(3:179) | مَّا كَانَ ٱللَّـهُ لِيَذَرَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلَىٰ مَآ أَنتُمْ عَلَيْهِ حَتَّىٰ يَمِيزَ ٱلْخَبِيثَ مِنَ ٱلطَّيِّبِ وَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّـهُ لِيُطْلِعَكُمْ عَلَى ٱلْغَيْبِ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ يَجْتَبِى مِن رُّسُلِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ فَـَٔامِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّـهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦ وَإِن تُؤْمِنُوا۟ وَتَتَّقُوا۟ فَلَكُمْ أَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌ | mā kāna allāhu li‑yadhara l‑muʾminīna ʿalā mā antum ʿalayhi ḥattā yamīza l‑khabītha mina l‑ṭayyibi wa‑mā kāna allāhu li‑yuṭliʿakum ʿalā l‑ghaybi wa‑lākinna allāha yajtabī min rrusulihi man yashāʾu fa‑āminū billāhi wa‑rusulihi wa‑in tūʾminū wa‑tattaqū fa‑lakum ajrun ʿaẓīmun | Allah will not leave the believers in the state in which ye are
now, until He separates what is evil from what is good nor will He disclose
to you the secrets of the Unseen. But He chooses of His Messengers (For the
purpose) whom He pleases. So believe in Allah. And His messengers: And if ye
believe and do right, ye have a reward without measure.
Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:179 مَّا كَانَ ٱللَّـهُ لِيَذَرَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلَىٰ مَآ أَنتُمْ عَلَيْهِ حَتَّىٰ يَمِيزَ ٱلْخَبِيثَ مِنَ ٱلطَّيِّبِ وَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّـهُ لِيُطْلِعَكُمْ عَلَى ٱلْغَيْبِ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ يَجْتَبِى مِن رُّسُلِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ فَـَٔامِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّـهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦ وَإِن تُؤْمِنُوا۟ وَتَتَّقُوا۟ فَلَكُمْ أَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌ mā kāna allāhu li-yadhara l-muʾminīna ʿalā mā antum ʿalayhi ḥattā yamīza l-khabītha mina l-ṭayyibi wa-mā kāna allāhu li-yuṭliʿakum ʿalā l-ghaybi wa-lākinna allāha yajtabī min rrusulihi man yashāʾu fa-āminū billāhi wa-rusulihi wa-in tūʾminū wa-tattaqū fa-lakum ajrun ʿaẓīmun Allah will not leave the believers in the state in which ye are now, until He separates what is evil from what is good nor will He disclose to you the secrets of the Unseen. But He chooses of His Messengers (For the purpose) whom He pleases. So believe in Allah. And His messengers: And if ye believe and do right, ye have a reward without measure. |
(12:6) | وَكَذَٰلِكَ يَجْتَبِيكَ رَبُّكَ وَيُعَلِّمُكَ مِن تَأْوِيلِ ٱلْأَحَادِيثِ وَيُتِمُّ نِعْمَتَهُۥ عَلَيْكَ وَعَلَىٰٓ ءَالِ يَعْقُوبَ كَمَآ أَتَمَّهَا عَلَىٰٓ أَبَوَيْكَ مِن قَبْلُ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسْحَٰقَ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ | wa‑ka‑dhālika yajtabīka rabbuka wa‑yuʿallimuka min taʾwīli l‑aḥādīthi wa‑yutimmu niʿmatahu ʿalayka wa‑ʿala āli yaʿqūba ka‑mā atammahā ʿala abawayka min qablu ibrāhīma wa‑isḥāqa inna rabbaka ʿalīmun ḥakīmun | "Thus will thy Lord choose thee and teach thee the
interpretation of stories (and events) and perfect His favour to thee and
to the posterity of Jacob - even as He perfected it to thy fathers Abraham
and Isaac aforetime! for Allah is full of knowledge and wisdom."
Sura Yūsuf 12:6 وَكَذَٰلِكَ يَجْتَبِيكَ رَبُّكَ وَيُعَلِّمُكَ مِن تَأْوِيلِ ٱلْأَحَادِيثِ وَيُتِمُّ نِعْمَتَهُۥ عَلَيْكَ وَعَلَىٰٓ ءَالِ يَعْقُوبَ كَمَآ أَتَمَّهَا عَلَىٰٓ أَبَوَيْكَ مِن قَبْلُ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسْحَٰقَ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ wa-ka-dhālika yajtabīka rabbuka wa-yuʿallimuka min taʾwīli l-aḥādīthi wa-yutimmu niʿmatahu ʿalayka wa-ʿala āli yaʿqūba ka-mā atammahā ʿala abawayka min qablu ibrāhīma wa-isḥāqa inna rabbaka ʿalīmun ḥakīmun "Thus will thy Lord choose thee and teach thee the interpretation of stories (and events) and perfect His favour to thee and to the posterity of Jacob - even as He perfected it to thy fathers Abraham and Isaac aforetime! for Allah is full of knowledge and wisdom." |
(16:121) | شَاكِرًا لِّأَنْعُمِهِ ٱجْتَبَىٰهُ وَهَدَىٰهُ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ | shākiran li‑anʿumihi ijtabāhu wa‑hadahu ilā ṣirāṭin mustaqīmin | He showed his gratitude for the favours of Allah, who chose him,
and guided him to a Straight Way.
Sura al-Naḥl 16:121 شَاكِرًا لِّأَنْعُمِهِ ٱجْتَبَىٰهُ وَهَدَىٰهُ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ shākiran li-anʿumihi ijtabāhu wa-hadahu ilā ṣirāṭin mustaqīmin He showed his gratitude for the favours of Allah, who chose him, and guided him to a Straight Way. |
(20:122) | ثُمَّ ٱجْتَبَٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ فَتَابَ عَلَيْهِ وَهَدَىٰ | thumma jtabāhu rabbuhu fa‑tāba ʿalayhi wa‑hada | But his Lord chose him (for His Grace): He turned to him, and
gave him Guidance.
Sura Ṭā Hā 20:122 ثُمَّ ٱجْتَبَٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ فَتَابَ عَلَيْهِ وَهَدَىٰ thumma jtabāhu rabbuhu fa-tāba ʿalayhi wa-hada But his Lord chose him (for His Grace): He turned to him, and gave him Guidance. |
(22:78) | وَجَٰهِدُوا۟ فِى ٱللَّـهِ حَقَّ جِهَادِهِۦ هُوَ ٱجْتَبَىٰكُمْ وَمَا جَعَلَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِى ٱلدِّينِ مِنْ حَرَجٍ مِّلَّةَ أَبِيكُمْ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ هُوَ سَمَّىٰكُمُ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ مِن قَبْلُ وَفِى هَٰذَا لِيَكُونَ ٱلرَّسُولُ شَهِيدًا عَلَيْكُمْ وَتَكُونُوا۟ شُهَدَآءَ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ فَأَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتُوا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَٱعْتَصِمُوا۟ بِٱللَّـهِ هُوَ مَوْلَىٰكُمْ فَنِعْمَ ٱلْمَوْلَىٰ وَنِعْمَ ٱلنَّصِيرُ | wa‑jāhidū fī allāhi ḥaqqa jihādihi huwa ijtabākum wa‑mā jaʿala ʿalaykum fī l‑dīni min ḥarajin millata abīkum ibrāhīma huwa sammakumu l‑muslimīna min qablu wa‑fī hādhā li‑yakūna l‑rasūlu shahīdan ʿalaykum wa‑takūnū shuhadāʾa ʿalā l‑nāsi fa‑aqīmū l‑ṣalāta wa‑ātū l‑zakāta wa‑iʿtaṣimū billāhi huwa mawlakum fa‑niʿma l‑mawlā wa‑niʿma l‑naṣīru | And strive in His cause as ye ought to strive, (with sincerity
and under discipline). He has chosen you, and has imposed no difficulties
on you in religion; it is the cult of your father Abraham. It is He Who has
named you Muslims, both before and in this (Revelation); that the Messenger
may be a witness for you, and ye be witnesses for mankind! So establish
regular Prayer, give regular Charity, and hold fast to Allah! He is your
Protector - the Best to protect and the Best to help!
Sura al-Ḥajj 22:78 وَجَٰهِدُوا۟ فِى ٱللَّـهِ حَقَّ جِهَادِهِۦ هُوَ ٱجْتَبَىٰكُمْ وَمَا جَعَلَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِى ٱلدِّينِ مِنْ حَرَجٍ مِّلَّةَ أَبِيكُمْ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ هُوَ سَمَّىٰكُمُ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ مِن قَبْلُ وَفِى هَٰذَا لِيَكُونَ ٱلرَّسُولُ شَهِيدًا عَلَيْكُمْ وَتَكُونُوا۟ شُهَدَآءَ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ فَأَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتُوا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَٱعْتَصِمُوا۟ بِٱللَّـهِ هُوَ مَوْلَىٰكُمْ فَنِعْمَ ٱلْمَوْلَىٰ وَنِعْمَ ٱلنَّصِيرُ wa-jāhidū fī allāhi ḥaqqa jihādihi huwa ijtabākum wa-mā jaʿala ʿalaykum fī l-dīni min ḥarajin millata abīkum ibrāhīma huwa sammakumu l-muslimīna min qablu wa-fī hādhā li-yakūna l-rasūlu shahīdan ʿalaykum wa-takūnū shuhadāʾa ʿalā l-nāsi fa-aqīmū l-ṣalāta wa-ātū l-zakāta wa-iʿtaṣimū billāhi huwa mawlakum fa-niʿma l-mawlā wa-niʿma l-naṣīru And strive in His cause as ye ought to strive, (with sincerity and under discipline). (28:57) | وَقَالُوٓا۟ إِن نَّتَّبِعِ ٱلْهُدَىٰ مَعَكَ نُتَخَطَّفْ مِنْ أَرْضِنَآ أَوَلَمْ نُمَكِّن لَّهُمْ حَرَمًا ءَامِنًا يُجْبَىٰٓ إِلَيْهِ ثَمَرَٰتُ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ رِّزْقًا مِّن لَّدُنَّا وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ | wa‑qālū in nnattabiʿi l‑hudā maʿaka nutakhaṭṭaf min arḍinā a‑wa‑lam numakkin lahum ḥaraman āminan yujba ilayhi thamarātu kulli shayʾin rizqan min lladunnā wa‑lākinna aktharahum lā yaʿlamūna | They say: "If we were to follow the guidance with thee, we
should be snatched away from our land." Have We not established for them a
secure sanctuary, to which are brought as tribute fruits of all kinds,- a
provision from Ourselves? but most of them understand not.
Sura al-Qaṣaṣ 28:57 وَقَالُوٓا۟ إِن نَّتَّبِعِ ٱلْهُدَىٰ مَعَكَ نُتَخَطَّفْ مِنْ أَرْضِنَآ أَوَلَمْ نُمَكِّن لَّهُمْ حَرَمًا ءَامِنًا يُجْبَىٰٓ إِلَيْهِ ثَمَرَٰتُ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ رِّزْقًا مِّن لَّدُنَّا وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ wa-qālū in nnattabiʿi l-hudā maʿaka nutakhaṭṭaf min arḍinā a-wa-lam numakkin lahum ḥaraman āminan yujba ilayhi thamarātu kulli shayʾin rizqan min lladunnā wa-lākinna aktharahum lā yaʿlamūna They say: "If we were to follow the guidance with thee, we should be snatched away from our land." Have We not established for them a secure sanctuary, to which are brought as tribute fruits of all kinds,- a provision from Ourselves? but most of them understand not. |
(42:13) | شَرَعَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلدِّينِ مَا وَصَّىٰ بِهِۦ نُوحًا وَٱلَّذِىٓ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْكَ وَمَا وَصَّيْنَا بِهِۦٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ وَعِيسَىٰٓ أَنْ أَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلدِّينَ وَلَا تَتَفَرَّقُوا۟ فِيهِ كَبُرَ عَلَى ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ مَا تَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَيْهِ ٱللَّـهُ يَجْتَبِىٓ إِلَيْهِ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَهْدِىٓ إِلَيْهِ مَن يُنِيبُ | sharaʿa la‑kum mina l‑dīni mā waṣṣā bihi nūḥan wa‑alladhī awḥaynā ilayka wa‑mā waṣṣaynā bihi ibrāhīma wa‑mūsa wa‑ʿīsa an aqīmū l‑dīna wa‑lā tatafarraqū fīhi kabura ʿalā l‑mushrikīna mā tadʿūhum ilayhi allāhu yajtabī ilayhi man yashāʾu wa‑yahdī ilayhi man yunību | The same religion has He established for you as that which He
enjoined on Noah - the which We have sent by inspiration to thee - and that
which We enjoined on Abraham, Moses, and Jesus: Namely, that ye should
remain steadfast in religion, and make no divisions therein: to those who
worship other things than Allah, hard is the (way) to which thou callest
them. Allah chooses to Himself those whom He pleases, and guides to Himself
those who turn (to Him).
Sura al-Shūrā 42:13 شَرَعَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلدِّينِ مَا وَصَّىٰ بِهِۦ نُوحًا وَٱلَّذِىٓ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْكَ وَمَا وَصَّيْنَا بِهِۦٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ وَعِيسَىٰٓ أَنْ أَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلدِّينَ وَلَا تَتَفَرَّقُوا۟ فِيهِ كَبُرَ عَلَى ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ مَا تَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَيْهِ ٱللَّـهُ يَجْتَبِىٓ إِلَيْهِ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَهْدِىٓ إِلَيْهِ مَن يُنِيبُ sharaʿa la-kum mina l-dīni mā waṣṣā bihi nūḥan wa-alladhī awḥaynā ilayka wa-mā waṣṣaynā bihi ibrāhīma wa-mūsa wa-ʿīsa an aqīmū l-dīna wa-lā tatafarraqū fīhi kabura ʿalā l-mushrikīna mā tadʿūhum ilayhi allāhu yajtabī ilayhi man yashāʾu wa-yahdī ilayhi man yunību The same religion has He established for you as that which He enjoined on Noah - the which We have sent by inspiration to thee - and that which We enjoined on Abraham, Moses, and Jesus: Namely, that ye should remain steadfast in religion, and make no divisions therein: to those who worship other things than Allah, hard is the (way) to which thou callest them. (68:50) | فَٱجْتَبَٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ فَجَعَلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ | fa‑ijtabāhu rabbuhu fa‑jaʿalahu mina l‑ṣāliḥīna | Thus did his Lord choose him and make him of the Company of
the Righteous.
Sura al-Qalam 68:50 فَٱجْتَبَٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ فَجَعَلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ fa-ijtabāhu rabbuhu fa-jaʿalahu mina l-ṣāliḥīna Thus did his Lord choose him and make him of the Company of the Righteous. |
