(4:34) | ٱلرِّجَالُ قَوَّٰمُونَ عَلَى ٱلنِّسَآءِ بِمَا فَضَّلَ ٱللَّـهُ بَعْضَهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ وَبِمَآ أَنفَقُوا۟ مِنْ أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ فَٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتُ قَٰنِتَٰتٌ حَٰفِظَٰتٌ لِّلْغَيْبِ بِمَا حَفِظَ ٱللَّـهُ وَٱلَّٰتِى تَخَافُونَ نُشُوزَهُنَّ فَعِظُوهُنَّ وَٱهْجُرُوهُنَّ فِى ٱلْمَضَاجِعِ وَٱضْرِبُوهُنَّ فَإِنْ أَطَعْنَكُمْ فَلَا تَبْغُوا۟ عَلَيْهِنَّ سَبِيلًا إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ كَانَ عَلِيًّا كَبِيرًا | l‑rijālu qawwāmūna ʿalā l‑nisāʾi bi‑mā faḍḍala allāhu baʿḍahum ʿalā baʿḍin wa‑bimā anfaqū min amwālihim fa‑l‑ṣāliḥātu qānitātun ḥāfiẓātun lil‑ghaybi bi‑mā ḥafiẓa allāhu wallātī takhāfūna nushūzahunna faʿiẓūhunna wa‑ahjurūhunna fī l‑maḍājiʿi wa‑aḍribūhunna fa‑in aṭaʿnakum fa‑lā tabghū ʿalayhinna sabīlan inna allāha kāna ʿaliyyan kabīran | Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah
has given the one more (strength) than the other, and because they support
them from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient,
and guard in (the husband's) absence what Allah would have them guard. As to
those women on whose part ye fear disloyalty and ill-conduct, admonish them
(first), (Next), refuse to share their beds, (And last) beat them
(lightly); but if they return to obedience, seek not against them Means (of
annoyance): For Allah is Most High, great (above you all).

(5:89) | لَا يُؤَاخِذُكُمُ ٱللَّـهُ بِٱللَّغْوِ فِىٓ أَيْمَٰنِكُمْ وَلَٰكِن يُؤَاخِذُكُم بِمَا عَقَّدتُّمُ ٱلْأَيْمَٰنَ فَكَفَّٰرَتُهُۥٓ إِطْعَامُ عَشَرَةِ مَسَٰكِينَ مِنْ أَوْسَطِ مَا تُطْعِمُونَ أَهْلِيكُمْ أَوْ كِسْوَتُهُمْ أَوْ تَحْرِيرُ رَقَبَةٍ فَمَن لَّمْ يَجِدْ فَصِيَامُ ثَلَٰثَةِ أَيَّامٍ ذَٰلِكَ كَفَّٰرَةُ أَيْمَٰنِكُمْ إِذَا حَلَفْتُمْ وَٱحْفَظُوٓا۟ أَيْمَٰنَكُمْ كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّـهُ لَكُمْ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ | lā yuʾākhidhukumu allāhu bil‑laghwi fī aymānikum wa‑lākin yuākhidhukum bi‑mā ʿaqqadttumu l‑aymāna fakaffāratuhu iṭʿāmu ʿasharati masākīna min awsaṭi mā tuṭʿimūna ahlīkum aw kiswatuhum aw taḥrīru raqabatin fa‑man lam yajid fa‑ṣiyāmu thalāthati ayyāmin dhālika kaffāratu aymānikum idhā ḥalaftum waḥfaẓū aymānakum ka‑dhālika yubayyinu allāhu la‑kum āyātihi la‑ʿallakum tashkurūna | Allah will not call you to account for what is futile in your
oaths, but He will call you to account for your deliberate oaths: for
expiation, feed ten indigent persons, on a scale of the average for the
food of your families; or clothe them; or give a slave his freedom. If that
is beyond your means, fast for three days. That is the expiation for the
oaths ye have sworn. But keep to your oaths. Thus doth Allah make clear to
you His signs, that ye may be grateful.
Sura al-Māʾidah 5:89 لَا يُؤَاخِذُكُمُ ٱللَّـهُ بِٱللَّغْوِ فِىٓ أَيْمَٰنِكُمْ وَلَٰكِن يُؤَاخِذُكُم بِمَا عَقَّدتُّمُ ٱلْأَيْمَٰنَ فَكَفَّٰرَتُهُۥٓ إِطْعَامُ عَشَرَةِ مَسَٰكِينَ مِنْ أَوْسَطِ مَا تُطْعِمُونَ أَهْلِيكُمْ أَوْ كِسْوَتُهُمْ أَوْ تَحْرِيرُ رَقَبَةٍ فَمَن لَّمْ يَجِدْ فَصِيَامُ ثَلَٰثَةِ أَيَّامٍ ذَٰلِكَ كَفَّٰرَةُ أَيْمَٰنِكُمْ إِذَا حَلَفْتُمْ وَٱحْفَظُوٓا۟ أَيْمَٰنَكُمْ كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّـهُ لَكُمْ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ lā yuʾākhidhukumu allāhu bil-laghwi fī aymānikum wa-lākin yuākhidhukum bi-mā ʿaqqadttumu l-aymāna fakaffāratuhu iṭʿāmu ʿasharati masākīna min awsaṭi mā tuṭʿimūna ahlīkum aw kiswatuhum aw taḥrīru raqabatin fa-man lam yajid fa-ṣiyāmu thalāthati ayyāmin dhālika kaffāratu aymānikum idhā ḥalaftum waḥfaẓū aymānakum ka-dhālika yubayyinu allāhu la-kum āyātihi la-ʿallakum tashkurūna Allah will not call you to account for what is futile in your oaths, but He will call you to account for your deliberate oaths: for expiation, feed ten indigent persons, on a scale of the average for the food of your families; or clothe them; or give a slave his freedom. (12:65) | وَلَمَّا فَتَحُوا۟ مَتَٰعَهُمْ وَجَدُوا۟ بِضَٰعَتَهُمْ رُدَّتْ إِلَيْهِمْ قَالُوا۟ يَٰٓأَبَانَا مَا نَبْغِى هَٰذِهِۦ بِضَٰعَتُنَا رُدَّتْ إِلَيْنَا وَنَمِيرُ أَهْلَنَا وَنَحْفَظُ أَخَانَا وَنَزْدَادُ كَيْلَ بَعِيرٍ ذَٰلِكَ كَيْلٌ يَسِيرٌ | wa‑lammā fataḥū matāʿahum wajadū biḍāʿatahum ruddat ilayhim qālū yā‑abānā mā nabghī hādhihi biḍāʿatunā ruddat ilaynā wa‑namīru ahlanā wa‑naḥfaẓu akhānā wa‑nazdādu kayla baʿīrin dhālika kaylun yasīrun | Then when they opened their baggage, they found their
stock-in-trade had been returned to them. They said: "O our father! What
(more) can we desire? this our stock-in-trade has been returned to us: so
we shall get (more) food for our family; We shall take care of our brother;
and add (at the same time) a full camel's load (of grain to our
provisions). This is but a small quantity.
Sura Yūsuf 12:65 وَلَمَّا فَتَحُوا۟ مَتَٰعَهُمْ وَجَدُوا۟ بِضَٰعَتَهُمْ رُدَّتْ إِلَيْهِمْ قَالُوا۟ يَٰٓأَبَانَا مَا نَبْغِى هَٰذِهِۦ بِضَٰعَتُنَا رُدَّتْ إِلَيْنَا وَنَمِيرُ أَهْلَنَا وَنَحْفَظُ أَخَانَا وَنَزْدَادُ كَيْلَ بَعِيرٍ ذَٰلِكَ كَيْلٌ يَسِيرٌ wa-lammā fataḥū matāʿahum wajadū biḍāʿatahum ruddat ilayhim qālū yā-abānā mā nabghī hādhihi biḍāʿatunā ruddat ilaynā wa-namīru ahlanā wa-naḥfaẓu akhānā wa-nazdādu kayla baʿīrin dhālika kaylun yasīrun Then when they opened their baggage, they found their stock-in-trade had been returned to them. They said: "O our father! What (more) can we desire? this our stock-in-trade has been returned to us: so we shall get (more) food for our family; We shall take care of our brother; and add (at the same time) a full camel's load (of grain to our provisions). This is but a small quantity. |
(13:11) | لَهُۥ مُعَقِّبَٰتٌ مِّنۢ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِۦ يَحْفَظُونَهُۥ مِنْ أَمْرِ ٱللَّـهِ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ لَا يُغَيِّرُ مَا بِقَوْمٍ حَتَّىٰ يُغَيِّرُوا۟ مَا بِأَنفُسِهِمْ وَإِذَآ أَرَادَ ٱللَّـهُ بِقَوْمٍ سُوٓءًا فَلَا مَرَدَّ لَهُۥ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن دُونِهِۦ مِن وَالٍ | lahu muʿaqqibātun min bayni yadayhi wa‑min khalfihi yaḥfaẓūnahu min amri allāhi inna allāha lā yughayyiru mā biqawmin ḥattā yughayyirū mā bi‑anfusihim wa‑idhā arāda allāhu biqawmin sūʾan fa‑lā maradda lahu wa‑mā lahum min dūnihi min wālin | For each (such person) there are (angels) in succession,
before and behind him: They guard him by command of Allah. Allah
does not change a people's lot unless they change what is in their
hearts. But when (once) Allah willeth a people's punishment, there
can be no turning it back, nor will they find, besides Him, any to
protect.
Sura al-Raʿd 13:11 لَهُۥ مُعَقِّبَٰتٌ مِّنۢ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِۦ يَحْفَظُونَهُۥ مِنْ أَمْرِ ٱللَّـهِ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ لَا يُغَيِّرُ مَا بِقَوْمٍ حَتَّىٰ يُغَيِّرُوا۟ مَا بِأَنفُسِهِمْ وَإِذَآ أَرَادَ ٱللَّـهُ بِقَوْمٍ سُوٓءًا فَلَا مَرَدَّ لَهُۥ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن دُونِهِۦ مِن وَالٍ lahu muʿaqqibātun min bayni yadayhi wa-min khalfihi yaḥfaẓūnahu min amri allāhi inna allāha lā yughayyiru mā biqawmin ḥattā yughayyirū mā bi-anfusihim wa-idhā arāda allāhu biqawmin sūʾan fa-lā maradda lahu wa-mā lahum min dūnihi min wālin For each (such person) there are (angels) in succession, before and behind him: They guard him by command of Allah. (15:17) | وَحَفِظْنَٰهَا مِن كُلِّ شَيْطَٰنٍ رَّجِيمٍ | wa‑ḥafiẓnāhā min kulli shayṭānin rajīmin | And (moreover) We have guarded them from every cursed devil:
Sura al-Ḥijr 15:17 وَحَفِظْنَٰهَا مِن كُلِّ شَيْطَٰنٍ رَّجِيمٍ wa-ḥafiẓnāhā min kulli shayṭānin rajīmin And (moreover) We have guarded them from every cursed devil: |
(24:30) | قُل لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَغُضُّوا۟ مِنْ أَبْصَٰرِهِمْ وَيَحْفَظُوا۟ فُرُوجَهُمْ ذَٰلِكَ أَزْكَىٰ لَهُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ خَبِيرٌۢ بِمَا يَصْنَعُونَ | qul lil‑muʾminīna yaghuḍḍū min abṣārihim wa‑yaḥfaẓū furūjahum dhālika azka lahum inna allāha khabīrun bi‑mā yaṣnaʿūna | Say to the believing men that they should lower their gaze and
guard their modesty: that will make for greater purity for them: And Allah is
well acquainted with all that they do.
Sura al-Nūr 24:30 قُل لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَغُضُّوا۟ مِنْ أَبْصَٰرِهِمْ وَيَحْفَظُوا۟ فُرُوجَهُمْ ذَٰلِكَ أَزْكَىٰ لَهُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ خَبِيرٌۢ بِمَا يَصْنَعُونَ qul lil-muʾminīna yaghuḍḍū min abṣārihim wa-yaḥfaẓū furūjahum dhālika azka lahum inna allāha khabīrun bi-mā yaṣnaʿūna Say to the believing men that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty: that will make for greater purity for them: And Allah is well acquainted with all that they do. |
(24:31) | وَقُل لِّلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ يَغْضُضْنَ مِنْ أَبْصَٰرِهِنَّ وَيَحْفَظْنَ فُرُوجَهُنَّ وَلَا يُبْدِينَ زِينَتَهُنَّ إِلَّا مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا وَلْيَضْرِبْنَ بِخُمُرِهِنَّ عَلَىٰ جُيُوبِهِنَّ وَلَا يُبْدِينَ زِينَتَهُنَّ إِلَّا لِبُعُولَتِهِنَّ أَوْ ءَابَآئِهِنَّ أَوْ ءَابَآءِ بُعُولَتِهِنَّ أَوْ أَبْنَآئِهِنَّ أَوْ أَبْنَآءِ بُعُولَتِهِنَّ أَوْ إِخْوَٰنِهِنَّ أَوْ بَنِىٓ إِخْوَٰنِهِنَّ أَوْ بَنِىٓ أَخَوَٰتِهِنَّ أَوْ نِسَآئِهِنَّ أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَٰنُهُنَّ أَوِ ٱلتَّٰبِعِينَ غَيْرِ أُو۟لِى ٱلْإِرْبَةِ مِنَ ٱلرِّجَالِ أَوِ ٱلطِّفْلِ ٱلَّذِينَ لَمْ يَظْهَرُوا۟ عَلَىٰ عَوْرَٰتِ ٱلنِّسَآءِ وَلَا يَضْرِبْنَ بِأَرْجُلِهِنَّ لِيُعْلَمَ مَا يُخْفِينَ مِن زِينَتِهِنَّ وَتُوبُوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱللَّـهِ جَمِيعًا أَيُّهَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ | wa‑qul lil‑mumināti yaghḍuḍna min abṣārihinna wa‑yaḥfaẓna furūjahunna wa‑lā yubdīna zīnatahunna illā mā ẓahara minhā wa‑l‑yaḍribna bikhumurihinna ʿalā juyūbihinna wa‑lā yubdīna zīnatahunna illā li‑buʿūlatihinna aw ābāʾihinna aw ābāʾi buʿūlatihinna aw abnāʾihinna aw abnāʾi buʿūlatihinna aw ikhwānihinna aw banī ikhwānihinna aw banī akhawātihinna aw nisāʾihinna aw mā malakat aymānuhunna awi l‑tābiʿīna ghayri ūlī l‑irbati mina l‑rijāli awi l‑ṭifli lladhīna lam yaẓharū ʿalā ʿawrāti l‑nisāʾi wa‑lā yaḍribna biarjulihinna līuʿlama mā yukhfīna min zīnatihinna wa‑tūbū ilā allāhi jamīʿan ayyuha l‑muʾminūna la‑ʿallakum tufliḥūna | And say to the believing women that they should lower their
gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and
ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should
draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to
their husbands, their fathers, their husband's fathers, their sons, their
husbands' sons, their brothers or their brothers' sons, or their sisters'
sons, or their women, or the slaves whom their right hands possess, or male
servants free of physical needs, or small children who have no sense of the
shame of sex; and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw
attention to their hidden ornaments. And O ye Believers! turn ye all
together towards Allah, that ye may attain Bliss.
Sura al-Nūr 24:31 وَقُل لِّلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ يَغْضُضْنَ مِنْ أَبْصَٰرِهِنَّ وَيَحْفَظْنَ فُرُوجَهُنَّ وَلَا يُبْدِينَ زِينَتَهُنَّ إِلَّا مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا وَلْيَضْرِبْنَ بِخُمُرِهِنَّ عَلَىٰ جُيُوبِهِنَّ وَلَا يُبْدِينَ زِينَتَهُنَّ إِلَّا لِبُعُولَتِهِنَّ أَوْ ءَابَآئِهِنَّ أَوْ ءَابَآءِ بُعُولَتِهِنَّ أَوْ أَبْنَآئِهِنَّ أَوْ أَبْنَآءِ بُعُولَتِهِنَّ أَوْ إِخْوَٰنِهِنَّ أَوْ بَنِىٓ إِخْوَٰنِهِنَّ أَوْ بَنِىٓ أَخَوَٰتِهِنَّ أَوْ نِسَآئِهِنَّ أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَٰنُهُنَّ أَوِ ٱلتَّٰبِعِينَ غَيْرِ أُو۟لِى ٱلْإِرْبَةِ مِنَ ٱلرِّجَالِ أَوِ ٱلطِّفْلِ ٱلَّذِينَ لَمْ يَظْهَرُوا۟ عَلَىٰ عَوْرَٰتِ ٱلنِّسَآءِ وَلَا يَضْرِبْنَ بِأَرْجُلِهِنَّ لِيُعْلَمَ مَا يُخْفِينَ مِن زِينَتِهِنَّ وَتُوبُوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱللَّـهِ جَمِيعًا أَيُّهَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ wa-qul lil-mumināti yaghḍuḍna min abṣārihinna wa-yaḥfaẓna furūjahunna wa-lā yubdīna zīnatahunna illā mā ẓahara minhā wa-l-yaḍribna bikhumurihinna ʿalā juyūbihinna wa-lā yubdīna zīnatahunna illā li-buʿūlatihinna aw ābāʾihinna aw ābāʾi buʿūlatihinna aw abnāʾihinna aw abnāʾi buʿūlatihinna aw ikhwānihinna aw banī ikhwānihinna aw banī akhawātihinna aw nisāʾihinna aw mā malakat aymānuhunna awi l-tābiʿīna ghayri ūlī l-irbati mina l-rijāli awi l-ṭifli lladhīna lam yaẓharū ʿalā ʿawrāti l-nisāʾi wa-lā yaḍribna biarjulihinna līuʿlama mā yukhfīna min zīnatihinna wa-tūbū ilā allāhi jamīʿan ayyuha l-muʾminūna la-ʿallakum tufliḥūna And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husband's fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers or their brothers' sons, or their sisters' sons, or their women, or the slaves whom their right hands possess, or male servants free of physical needs, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex; and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments.
