Surah 2 al-Baqara (The Cow)
RefArabic    TransliterationTranslation
(2:173)

He hath only forbidden you dead meat, and blood, and the flesh of swine, and that on which any other name hath been invoked besides that of Allah. But if one is forced by necessity, without wilful disobedience, nor transgressing due limits,- then is he guiltless. For Allah is Oft-forgiving Most Merciful.
(2:275)

Those who devour usury will not stand except as stand one whom the Evil one by his touch Hath driven to madness. That is because they say: "Trade is like usury," but Allah hath permitted trade and forbidden usury. Those who after receiving direction from their Lord, desist, shall be pardoned for the past; their case is for Allah (to judge); but those who repeat (The offence) are companions of the Fire: They will abide therein (for ever).

Forbidden to you (for food) are: dead meat, blood, the flesh of swine, and that on which hath been invoked the name of other than Allah; that which hath been killed by strangling, or by a violent blow, or by a headlong fall, or by being gored to death; that which hath been (partly) eaten by a wild animal; unless ye are able to slaughter it (in due form); that which is sacrificed on stone (altars); (forbidden) also is the division (of meat) by raffling with arrows: that is impiety. This day have those who reject faith given up all hope of your religion: yet fear them not but fear Me. This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion. But if any is forced by hunger, with no inclination to transgression, Allah is indeed Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.

They do blaspheme who say: "Allah is Christ the son of Mary." But said Christ: "O Children of Israel! worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Whoever joins other gods with Allah,- Allah will forbid him the garden, and the Fire will be his abode. There will for the wrong-doers be no one to help.

Why should ye not eat of (meats) on which Allah's name hath been pronounced, when He hath explained to you in detail what is forbidden to you - except under compulsion of necessity? But many do mislead (men) by their appetites unchecked by knowledge. Thy Lord knoweth best those who transgress.

The Companions of the Fire will call to the Companions of the Garden: "Pour down to us water or anything that Allah doth provide for your sustenance." They will say: "Both these things hath Allah forbidden to those who rejected Him."
(7:157)

"Those who follow the messenger, the unlettered Prophet, whom they find mentioned in their own (scriptures),- in the law and the Gospel;- for he commands them what is just and forbids them what is evil; he allows them as lawful what is good (and pure) and prohibits them from what is bad (and impure); He releases them from their heavy burdens and from the yokes that are upon them. So it is those who believe in him, honour him, help him, and follow the light which is sent down with him,- it is they who will prosper."

Surah 9 al-Tawbah (Repentance)
(9:29)

قَٰتِلُوا۟  ٱلَّذِينَ  لَا  يُؤْمِنُونَ  بِٱللَّـهِ  وَلَا  بِٱلْيَوْمِ  ٱلْأَخِرِ  وَلَا  يُحَرِّمُونَ  مَا  حَرَّمَ  ٱللَّـهُ  وَرَسُولُهُۥ  وَلَا  يَدِينُونَ  دِينَ  ٱلْحَقِّ  مِنَ  ٱلَّذِينَ  أُوتُوا۟  ٱلْكِتَٰبَ  حَتَّىٰ  يُعْطُوا۟  ٱلْجِزْيَةَ  عَن  يَدٍ  وَهُمْ  صَٰغِرُونَ qātilū lladhīna yuʾminūna billāhi wa‑lā bil‑yawmi l‑akhiri wa‑lā yuḥarrimūna ḥarrama allāhu wa‑rasūluhu wa‑lā yadīnūna dīna l‑ḥaqqi mina lladhīna ūtū l‑kitāba ḥattā yuʿṭū l‑jizyata ʿan yadin wa‑hum ṣāghirūna
Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.
(9:37)

إِنَّمَا  ٱلنَّسِىٓءُ  زِيَادَةٌ  فِى  ٱلْكُفْرِ  يُضَلُّ  بِهِ  ٱلَّذِينَ  كَفَرُوا۟  يُحِلُّونَهُۥ  عَامًا  وَيُحَرِّمُونَهُۥ  عَامًا  لِّيُوَاطِـُٔوا۟  عِدَّةَ  مَا  حَرَّمَ  ٱللَّـهُ  فَيُحِلُّوا۟  مَا  حَرَّمَ  ٱللَّـهُ  زُيِّنَ  لَهُمْ  سُوٓءُ  أَعْمَٰلِهِمْ  وَٱللَّـهُ  لَا  يَهْدِى  ٱلْقَوْمَ  ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ innamā l‑nasīu ziyādatun l‑kufri yuḍallu bihi lladhīna kafarū yuḥillūnahu ʿāman wa‑yuḥarrimūnahu ʿāman li‑yuwāṭiʾū ʿiddata ḥarrama allāhu fa‑yuḥillū ḥarrama allāhu zuyyina lahum sūu aʿmālihim wallāhu yahdī l‑qawma l‑kāfirīna
Verily the transposing (of a prohibited month) is an addition to Unbelief: the Unbelievers are led to wrong thereby: for they make it lawful one year, and forbidden another year, in order to adjust the number of months forbidden by Allah and make such forbidden ones lawful. The evil of their course seems pleasing to them. But Allah guideth not those who reject Faith.

Surah 16 al-Naḥl (The Bee)
(16:115)

He has only forbidden you dead meat, and blood, and the flesh of swine, and any (food) over which the name of other than Allah has been invoked. But if one is forced by necessity, without wilful disobedience, nor transgressing due limits,- then Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Surah 17 al-Isrāʾ (The Children of Israel)
(17:33)

وَلَا  تَقْتُلُوا۟  ٱلنَّفْسَ  ٱلَّتِى  حَرَّمَ  ٱللَّـهُ  إِلَّا  بِٱلْحَقِّ  وَمَن  قُتِلَ  مَظْلُومًا  فَقَدْ  جَعَلْنَا  لِوَلِيِّهِۦ  سُلْطَٰنًا  فَلَا  يُسْرِف  فِّى  ٱلْقَتْلِ  إِنَّهُۥ  كَانَ  مَنصُورًا wa‑lā taqtulū l‑nafsa allatī ḥarrama allāhu illā bil‑ḥaqqi wa‑man qutila maẓlūman fa‑qad jaʿalnā li‑waliyyihi sulṭānan fa‑lā yusrif l‑qatli innahu kāna manṣūran
Nor take life - which Allah has made sacred - except for just cause. And if anyone is slain wrongfully, we have given his heir authority (to demand qisas or to forgive): but let him not exceed bounds in the matter of taking life; for he is helped (by the Law).

Surah 24 al-Nūr (The Light)
(24:3)

Let no man guilty of adultery or fornication marry and but a woman similarly guilty, or an Unbeliever: nor let any but such a man or an Unbeliever marry such a woman: to the Believers such a thing is forbidden.

Surah 25 al-Furqān (The Criterion)
(25:68)

وَٱلَّذِينَ  لَا  يَدْعُونَ  مَعَ  ٱللَّـهِ  إِلَٰهًا  ءَاخَرَ  وَلَا  يَقْتُلُونَ  ٱلنَّفْسَ  ٱلَّتِى  حَرَّمَ  ٱللَّـهُ  إِلَّا  بِٱلْحَقِّ  وَلَا  يَزْنُونَ  وَمَن  يَفْعَلْ  ذَٰلِكَ  يَلْقَ  أَثَامًا wa‑lladhīna yadʿūna maʿa allāhi ilāhan ākhara wa‑lā yaqtulūna l‑nafsa allatī ḥarrama allāhu illā bil‑ḥaqqi wa‑lā yaznūna wa‑man yafʿal dhālika yalqa athāman
Those who invoke not, with Allah, any other god, nor slay such life as Allah has made sacred except for just cause, nor commit fornication; - and any that does this (not only) meets punishment.

Surah 27 al-Naml (The Ant)
(27:91)

إِنَّمَآ  أُمِرْتُ  أَنْ  أَعْبُدَ  رَبَّ  هَٰذِهِ  ٱلْبَلْدَةِ  ٱلَّذِى  حَرَّمَهَا  وَلَهُۥ  كُلُّ  شَىْءٍ  وَأُمِرْتُ  أَنْ  أَكُونَ  مِنَ  ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ innamā umirtu an aʿbuda rabba hādhihi l‑baldati alladhī ḥarramahā wa‑lahu kullu shayʾin wa‑umirtu an akūna mina l‑muslimīna
