They followed what the evil ones gave out (falsely) against the power of Solomon: the blasphemers Were, not Solomon, but the evil ones, teaching men Magic, and such things as came down at babylon to the angels Harut and Marut. But neither of these taught anyone (Such things) without saying: "We are only for trial; so do not blaspheme." They learned from them the means to sow discord between man and wife. But they could not thus harm anyone except by Allah's permission. And they learned what harmed them, not what profited them. And they knew that the buyers of (magic) would have no share in the happiness of the Hereafter. And vile was the price for which they did sell their souls, if they but knew!
(2:129)

"Our Lord! send amongst them a Messenger of their own, who shall rehearse Thy Signs to them and instruct them in scripture and wisdom, and sanctify them: For Thou art the Exalted in Might, the Wise."
(2:151)

Surah 3 Āl-ʿImrān (The Family of Imran)
(3:101)

وَكَيْفَ  تَكْفُرُونَ  وَأَنتُمْ  تُتْلَىٰ  عَلَيْكُمْ  ءَايَٰتُ  ٱللَّـهِ  وَفِيكُمْ  رَسُولُهُۥ  وَمَن  يَعْتَصِم  بِٱللَّـهِ  فَقَدْ  هُدِىَ  إِلَىٰ  صِرَٰطٍ  مُّسْتَقِيمٍ wa‑kayfa takfurūna wa‑antum tutlā ʿalaykum āyātu allāhi wa‑fīkum rasūluhu wa‑man yaʿtaṣim billāhi fa‑qad hudīa ilā ṣirāṭin mustaqīmin
And how would ye deny Faith while unto you are rehearsed the Signs of Allah, and among you Lives the Messenger? Whoever holds firmly to Allah will be shown a way that is straight.
(3:164)

لَقَدْ  مَنَّ  ٱللَّـهُ  عَلَى  ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ  إِذْ  بَعَثَ  فِيهِمْ  رَسُولًا  مِّنْ  أَنفُسِهِمْ  يَتْلُوا۟  عَلَيْهِمْ  ءَايَٰتِهِۦ  وَيُزَكِّيهِمْ  وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ  ٱلْكِتَٰبَ  وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ  وَإِن  كَانُوا۟  مِن  قَبْلُ  لَفِى  ضَلَٰلٍ  مُّبِينٍ la‑qad manna allāhu ʿalā l‑muʾminīna idh baʿatha fīhim rasūlan min anfusihim yatlū ʿalayhim āyātihi wa‑yuzakkīhim wa‑yuʿallimuhumu l‑kitāba wa‑l‑ḥikmata wa‑in kānū min qablu la‑fī ḍalālin mubīnin

They ask thy instruction concerning the women say: Allah doth instruct you about them: And (remember) what hath been rehearsed unto you in the Book, concerning the orphans of women to whom ye give not the portions prescribed, and yet whom ye desire to marry, as also concerning the children who are weak and oppressed: that ye stand firm for justice to orphans. There is not a good deed which ye do, but Allah is well-acquainted therewith.

Recite to them the truth of the story of the two sons of Adam. Behold! they each presented a sacrifice (to Allah): It was accepted from one, but not from the other. Said the latter: "Be sure I will slay thee." "Surely," said the former, "Allah doth accept of the sacrifice of those who are righteous.

Whether open or secret; take not life, which Allah hath made sacred, except by way of justice and law: thus doth He command you, that ye may learn wisdom.

Surah 7 al-Aʿrāf (The Heights)
(7:175)

وَٱتْلُ  عَلَيْهِمْ  نَبَأَ  ٱلَّذِىٓ  ءَاتَيْنَٰهُ  ءَايَٰتِنَا  فَٱنسَلَخَ  مِنْهَا  فَأَتْبَعَهُ  ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ  فَكَانَ  مِنَ  ٱلْغَاوِينَ wa‑itlu ʿalayhim nabaʾa alladhī ātaynāhu āyātinā fa‑insalakha minhā fa‑atbaʿahu l‑shayṭānu fa‑kāna mina l‑ghāwīna

Surah 8 al-Anfāl (The Spoils of War)

For, Believers are those who, when Allah is mentioned, feel a tremor in their hearts, and when they hear His signs rehearsed, find their faith strengthened, and put (all) their trust in their Lord;
(8:31)

وَإِذَا  تُتْلَىٰ  عَلَيْهِمْ  ءَايَٰتُنَا  قَالُوا۟  قَدْ  سَمِعْنَا  لَوْ  نَشَآءُ  لَقُلْنَا  مِثْلَ  هَٰذَآ  إِنْ  هَٰذَآ  إِلَّآ  أَسَٰطِيرُ  ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ wa‑idhā tutlā ʿalayhim āyātunā qālū qad samiʿnā law nashāʾu laqulnā mithla hādhā in hādhā illā asāṭīru l‑awwalīna

وَإِذَا  تُتْلَىٰ  عَلَيْهِمْ  ءَايَاتُنَا  بَيِّنَٰتٍ  قَالَ  ٱلَّذِينَ  لَا  يَرْجُونَ  لِقَآءَنَا  ٱئْتِ  بِقُرْءَانٍ  غَيْرِ  هَٰذَآ  أَوْ  بَدِّلْهُ  قُلْ  مَا  يَكُونُ  لِىٓ  أَنْ  أُبَدِّلَهُۥ  مِن  تِلْقَآئِ  نَفْسِىٓ  إِنْ  أَتَّبِعُ  إِلَّا  مَا  يُوحَىٰٓ  إِلَىَّ  إِنِّىٓ  أَخَافُ  إِنْ  عَصَيْتُ  رَبِّى  عَذَابَ  يَوْمٍ  عَظِيمٍ wa‑idhā tutlā ʿalayhim āyātunā bayyinātin qalā lladhīna yarjūna liqāʾanā iʾti bi‑qurʾānin ghayri hādhā aw baddilhu qul yakūnu an ubaddilahu min tilqāʾi nafsī in attabiʿu illā yūḥā ilayya innī akhāfu in ʿaṣaytu rabbī ʿadhāba yawmin ʿaẓīmin
But when Our Clear Signs are rehearsed unto them, those who rest not their hope on their meeting with Us, Say: "Bring us a reading other than this, or change this," Say: "It is not for me, of my own accord, to change it: I follow naught but what is revealed unto me: if I were to disobey my Lord, I should myself fear the penalty of a Great Day (to come)."
(10:16)

قُل  لَّوْ  شَآءَ  ٱللَّـهُ  مَا  تَلَوْتُهُۥ  عَلَيْكُمْ  وَلَآ  أَدْرَىٰكُم  بِهِۦ  فَقَدْ  لَبِثْتُ  فِيكُمْ  عُمُرًا  مِّن  قَبْلِهِۦٓ  أَفَلَا  تَعْقِلُونَ qul law shāʾa allāhu talawtuhu ʿalaykum wa‑lā adrakum bihi fa‑qad labithtu fīkum ʿumuran min qablihi a‑fa‑lā taʿqilūna
Say: "If Allah had so willed, I should not have rehearsed it to you, nor would He have made it known to you. A whole life-time before this have I tarried amongst you: will ye not then understand?"
(10:61)

In whatever business thou mayest be, and whatever portion thou mayest be reciting from the Qur'an,- and whatever deed ye (mankind) may be doing,- We are witnesses thereof when ye are deeply engrossed therein. Nor is hidden from thy Lord (so much as) the weight of an atom on the earth or in heaven. And not the least and not the greatest of these things but are recorded in a clear record.
(10:71)

وَٱتْلُ  عَلَيْهِمْ  نَبَأَ  نُوحٍ  إِذْ  قَالَ  لِقَوْمِهِۦ  يَٰقَوْمِ  إِن  كَانَ  كَبُرَ  عَلَيْكُم  مَّقَامِى  وَتَذْكِيرِى  بِـَٔايَٰتِ  ٱللَّـهِ  فَعَلَى  ٱللَّـهِ  تَوَكَّلْتُ  فَأَجْمِعُوٓا۟  أَمْرَكُمْ  وَشُرَكَآءَكُمْ  ثُمَّ  لَا  يَكُنْ  أَمْرُكُمْ  عَلَيْكُمْ  غُمَّةً  ثُمَّ  ٱقْضُوٓا۟  إِلَىَّ  وَلَا  تُنظِرُونِ wa‑itlu ʿalayhim nabaʾa nūḥin idh qalā li‑qawmihi yā‑qawmi in kāna kabura ʿalaykum maqāmī wa‑tadhkīrī bi‑āyāti allāhi faʿala allāhi tawakkaltu faajmiʿū amrakum washurakāakum thumma yakun amrukum ʿalaykum ghummatan thumma aqḍū ilayya wa‑lā tunẓirūni
Relate to them the story of Noah. Behold! he said to his people: "O my people, if it be hard on your (mind) that I should stay (with you) and commemorate the signs of Allah,- yet I put my trust in Allah. Get ye then an agreement about your plan and among your partners, so your plan be on to you dark and dubious. Then pass your sentence on me, and give me no respite.

Surah 11 Hūd (Hud)
(11:17)

أَفَمَن  كَانَ  عَلَىٰ  بَيِّنَةٍ  مِّن  رَّبِّهِۦ  وَيَتْلُوهُ  شَاهِدٌ  مِّنْهُ  وَمِن  قَبْلِهِۦ  كِتَٰبُ  مُوسَىٰٓ  إِمَامًا  وَرَحْمَةً  أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ  يُؤْمِنُونَ  بِهِۦ  وَمَن  يَكْفُرْ  بِهِۦ  مِنَ  ٱلْأَحْزَابِ  فَٱلنَّارُ  مَوْعِدُهُۥ  فَلَا  تَكُ  فِى  مِرْيَةٍ  مِّنْهُ  إِنَّهُ  ٱلْحَقُّ  مِن  رَّبِّكَ  وَلَٰكِنَّ  أَكْثَرَ  ٱلنَّاسِ  لَا  يُؤْمِنُونَ a‑fa‑man kāna ʿalā bayyinatin min rabbihi wa‑yatlūhu shāhidun minhu wa‑min qablihi kitābu mūsā imāman wa‑raḥmatan ulāʾika yuʾminūna bihi wa‑man yakfur bihi mina l‑aḥzābi fa‑l‑nāru mawʿiduhu fa‑lā taku miryatin minhu innahu l‑ḥaqqu min rabbika wa‑lākinna akthara l‑nāsi yuʾminūna
Can they be (like) those who accept a Clear (Sign) from their Lord, and whom a witness from Himself doth teach, as did the Book of Moses before it,- a guide and a mercy? They believe therein; but those of the Sects that reject it,- the Fire will be their promised meeting-place. Be not then in doubt thereon: for it is the truth from thy Lord: yet many among men do not believe!

Surah 13 al-Raʿd (The Thunder)

Thus have we sent thee amongst a People before whom (long since) have (other) Peoples (gone and) passed away; in order that thou mightest rehearse unto them what We send down unto thee by inspiration; yet do they reject (Him), the Most Gracious! Say: "He is my Lord! There is no god but He! On Him is my trust, and to Him do I turn!"

Surah 17 al-Isrāʾ (The Children of Israel)

Surah 19 Maryam (Mary)
(19:58)

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ  ٱلَّذِينَ  أَنْعَمَ  ٱللَّـهُ  عَلَيْهِم  مِّنَ  ٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ  مِن  ذُرِّيَّةِ  ءَادَمَ  وَمِمَّنْ  حَمَلْنَا  مَعَ  نُوحٍ  وَمِن  ذُرِّيَّةِ  إِبْرَٰهِيمَ  وَإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ  وَمِمَّنْ  هَدَيْنَا  وَٱجْتَبَيْنَآ  إِذَا  تُتْلَىٰ  عَلَيْهِمْ  ءَايَٰتُ  ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ  خَرُّوا۟  سُجَّدًا  وَبُكِيًّا ulāʾika lladhīna anʿama allāhu ʿalayhim mina l‑nabiyyina min dhurriyyatī ādama wa‑mimman ḥamalnā maʿa nūḥin wa‑min dhurriyyatī ibrāhīma waisrāīla wa‑mimman hadaynā wa‑ijtabaynā idhā tutlā ʿalayhim āyātu l‑raḥmāni kharrū sujjadan wa‑bukiyyan
Those were some of the prophets on whom Allah did bestow His Grace,- of the posterity of Adam, and of those who We carried (in the Ark) with Noah, and of the posterity of Abraham and Israel of those whom We guided and chose. Whenever the Signs of (Allah) Most Gracious were rehearsed to them, they would fall down in prostrate adoration and in tears.
(19:73)

When Our Clear Signs are rehearsed to them, the Unbelievers say to those who believe, "Which of the two sides is best in point of position? Which makes the best show in council?"

Surah 22 al-Ḥajj (The Pilgrimage)
(22:30)

ذَٰلِكَ  وَمَن  يُعَظِّمْ  حُرُمَٰتِ  ٱللَّـهِ  فَهُوَ  خَيْرٌ  لَّهُۥ  عِندَ  رَبِّهِۦ  وَأُحِلَّتْ  لَكُمُ  ٱلْأَنْعَٰمُ  إِلَّا  مَا  يُتْلَىٰ  عَلَيْكُمْ  فَٱجْتَنِبُوا۟  ٱلرِّجْسَ  مِنَ  ٱلْأَوْثَٰنِ  وَٱجْتَنِبُوا۟  قَوْلَ  ٱلزُّورِ dhālika wa‑man yuʿaẓẓim ḥurumāti allāhi fa‑huwa khayrun lahu ʿinda rabbihi wa‑uḥillat lakumu l‑anʿāmu illā yutlā ʿalaykum fa‑ijtanibū l‑rijsa mina l‑awthāni wa‑ijtanibū qawla l‑zūri
Such (is the Pilgrimage): whoever honours the sacred rites of Allah, for him it is good in the Sight of his Lord. Lawful to you (for food in Pilgrimage) are cattle, except those mentioned to you (as exception): but shun the abomination of idols, and shun the word that is false,-
(22:72)

وَإِذَا  تُتْلَىٰ  عَلَيْهِمْ  ءَايَٰتُنَا  بَيِّنَٰتٍ  تَعْرِفُ  فِى  وُجُوهِ  ٱلَّذِينَ  كَفَرُوا۟  ٱلْمُنكَرَ  يَكَادُونَ  يَسْطُونَ  بِٱلَّذِينَ  يَتْلُونَ  عَلَيْهِمْ  ءَايَٰتِنَا  قُلْ  أَفَأُنَبِّئُكُم  بِشَرٍّ  مِّن  ذَٰلِكُمُ  ٱلنَّارُ  وَعَدَهَا  ٱللَّـهُ  ٱلَّذِينَ  كَفَرُوا۟  وَبِئْسَ  ٱلْمَصِيرُ wa‑idhā tutlā ʿalayhim āyātunā bayyinātin taʿrifu wujūhi lladhīna kafarū l‑munkara yakādūna yasṭūna bi‑lladhīna yatlūna ʿalayhim āyātinā qul a‑fa‑unabbiʾukum bisharrin min dhālikumu l‑nāru waʿadahā allāhu lladhīna kafarū wa‑bisa l‑maṣīru
When Our Clear Signs are rehearsed to them, thou wilt notice a denial on the faces of the Unbelievers! they nearly attack with violence those who rehearse Our Signs to them. Say, "Shall I tell you of something (far) worse than these Signs? It is the Fire (of Hell)! Allah has promised it to the Unbelievers! and evil is that destination!"

Surah 23 al-Muʾminūn (The Believers)
(23:66)

قَدْ  كَانَتْ  ءَايَٰتِى  تُتْلَىٰ  عَلَيْكُمْ  فَكُنتُمْ  عَلَىٰٓ  أَعْقَٰبِكُمْ  تَنكِصُونَ qad kānat āyātī tutlā ʿalaykum fakuntum ʿala aʿqābikum tankiṣūna
"My Signs used to be rehearsed to you, but ye used to turn back on your heels-
(23:105)

أَلَمْ  تَكُنْ  ءَايَٰتِى  تُتْلَىٰ  عَلَيْكُمْ  فَكُنتُم  بِهَا  تُكَذِّبُونَ a‑lam takun āyātī tutlā ʿalaykum fa‑kuntum bihā tukadhdhibūna
"Were not My Signs rehearsed to you, and ye did but treat them as falsehood?"

Surah 26 al-Shuʿarā (The Poets)
(26:69)

وَٱتْلُ  عَلَيْهِمْ  نَبَأَ  إِبْرَٰهِيمَ wa‑itlu ʿalayhim nabaʾa ibrāhīma
And rehearse to them (something of) Abraham's story.

Surah 27 al-Naml (The Ant)
(27:92)

وَأَنْ  أَتْلُوَا۟  ٱلْقُرْءَانَ  فَمَنِ  ٱهْتَدَىٰ  فَإِنَّمَا  يَهْتَدِى  لِنَفْسِهِۦ  وَمَن  ضَلَّ  فَقُلْ  إِنَّمَآ  أَنَا۠  مِنَ  ٱلْمُنذِرِينَ wa‑an atlūā l‑qurʾāna fa‑mani ihtadā fa‑innamā yahtadī li‑nafsihi wa‑man ḍalla fa‑qul innamā anā mina l‑mundhirīna
And to rehearse the Qur'an: and if any accept guidance, they do it for the good of their own souls, and if any stray, say: "I am only a Warner".

Surah 28 al-Qaṣaṣ (The Narrative)
(28:45)

But We raised up (new) generations, and long were the ages that passed over them; but thou wast not a dweller among the people of Madyan, rehearsing Our Signs to them; but it is We Who send messengers (with inspiration).
(28:53)

And when it is recited to them, they say: "We believe therein, for it is the Truth from our Lord: indeed we have been Muslims (bowing to Allah's Will) from before this.
(28:59)

Nor was thy Lord the one to destroy a population until He had sent to its centre a messenger, rehearsing to them Our Signs; nor are We going to destroy a population except when its members practise iniquity.

Surah 29 al-ʿAnkabūt (The Spider)
(29:45)

ٱتْلُ  مَآ  أُوحِىَ  إِلَيْكَ  مِنَ  ٱلْكِتَٰبِ  وَأَقِمِ  ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ  إِنَّ  ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ  تَنْهَىٰ  عَنِ  ٱلْفَحْشَآءِ  وَٱلْمُنكَرِ  وَلَذِكْرُ  ٱللَّـهِ  أَكْبَرُ  وَٱللَّـهُ  يَعْلَمُ  مَا  تَصْنَعُونَ itlu ūḥiya ilayka mina l‑kitābi wa‑aqimi l‑ṣalāta inna l‑ṣalāta tanha ʿani l‑faḥshāʾi wa‑l‑munkari wa‑la‑dhikru allāhi akbaru wallāhu yaʿlamu taṣnaʿūna
Recite what is sent of the Book by inspiration to thee, and establish regular Prayer: for Prayer restrains from shameful and unjust deeds; and remembrance of Allah is the greatest (thing in life) without doubt. And Allah knows the (deeds) that ye do.
(29:48)

And thou wast not (able) to recite a Book before this (Book came), nor art thou (able) to transcribe it with thy right hand: In that case, indeed, would the talkers of vanities have doubted.
(29:51)

أَوَلَمْ  يَكْفِهِمْ  أَنَّآ  أَنزَلْنَا  عَلَيْكَ  ٱلْكِتَٰبَ  يُتْلَىٰ  عَلَيْهِمْ  إِنَّ  فِى  ذَٰلِكَ  لَرَحْمَةً  وَذِكْرَىٰ  لِقَوْمٍ  يُؤْمِنُونَ a‑wa‑lam yakfihim annā anzalnā ʿalayka l‑kitāba yutlā ʿalayhim inna dhālika la‑raḥmatan wa‑dhikrā li‑qawmin yuʾminūna
And is it not enough for them that we have sent down to thee the Book which is rehearsed to them? Verily, in it is Mercy and a Reminder to those who believe.

Surah 31 Luqmān (Lukman)
(31:7)

وَإِذَا  تُتْلَىٰ  عَلَيْهِ  ءَايَٰتُنَا  وَلَّىٰ  مُسْتَكْبِرًا  كَأَن  لَّمْ  يَسْمَعْهَا  كَأَنَّ  فِىٓ  أُذُنَيْهِ  وَقْرًا  فَبَشِّرْهُ  بِعَذَابٍ  أَلِيمٍ wa‑idhā tutlā ʿalayhi āyātunā walla mustakbiran ka‑an lam yasmaʿhā ka‑anna udhunayhi waqran fa‑bashshirhu bi‑ʿadhābin alīmin
When Our Signs are rehearsed to such a one, he turns away in arrogance, as if he heard them not, as if there were deafness in both his ears: announce to him a grievous Penalty.

Surah 33 al-Aḥzāb (The Allies)
(33:34)

And recite what is rehearsed to you in your homes, of the Signs of Allah and His Wisdom: for Allah understands the finest mysteries and is well-acquainted (with them).

Surah 34 Sabaʾ (Sheba)
(34:43)

وَإِذَا  تُتْلَىٰ  عَلَيْهِمْ  ءَايَٰتُنَا  بَيِّنَٰتٍ  قَالُوا۟  مَا  هَٰذَآ  إِلَّا  رَجُلٌ  يُرِيدُ  أَن  يَصُدَّكُمْ  عَمَّا  كَانَ  يَعْبُدُ  ءَابَآؤُكُمْ  وَقَالُوا۟  مَا  هَٰذَآ  إِلَّآ  إِفْكٌ  مُّفْتَرًى  وَقَالَ  ٱلَّذِينَ  كَفَرُوا۟  لِلْحَقِّ  لَمَّا  جَآءَهُمْ  إِنْ  هَٰذَآ  إِلَّا  سِحْرٌ  مُّبِينٌ wa‑idhā tutlā ʿalayhim āyātunā bayyinātin qālū hādhā illā rajulun yurīdu an yaṣuddakum ʿammā kāna yaʿbudu ābāʾukum wa‑qālū hādhā illā ifkun muftaran wa‑qāla lladhīna kafarū lil‑ḥaqqi lammā jāʾahum in hādhā illā siḥrun mubīnun
When Our Clear Signs are rehearsed to them, they say, "This is only a man who wishes to hinder you from the (worship) which your fathers practised." And they say, "This is only a falsehood invented!" and the Unbelievers say of the Truth when it comes to them, "This is nothing but evident magic!"

Surah 45 al-Jāthiyah (The Kneeling)
(45:8)

يَسْمَعُ  ءَايَٰتِ  ٱللَّـهِ  تُتْلَىٰ  عَلَيْهِ  ثُمَّ  يُصِرُّ  مُسْتَكْبِرًا  كَأَن  لَّمْ  يَسْمَعْهَا  فَبَشِّرْهُ  بِعَذَابٍ  أَلِيمٍ yasmaʿu āyāti allāhi tutlā ʿalayhi thumma yuṣirru mustakbiran ka‑an lam yasmaʿhā fa‑bashshirhu bi‑ʿadhābin alīmin
He hears the Signs of Allah rehearsed to him, yet is obstinate and lofty, as if he had not heard them: then announce to him a Penalty Grievous!
(45:25)

وَإِذَا  تُتْلَىٰ  عَلَيْهِمْ  ءَايَٰتُنَا  بَيِّنَٰتٍ  مَّا  كَانَ  حُجَّتَهُمْ  إِلَّآ  أَن  قَالُوا۟  ٱئْتُوا۟  بِـَٔابَآئِنَآ  إِن  كُنتُمْ  صَٰدِقِينَ wa‑idhā tutlā ʿalayhim āyātunā bayyinātin kāna ḥujjatahum illā an qālū iʾtū bi‑ābāʾinā in kuntum ṣādiqīna
And when Our Clear Signs are rehearsed to them their argument is nothing but this: They say, "Bring (back) our forefathers, if what ye say is true!"
(45:31)

وَأَمَّا  ٱلَّذِينَ  كَفَرُوٓا۟  أَفَلَمْ  تَكُنْ  ءَايَٰتِى  تُتْلَىٰ  عَلَيْكُمْ  فَٱسْتَكْبَرْتُمْ  وَكُنتُمْ  قَوْمًا  مُّجْرِمِينَ wa‑ammā lladhīna kafarū a‑fa‑lam takun āyātī tutlā ʿalaykum fa‑istakbartum wa‑kuntum qawman mujrimīna
But as to those who rejected Allah, (to them will be said): "Were not Our Signs rehearsed to you? But ye were arrogant, and were a people given to sin!

Surah 46 al-Aḥqāf (The Sandhills)
(46:7)

When Our Clear Signs are rehearsed to them, the Unbelievers say, of the Truth when it comes to them: "This is evident sorcery!"

Surah 62 al-Jumuʿah (The Day of Congregation)
(62:2)

هُوَ  ٱلَّذِى  بَعَثَ  فِى  ٱلْأُمِّيِّۦنَ  رَسُولًا  مِّنْهُمْ  يَتْلُوا۟  عَلَيْهِمْ  ءَايَٰتِهِۦ  وَيُزَكِّيهِمْ  وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ  ٱلْكِتَٰبَ  وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ  وَإِن  كَانُوا۟  مِن  قَبْلُ  لَفِى  ضَلَٰلٍ  مُّبِينٍ huwa alladhī baʿatha l‑ummiyyina rasūlan minhum yatlū ʿalayhim āyātihi wa‑yuzakkīhim wa‑yuʿallimuhumu l‑kitāba wa‑l‑ḥikmata wa‑in kānū min qablu la‑fī ḍalālin mubīnin
It is He Who has sent amongst the Unlettered a messenger from among themselves, to rehearse to them His Signs, to sanctify them, and to instruct them in Scripture and Wisdom,- although they had been, before, in manifest error;-

Surah 65 al-Ṭalāq (The Divorce)
(65:11)

رَّسُولًا  يَتْلُوا۟  عَلَيْكُمْ  ءَايَٰتِ  ٱللَّـهِ  مُبَيِّنَٰتٍ  لِّيُخْرِجَ  ٱلَّذِينَ  ءَامَنُوا۟  وَعَمِلُوا۟  ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ  مِنَ  ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ  إِلَى  ٱلنُّورِ  وَمَن  يُؤْمِنۢ  بِٱللَّـهِ  وَيَعْمَلْ  صَٰلِحًا  يُدْخِلْهُ  جَنَّٰتٍ  تَجْرِى  مِن  تَحْتِهَا  ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ  خَٰلِدِينَ  فِيهَآ  أَبَدًا  قَدْ  أَحْسَنَ  ٱللَّـهُ  لَهُۥ  رِزْقًا rrasūlan yatlū ʿalaykum āyāti allāhi mubayyinātin llīukhrija lladhīna āmanū wa‑ʿamilū l‑ṣāliḥāti mina l‑ẓulumāti ilā l‑nūri wa‑man yuʾmin billāhi wa‑yaʿmal ṣāliḥan yudkhilhu jannātin tajrī min taḥtihā l‑anhāru khālidīna fīhā abadan qad aḥsana allāhu lahu rizqan
An Messenger, who rehearses to you the Signs of Allah containing clear explanations, that he may lead forth those who believe and do righteous deeds from the depths of Darkness into Light. And those who believe in Allah and work righteousness, He will admit to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow, to dwell therein for ever: Allah has indeed granted for them a most excellent Provision.

Surah 68 al-Qalam (The Pen)
(68:15)

When to him are rehearsed Our Signs, "Tales of the ancients", he cries!

Surah 83 al-Muṭaffifīn (The Defrauders)
(83:13)

When Our Signs are rehearsed to him, he says, "Tales of the ancients!"

Surah 91 al-Shams (The Sun)
(91:2)

By the Moon as she follows him;

Surah 98 al-Bayyinah (The Proof)
(98:2)

An messenger from Allah, rehearsing scriptures kept pure and holy:
