Surah 2 al-Baqara (The Cow)
RefArabic    TransliterationTranslation
(2:7)

Surah 6 al-Anʿām (The Cattle)

قُلْ  أَرَءَيْتُمْ  إِنْ  أَخَذَ  ٱللَّـهُ  سَمْعَكُمْ  وَأَبْصَٰرَكُمْ  وَخَتَمَ  عَلَىٰ  قُلُوبِكُم  مَّنْ  إِلَٰهٌ  غَيْرُ  ٱللَّـهِ  يَأْتِيكُم  بِهِ  ٱنظُرْ  كَيْفَ  نُصَرِّفُ  ٱلْأَيَٰتِ  ثُمَّ  هُمْ  يَصْدِفُونَ qul a‑raʾaytum in akhadha allāhu samʿakum wa‑abṣārakum wa‑khatama ʿalā qulūbikum man ilāhun ghayru allāhi yaʾtīkum bihi inẓur kayfa nuṣarrifu l‑ayāti thumma hum yaṣdifūna
Say: "Think ye, if Allah took away your hearing and your sight, and sealed up your hearts, who - a god other than Allah - could restore them to you?" See how We explain the signs by various (symbols); yet they turn aside.

Surah 42 al-Shūrā (The Counsel)
(42:24)

أَمْ  يَقُولُونَ  ٱفْتَرَىٰ  عَلَى  ٱللَّـهِ  كَذِبًا  فَإِن  يَشَإِ  ٱللَّـهُ  يَخْتِمْ  عَلَىٰ  قَلْبِكَ  وَيَمْحُ  ٱللَّـهُ  ٱلْبَٰطِلَ  وَيُحِقُّ  ٱلْحَقَّ  بِكَلِمَٰتِهِۦٓ  إِنَّهُۥ  عَلِيمٌۢ  بِذَاتِ  ٱلصُّدُورِ am yaqūlūna iftarā ʿalā allāhi kadhiban fa‑in yashaʾi allāhu yakhtim ʿalā qalbika wa‑yamḥu allāhu l‑bāṭila wa‑yuḥiqqu l‑ḥaqqa bi‑kalimātihi innahu ʿalīmun bi‑dhāti l‑ṣudūri
What! Do they say, "He has forged a falsehood against Allah"? But if Allah willed, He could seal up thy heart. And Allah blots out Vanity, and proves the Truth by His Words. For He knows well the secrets of all hearts.

Surah 45 al-Jāthiyah (The Kneeling)
(45:23)

أَفَرَءَيْتَ  مَنِ  ٱتَّخَذَ  إِلَٰهَهُۥ  هَوَىٰهُ  وَأَضَلَّهُ  ٱللَّـهُ  عَلَىٰ  عِلْمٍ  وَخَتَمَ  عَلَىٰ  سَمْعِهِۦ  وَقَلْبِهِۦ  وَجَعَلَ  عَلَىٰ  بَصَرِهِۦ  غِشَٰوَةً  فَمَن  يَهْدِيهِ  مِنۢ  بَعْدِ  ٱللَّـهِ  أَفَلَا  تَذَكَّرُونَ a‑fa‑raʾayta mani ittakhadha ilāhahu hawahu wa‑aḍallahu allāhu ʿalā ʿilmin wa‑khatama ʿalā samʿihi wa‑qalbihi wa‑jaʿala ʿalā baṣarihi ghishāwatan fa‑man yahdīhi min baʿdi allāhi a‑fa‑lā tadhakkarūna
Then seest thou such a one as takes as his god his own vain desire? Allah has, knowing (him as such), left him astray, and sealed his hearing and his heart (and understanding), and put a cover on his sight. Who, then, will guide him after Allah (has withdrawn Guidance)? Will ye not then receive admonition?
