(2:38) | قُلْنَا ٱهْبِطُوا۟ مِنْهَا جَمِيعًا فَإِمَّا يَأْتِيَنَّكُم مِّنِّى هُدًى فَمَن تَبِعَ هُدَاىَ فَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ | qulnā ahbiṭū minhā jamīʿan fa‑immā yaʾtiyannakum minnī hudan fa‑man tabiʿa hudāya fa‑lā khawfun ʿalayhim wa‑lā hum yaḥzanūna | We said: "Get ye down all from here; and if, as is sure, there
comes to you Guidance from me, whosoever follows My guidance, on them shall
be no fear, nor shall they grieve.
Sura al-Baqara 2:38 قُلْنَا ٱهْبِطُوا۟ مِنْهَا جَمِيعًا فَإِمَّا يَأْتِيَنَّكُم مِّنِّى هُدًى فَمَن تَبِعَ هُدَاىَ فَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ qulnā ahbiṭū minhā jamīʿan fa-immā yaʾtiyannakum minnī hudan fa-man tabiʿa hudāya fa-lā khawfun ʿalayhim wa-lā hum yaḥzanūna We said: "Get ye down all from here; and if, as is sure, there comes to you Guidance from me, whosoever follows My guidance, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. |
(2:120) | وَلَن تَرْضَىٰ عَنكَ ٱلْيَهُودُ وَلَا ٱلنَّصَٰرَىٰ حَتَّىٰ تَتَّبِعَ مِلَّتَهُمْ قُلْ إِنَّ هُدَى ٱللَّـهِ هُوَ ٱلْهُدَىٰ وَلَئِنِ ٱتَّبَعْتَ أَهْوَآءَهُم بَعْدَ ٱلَّذِى جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ مَا لَكَ مِنَ ٱللَّـهِ مِن وَلِىٍّ وَلَا نَصِيرٍ | wa‑lan tarḍā ʿanka l‑yahūdu wa‑lā l‑naṣārā ḥattā tattabiʿa millatahum qul inna huda allāhi huwa l‑hudā wa‑laʾini ittabaʿta ahwāʾahum baʿda alladhī jāʾaka mina l‑ʿilmi mā la‑ka mina allāhi min waliyyin wa‑lā naṣīrin | Never will the Jews or the Christians be satisfied with thee
unless thou follow their form of religion. Say: "The Guidance of Allah,-that
is the (only) Guidance." Wert thou to follow their desires after the
knowledge which hath reached thee, then wouldst thou find neither Protector
nor helper against Allah.
Sura al-Baqara 2:120 وَلَن تَرْضَىٰ عَنكَ ٱلْيَهُودُ وَلَا ٱلنَّصَٰرَىٰ حَتَّىٰ تَتَّبِعَ مِلَّتَهُمْ قُلْ إِنَّ هُدَى ٱللَّـهِ هُوَ ٱلْهُدَىٰ وَلَئِنِ ٱتَّبَعْتَ أَهْوَآءَهُم بَعْدَ ٱلَّذِى جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ مَا لَكَ مِنَ ٱللَّـهِ مِن وَلِىٍّ وَلَا نَصِيرٍ wa-lan tarḍā ʿanka l-yahūdu wa-lā l-naṣārā ḥattā tattabiʿa millatahum qul inna huda allāhi huwa l-hudā wa-laʾini ittabaʿta ahwāʾahum baʿda alladhī jāʾaka mina l-ʿilmi mā la-ka mina allāhi min waliyyin wa-lā naṣīrin Never will the Jews or the Christians be satisfied with thee unless thou follow their form of religion. Say: "The Guidance of Allah,-that is the (only) Guidance." Wert thou to follow their desires after the knowledge which hath reached thee, then wouldst thou find neither Protector nor helper against Allah. |
(2:143) | وَكَذَٰلِكَ جَعَلْنَٰكُمْ أُمَّةً وَسَطًا لِّتَكُونُوا۟ شُهَدَآءَ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ وَيَكُونَ ٱلرَّسُولُ عَلَيْكُمْ شَهِيدًا وَمَا جَعَلْنَا ٱلْقِبْلَةَ ٱلَّتِى كُنتَ عَلَيْهَآ إِلَّا لِنَعْلَمَ مَن يَتَّبِعُ ٱلرَّسُولَ مِمَّن يَنقَلِبُ عَلَىٰ عَقِبَيْهِ وَإِن كَانَتْ لَكَبِيرَةً إِلَّا عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ هَدَى ٱللَّـهُ وَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّـهُ لِيُضِيعَ إِيمَٰنَكُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ بِٱلنَّاسِ لَرَءُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ | wa‑ka‑dhālika jaʿalnākum ummatan wasaṭan li‑takūnū shuhadāʾa ʿalā l‑nāsi wa‑yakūna l‑rasūlu ʿalaykum shahīdan wa‑mā jaʿalnā l‑qiblata allatī kunta ʿalayhā illā linaʿlama man yattabiʿu l‑rasūla mimman yanqalibu ʿalā ʿaqibayhi wa‑in kānat la‑kabīratan illā ʿalā lladhīna hadā allāhu wa‑mā kāna allāhu li‑yuḍīʿa īmānakum inna allāha bil‑nāsi la‑raʾūfun raḥīmun | Thus, have We made of you an Ummat justly balanced, that ye
might be witnesses over the nations, and the Messenger a witness over
yourselves; and We appointed the Qibla to which thou wast used, only to
test those who followed the Messenger from those who would turn on their
heels (From the Faith). Indeed it was (A change) momentous, except to those
guided by Allah. And never would Allah Make your faith of no effect. For Allah is
to all people Most surely full of kindness, Most Merciful.
Sura al-Baqara 2:143 وَكَذَٰلِكَ جَعَلْنَٰكُمْ أُمَّةً وَسَطًا لِّتَكُونُوا۟ شُهَدَآءَ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ وَيَكُونَ ٱلرَّسُولُ عَلَيْكُمْ شَهِيدًا وَمَا جَعَلْنَا ٱلْقِبْلَةَ ٱلَّتِى كُنتَ عَلَيْهَآ إِلَّا لِنَعْلَمَ مَن يَتَّبِعُ ٱلرَّسُولَ مِمَّن يَنقَلِبُ عَلَىٰ عَقِبَيْهِ وَإِن كَانَتْ لَكَبِيرَةً إِلَّا عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ هَدَى ٱللَّـهُ وَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّـهُ لِيُضِيعَ إِيمَٰنَكُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ بِٱلنَّاسِ لَرَءُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ wa-ka-dhālika jaʿalnākum ummatan wasaṭan li-takūnū shuhadāʾa ʿalā l-nāsi wa-yakūna l-rasūlu ʿalaykum shahīdan wa-mā jaʿalnā l-qiblata allatī kunta ʿalayhā illā linaʿlama man yattabiʿu l-rasūla mimman yanqalibu ʿalā ʿaqibayhi wa-in kānat la-kabīratan illā ʿalā lladhīna hadā allāhu wa-mā kāna allāhu li-yuḍīʿa īmānakum inna allāha bil-nāsi la-raʾūfun raḥīmun Thus, have We made of you an Ummat justly balanced, that ye might be witnesses over the nations, and the Messenger a witness over yourselves; and We appointed the Qibla to which thou wast used, only to test those who followed the Messenger from those who would turn on their heels (From the Faith). (2:145) | وَلَئِنْ أَتَيْتَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ بِكُلِّ ءَايَةٍ مَّا تَبِعُوا۟ قِبْلَتَكَ وَمَآ أَنتَ بِتَابِعٍ قِبْلَتَهُمْ وَمَا بَعْضُهُم بِتَابِعٍ قِبْلَةَ بَعْضٍ وَلَئِنِ ٱتَّبَعْتَ أَهْوَآءَهُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ إِنَّكَ إِذًا لَّمِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ | wa‑laʾin atayta lladhīna ūtū l‑kitāba bi‑kulli āyatin mā tabiʿū qiblataka wa‑mā anta bitābiʿin qiblatahum wa‑mā baʿḍuhum bitābiʿin qiblata baʿḍin wa‑laʾini ittabaʿta ahwāʾahum min baʿdi mā jāʾaka mina l‑ʿilmi innaka idhan la‑mina l‑ẓālimīna | Even if thou wert to bring to the people of the Book all the
Signs (together), they would not follow Thy Qibla; nor art thou going to
follow their Qibla; nor indeed will they follow each other's Qibla. If thou
after the knowledge hath reached thee, Wert to follow their (vain)
desires,-then wert thou Indeed (clearly) in the wrong.
Sura al-Baqara 2:145 وَلَئِنْ أَتَيْتَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ بِكُلِّ ءَايَةٍ مَّا تَبِعُوا۟ قِبْلَتَكَ وَمَآ أَنتَ بِتَابِعٍ قِبْلَتَهُمْ وَمَا بَعْضُهُم بِتَابِعٍ قِبْلَةَ بَعْضٍ وَلَئِنِ ٱتَّبَعْتَ أَهْوَآءَهُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ إِنَّكَ إِذًا لَّمِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ wa-laʾin atayta lladhīna ūtū l-kitāba bi-kulli āyatin mā tabiʿū qiblataka wa-mā anta bitābiʿin qiblatahum wa-mā baʿḍuhum bitābiʿin qiblata baʿḍin wa-laʾini ittabaʿta ahwāʾahum min baʿdi mā jāʾaka mina l-ʿilmi innaka idhan la-mina l-ẓālimīna Even if thou wert to bring to the people of the Book all the Signs (together), they would not follow Thy Qibla; nor art thou going to follow their Qibla; nor indeed will they follow each other's Qibla. If thou after the knowledge hath reached thee, Wert to follow their (vain) desires,-then wert thou Indeed (clearly) in the wrong. |
(2:263) | قَوْلٌ مَّعْرُوفٌ وَمَغْفِرَةٌ خَيْرٌ مِّن صَدَقَةٍ يَتْبَعُهَآ أَذًى وَٱللَّـهُ غَنِىٌّ حَلِيمٌ | qawlun maʿrūfun wa‑maghfiratun khayrun min ṣadaqatin yatbaʿuhā adhan wallāhu ghaniyyun ḥalīmun | Kind words and the covering of faults are better than charity
followed by injury. Allah is free of all wants, and He is Most-Forbearing.
Sura al-Baqara 2:263 قَوْلٌ مَّعْرُوفٌ وَمَغْفِرَةٌ خَيْرٌ مِّن صَدَقَةٍ يَتْبَعُهَآ أَذًى وَٱللَّـهُ غَنِىٌّ حَلِيمٌ qawlun maʿrūfun wa-maghfiratun khayrun min ṣadaqatin yatbaʿuhā adhan wallāhu ghaniyyun ḥalīmun Kind words and the covering of faults are better than charity followed by injury. Allah is free of all wants, and He is Most-Forbearing. |
(3:20) | فَإِنْ حَآجُّوكَ فَقُلْ أَسْلَمْتُ وَجْهِىَ لِلَّـهِ وَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَنِ وَقُل لِّلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْأُمِّيِّۦنَ ءَأَسْلَمْتُمْ فَإِنْ أَسْلَمُوا۟ فَقَدِ ٱهْتَدَوا۟ وَّإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْبَلَٰغُ وَٱللَّـهُ بَصِيرٌۢ بِٱلْعِبَادِ | fa‑in ḥājjūka fa‑qul aslamtu wajhiya lillāhi wa‑mani ittabaʿani wa‑qul li‑lladhīna ūtū l‑kitāba wa‑l‑ummīyina a‑aslamtum fa‑in aslamū fa‑qadi ihtadaw wa‑in tawallaw fa‑innamā ʿalayka l‑balāghu wallāhu baṣīrun bil‑ʿibādi | So if they dispute with thee, say: "I have submitted My whole
self to Allah and so have those who follow me." And say to the People of the
Book and to those who are unlearned: "Do ye (also) submit yourselves?" If
they do, they are in right guidance, but if they turn back, Thy duty is to
convey the Message; and in Allah's sight are (all) His servants.
Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:20 فَإِنْ حَآجُّوكَ فَقُلْ أَسْلَمْتُ وَجْهِىَ لِلَّـهِ وَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَنِ وَقُل لِّلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْأُمِّيِّۦنَ ءَأَسْلَمْتُمْ فَإِنْ أَسْلَمُوا۟ فَقَدِ ٱهْتَدَوا۟ وَّإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْبَلَٰغُ وَٱللَّـهُ بَصِيرٌۢ بِٱلْعِبَادِ fa-in ḥājjūka fa-qul aslamtu wajhiya lillāhi wa-mani ittabaʿani wa-qul li-lladhīna ūtū l-kitāba wa-l-ummīyina a-aslamtum fa-in aslamū fa-qadi ihtadaw wa-in tawallaw fa-innamā ʿalayka l-balāghu wallāhu baṣīrun bil-ʿibādi So if they dispute with thee, say: "I have submitted My whole self to Allah and so have those who follow me." And say to the People of the Book and to those who are unlearned: "Do ye (also) submit yourselves?" If they do, they are in right guidance, but if they turn back, Thy duty is to convey the Message; and in Allah's sight are (all) His servants. |
(3:73) | وَلَا تُؤْمِنُوٓا۟ إِلَّا لِمَن تَبِعَ دِينَكُمْ قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْهُدَىٰ هُدَى ٱللَّـهِ أَن يُؤْتَىٰٓ أَحَدٌ مِّثْلَ مَآ أُوتِيتُمْ أَوْ يُحَآجُّوكُمْ عِندَ رَبِّكُمْ قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْفَضْلَ بِيَدِ ٱللَّـهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَن يَشَآءُ وَٱللَّـهُ وَٰسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ | wa‑lā tūʾminū illā li‑man tabiʿa dīnakum qul inna l‑hudā huda allāhi an yuʾtā aḥadun mithla mā ūtītum aw yuḥājjūkum ʿinda rabbikum qul inna l‑faḍla bi‑yadi allāhi yuʾtīhi man yashāʾu wallāhu wāsiʿun ʿalīmun | "And believe no one unless he follows your religion." Say:
"True guidance is the Guidance of Allah: (Fear ye) Lest a revelation be sent
to someone (else) Like unto that which was sent unto you? or that those
(Receiving such revelation) should engage you in argument before your
Lord?" Say: "All bounties are in the hand of Allah: He granteth them to whom
He pleaseth: And Allah careth for all, and He knoweth all things."
Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:73 وَلَا تُؤْمِنُوٓا۟ إِلَّا لِمَن تَبِعَ دِينَكُمْ قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْهُدَىٰ هُدَى ٱللَّـهِ أَن يُؤْتَىٰٓ أَحَدٌ مِّثْلَ مَآ أُوتِيتُمْ أَوْ يُحَآجُّوكُمْ عِندَ رَبِّكُمْ قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْفَضْلَ بِيَدِ ٱللَّـهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَن يَشَآءُ وَٱللَّـهُ وَٰسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ wa-lā tūʾminū illā li-man tabiʿa dīnakum qul inna l-hudā huda allāhi an yuʾtā aḥadun mithla mā ūtītum aw yuḥājjūkum ʿinda rabbikum qul inna l-faḍla bi-yadi allāhi yuʾtīhi man yashāʾu wallāhu wāsiʿun ʿalīmun "And believe no one unless he follows your religion." Say: "True guidance is the Guidance of Allah: (Fear ye) Lest a revelation be sent to someone (else) Like unto that which was sent unto you? or that those (Receiving such revelation) should engage you in argument before your Lord?" Say: "All bounties are in the hand of Allah: He granteth them to whom He pleaseth: And Allah careth for all, and He knoweth all things." |
(3:162) | أَفَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَ رِضْوَٰنَ ٱللَّـهِ كَمَنۢ بَآءَ بِسَخَطٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّـهِ وَمَأْوَىٰهُ جَهَنَّمُ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمَصِيرُ | afamani ittabaʿa riḍwāna allāhi kaman bāʾa bi‑sakhaṭin mina allāhi wa‑māʾwāhu jahannamu wa‑biʾsa l‑maṣīru | Is the man who follows the good pleasure of Allah Like the man
who draws on himself the wrath of Allah, and whose abode is in Hell?- A
woeful refuge!
Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:162 أَفَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَ رِضْوَٰنَ ٱللَّـهِ كَمَنۢ بَآءَ بِسَخَطٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّـهِ وَمَأْوَىٰهُ جَهَنَّمُ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمَصِيرُ afamani ittabaʿa riḍwāna allāhi kaman bāʾa bi-sakhaṭin mina allāhi wa-māʾwāhu jahannamu wa-biʾsa l-maṣīru Is the man who follows the good pleasure of Allah Like the man who draws on himself the wrath of Allah, and whose abode is in Hell?- A woeful refuge! |
(4:115) | وَمَن يُشَاقِقِ ٱلرَّسُولَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُ ٱلْهُدَىٰ وَيَتَّبِعْ غَيْرَ سَبِيلِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ نُوَلِّهِۦ مَا تَوَلَّىٰ وَنُصْلِهِۦ جَهَنَّمَ وَسَآءَتْ مَصِيرًا | wa‑man yushāqiqi l‑rasūla min baʿdi mā tabayyana lahu l‑hudā wa‑yattabiʿ ghayra sabīli l‑muʾminīna nuwallihi mā tawalla wa‑nuṣlihi jahannama wa‑sāʾat maṣīran | If anyone contends with the Messenger even after guidance has
been plainly conveyed to him, and follows a path other than that becoming
to men of Faith, We shall leave him in the path he has chosen, and land him
in Hell,- what an evil refuge!
Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:115 وَمَن يُشَاقِقِ ٱلرَّسُولَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُ ٱلْهُدَىٰ وَيَتَّبِعْ غَيْرَ سَبِيلِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ نُوَلِّهِۦ مَا تَوَلَّىٰ وَنُصْلِهِۦ جَهَنَّمَ وَسَآءَتْ مَصِيرًا wa-man yushāqiqi l-rasūla min baʿdi mā tabayyana lahu l-hudā wa-yattabiʿ ghayra sabīli l-muʾminīna nuwallihi mā tawalla wa-nuṣlihi jahannama wa-sāʾat maṣīran If anyone contends with the Messenger even after guidance has been plainly conveyed to him, and follows a path other than that becoming to men of Faith, We shall leave him in the path he has chosen, and land him in Hell,- what an evil refuge! |
(4:125) | وَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ دِينًا مِّمَّنْ أَسْلَمَ وَجْهَهُۥ لِلَّـهِ وَهُوَ مُحْسِنٌ وَٱتَّبَعَ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ حَنِيفًا وَٱتَّخَذَ ٱللَّـهُ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ خَلِيلًا | wa‑man aḥsanu dīnan mimman aslama wajhahu lillāhi wa‑huwa muḥsinun wa‑ittabaʿa millata ibrāhīma ḥanīfan wa‑ittakhadha allāhu ibrāhīma khalīlan | Who can be better in religion than one who submits his whole
self to Allah, does good, and follows the way of Abraham the true in Faith?
For Allah did take Abraham for a friend.
Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:125 وَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ دِينًا مِّمَّنْ أَسْلَمَ وَجْهَهُۥ لِلَّـهِ وَهُوَ مُحْسِنٌ وَٱتَّبَعَ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ حَنِيفًا وَٱتَّخَذَ ٱللَّـهُ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ خَلِيلًا wa-man aḥsanu dīnan mimman aslama wajhahu lillāhi wa-huwa muḥsinun wa-ittabaʿa millata ibrāhīma ḥanīfan wa-ittakhadha allāhu ibrāhīma khalīlan Who can be better in religion than one who submits his whole self to Allah, does good, and follows the way of Abraham the true in Faith? For Allah did take Abraham for a friend. |
(5:16) | يَهْدِى بِهِ ٱللَّـهُ مَنِ ٱتَّبَعَ رِضْوَٰنَهُۥ سُبُلَ ٱلسَّلَٰمِ وَيُخْرِجُهُم مِّنَ ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ إِلَى ٱلنُّورِ بِإِذْنِهِۦ وَيَهْدِيهِمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ | yahdī bihi allāhu mani ittabaʿa riḍwānahu subula l‑salāmi wa‑yukhrijuhum mina l‑ẓulumāti ilā l‑nūri bi‑idhnihi wa‑yahdīhim ilā ṣirāṭin mustaqīmin | Wherewith Allah guideth all who seek His good pleasure to ways
of peace and safety, and leadeth them out of darkness, by His will, unto
the light,- guideth them to a path that is straight.
Sura al-Māʾidah 5:16 يَهْدِى بِهِ ٱللَّـهُ مَنِ ٱتَّبَعَ رِضْوَٰنَهُۥ سُبُلَ ٱلسَّلَٰمِ وَيُخْرِجُهُم مِّنَ ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ إِلَى ٱلنُّورِ بِإِذْنِهِۦ وَيَهْدِيهِمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ yahdī bihi allāhu mani ittabaʿa riḍwānahu subula l-salāmi wa-yukhrijuhum mina l-ẓulumāti ilā l-nūri bi-idhnihi wa-yahdīhim ilā ṣirāṭin mustaqīmin Wherewith Allah guideth all who seek His good pleasure to ways of peace and safety, and leadeth them out of darkness, by His will, unto the light,- guideth them to a path that is straight. |
(5:48) | وَأَنزَلْنَآ إِلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ بِٱلْحَقِّ مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِنَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَمُهَيْمِنًا عَلَيْهِ فَٱحْكُم بَيْنَهُم بِمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّـهُ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَآءَهُمْ عَمَّا جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلْحَقِّ لِكُلٍّ جَعَلْنَا مِنكُمْ شِرْعَةً وَمِنْهَاجًا وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّـهُ لَجَعَلَكُمْ أُمَّةً وَٰحِدَةً وَلَٰكِن لِّيَبْلُوَكُمْ فِى مَآ ءَاتَىٰكُمْ فَٱسْتَبِقُوا۟ ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ إِلَى ٱللَّـهِ مَرْجِعُكُمْ جَمِيعًا فَيُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ فِيهِ تَخْتَلِفُونَ | wa‑anzalnā ilayka l‑kitāba bil‑ḥaqqi muṣaddiqan li‑mā bayna yadayhi mina l‑kitābi wa‑muhayminan ʿalayhi fa‑aḥkum baynahum bimā anzala allāhu wa‑lā tattabiʿ ahwāʾahum ʿammā jāʾaka mina l‑ḥaqqi li‑kullin jaʿalnā minkum shirʿatan wa‑minhājan wa‑law shāʾa allāhu lajaʿalakum ummatan wāḥidatan wa‑lākin li‑yabluwakum fī mā ātakum fa‑istabiqū l‑khayrāti ilā allāhi marjiʿukum jamīʿan fa‑yunabbiʾukum bi‑mā kuntum fīhi takhtalifūna | To thee We sent the Scripture in truth, confirming the
scripture that came before it, and guarding it in safety: so judge between
them by what Allah hath revealed, and follow not their vain desires,
diverging from the Truth that hath come to thee. To each among you have we
prescribed a law and an open way. If Allah had so willed, He would have made
you a single people, but (His plan is) to test you in what He hath given
you: so strive as in a race in all virtues. The goal of you all is to Allah;
it is He that will show you the truth of the matters in which ye dispute;
Sura al-Māʾidah 5:48 وَأَنزَلْنَآ إِلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ بِٱلْحَقِّ مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِنَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَمُهَيْمِنًا عَلَيْهِ فَٱحْكُم بَيْنَهُم بِمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّـهُ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَآءَهُمْ عَمَّا جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلْحَقِّ لِكُلٍّ جَعَلْنَا مِنكُمْ شِرْعَةً وَمِنْهَاجًا وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّـهُ لَجَعَلَكُمْ أُمَّةً وَٰحِدَةً وَلَٰكِن لِّيَبْلُوَكُمْ فِى مَآ ءَاتَىٰكُمْ فَٱسْتَبِقُوا۟ ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ إِلَى ٱللَّـهِ مَرْجِعُكُمْ جَمِيعًا فَيُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ فِيهِ تَخْتَلِفُونَ wa-anzalnā ilayka l-kitāba bil-ḥaqqi muṣaddiqan li-mā bayna yadayhi mina l-kitābi wa-muhayminan ʿalayhi fa-aḥkum baynahum bimā anzala allāhu wa-lā tattabiʿ ahwāʾahum ʿammā jāʾaka mina l-ḥaqqi li-kullin jaʿalnā minkum shirʿatan wa-minhājan wa-law shāʾa allāhu lajaʿalakum ummatan wāḥidatan wa-lākin li-yabluwakum fī mā ātakum fa-istabiqū l-khayrāti ilā allāhi marjiʿukum jamīʿan fa-yunabbiʾukum bi-mā kuntum fīhi takhtalifūna To thee We sent the Scripture in truth, confirming the scripture that came before it, and guarding it in safety: so judge between them by what Allah hath revealed, and follow not their vain desires, diverging from the Truth that hath come to thee. (5:49) | وَأَنِ ٱحْكُم بَيْنَهُم بِمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّـهُ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَآءَهُمْ وَٱحْذَرْهُمْ أَن يَفْتِنُوكَ عَنۢ بَعْضِ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّـهُ إِلَيْكَ فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَٱعْلَمْ أَنَّمَا يُرِيدُ ٱللَّـهُ أَن يُصِيبَهُم بِبَعْضِ ذُنُوبِهِمْ وَإِنَّ كَثِيرًا مِّنَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَفَٰسِقُونَ | wa‑ani aḥkum baynahum bimā anzala allāhu wa‑lā tattabiʿ ahwāʾahum wa‑aḥdharhum an yaftinūka ʿan baʿḍi mā anzala allāhu ilayka fa‑in tawallaw fa‑iʿlam annamā yurīdu allāhu an yuṣībahum bi‑baʿḍi dhunūbihim wa‑inna kathīran mina l‑nāsi lafāsiqūna | And this (He commands): Judge thou between them by what Allah
hath revealed, and follow not their vain desires, but beware of them lest
they beguile thee from any of that (teaching) which Allah hath sent down to
thee. And if they turn away, be assured that for some of their crime it is
Allah's purpose to punish them. And truly most men are rebellious.
Sura al-Māʾidah 5:49 وَأَنِ ٱحْكُم بَيْنَهُم بِمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّـهُ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَآءَهُمْ وَٱحْذَرْهُمْ أَن يَفْتِنُوكَ عَنۢ بَعْضِ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّـهُ إِلَيْكَ فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَٱعْلَمْ أَنَّمَا يُرِيدُ ٱللَّـهُ أَن يُصِيبَهُم بِبَعْضِ ذُنُوبِهِمْ وَإِنَّ كَثِيرًا مِّنَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَفَٰسِقُونَ wa-ani aḥkum baynahum bimā anzala allāhu wa-lā tattabiʿ ahwāʾahum wa-aḥdharhum an yaftinūka ʿan baʿḍi mā anzala allāhu ilayka fa-in tawallaw fa-iʿlam annamā yurīdu allāhu an yuṣībahum bi-baʿḍi dhunūbihim wa-inna kathīran mina l-nāsi lafāsiqūna And this (He commands): Judge thou between them by what Allah hath revealed, and follow not their vain desires, but beware of them lest they beguile thee from any of that (teaching) which Allah hath sent down to thee. (6:50) | قُل لَّآ أَقُولُ لَكُمْ عِندِى خَزَآئِنُ ٱللَّـهِ وَلَآ أَعْلَمُ ٱلْغَيْبَ وَلَآ أَقُولُ لَكُمْ إِنِّى مَلَكٌ إِنْ أَتَّبِعُ إِلَّا مَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَىَّ قُلْ هَلْ يَسْتَوِى ٱلْأَعْمَىٰ وَٱلْبَصِيرُ أَفَلَا تَتَفَكَّرُونَ | qul lā aqūlu la‑kum ʿindī khazāʾinu allāhi wa‑lā aʿlamu l‑ghayba wa‑lā aqūlu la‑kum innī malakun in attabiʿu illā mā yūḥā ilayya qul hal yastawī l‑aʿmā wa‑l‑baṣīru a‑fa‑lā tatafakkarūna | Say: "I tell you not that with me are the treasures of Allah,
nor do I know what is hidden, nor do I tell you I am an angel. I but
follow what is revealed to me." Say: "can the blind be held equal to the
seeing?" Will ye then consider not?
Sura al-Anʿām 6:50 قُل لَّآ أَقُولُ لَكُمْ عِندِى خَزَآئِنُ ٱللَّـهِ وَلَآ أَعْلَمُ ٱلْغَيْبَ وَلَآ أَقُولُ لَكُمْ إِنِّى مَلَكٌ إِنْ أَتَّبِعُ إِلَّا مَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَىَّ قُلْ هَلْ يَسْتَوِى ٱلْأَعْمَىٰ وَٱلْبَصِيرُ أَفَلَا تَتَفَكَّرُونَ qul lā aqūlu la-kum ʿindī khazāʾinu allāhi wa-lā aʿlamu l-ghayba wa-lā aqūlu la-kum innī malakun in attabiʿu illā mā yūḥā ilayya qul hal yastawī l-aʿmā wa-l-baṣīru a-fa-lā tatafakkarūna Say: "I tell you not that with me are the treasures of Allah, nor do I know what is hidden, nor do I tell you I am an angel. I but follow what is revealed to me." Say: "can the blind be held equal to the seeing?" Will ye then consider not? |
(6:56) | قُلْ إِنِّى نُهِيتُ أَنْ أَعْبُدَ ٱلَّذِينَ تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّـهِ قُل لَّآ أَتَّبِعُ أَهْوَآءَكُمْ قَدْ ضَلَلْتُ إِذًا وَمَآ أَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلْمُهْتَدِينَ | qul innī nuhītu an aʿbuda lladhīna tadʿūna min dūni allāhi qul lā attabiʿu ahwāʾakum qad ḍalaltu idhan wa‑mā anā mina l‑muhtadīna | Say: "I am forbidden to worship those - others than Allah - whom
ye call upon." Say: "I will not follow your wain desires: If I did, I would
stray from the path, and be not of the company of those who receive
guidance."
Sura al-Anʿām 6:56 قُلْ إِنِّى نُهِيتُ أَنْ أَعْبُدَ ٱلَّذِينَ تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّـهِ قُل لَّآ أَتَّبِعُ أَهْوَآءَكُمْ قَدْ ضَلَلْتُ إِذًا وَمَآ أَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلْمُهْتَدِينَ qul innī nuhītu an aʿbuda lladhīna tadʿūna min dūni allāhi qul lā attabiʿu ahwāʾakum qad ḍalaltu idhan wa-mā anā mina l-muhtadīna Say: "I am forbidden to worship those - others than Allah - whom ye call upon." Say: "I will not follow your wain desires: If I did, I would stray from the path, and be not of the company of those who receive guidance." |
(6:106) | ٱتَّبِعْ مَآ أُوحِىَ إِلَيْكَ مِن رَّبِّكَ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ وَأَعْرِضْ عَنِ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ | attabiʿ mā ūḥiya ilayka min rabbika lā ilāha illā huwa wa‑aʿriḍ ʿani l‑mushrikīna | Follow what thou art taught by inspiration from thy Lord:
there is no god but He: and turn aside from those who join gods with Allah.
Sura al-Anʿām 6:106 ٱتَّبِعْ مَآ أُوحِىَ إِلَيْكَ مِن رَّبِّكَ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ وَأَعْرِضْ عَنِ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ attabiʿ mā ūḥiya ilayka min rabbika lā ilāha illā huwa wa-aʿriḍ ʿani l-mushrikīna Follow what thou art taught by inspiration from thy Lord: there is no god but He: and turn aside from those who join gods with Allah. |
(6:150) | قُلْ هَلُمَّ شُهَدَآءَكُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ يَشْهَدُونَ أَنَّ ٱللَّـهَ حَرَّمَ هَٰذَا فَإِن شَهِدُوا۟ فَلَا تَشْهَدْ مَعَهُمْ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَآءَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْأَخِرَةِ وَهُم بِرَبِّهِمْ يَعْدِلُونَ | qul halumma shuhadāʾakumu lladhīna yashhadūna annā allāha ḥarrama hādhā fa‑in shahidū fa‑lā tashhad maʿahum wa‑lā tattabiʿ ahwāʾa lladhīna kadhdhabū bi‑āyātinā wa‑lladhīna lā yuʾminūna bil‑akhirati wa‑hum bi‑rabbihim yaʿdilūna | Say: "Bring forward your witnesses to prove that Allah did
forbid so and so." If they bring such witnesses, be not thou amongst them:
Nor follow thou the vain desires of such as treat our signs as falsehoods,
and such as believe not in the Hereafter: for they hold others as equal
with their Guardian-Lord.
Sura al-Anʿām 6:150 قُلْ هَلُمَّ شُهَدَآءَكُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ يَشْهَدُونَ أَنَّ ٱللَّـهَ حَرَّمَ هَٰذَا فَإِن شَهِدُوا۟ فَلَا تَشْهَدْ مَعَهُمْ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَآءَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْأَخِرَةِ وَهُم بِرَبِّهِمْ يَعْدِلُونَ qul halumma shuhadāʾakumu lladhīna yashhadūna annā allāha ḥarrama hādhā fa-in shahidū fa-lā tashhad maʿahum wa-lā tattabiʿ ahwāʾa lladhīna kadhdhabū bi-āyātinā wa-lladhīna lā yuʾminūna bil-akhirati wa-hum bi-rabbihim yaʿdilūna Say: "Bring forward your witnesses to prove that Allah did forbid so and so." (7:18) | قَالَ ٱخْرُجْ مِنْهَا مَذْءُومًا مَّدْحُورًا لَّمَن تَبِعَكَ مِنْهُمْ لَأَمْلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ | qalā ikhruj minhā madhʾūman madḥūran llaman tabiʿaka minhum la‑amlaʾanna jahannama minkum ajmaʿīna | (Allah) said: "Get out from this, disgraced and expelled. If any
of them follow thee,- Hell will I fill with you all.
Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:18 قَالَ ٱخْرُجْ مِنْهَا مَذْءُومًا مَّدْحُورًا لَّمَن تَبِعَكَ مِنْهُمْ لَأَمْلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ qalā ikhruj minhā madhʾūman madḥūran llaman tabiʿaka minhum la-amlaʾanna jahannama minkum ajmaʿīna (Allah) said: "Get out from this, disgraced and expelled. If any of them follow thee,- Hell will I fill with you all. |
(7:142) | وَوَٰعَدْنَا مُوسَىٰ ثَلَٰثِينَ لَيْلَةً وَأَتْمَمْنَٰهَا بِعَشْرٍ فَتَمَّ مِيقَٰتُ رَبِّهِۦٓ أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِأَخِيهِ هَٰرُونَ ٱخْلُفْنِى فِى قَوْمِى وَأَصْلِحْ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ سَبِيلَ ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ | wa‑wāʿadnā mūsā thalāthīna laylatan wa‑atmamnāhā biʿashrin fatamma mīqātu rabbihi arbaʿīna laylatan wa‑qāla mūsā liakhīhi hārūna akhlufnī fī qawmī wa‑aṣliḥ wa‑lā tattabiʿ sabīla l‑mufsidīna | We appointed for Moses thirty nights, and completed (the
period) with ten (more): thus was completed the term (of communion) with
his Lord, forty nights. And Moses had charged his brother Aaron (before he
went up): "Act for me amongst my people: Do right, and follow not the way
of those who do mischief."
Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:142 وَوَٰعَدْنَا مُوسَىٰ ثَلَٰثِينَ لَيْلَةً وَأَتْمَمْنَٰهَا بِعَشْرٍ فَتَمَّ مِيقَٰتُ رَبِّهِۦٓ أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِأَخِيهِ هَٰرُونَ ٱخْلُفْنِى فِى قَوْمِى وَأَصْلِحْ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ سَبِيلَ ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ wa-wāʿadnā mūsā thalāthīna laylatan wa-atmamnāhā biʿashrin fatamma mīqātu rabbihi arbaʿīna laylatan wa-qāla mūsā liakhīhi hārūna akhlufnī fī qawmī wa-aṣliḥ wa-lā tattabiʿ sabīla l-mufsidīna We appointed for Moses thirty nights, and completed (the period) with ten (more): thus was completed the term (of communion) with his Lord, forty nights. And Moses had charged his brother Aaron (before he went up): "Act for me amongst my people: Do right, and follow not the way of those who do mischief." |
(7:175) | وَٱتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ ٱلَّذِىٓ ءَاتَيْنَٰهُ ءَايَٰتِنَا فَٱنسَلَخَ مِنْهَا فَأَتْبَعَهُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ فَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلْغَاوِينَ | wa‑itlu ʿalayhim nabaʾa alladhī ātaynāhu āyātinā fa‑insalakha minhā fa‑atbaʿahu l‑shayṭānu fa‑kāna mina l‑ghāwīna | Relate to them the story of the man to whom We sent Our signs,
but he passed them by: so Satan followed him up, and he went astray.
Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:175 وَٱتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ ٱلَّذِىٓ ءَاتَيْنَٰهُ ءَايَٰتِنَا فَٱنسَلَخَ مِنْهَا فَأَتْبَعَهُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ فَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلْغَاوِينَ wa-itlu ʿalayhim nabaʾa alladhī ātaynāhu āyātinā fa-insalakha minhā fa-atbaʿahu l-shayṭānu fa-kāna mina l-ghāwīna Relate to them the story of the man to whom We sent Our signs, but he passed them by: so Satan followed him up, and he went astray. |
(7:176) | وَلَوْ شِئْنَا لَرَفَعْنَٰهُ بِهَا وَلَٰكِنَّهُۥٓ أَخْلَدَ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱتَّبَعَ هَوَىٰهُ فَمَثَلُهُۥ كَمَثَلِ ٱلْكَلْبِ إِن تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْهِ يَلْهَثْ أَوْ تَتْرُكْهُ يَلْهَث ذَّٰلِكَ مَثَلُ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا فَٱقْصُصِ ٱلْقَصَصَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ | wa‑law shiʾnā la‑rafaʿnāhu bihā wa‑lā‑kinnahu akhlada ilā l‑arḍi wa‑ittabaʿa hawahu fa‑mathaluhu ka‑mathali l‑kalbi in taḥmil ʿalayhi yalhath aw tatrukhu yalhath dhālika mathalu l‑qawmi lladhīna kadhdhabū bi‑āyātinā fa‑iqṣuṣi l‑qaṣaṣa la‑ʿallahum yatafakkarūna | If it had been Our will, We should have elevated him with Our
signs; but he inclined to the earth, and followed his own vain desires. His
similitude is that of a dog: if you attack him, he lolls out his tongue, or
if you leave him alone, he (still) lolls out his tongue. That is the
similitude of those who reject Our signs; So relate the story; perchance
they may reflect.
Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:176 وَلَوْ شِئْنَا لَرَفَعْنَٰهُ بِهَا وَلَٰكِنَّهُۥٓ أَخْلَدَ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱتَّبَعَ هَوَىٰهُ فَمَثَلُهُۥ كَمَثَلِ ٱلْكَلْبِ إِن تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْهِ يَلْهَثْ أَوْ تَتْرُكْهُ يَلْهَث ذَّٰلِكَ مَثَلُ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا فَٱقْصُصِ ٱلْقَصَصَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ wa-law shiʾnā la-rafaʿnāhu bihā wa-lā-kinnahu akhlada ilā l-arḍi wa-ittabaʿa hawahu fa-mathaluhu ka-mathali l-kalbi in taḥmil ʿalayhi yalhath aw tatrukhu yalhath dhālika mathalu l-qawmi lladhīna kadhdhabū bi-āyātinā fa-iqṣuṣi l-qaṣaṣa la-ʿallahum yatafakkarūna If it had been Our will, We should have elevated him with Our signs; but he inclined to the earth, and followed his own vain desires. (7:203) | وَإِذَا لَمْ تَأْتِهِم بِـَٔايَةٍ قَالُوا۟ لَوْلَا ٱجْتَبَيْتَهَا قُلْ إِنَّمَآ أَتَّبِعُ مَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَىَّ مِن رَّبِّى هَٰذَا بَصَآئِرُ مِن رَّبِّكُمْ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةٌ لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ | wa‑idhā lam taʾtihim bi‑āyatin qālū lawlā ijtabaytahā qul innamā attabiʿu mā yūḥā ilayya min rrabbī hādhā baṣāʾiru min rabbikum wa‑hudan wa‑raḥmatun li‑qawmin yuʾminūna | If thou bring them not a revelation, they say: "Why hast thou
not got it together?" Say: "I but follow what is revealed to me from my
Lord: this is (nothing but) lights from your Lord, and Guidance, and mercy,
for any who have faith."
Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:203 وَإِذَا لَمْ تَأْتِهِم بِـَٔايَةٍ قَالُوا۟ لَوْلَا ٱجْتَبَيْتَهَا قُلْ إِنَّمَآ أَتَّبِعُ مَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَىَّ مِن رَّبِّى هَٰذَا بَصَآئِرُ مِن رَّبِّكُمْ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةٌ لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ wa-idhā lam taʾtihim bi-āyatin qālū lawlā ijtabaytahā qul innamā attabiʿu mā yūḥā ilayya min rrabbī hādhā baṣāʾiru min rabbikum wa-hudan wa-raḥmatun li-qawmin yuʾminūna If thou bring them not a revelation, they say: "Why hast thou not got it together?" Say: "I but follow what is revealed to me from my Lord: this is (nothing but) lights from your Lord, and Guidance, and mercy, for any who have faith." |
(8:64) | يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّبِىُّ حَسْبُكَ ٱللَّـهُ وَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ | yā‑ayyuhā l‑nabiyyu ḥasbuka allāhu wa‑mani ittabaʿaka mina l‑muʾminīna | O Prophet! sufficient unto thee is Allah,- (unto thee) and unto
those who follow thee among the Believers.
Sura al-Anfāl 8:64 يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّبِىُّ حَسْبُكَ ٱللَّـهُ وَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ yā-ayyuhā l-nabiyyu ḥasbuka allāhu wa-mani ittabaʿaka mina l-muʾminīna O Prophet! sufficient unto thee is Allah,- (unto thee) and unto those who follow thee among the Believers. |
(10:15) | وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَاتُنَا بَيِّنَٰتٍ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَرْجُونَ لِقَآءَنَا ٱئْتِ بِقُرْءَانٍ غَيْرِ هَٰذَآ أَوْ بَدِّلْهُ قُلْ مَا يَكُونُ لِىٓ أَنْ أُبَدِّلَهُۥ مِن تِلْقَآئِ نَفْسِىٓ إِنْ أَتَّبِعُ إِلَّا مَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَىَّ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ إِنْ عَصَيْتُ رَبِّى عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ | wa‑idhā tutlā ʿalayhim āyātunā bayyinātin qalā lladhīna lā yarjūna liqāʾanā iʾti bi‑qurʾānin ghayri hādhā aw baddilhu qul mā yakūnu lī an ubaddilahu min tilqāʾi nafsī in attabiʿu illā mā yūḥā ilayya innī akhāfu in ʿaṣaytu rabbī ʿadhāba yawmin ʿaẓīmin | But when Our Clear Signs are rehearsed unto them, those who
rest not their hope on their meeting with Us, Say: "Bring us a reading
other than this, or change this," Say: "It is not for me, of my own accord,
to change it: I follow naught but what is revealed unto me: if I were to
disobey my Lord, I should myself fear the penalty of a Great Day (to
come)."
Sura Yūnus 10:15 وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَاتُنَا بَيِّنَٰتٍ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَرْجُونَ لِقَآءَنَا ٱئْتِ بِقُرْءَانٍ غَيْرِ هَٰذَآ أَوْ بَدِّلْهُ قُلْ مَا يَكُونُ لِىٓ أَنْ أُبَدِّلَهُۥ مِن تِلْقَآئِ نَفْسِىٓ إِنْ أَتَّبِعُ إِلَّا مَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَىَّ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ إِنْ عَصَيْتُ رَبِّى عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ wa-idhā tutlā ʿalayhim āyātunā bayyinātin qalā lladhīna lā yarjūna liqāʾanā iʾti bi-qurʾānin ghayri hādhā aw baddilhu qul mā yakūnu lī an ubaddilahu min tilqāʾi nafsī in attabiʿu illā mā yūḥā ilayya innī akhāfu in ʿaṣaytu rabbī ʿadhāba yawmin ʿaẓīmin But when Our Clear Signs are rehearsed unto them, those who rest not their hope on their meeting with Us, Say: "Bring us a reading other than this, or change this," Say: "It is not for me, of my own accord, to change it: I follow naught but what is revealed unto me: if I were to disobey my Lord, I should myself fear the penalty of a Great Day (to come)." |
(10:35) | قُلْ هَلْ مِن شُرَكَآئِكُم مَّن يَهْدِىٓ إِلَى ٱلْحَقِّ قُلِ ٱللَّـهُ يَهْدِى لِلْحَقِّ أَفَمَن يَهْدِىٓ إِلَى ٱلْحَقِّ أَحَقُّ أَن يُتَّبَعَ أَمَّن لَّا يَهِدِّىٓ إِلَّآ أَن يُهْدَىٰ فَمَا لَكُمْ كَيْفَ تَحْكُمُونَ | qul hal min shurakāʾikum man yahdī ilā l‑ḥaqqi quli allāhu yahdī lil‑ḥaqqi a‑fa‑man yahdī ilā l‑ḥaqqi aḥaqqu an yuttabaʿa a‑man lā yahiddī illā an yuhda fa‑mā la‑kum kayfa taḥkumūna | Say: "Of your 'partners' is there any that can give any
guidance towards truth?" Say: "It is Allah Who gives guidance towards truth,
is then He Who gives guidance to truth more worthy to be followed, or he
who finds not guidance (himself) unless he is guided? what then is the
matter with you? How judge ye?"
Sura Yūnus 10:35 قُلْ هَلْ مِن شُرَكَآئِكُم مَّن يَهْدِىٓ إِلَى ٱلْحَقِّ قُلِ ٱللَّـهُ يَهْدِى لِلْحَقِّ أَفَمَن يَهْدِىٓ إِلَى ٱلْحَقِّ أَحَقُّ أَن يُتَّبَعَ أَمَّن لَّا يَهِدِّىٓ إِلَّآ أَن يُهْدَىٰ فَمَا لَكُمْ كَيْفَ تَحْكُمُونَ qul hal min shurakāʾikum man yahdī ilā l-ḥaqqi quli allāhu yahdī lil-ḥaqqi a-fa-man yahdī ilā l-ḥaqqi aḥaqqu an yuttabaʿa a-man lā yahiddī illā an yuhda fa-mā la-kum kayfa taḥkumūna Say: "Of your 'partners' is there any that can give any guidance towards truth?" Say: "It is Allah Who gives guidance towards truth, is then He Who gives guidance to truth more worthy to be followed, or he who finds not guidance (himself) unless he is guided? what then is the matter with you? How judge ye?" |
(10:36) | وَمَا يَتَّبِعُ أَكْثَرُهُمْ إِلَّا ظَنًّا إِنَّ ٱلظَّنَّ لَا يُغْنِى مِنَ ٱلْحَقِّ شَيْـًٔا إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ عَلِيمٌۢ بِمَا يَفْعَلُونَ | wa‑mā yattabiʿu aktharuhum illā ẓannan inna l‑ẓanna lā yughnī mina l‑ḥaqqi shayʾan inna allāha ʿalīmun bi‑mā yafʿalūna | But most of them follow nothing but fancy: truly fancy can be
of no avail against truth. Verily Allah is well aware of all that they do.
Sura Yūnus 10:36 وَمَا يَتَّبِعُ أَكْثَرُهُمْ إِلَّا ظَنًّا إِنَّ ٱلظَّنَّ لَا يُغْنِى مِنَ ٱلْحَقِّ شَيْـًٔا إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ عَلِيمٌۢ بِمَا يَفْعَلُونَ wa-mā yattabiʿu aktharuhum illā ẓannan inna l-ẓanna lā yughnī mina l-ḥaqqi shayʾan inna allāha ʿalīmun bi-mā yafʿalūna But most of them follow nothing but fancy: truly fancy can be of no avail against truth. Verily Allah is well aware of all that they do. |
(10:66) | أَلَآ إِنَّ لِلَّـهِ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَن فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا يَتَّبِعُ ٱلَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّـهِ شُرَكَآءَ إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ وَإِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا يَخْرُصُونَ | āla inna lillāhi man fī l‑samāwāti wa‑man fī l‑arḍi wa‑mā yattabiʿu lladhīna yadʿūna min dūni allāhi shurakāʾa in yattabiʿūna illā l‑ẓanna wa‑in hum illā yakhruṣūna | Behold! verily to Allah belong all creatures, in the heavens and
on earth. What do they follow who worship as His "partners" other than Allah?
They follow nothing but fancy, and they do nothing but lie.
Sura Yūnus 10:66 أَلَآ إِنَّ لِلَّـهِ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَن فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا يَتَّبِعُ ٱلَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّـهِ شُرَكَآءَ إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ وَإِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا يَخْرُصُونَ āla inna lillāhi man fī l-samāwāti wa-man fī l-arḍi wa-mā yattabiʿu lladhīna yadʿūna min dūni allāhi shurakāʾa in yattabiʿūna illā l-ẓanna wa-in hum illā yakhruṣūna Behold! verily to Allah belong all creatures, in the heavens and on earth. What do they follow who worship as His "partners" other than Allah? They follow nothing but fancy, and they do nothing but lie. |
(10:90) | وَجَٰوَزْنَا بِبَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ ٱلْبَحْرَ فَأَتْبَعَهُمْ فِرْعَوْنُ وَجُنُودُهُۥ بَغْيًا وَعَدْوًا حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَآ أَدْرَكَهُ ٱلْغَرَقُ قَالَ ءَامَنتُ أَنَّهُۥ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِىٓ ءَامَنَتْ بِهِۦ بَنُوٓا۟ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ وَأَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ | wa‑jāwaznā bi‑banī isrāʾīla l‑baḥra fa‑atbaʿahum firʿawun wa‑junūduhu baghyan wa‑ʿadwan ḥatta idhā adrakahu l‑gharaqu qalā āmantu annahu lā ilāha illā alladhī āmanat bihi banū isrāʾīla wa‑anā mina l‑muslimīna | We took the Children of Israel across the sea: Pharaoh and his
hosts followed them in insolence and spite. At length, when overwhelmed
with the flood, he said: "I believe that there is no god except Him Whom
the Children of Israel believe in: I am of those who submit (to Allah in
Islam)."
Sura Yūnus 10:90 وَجَٰوَزْنَا بِبَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ ٱلْبَحْرَ فَأَتْبَعَهُمْ فِرْعَوْنُ وَجُنُودُهُۥ بَغْيًا وَعَدْوًا حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَآ أَدْرَكَهُ ٱلْغَرَقُ قَالَ ءَامَنتُ أَنَّهُۥ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِىٓ ءَامَنَتْ بِهِۦ بَنُوٓا۟ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ وَأَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ wa-jāwaznā bi-banī isrāʾīla l-baḥra fa-atbaʿahum firʿawun wa-junūduhu baghyan wa-ʿadwan ḥatta idhā adrakahu l-gharaqu qalā āmantu annahu lā ilāha illā alladhī āmanat bihi banū isrāʾīla wa-anā mina l-muslimīna We took the Children of Israel across the sea: Pharaoh and his hosts followed them in insolence and spite. (10:109) | وَٱتَّبِعْ مَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَيْكَ وَٱصْبِرْ حَتَّىٰ يَحْكُمَ ٱللَّـهُ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ ٱلْحَٰكِمِينَ | wa‑ittabiʿ mā yūḥā ilayka wa‑iṣbir ḥattā yaḥkuma allāhu wa‑huwa khayru l‑ḥākimīna | Follow thou the inspiration sent unto thee, and be patient and
constant, till Allah do decide: for He is the best to decide.
Sura Yūnus 10:109 وَٱتَّبِعْ مَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَيْكَ وَٱصْبِرْ حَتَّىٰ يَحْكُمَ ٱللَّـهُ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ ٱلْحَٰكِمِينَ wa-ittabiʿ mā yūḥā ilayka wa-iṣbir ḥattā yaḥkuma allāhu wa-huwa khayru l-ḥākimīna Follow thou the inspiration sent unto thee, and be patient and constant, till Allah do decide: for He is the best to decide. |
(11:27) | فَقَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن قَوْمِهِۦ مَا نَرَىٰكَ إِلَّا بَشَرًا مِّثْلَنَا وَمَا نَرَىٰكَ ٱتَّبَعَكَ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ أَرَاذِلُنَا بَادِىَ ٱلرَّأْىِ وَمَا نَرَىٰ لَكُمْ عَلَيْنَا مِن فَضْلٍۭ بَلْ نَظُنُّكُمْ كَٰذِبِينَ | fa‑qāla l‑malaʾu lladhīna kafarū min qawmihi mā naraka illā basharan mithlanā wa‑mā naraka ittabaʿaka illā lladhīna hum arādhilunā bādiya l‑raʾyi wa‑mā narā la‑kum ʿalaynā min faḍlin bal naẓunnukum kādhibīna | But the chiefs of the Unbelievers among his people said: "We
see (in) thee nothing but a man like ourselves: Nor do we see that any
follow thee but the meanest among us, in judgment immature: Nor do we see
in you (all) any merit above us: in fact we thing ye are liars!"
Sura Hūd 11:27 فَقَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن قَوْمِهِۦ مَا نَرَىٰكَ إِلَّا بَشَرًا مِّثْلَنَا وَمَا نَرَىٰكَ ٱتَّبَعَكَ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ أَرَاذِلُنَا بَادِىَ ٱلرَّأْىِ وَمَا نَرَىٰ لَكُمْ عَلَيْنَا مِن فَضْلٍۭ بَلْ نَظُنُّكُمْ كَٰذِبِينَ fa-qāla l-malaʾu lladhīna kafarū min qawmihi mā naraka illā basharan mithlanā wa-mā naraka ittabaʿaka illā lladhīna hum arādhilunā bādiya l-raʾyi wa-mā narā la-kum ʿalaynā min faḍlin bal naẓunnukum kādhibīna But the chiefs of the Unbelievers among his people said: "We see (in) thee nothing but a man like ourselves: Nor do we see that any follow thee but the meanest among us, in judgment immature: Nor do we see in you (all) any merit above us: in fact we thing ye are liars!" |
(11:116) | فَلَوْلَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْقُرُونِ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ أُو۟لُوا۟ بَقِيَّةٍ يَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ ٱلْفَسَادِ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا مِّمَّنْ أَنجَيْنَا مِنْهُمْ وَٱتَّبَعَ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ مَآ أُتْرِفُوا۟ فِيهِ وَكَانُوا۟ مُجْرِمِينَ | fa‑lawlā kāna mina l‑qurūni min qablikum ūlū baqīyatin yanhawna ʿani l‑fasādi fī l‑arḍi illā qalīlan mimman anjaynā minhum wa‑ittabaʿa lladhīna ẓalamū mā utrifū fīhi wa‑kānū mujrimīna | Why were there not, among the generations before you, persons
possessed of balanced good sense, prohibiting (men) from mischief in the
earth - except a few among them whom We saved (from harm)? But the
wrong-doers pursued the enjoyment of the good things of life which were
given them, and persisted in sin.
Sura Hūd 11:116 فَلَوْلَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْقُرُونِ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ أُو۟لُوا۟ بَقِيَّةٍ يَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ ٱلْفَسَادِ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا مِّمَّنْ أَنجَيْنَا مِنْهُمْ وَٱتَّبَعَ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ مَآ أُتْرِفُوا۟ فِيهِ وَكَانُوا۟ مُجْرِمِينَ fa-lawlā kāna mina l-qurūni min qablikum ūlū baqīyatin yanhawna ʿani l-fasādi fī l-arḍi illā qalīlan mimman anjaynā minhum wa-ittabaʿa lladhīna ẓalamū mā utrifū fīhi wa-kānū mujrimīna Why were there not, among the generations before you, persons possessed of balanced good sense, prohibiting (men) from mischief in the earth - except a few among them whom We saved (from harm)? But the wrong-doers pursued the enjoyment of the good things of life which were given them, and persisted in sin. |
(12:38) | وَٱتَّبَعْتُ مِلَّةَ ءَابَآءِىٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسْحَٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ مَا كَانَ لَنَآ أَن نُّشْرِكَ بِٱللَّـهِ مِن شَىْءٍ ذَٰلِكَ مِن فَضْلِ ٱللَّـهِ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَشْكُرُونَ | wa‑ittabaʿtu millata ābāī ibrāhīma wa‑isḥāqa wa‑yaʿqūba mā kāna lanā an nushrika billāhi min shayʾin dhālika min faḍli allāhi ʿalaynā wa‑ʿala l‑nāsi wa‑lākinna akthara l‑nāsi lā yashkurūna | "And I follow the ways of my fathers,- Abraham, Isaac, and
Jacob; and never could we attribute any partners whatever to Allah: that
(comes) of the grace of Allah to us and to mankind: yet most men are not
grateful.
Sura Yūsuf 12:38 وَٱتَّبَعْتُ مِلَّةَ ءَابَآءِىٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسْحَٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ مَا كَانَ لَنَآ أَن نُّشْرِكَ بِٱللَّـهِ مِن شَىْءٍ ذَٰلِكَ مِن فَضْلِ ٱللَّـهِ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَشْكُرُونَ wa-ittabaʿtu millata ābāī ibrāhīma wa-isḥāqa wa-yaʿqūba mā kāna lanā an nushrika billāhi min shayʾin dhālika min faḍli allāhi ʿalaynā wa-ʿala l-nāsi wa-lākinna akthara l-nāsi lā yashkurūna "And I follow the ways of my fathers,- Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; and never could we attribute any partners whatever to Allah: that (comes) of the grace of Allah to us and to mankind: yet most men are not grateful. |
(12:108) | قُلْ هَٰذِهِۦ سَبِيلِىٓ أَدْعُوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱللَّـهِ عَلَىٰ بَصِيرَةٍ أَنَا۠ وَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَنِى وَسُبْحَٰنَ ٱللَّـهِ وَمَآ أَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ | qul hādhihi sabīlī adʿū ilā allāhi ʿalā baṣīratin anā wa‑mani attabaʿanī wa‑subḥāna allāhi wa‑mā anā mina l‑mushrikīna | Say thou: "This is my way: I do invite unto Allah,- on evidence
clear as the seeing with one's eyes,- I and whoever follows me. Glory to
Allah! and never will I join gods with Allah!"
Sura Yūsuf 12:108 قُلْ هَٰذِهِۦ سَبِيلِىٓ أَدْعُوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱللَّـهِ عَلَىٰ بَصِيرَةٍ أَنَا۠ وَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَنِى وَسُبْحَٰنَ ٱللَّـهِ وَمَآ أَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ qul hādhihi sabīlī adʿū ilā allāhi ʿalā baṣīratin anā wa-mani attabaʿanī wa-subḥāna allāhi wa-mā anā mina l-mushrikīna Say thou: "This is my way: I do invite unto Allah,- on evidence clear as the seeing with one's eyes,- I and whoever follows me. Glory to Allah! and never will I join gods with Allah!" |
(13:37) | وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَنزَلْنَٰهُ حُكْمًا عَرَبِيًّا وَلَئِنِ ٱتَّبَعْتَ أَهْوَآءَهُم بَعْدَمَا جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ مَا لَكَ مِنَ ٱللَّـهِ مِن وَلِىٍّ وَلَا وَاقٍ | wa‑ka‑dhālika anzalnāhu ḥukman ʿarabiyyan wa‑laʾini ittabaʿta ahwāʾahum baʿdamā jāʾaka mina l‑ʿilmi mā la‑ka mina allāhi min waliyyin wa‑lā wāqin | Thus have We revealed it to be a judgment of authority in
Arabic. Wert thou to follow their (vain) desires after the knowledge which
hath reached thee, then wouldst thou find neither protector nor defender
against Allah.
Sura al-Raʿd 13:37 وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَنزَلْنَٰهُ حُكْمًا عَرَبِيًّا وَلَئِنِ ٱتَّبَعْتَ أَهْوَآءَهُم بَعْدَمَا جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ مَا لَكَ مِنَ ٱللَّـهِ مِن وَلِىٍّ وَلَا وَاقٍ wa-ka-dhālika anzalnāhu ḥukman ʿarabiyyan wa-laʾini ittabaʿta ahwāʾahum baʿdamā jāʾaka mina l-ʿilmi mā la-ka mina allāhi min waliyyin wa-lā wāqin Thus have We revealed it to be a judgment of authority in Arabic. Wert thou to follow their (vain) desires after the knowledge which hath reached thee, then wouldst thou find neither protector nor defender against Allah. |
(14:36) | رَبِّ إِنَّهُنَّ أَضْلَلْنَ كَثِيرًا مِّنَ ٱلنَّاسِ فَمَن تَبِعَنِى فَإِنَّهُۥ مِنِّى وَمَنْ عَصَانِى فَإِنَّكَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ | rabbi innahunna aḍlalna kathīran mina l‑nāsi fa‑man tabiʿanī fa‑innahu minnī wa‑man ʿaṣānī fa‑innaka ghafūrun raḥīmun | "O my Lord! they have indeed led astray many among mankind;
He then who follows my (ways) is of me, and he that disobeys me,- but Thou
art indeed Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.
Sura Ibrāhīm 14:36 رَبِّ إِنَّهُنَّ أَضْلَلْنَ كَثِيرًا مِّنَ ٱلنَّاسِ فَمَن تَبِعَنِى فَإِنَّهُۥ مِنِّى وَمَنْ عَصَانِى فَإِنَّكَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ rabbi innahunna aḍlalna kathīran mina l-nāsi fa-man tabiʿanī fa-innahu minnī wa-man ʿaṣānī fa-innaka ghafūrun raḥīmun "O my Lord! they have indeed led astray many among mankind; He then who follows my (ways) is of me, and he that disobeys me,- but Thou art indeed Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. |
(15:18) | إِلَّا مَنِ ٱسْتَرَقَ ٱلسَّمْعَ فَأَتْبَعَهُۥ شِهَابٌ مُّبِينٌ | illā mani istaraqa l‑samʿa fa‑atbaʿahu shihābun mubīnun | But any that gains a hearing by stealth, is pursued by a
flaming fire, bright (to see).
Sura al-Ḥijr 15:18 إِلَّا مَنِ ٱسْتَرَقَ ٱلسَّمْعَ فَأَتْبَعَهُۥ شِهَابٌ مُّبِينٌ illā mani istaraqa l-samʿa fa-atbaʿahu shihābun mubīnun But any that gains a hearing by stealth, is pursued by a flaming fire, bright (to see). |
(15:42) | إِنَّ عِبَادِى لَيْسَ لَكَ عَلَيْهِمْ سُلْطَٰنٌ إِلَّا مَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلْغَاوِينَ | inna ʿibādī laysa la‑ka ʿalayhim sulṭānun illā mani ittabaʿaka mina l‑ghāwīna | "For over My servants no authority shalt thou have, except
such as put themselves in the wrong and follow thee."
Sura al-Ḥijr 15:42 إِنَّ عِبَادِى لَيْسَ لَكَ عَلَيْهِمْ سُلْطَٰنٌ إِلَّا مَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلْغَاوِينَ inna ʿibādī laysa la-ka ʿalayhim sulṭānun illā mani ittabaʿaka mina l-ghāwīna "For over My servants no authority shalt thou have, except such as put themselves in the wrong and follow thee." |
(15:65) | فَأَسْرِ بِأَهْلِكَ بِقِطْعٍ مِّنَ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱتَّبِعْ أَدْبَٰرَهُمْ وَلَا يَلْتَفِتْ مِنكُمْ أَحَدٌ وَٱمْضُوا۟ حَيْثُ تُؤْمَرُونَ | fa‑asri bi‑ahlika bi‑qiṭʿin mina l‑layli wa‑ittabiʿ adbārahum wa‑lā yaltafit minkum aḥadun wa‑amḍū ḥaythu tuʾmarūna | "Then travel by night with thy household, when a portion of
the night (yet remains), and do thou bring up the rear: let no one amongst
you look back, but pass on whither ye are ordered."
Sura al-Ḥijr 15:65 فَأَسْرِ بِأَهْلِكَ بِقِطْعٍ مِّنَ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱتَّبِعْ أَدْبَٰرَهُمْ وَلَا يَلْتَفِتْ مِنكُمْ أَحَدٌ وَٱمْضُوا۟ حَيْثُ تُؤْمَرُونَ fa-asri bi-ahlika bi-qiṭʿin mina l-layli wa-ittabiʿ adbārahum wa-lā yaltafit minkum aḥadun wa-amḍū ḥaythu tuʾmarūna "Then travel by night with thy household, when a portion of the night (yet remains), and do thou bring up the rear: let no one amongst you look back, but pass on whither ye are ordered." |
(16:123) | ثُمَّ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْكَ أَنِ ٱتَّبِعْ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ حَنِيفًا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ | thumma awḥaynā ilayka ani attabiʿ millata ibrāhīma ḥanīfan wa‑mā kāna mina l‑mushrikīna | So We have taught thee the inspired (Message), "Follow the
ways of Abraham the True in Faith, and he joined not gods with Allah."
Sura al-Naḥl 16:123 ثُمَّ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْكَ أَنِ ٱتَّبِعْ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ حَنِيفًا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ thumma awḥaynā ilayka ani attabiʿ millata ibrāhīma ḥanīfan wa-mā kāna mina l-mushrikīna So We have taught thee the inspired (Message), "Follow the ways of Abraham the True in Faith, and he joined not gods with Allah." |
(17:63) | قَالَ ٱذْهَبْ فَمَن تَبِعَكَ مِنْهُمْ فَإِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ جَزَآؤُكُمْ جَزَآءً مَّوْفُورًا | qalā idhhab fa‑man tabiʿaka minhum fa‑inna jahannama jazāʾukum jazāʾan mawfūran | (Allah) said: "Go thy way; if any of them follow thee, verily
Hell will be the recompense of you (all)- an ample recompense.
Sura al-Isrāʾ 17:63 قَالَ ٱذْهَبْ فَمَن تَبِعَكَ مِنْهُمْ فَإِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ جَزَآؤُكُمْ جَزَآءً مَّوْفُورًا qalā idhhab fa-man tabiʿaka minhum fa-inna jahannama jazāʾukum jazāʾan mawfūran (Allah) said: "Go thy way; if any of them follow thee, verily Hell will be the recompense of you (all)- an ample recompense. |
(18:28) | وَٱصْبِرْ نَفْسَكَ مَعَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ رَبَّهُم بِٱلْغَدَوٰةِ وَٱلْعَشِىِّ يُرِيدُونَ وَجْهَهُۥ وَلَا تَعْدُ عَيْنَاكَ عَنْهُمْ تُرِيدُ زِينَةَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَلَا تُطِعْ مَنْ أَغْفَلْنَا قَلْبَهُۥ عَن ذِكْرِنَا وَٱتَّبَعَ هَوَىٰهُ وَكَانَ أَمْرُهُۥ فُرُطًا | wa‑iṣbir nafsaka maʿa lladhīna yadʿūna rabbahum bil‑ghadāti wa‑l‑ʿashiyyi yurīdūna wajhahu wa‑lā taʿdu ʿaynāka ʿanhum turīdu zīnata l‑ḥayāti l‑dunyā wa‑lā tuṭiʿ man aghfalnā qalbahu ʿan dhikrinā wa‑ittabaʿa hawahu wa‑kāna amruhu furuṭan | And keep thy soul content with those who call on their Lord
morning and evening, seeking His Face; and let not thine eyes pass beyond
them, seeking the pomp and glitter of this Life; no obey any whose heart We
have permitted to neglect the remembrance of Us, one who follows his own
desires, whose case has gone beyond all bounds.
Sura al-Kahf 18:28 وَٱصْبِرْ نَفْسَكَ مَعَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ رَبَّهُم بِٱلْغَدَوٰةِ وَٱلْعَشِىِّ يُرِيدُونَ وَجْهَهُۥ وَلَا تَعْدُ عَيْنَاكَ عَنْهُمْ تُرِيدُ زِينَةَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَلَا تُطِعْ مَنْ أَغْفَلْنَا قَلْبَهُۥ عَن ذِكْرِنَا وَٱتَّبَعَ هَوَىٰهُ وَكَانَ أَمْرُهُۥ فُرُطًا wa-iṣbir nafsaka maʿa lladhīna yadʿūna rabbahum bil-ghadāti wa-l-ʿashiyyi yurīdūna wajhahu wa-lā taʿdu ʿaynāka ʿanhum turīdu zīnata l-ḥayāti l-dunyā wa-lā tuṭiʿ man aghfalnā qalbahu ʿan dhikrinā wa-ittabaʿa hawahu wa-kāna amruhu furuṭan And keep thy soul content with those who call on their Lord morning and evening, seeking His Face; and let not thine eyes pass beyond them, seeking the pomp and glitter of this Life; no obey any whose heart We have permitted to neglect the remembrance of Us, one who follows his own desires, whose case has gone beyond all bounds. |
(18:66) | قَالَ لَهُۥ مُوسَىٰ هَلْ أَتَّبِعُكَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن تُعَلِّمَنِ مِمَّا عُلِّمْتَ رُشْدًا | qalā lahu mūsā hal attabiʿuka ʿala an tuʿallimani mimmā ʿullimta rushdan | Moses said to him: "May I follow thee, on the footing that
thou teach me something of the (Higher) Truth which thou hast been
taught?"
Sura al-Kahf 18:66 قَالَ لَهُۥ مُوسَىٰ هَلْ أَتَّبِعُكَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن تُعَلِّمَنِ مِمَّا عُلِّمْتَ رُشْدًا qalā lahu mūsā hal attabiʿuka ʿala an tuʿallimani mimmā ʿullimta rushdan Moses said to him: "May I follow thee, on the footing that thou teach me something of the (Higher) Truth which thou hast been taught?" |
(18:70) | قَالَ فَإِنِ ٱتَّبَعْتَنِى فَلَا تَسْـَٔلْنِى عَن شَىْءٍ حَتَّىٰٓ أُحْدِثَ لَكَ مِنْهُ ذِكْرًا | qalā fa‑ini ittabaʿtanī fa‑lā tasʾalnī ʿan shayʾin ḥatta uḥditha la‑ka minhu dhikran | The other said: "If then thou wouldst follow me, ask me no
questions about anything until I myself speak to thee concerning it."
Sura al-Kahf 18:70 قَالَ فَإِنِ ٱتَّبَعْتَنِى فَلَا تَسْـَٔلْنِى عَن شَىْءٍ حَتَّىٰٓ أُحْدِثَ لَكَ مِنْهُ ذِكْرًا qalā fa-ini ittabaʿtanī fa-lā tasʾalnī ʿan shayʾin ḥatta uḥditha la-ka minhu dhikran The other said: "If then thou wouldst follow me, ask me no questions about anything until I myself speak to thee concerning it." |
(18:85) | فَأَتْبَعَ سَبَبًا | faatbaʿa sababan | One (such) way he followed,
Sura al-Kahf 18:85 فَأَتْبَعَ سَبَبًا faatbaʿa sababan One (such) way he followed, |
(18:89) | ثُمَّ أَتْبَعَ سَبَبًا | thumma atbaʿa sababan | Then followed he (another) way,
Sura al-Kahf 18:89 ثُمَّ أَتْبَعَ سَبَبًا thumma atbaʿa sababan Then followed he (another) way, |
(18:92) | ثُمَّ أَتْبَعَ سَبَبًا | thumma atbaʿa sababan | Then followed he (another) way,
Sura al-Kahf 18:92 ثُمَّ أَتْبَعَ سَبَبًا thumma atbaʿa sababan Then followed he (another) way, |
(19:43) | يَٰٓأَبَتِ إِنِّى قَدْ جَآءَنِى مِنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ مَا لَمْ يَأْتِكَ فَٱتَّبِعْنِىٓ أَهْدِكَ صِرَٰطًا سَوِيًّا | yā‑abati innī qad jāʾanī mina l‑ʿilmi mā lam yaʾtika fa‑ittabiʿnī ahdika ṣirāṭan sawiyyan | "O my father! to me hath come knowledge which hath not reached
thee: so follow me: I will guide thee to a way that is even and straight.
Sura Maryam 19:43 يَٰٓأَبَتِ إِنِّى قَدْ جَآءَنِى مِنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ مَا لَمْ يَأْتِكَ فَٱتَّبِعْنِىٓ أَهْدِكَ صِرَٰطًا سَوِيًّا yā-abati innī qad jāʾanī mina l-ʿilmi mā lam yaʾtika fa-ittabiʿnī ahdika ṣirāṭan sawiyyan "O my father! to me hath come knowledge which hath not reached thee: so follow me: I will guide thee to a way that is even and straight. |
(20:16) | فَلَا يَصُدَّنَّكَ عَنْهَا مَن لَّا يُؤْمِنُ بِهَا وَٱتَّبَعَ هَوَىٰهُ فَتَرْدَىٰ | fa‑lā yaṣuddannaka ʿanhā man lā yuʾminū bihā wa‑ittabaʿa hawahu fa‑tardā | "Therefore let not such as believe not therein but follow
their own lusts, divert thee therefrom, lest thou perish!"..
Sura Ṭā Hā 20:16 فَلَا يَصُدَّنَّكَ عَنْهَا مَن لَّا يُؤْمِنُ بِهَا وَٱتَّبَعَ هَوَىٰهُ فَتَرْدَىٰ fa-lā yaṣuddannaka ʿanhā man lā yuʾminū bihā wa-ittabaʿa hawahu fa-tardā "Therefore let not such as believe not therein but follow their own lusts, divert thee therefrom, lest thou perish!".. |
(20:47) | فَأْتِيَاهُ فَقُولَآ إِنَّا رَسُولَا رَبِّكَ فَأَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ وَلَا تُعَذِّبْهُمْ قَدْ جِئْنَٰكَ بِـَٔايَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكَ وَٱلسَّلَٰمُ عَلَىٰ مَنِ ٱتَّبَعَ ٱلْهُدَىٰٓ | fa‑ʾtiyāhu fa‑qūlā innā rasūlā rabbika fa‑arsil maʿanā banī isrāʾīla wa‑lā tuʿadhdhibhum qad jiʾnāka bi‑āyatin min rabbika wal‑salāmu ʿalā mani ittabaʿa l‑hudā | "So go ye both to him, and say, 'Verily we are messengers sent
by thy Lord: Send forth, therefore, the Children of Israel with us, and
afflict them not: with a Sign, indeed, have we come from thy Lord! and
peace to all who follow guidance!
Sura Ṭā Hā 20:47 فَأْتِيَاهُ فَقُولَآ إِنَّا رَسُولَا رَبِّكَ فَأَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ وَلَا تُعَذِّبْهُمْ قَدْ جِئْنَٰكَ بِـَٔايَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكَ وَٱلسَّلَٰمُ عَلَىٰ مَنِ ٱتَّبَعَ ٱلْهُدَىٰٓ fa-ʾtiyāhu fa-qūlā innā rasūlā rabbika fa-arsil maʿanā banī isrāʾīla wa-lā tuʿadhdhibhum qad jiʾnāka bi-āyatin min rabbika wal-salāmu ʿalā mani ittabaʿa l-hudā "So go ye both to him, and say, 'Verily we are messengers sent by thy Lord: Send forth, therefore, the Children of Israel with us, and afflict them not: with a Sign, indeed, have we come from thy Lord! and peace to all who follow guidance! |
(20:78) | فَأَتْبَعَهُمْ فِرْعَوْنُ بِجُنُودِهِۦ فَغَشِيَهُم مِّنَ ٱلْيَمِّ مَا غَشِيَهُمْ | fa‑atbaʿahum firʿawun bi‑junūdihi fa‑ghashiyahum mina l‑yammi mā ghashiyahum | Then Pharaoh pursued them with his forces, but the waters
completely overwhelmed them and covered them up.
Sura Ṭā Hā 20:78 فَأَتْبَعَهُمْ فِرْعَوْنُ بِجُنُودِهِۦ فَغَشِيَهُم مِّنَ ٱلْيَمِّ مَا غَشِيَهُمْ fa-atbaʿahum firʿawun bi-junūdihi fa-ghashiyahum mina l-yammi mā ghashiyahum Then Pharaoh pursued them with his forces, but the waters completely overwhelmed them and covered them up. |
