(2:76) | وَإِذَا لَقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا وَإِذَا خَلَا بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَىٰ بَعْضٍ قَالُوٓا۟ أَتُحَدِّثُونَهُم بِمَا فَتَحَ ٱللَّـهُ عَلَيْكُمْ لِيُحَآجُّوكُم بِهِۦ عِندَ رَبِّكُمْ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ | wa‑idhā laqū lladhīna āmanū qālū āmannā wa‑idhā khalā baʿḍuhum ilā baʿḍin qālū atuḥaddithūnahum bi‑mā fataḥa allāhu ʿalaykum li‑yuḥājjūkum bihi ʿinda rabbikum a‑fa‑lā taʿqilūna | Behold! when they meet the men of Faith, they say: "We
believe": But when they meet each other in private, they say: "Shall you
tell them what Allah hath revealed to you, that they may engage you in
argument about it before your Lord?"- Do ye not understand (their aim)?
Sura al-Baqara 2:76 وَإِذَا لَقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا وَإِذَا خَلَا بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَىٰ بَعْضٍ قَالُوٓا۟ أَتُحَدِّثُونَهُم بِمَا فَتَحَ ٱللَّـهُ عَلَيْكُمْ لِيُحَآجُّوكُم بِهِۦ عِندَ رَبِّكُمْ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ wa-idhā laqū lladhīna āmanū qālū āmannā wa-idhā khalā baʿḍuhum ilā baʿḍin qālū atuḥaddithūnahum bi-mā fataḥa allāhu ʿalaykum li-yuḥājjūkum bihi ʿinda rabbikum a-fa-lā taʿqilūna Behold! when they meet the men of Faith, they say: "We believe": But when they meet each other in private, they say: "Shall you tell them what Allah hath revealed to you, that they may engage you in argument about it before your Lord?"- Do ye not understand (their aim)? |
(2:158) | إِنَّ ٱلصَّفَا وَٱلْمَرْوَةَ مِن شَعَآئِرِ ٱللَّـهِ فَمَنْ حَجَّ ٱلْبَيْتَ أَوِ ٱعْتَمَرَ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْهِ أَن يَطَّوَّفَ بِهِمَا وَمَن تَطَوَّعَ خَيْرًا فَإِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ شَاكِرٌ عَلِيمٌ | inna l‑ṣafā wa‑l‑marwata min shaʿāʾiri allāhi fa‑man ḥajja l‑bayta awi ʿtamara fa‑lā junāḥa ʿalayhi an yaṭṭawwafa bihimā wa‑man taṭawwaʿa khayran fa‑inna allāha shākirun ʿalīmun | Behold! Safa and Marwa are among the Symbols of Allah. So if
those who visit the House in the Season or at other times, should compass
them round, it is no sin in them. And if any one obeyeth his own impulse to
good,- be sure that Allah is He Who recogniseth and knoweth.
Sura al-Baqara 2:158 إِنَّ ٱلصَّفَا وَٱلْمَرْوَةَ مِن شَعَآئِرِ ٱللَّـهِ فَمَنْ حَجَّ ٱلْبَيْتَ أَوِ ٱعْتَمَرَ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْهِ أَن يَطَّوَّفَ بِهِمَا وَمَن تَطَوَّعَ خَيْرًا فَإِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ شَاكِرٌ عَلِيمٌ inna l-ṣafā wa-l-marwata min shaʿāʾiri allāhi fa-man ḥajja l-bayta awi ʿtamara fa-lā junāḥa ʿalayhi an yaṭṭawwafa bihimā wa-man taṭawwaʿa khayran fa-inna allāha shākirun ʿalīmun Behold! Safa and Marwa are among the Symbols of Allah. So if those who visit the House in the Season or at other times, should compass them round, it is no sin in them. And if any one obeyeth his own impulse to good,- be sure that Allah is He Who recogniseth and knoweth. |
(2:258) | أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِى حَآجَّ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمَ فِى رَبِّهِۦٓ أَنْ ءَاتَىٰهُ ٱللَّـهُ ٱلْمُلْكَ إِذْ قَالَ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمُ رَبِّىَ ٱلَّذِى يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ قَالَ أَنَا۠ أُحْىِۦ وَأُمِيتُ قَالَ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمُ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ يَأْتِى بِٱلشَّمْسِ مِنَ ٱلْمَشْرِقِ فَأْتِ بِهَا مِنَ ٱلْمَغْرِبِ فَبُهِتَ ٱلَّذِى كَفَرَ وَٱللَّـهُ لَا يَهْدِى ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ | a‑lam tara ilā alladhī ḥājja ibrāhīma fī rabbihi an ātahu allāhu l‑mulka idh qalā ibrāhīmu rabbiya alladhī yuḥyi wa‑yumītu qalā anā uḥyi wa‑umītu qalā ibrāhīmu fa‑inna allāha yaʾtī bil‑shamsi mina l‑mashriqi fa‑ʾti bihā mina l‑maghribi fa‑buhita alladhī kafara wallāhu lā yahdī l‑qawma l‑ẓālimīna | Hast thou not Turned thy vision to one who disputed with
Abraham About his Lord, because Allah had granted him power? Abraham said:
"My Lord is He Who Giveth life and death." He said: "I give life and
death". Said Abraham: "But it is Allah that causeth the sun to rise from the
east: Do thou then cause him to rise from the West." Thus was he confounded
who (in arrogance) rejected faith. Nor doth Allah Give guidance to a people
unjust.
Sura al-Baqara 2:258 أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِى حَآجَّ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمَ فِى رَبِّهِۦٓ أَنْ ءَاتَىٰهُ ٱللَّـهُ ٱلْمُلْكَ إِذْ قَالَ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمُ رَبِّىَ ٱلَّذِى يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ قَالَ أَنَا۠ أُحْىِۦ وَأُمِيتُ قَالَ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمُ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ يَأْتِى بِٱلشَّمْسِ مِنَ ٱلْمَشْرِقِ فَأْتِ بِهَا مِنَ ٱلْمَغْرِبِ فَبُهِتَ ٱلَّذِى كَفَرَ وَٱللَّـهُ لَا يَهْدِى ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ a-lam tara ilā alladhī ḥājja ibrāhīma fī rabbihi an ātahu allāhu l-mulka idh qalā ibrāhīmu rabbiya alladhī yuḥyi wa-yumītu qalā anā uḥyi wa-umītu qalā ibrāhīmu fa-inna allāha yaʾtī bil-shamsi mina l-mashriqi fa-ʾti bihā mina l-maghribi fa-buhita alladhī kafara wallāhu lā yahdī l-qawma l-ẓālimīna Hast thou not Turned thy vision to one who disputed with Abraham About his Lord, because Allah had granted him power? (3:20) | فَإِنْ حَآجُّوكَ فَقُلْ أَسْلَمْتُ وَجْهِىَ لِلَّـهِ وَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَنِ وَقُل لِّلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْأُمِّيِّۦنَ ءَأَسْلَمْتُمْ فَإِنْ أَسْلَمُوا۟ فَقَدِ ٱهْتَدَوا۟ وَّإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْبَلَٰغُ وَٱللَّـهُ بَصِيرٌۢ بِٱلْعِبَادِ | fa‑in ḥājjūka fa‑qul aslamtu wajhiya lillāhi wa‑mani ittabaʿani wa‑qul li‑lladhīna ūtū l‑kitāba wa‑l‑ummīyina a‑aslamtum fa‑in aslamū fa‑qadi ihtadaw wa‑in tawallaw fa‑innamā ʿalayka l‑balāghu wallāhu baṣīrun bil‑ʿibādi | So if they dispute with thee, say: "I have submitted My whole
self to Allah and so have those who follow me." And say to the People of the
Book and to those who are unlearned: "Do ye (also) submit yourselves?" If
they do, they are in right guidance, but if they turn back, Thy duty is to
convey the Message; and in Allah's sight are (all) His servants.
Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:20 فَإِنْ حَآجُّوكَ فَقُلْ أَسْلَمْتُ وَجْهِىَ لِلَّـهِ وَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَنِ وَقُل لِّلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْأُمِّيِّۦنَ ءَأَسْلَمْتُمْ فَإِنْ أَسْلَمُوا۟ فَقَدِ ٱهْتَدَوا۟ وَّإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْبَلَٰغُ وَٱللَّـهُ بَصِيرٌۢ بِٱلْعِبَادِ fa-in ḥājjūka fa-qul aslamtu wajhiya lillāhi wa-mani ittabaʿani wa-qul li-lladhīna ūtū l-kitāba wa-l-ummīyina a-aslamtum fa-in aslamū fa-qadi ihtadaw wa-in tawallaw fa-innamā ʿalayka l-balāghu wallāhu baṣīrun bil-ʿibādi So if they dispute with thee, say: "I have submitted My whole self to Allah and so have those who follow me." And say to the People of the Book and to those who are unlearned: "Do ye (also) submit yourselves?" If they do, they are in right guidance, but if they turn back, Thy duty is to convey the Message; and in Allah's sight are (all) His servants. |
(3:61) | فَمَنْ حَآجَّكَ فِيهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ فَقُلْ تَعَالَوْا۟ نَدْعُ أَبْنَآءَنَا وَأَبْنَآءَكُمْ وَنِسَآءَنَا وَنِسَآءَكُمْ وَأَنفُسَنَا وَأَنفُسَكُمْ ثُمَّ نَبْتَهِلْ فَنَجْعَل لَّعْنَتَ ٱللَّـهِ عَلَى ٱلْكَٰذِبِينَ | fa‑man ḥājjaka fīhi min baʿdi mā jāʾaka mina l‑ʿilmi fa‑qul taʿālaw nadʿu abnāʾanā wa‑abnāʾakum wa‑nisāʾanā wa‑nisāʾakum wa‑anfusanā wa‑anfusakum thumma nabtahil fa‑najʿal llaʿnata allāhi ʿalā l‑kādhibīna | If any one disputes in this matter with thee, now after (full)
knowledge Hath come to thee, say: "Come! let us gather together,- our sons
and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves: Then let
us earnestly pray, and invoke the curse of Allah on those who lie!"
Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:61 فَمَنْ حَآجَّكَ فِيهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ فَقُلْ تَعَالَوْا۟ نَدْعُ أَبْنَآءَنَا وَأَبْنَآءَكُمْ وَنِسَآءَنَا وَنِسَآءَكُمْ وَأَنفُسَنَا وَأَنفُسَكُمْ ثُمَّ نَبْتَهِلْ فَنَجْعَل لَّعْنَتَ ٱللَّـهِ عَلَى ٱلْكَٰذِبِينَ fa-man ḥājjaka fīhi min baʿdi mā jāʾaka mina l-ʿilmi fa-qul taʿālaw nadʿu abnāʾanā wa-abnāʾakum wa-nisāʾanā wa-nisāʾakum wa-anfusanā wa-anfusakum thumma nabtahil fa-najʿal llaʿnata allāhi ʿalā l-kādhibīna If any one disputes in this matter with thee, now after (full) knowledge Hath come to thee, say: "Come! let us gather together,- our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves: Then let us earnestly pray, and invoke the curse of Allah on those who lie!" |
(3:73) | وَلَا تُؤْمِنُوٓا۟ إِلَّا لِمَن تَبِعَ دِينَكُمْ قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْهُدَىٰ هُدَى ٱللَّـهِ أَن يُؤْتَىٰٓ أَحَدٌ مِّثْلَ مَآ أُوتِيتُمْ أَوْ يُحَآجُّوكُمْ عِندَ رَبِّكُمْ قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْفَضْلَ بِيَدِ ٱللَّـهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَن يَشَآءُ وَٱللَّـهُ وَٰسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ | wa‑lā tūʾminū illā li‑man tabiʿa dīnakum qul inna l‑hudā huda allāhi an yuʾtā aḥadun mithla mā ūtītum aw yuḥājjūkum ʿinda rabbikum qul inna l‑faḍla bi‑yadi allāhi yuʾtīhi man yashāʾu wallāhu wāsiʿun ʿalīmun | "And believe no one unless he follows your religion." Say:
"True guidance is the Guidance of Allah: (Fear ye) Lest a revelation be sent
to someone (else) Like unto that which was sent unto you? or that those
(Receiving such revelation) should engage you in argument before your
Lord?" Say: "All bounties are in the hand of Allah: He granteth them to whom
He pleaseth: And Allah careth for all, and He knoweth all things."
Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:73 وَلَا تُؤْمِنُوٓا۟ إِلَّا لِمَن تَبِعَ دِينَكُمْ قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْهُدَىٰ هُدَى ٱللَّـهِ أَن يُؤْتَىٰٓ أَحَدٌ مِّثْلَ مَآ أُوتِيتُمْ أَوْ يُحَآجُّوكُمْ عِندَ رَبِّكُمْ قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْفَضْلَ بِيَدِ ٱللَّـهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَن يَشَآءُ وَٱللَّـهُ وَٰسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ wa-lā tūʾminū illā li-man tabiʿa dīnakum qul inna l-hudā huda allāhi an yuʾtā aḥadun mithla mā ūtītum aw yuḥājjūkum ʿinda rabbikum qul inna l-faḍla bi-yadi allāhi yuʾtīhi man yashāʾu wallāhu wāsiʿun ʿalīmun "And believe no one unless he follows your religion." Say: "True guidance is the Guidance of Allah: (Fear ye) Lest a revelation be sent to someone (else) Like unto that which was sent unto you? or that those (Receiving such revelation) should engage you in argument before your Lord?" Say: "All bounties are in the hand of Allah: He granteth them to whom He pleaseth: And Allah careth for all, and He knoweth all things." |
(6:80) | وَحَآجَّهُۥ قَوْمُهُۥ قَالَ أَتُحَٰٓجُّوٓنِّى فِى ٱللَّـهِ وَقَدْ هَدَىٰنِ وَلَآ أَخَافُ مَا تُشْرِكُونَ بِهِۦٓ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ رَبِّى شَيْـًٔا وَسِعَ رَبِّى كُلَّ شَىْءٍ عِلْمًا أَفَلَا تَتَذَكَّرُونَ | waḥājjahu qawmuhu qalā atuḥājjūnnī fī allāhi wa‑qad hadani wa‑lā akhāfu mā tushrikūna bihi illā an yashāʾa rabbī shayʾan wasiʿa rabbī kulla shayʾin ʿilman a‑fa‑lā tatadhakkarūna | His people disputed with him. He said: "(Come) ye to dispute
with me, about Allah, when He (Himself) hath guided me? I fear not (the
beings) ye associate with Allah: Unless my Lord willeth, (nothing can
happen). My Lord comprehendeth in His knowledge all things. Will ye not
(yourselves) be admonished?
Sura al-Anʿām 6:80 وَحَآجَّهُۥ قَوْمُهُۥ قَالَ أَتُحَٰٓجُّوٓنِّى فِى ٱللَّـهِ وَقَدْ هَدَىٰنِ وَلَآ أَخَافُ مَا تُشْرِكُونَ بِهِۦٓ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ رَبِّى شَيْـًٔا وَسِعَ رَبِّى كُلَّ شَىْءٍ عِلْمًا أَفَلَا تَتَذَكَّرُونَ waḥājjahu qawmuhu qalā atuḥājjūnnī fī allāhi wa-qad hadani wa-lā akhāfu mā tushrikūna bihi illā an yashāʾa rabbī shayʾan wasiʿa rabbī kulla shayʾin ʿilman a-fa-lā tatadhakkarūna His people disputed with him. He said: "(Come) ye to dispute with me, about Allah, when He (Himself) hath guided me? I fear not (the beings) ye associate with Allah: Unless my Lord willeth, (nothing can happen). My Lord comprehendeth in His knowledge all things. Will ye not (yourselves) be admonished? |
(40:47) | وَإِذْ يَتَحَآجُّونَ فِى ٱلنَّارِ فَيَقُولُ ٱلضُّعَفَٰٓؤُا۟ لِلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَكْبَرُوٓا۟ إِنَّا كُنَّا لَكُمْ تَبَعًا فَهَلْ أَنتُم مُّغْنُونَ عَنَّا نَصِيبًا مِّنَ ٱلنَّارِ | wa‑idh yataḥājjūna fī l‑nāri fa‑yaqūlu l‑ḍuʿafāʾu li‑lladhīna istakbarū innā kunnā la‑kum tabaʿan fa‑hal antum mughnūna ʿannā naṣīban mina l‑nāri | Behold, they will dispute with each other in the Fire! The
weak ones (who followed) will say to those who had been arrogant, "We but
followed you: Can ye then take (on yourselves) from us some share of the
Fire?
Sura al-Ghāfir 40:47 وَإِذْ يَتَحَآجُّونَ فِى ٱلنَّارِ فَيَقُولُ ٱلضُّعَفَٰٓؤُا۟ لِلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَكْبَرُوٓا۟ إِنَّا كُنَّا لَكُمْ تَبَعًا فَهَلْ أَنتُم مُّغْنُونَ عَنَّا نَصِيبًا مِّنَ ٱلنَّارِ wa-idh yataḥājjūna fī l-nāri fa-yaqūlu l-ḍuʿafāʾu li-lladhīna istakbarū innā kunnā la-kum tabaʿan fa-hal antum mughnūna ʿannā naṣīban mina l-nāri Behold, they will dispute with each other in the Fire! The weak ones (who followed) will say to those who had been arrogant, "We but followed you: Can ye then take (on yourselves) from us some share of the Fire? |
(42:16) | وَٱلَّذِينَ يُحَآجُّونَ فِى ٱللَّـهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا ٱسْتُجِيبَ لَهُۥ حُجَّتُهُمْ دَاحِضَةٌ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ وَعَلَيْهِمْ غَضَبٌ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ | wa‑lladhīna yuḥājjūna fī allāhi min baʿdi mā istujība lahu ḥujjatuhum dāḥiḍatun ʿinda rabbihim wa‑ʿalayhim ghaḍabun wa‑lahum ʿadhābun shadīdun | But those who dispute concerning Allah after He has been
accepted,- futile is their dispute in the Sight of their Lord: on them will
be a Penalty terrible.
Sura al-Shūrā 42:16 وَٱلَّذِينَ يُحَآجُّونَ فِى ٱللَّـهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا ٱسْتُجِيبَ لَهُۥ حُجَّتُهُمْ دَاحِضَةٌ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ وَعَلَيْهِمْ غَضَبٌ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ wa-lladhīna yuḥājjūna fī allāhi min baʿdi mā istujība lahu ḥujjatuhum dāḥiḍatun ʿinda rabbihim wa-ʿalayhim ghaḍabun wa-lahum ʿadhābun shadīdun But those who dispute concerning Allah after He has been accepted,- futile is their dispute in the Sight of their Lord: on them will be a Penalty terrible. |
