-Tawbah (Repentance)
RefArabic    TransliterationTranslation
(9:114)

وَمَا  كَانَ  ٱسْتِغْفَارُ  إِبْرَٰهِيمَ  لِأَبِيهِ  إِلَّا  عَن  مَّوْعِدَةٍ  وَعَدَهَآ  إِيَّاهُ  فَلَمَّا  تَبَيَّنَ  لَهُۥٓ  أَنَّهُۥ  عَدُوٌّ  لِلَّـهِ  تَبَرَّأَ  مِنْهُ  إِنَّ  إِبْرَٰهِيمَ  لَأَوَّٰهٌ  حَلِيمٌ wa‑mā kāna istighfāru ibrāhīma li‑abīhi illā ʿan mawʿidatin waʿadahā iyyāhu fa‑lammā tabayyana lahu annahu ʿaduwwun lillāhi tabarraʾa minhu inna ibrāhīma la‑awwāhun ḥalīmun
And Abraham prayed for his father's forgiveness only because of a promise he had made to him. But when it became clear to him that he was an enemy to Allah, he dissociated himself from him: for Abraham was most tender-hearted, forbearing.

Surah 11 Hūd (Hud)
(11:75)

إِنَّ  إِبْرَٰهِيمَ  لَحَلِيمٌ  أَوَّٰهٌ  مُّنِيبٌ inna ibrāhīma la‑ḥalīmun awwāhun munībun
For Abraham was, without doubt, forbearing (of faults), compassionate, and given to look to Allah.
