Surah 2 al-Baqara (The Cow)
RefArabic    TransliterationTranslation
(2:22)

ٱلَّذِى  جَعَلَ  لَكُمُ  ٱلْأَرْضَ  فِرَٰشًا  وَٱلسَّمَآءَ  بِنَآءً  وَأَنزَلَ  مِنَ  ٱلسَّمَآءِ  مَآءً  فَأَخْرَجَ  بِهِۦ  مِنَ  ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ  رِزْقًا  لَّكُمْ  فَلَا  تَجْعَلُوا۟  لِلَّـهِ  أَندَادًا  وَأَنتُمْ  تَعْلَمُونَ alladhī jaʿala lakumu l‑arḍa firāshan wa‑l‑samāʾa bināʾan wa‑anzala mina l‑samāʾi māʾan fa‑akhraja bihi mina l‑thamarāti rizqan la‑kum fa‑lā tajʿalū lillāhi andādan wa‑antum taʿlamūna
Who has made the earth your couch, and the heavens your canopy; and sent down rain from the heavens; and brought forth therewith Fruits for your sustenance; then set not up rivals unto Allah when ye know (the truth).
(2:36)

Then did Satan make them slip from the (garden), and get them out of the state (of felicity) in which they had been. We said: "Get ye down, all (ye people), with enmity between yourselves. On earth will be your dwelling-place and your means of livelihood - for a time."
(2:61)

And remember ye said: "O Moses! we cannot endure one kind of food (always); so beseech thy Lord for us to produce for us of what the earth groweth, -its pot-herbs, and cucumbers, Its garlic, lentils, and onions." He said: "Will ye exchange the better for the worse? Go ye down to any town, and ye shall find what ye want!" They were covered with humiliation and misery; they drew on themselves the wrath of Allah. This because they went on rejecting the Signs of Allah and slaying His Messengers without just cause. This because they rebelled and went on transgressing.
(2:84)

And remember We took your covenant (to this effect): Shed no blood amongst you, nor turn out your own people from your homes: and this ye solemnly ratified, and to this ye can bear witness.
(2:85)

After this it is ye, the same people, who slay among yourselves, and banish a party of you from their homes; assist (Their enemies) against them, in guilt and rancour; and if they come to you as captives, ye ransom them, though it was not lawful for you to banish them. Then is it only a part of the Book that ye believe in, and do ye reject the rest? but what is the reward for those among you who behave like this but disgrace in this life?- and on the Day of Judgment they shall be consigned to the most grievous penalty. For Allah is not unmindful of what ye do.
(2:191)

وَٱقْتُلُوهُمْ  حَيْثُ  ثَقِفْتُمُوهُمْ  وَأَخْرِجُوهُم  مِّنْ  حَيْثُ  أَخْرَجُوكُمْ  وَٱلْفِتْنَةُ  أَشَدُّ  مِنَ  ٱلْقَتْلِ  وَلَا  تُقَٰتِلُوهُمْ  عِندَ  ٱلْمَسْجِدِ  ٱلْحَرَامِ  حَتَّىٰ  يُقَٰتِلُوكُمْ  فِيهِ  فَإِن  قَٰتَلُوكُمْ  فَٱقْتُلُوهُمْ  كَذَٰلِكَ  جَزَآءُ  ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ wa‑aqtulūhum ḥaythu thaqiftumūhum wa‑akhrijūhum min ḥaythu akhrajūkum wa‑l‑fitnatu ashaddu mina l‑qatli wa‑lā tuqātilūhum ʿinda l‑masjidi l‑ḥarāmi ḥattā yuqātilūkum fīhi fa‑in qātalūkum faqtulūhum ka‑dhālika jazāʾu l‑kāfirīna
And slay them wherever ye catch them, and turn them out from where they have Turned you out; for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter; but fight them not at the Sacred Mosque, unless they (first) fight you there; but if they fight you, slay them. Such is the reward of those who suppress faith.

Hast thou not Turned thy vision to the Chiefs of the Children of Israel after (the time of) Moses? they said to a prophet (That was) among them: "Appoint for us a king, that we May fight in the cause of Allah." He said: "Is it not possible, if ye were commanded to fight, that that ye will not fight?" They said: "How could we refuse to fight in the cause of Allah, seeing that we were turned out of our homes and our families?" but when they were commanded to fight, they turned back, except a small band among them. But Allah Has full knowledge of those who do wrong.

Allah is the Protector of those who have faith: from the depths of darkness He will lead them forth into light. Of those who reject faith the patrons are the evil ones: from light they will lead them forth into the depths of darkness. They will be companions of the fire, to dwell therein (For ever).

O ye who believe! Give of the good things which ye have (honourably) earned, and of the fruits of the earth which We have produced for you, and do not even aim at getting anything which is bad, in order that out of it ye may give away something, when ye yourselves would not receive it except with closed eyes. And know that Allah is Free of all wants, and worthy of all praise.

Surah 3 Āl-ʿImrān (The Family of Imran)
(3:27)

Ye are the best of peoples, evolved for mankind, enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong, and believing in Allah. If only the People of the Book had faith, it were best for them: among them are some who have faith, but most of them are perverted transgressors.

Surah 5 al-Māʾidah (The Table Spread)

Then will Allah say: "O Jesus the son of Mary! Recount My favour to thee and to thy mother. Behold! I strengthened thee with the holy spirit, so that thou didst speak to the people in childhood and in maturity. Behold! I taught thee the Book and Wisdom, the Law and the Gospel and behold! thou makest out of clay, as it were, the figure of a bird, by My leave, and thou breathest into it and it becometh a bird by My leave, and thou healest those born blind, and the lepers, by My leave. And behold! thou bringest forth the dead by My leave. And behold! I did restrain the Children of Israel from (violence to) thee when thou didst show them the clear Signs, and the unbelievers among them said: 'This is nothing but evident magic.'

Who can be more wicked than one who inventeth a lie against Allah, or saith, "I have received inspiration," when he hath received none, or (again) who saith, "I can reveal the like of what Allah hath revealed"? If thou couldst but see how the wicked (do fare) in the flood of confusion at death! - the angels stretch forth their hands, (saying),"Yield up your souls: this day shall ye receive your reward,- a penalty of shame, for that ye used to tell lies against Allah, and scornfully to reject of His signs!"

It is Allah Who causeth the seed-grain and the date-stone to split and sprout. He causeth the living to issue from the dead, and He is the one to cause the dead to issue from the living. That is Allah: then how are ye deluded away from the truth?

It is He Who sendeth down rain from the skies: with it We produce vegetation of all kinds: from some We produce green (crops), out of which We produce grain, heaped up (at harvest); out of the date-palm and its sheaths (or spathes) (come) clusters of dates hanging low and near: and (then there are) gardens of grapes, and olives, and pomegranates, each similar (in kind) yet different (in variety): when they begin to bear fruit, feast your eyes with the fruit and the ripeness thereof. Behold! in these things there are signs for people who believe.

Those who give partners (to Allah) will say: "If Allah had wished, we should not have given partners to Him nor would our fathers; nor should we have had any taboos." So did their ancestors argue falsely, until they tasted of Our wrath. Say: "Have ye any (certain) knowledge? If so, produce it before us. Ye follow nothing but conjecture: ye do nothing but lie."

Surah 7 al-Aʿrāf (The Heights)
(7:25)

O ye Children of Adam! Let not Satan seduce you, in the same manner as He got your parents out of the Garden, stripping them of their raiment, to expose their shame: for he and his tribe watch you from a position where ye cannot see them: We made the evil ones friends (only) to those without faith.

Say: Who hath forbidden the beautiful (gifts) of Allah, which He hath produced for His servants, and the things, clean and pure, (which He hath provided) for sustenance? Say: They are, in the life of this world, for those who believe, (and) purely for them on the Day of Judgment. Thus do We explain the signs in detail for those who understand.

It is He Who sendeth the winds like heralds of glad tidings, going before His mercy: when they have carried the heavy-laden clouds, We drive them to a land that is dead, make rain to descend thereon, and produce every kind of harvest therewith: thus shall We raise up the dead: perchance ye may remember.
(7:82)

وَمَا  كَانَ  جَوَابَ  قَوْمِهِۦٓ  إِلَّآ  أَن  قَالُوٓا۟  أَخْرِجُوهُم  مِّن  قَرْيَتِكُمْ  إِنَّهُمْ  أُنَاسٌ  يَتَطَهَّرُونَ wa‑mā kāna jawāba qawmihi illā an qālū akhrijūhum min qaryatikum innahum unāsun yataṭahharūna

The leaders, the arrogant party among his people, said: "O Shu'aib! we shall certainly drive thee out of our city - (thee) and those who believe with thee; or else ye (thou and they) shall have to return to our ways and religion." He said: "What! even though we do detest (them)?

"His plan is to get you out of your land: then what is it ye counsel?"
(7:123)

Said Pharaoh: "Believe ye in Him before I give you permission? Surely this is a trick which ye have planned in the city to drive out its people: but soon shall ye know (the consequences).

Surah 8 al-Anfāl (The Spoils of War)
(8:5)

Just as thy Lord ordered thee out of thy house in truth, even though a party among the Believers disliked it,
(8:30)

Remember how the Unbelievers plotted against thee, to keep thee in bonds, or slay thee, or get thee out (of thy home). They plot and plan, and Allah too plans; but the best of planners is Allah.

Surah 9 al-Tawbah (Repentance)
(9:40)

If ye help not (your leader), (it is no matter): for Allah did indeed help him, when the Unbelievers drove him out: he had no more than one companion; they two were in the cave, and he said to his companion, "Have no fear, for Allah is with us": then Allah sent down His peace upon him, and strengthened him with forces which ye saw not, and humbled to the depths the word of the Unbelievers. But the word of Allah is exalted to the heights: for Allah is Exalted in might, Wise.

Surah 10 Yūnus (Jonah)
(10:31)

قُلْ  مَن  يَرْزُقُكُم  مِّنَ  ٱلسَّمَآءِ  وَٱلْأَرْضِ  أَمَّن  يَمْلِكُ  ٱلسَّمْعَ  وَٱلْأَبْصَٰرَ  وَمَن  يُخْرِجُ  ٱلْحَىَّ  مِنَ  ٱلْمَيِّتِ  وَيُخْرِجُ  ٱلْمَيِّتَ  مِنَ  ٱلْحَىِّ  وَمَن  يُدَبِّرُ  ٱلْأَمْرَ  فَسَيَقُولُونَ  ٱللَّـهُ  فَقُلْ  أَفَلَا  تَتَّقُونَ qul man yarzuqukum mina l‑samāʾi wa‑l‑arḍi a‑man yamliku l‑samʿa wa‑l‑abṣāra wa‑man yukhriju l‑ḥayya mina l‑mayyiti wa‑yukhriju l‑mayyita mina l‑ḥayyi wa‑man yudabbiru l‑amra fa‑sa‑yaqūlūna allāhu fa‑qul a‑fa‑lā tattaqūna
Say: "Who is it that sustains you (in life) from the sky and from the earth? or who is it that has power over hearing and sight? And who is it that brings out the living from the dead and the dead from the living? and who is it that rules and regulates all affairs?" They will soon say, "Allah". Say, "will ye not then show piety (to Him)?"

Surah 12 Yūsuf (Joseph)
(12:100)

And he raised his parents high on the throne (of dignity), and they fell down in prostration, (all) before him. He said: "O my father! this is the fulfilment of my vision of old! Allah hath made it come true! He was indeed good to me when He took me out of prison and brought you (all here) out of the desert, (even) after Satan had sown enmity between me and my brothers. ٱلَّذِى  جَعَلَ  لَكُمُ  ٱلْأَرْضَ  مَهْدًا  وَسَلَكَ  لَكُمْ  فِيهَا  سُبُلًا  وَأَنزَلَ  مِنَ  ٱلسَّمَآءِ  مَآءً  فَأَخْرَجْنَا  بِهِۦٓ  أَزْوَٰجًا  مِّن  نَّبَاتٍ  شَتَّىٰ alladhī jaʿala lakumu l‑arḍa mahdan wa‑salaka la‑kum fīhā subulan wa‑anzala mina l‑samāʾi māʾan fa‑akhrajnā bihi azwājan min nnabātin shatta
"He Who has, made for you the earth like a carpet spread out; has enabled you to go about therein by roads (and channels); and has sent down water from the sky." With it have We produced diverse pairs of plants each separate from the others.
(20:55)

From the (earth) did We create you, and into it shall We return you, and from it shall We bring you out once again.
(20:57)

قَالَ  أَجِئْتَنَا  لِتُخْرِجَنَا  مِنْ  أَرْضِنَا  بِسِحْرِكَ  يَٰمُوسَىٰ qalā a‑jiʾtanā li‑tukhrijanā min arḍinā bi‑siḥrika yā‑mūsā
He said: "Hast thou come to drive us out of our land with thy magic, O Moses?
(20:63)

قَالُوٓا۟  إِنْ  هَٰذَٰنِ  لَسَٰحِرَٰنِ  يُرِيدَانِ  أَن  يُخْرِجَاكُم  مِّنْ  أَرْضِكُم  بِسِحْرِهِمَا  وَيَذْهَبَا  بِطَرِيقَتِكُمُ  ٱلْمُثْلَىٰ qālū in hādhāni la‑sāḥirāni yurīdāni an yukhrijākum min arḍikum bi‑siḥrihimā wa‑yadhhabā bi‑ṭarīqatikumu l‑muthlā
They said: "These two are certainly (expert) magicians: their object is to drive you out from your land with their magic, and to do away with your most cherished institutions.
(20:88)

"Then he brought out (of the fire) before the (people) the image of a calf: It seemed to low: so they said: This is your god, and the god of Moses, but (Moses) has forgotten!"
(20:117)

Then We said: "O Adam! verily, this is an enemy to thee and thy wife: so let him not get you both out of the Garden, so that thou art landed in misery.

Surah 22 al-Ḥajj (The Pilgrimage)
(22:5)

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا  ٱلنَّاسُ  إِن  كُنتُمْ  فِى  رَيْبٍ  مِّنَ  ٱلْبَعْثِ  فَإِنَّا  خَلَقْنَٰكُم  مِّن  تُرَابٍ  ثُمَّ  مِن  نُّطْفَةٍ  ثُمَّ  مِنْ  عَلَقَةٍ  ثُمَّ  مِن  مُّضْغَةٍ  مُّخَلَّقَةٍ  وَغَيْرِ  مُخَلَّقَةٍ  لِّنُبَيِّنَ  لَكُمْ  وَنُقِرُّ  فِى  ٱلْأَرْحَامِ  مَا  نَشَآءُ  إِلَىٰٓ  أَجَلٍ  مُّسَمًّى  ثُمَّ  نُخْرِجُكُمْ  طِفْلًا  ثُمَّ  لِتَبْلُغُوٓا۟  أَشُدَّكُمْ  وَمِنكُم  مَّن  يُتَوَفَّىٰ  وَمِنكُم  مَّن  يُرَدُّ  إِلَىٰٓ  أَرْذَلِ  ٱلْعُمُرِ  لِكَيْلَا  يَعْلَمَ  مِنۢ  بَعْدِ  عِلْمٍ  شَيْـًٔا  وَتَرَى  ٱلْأَرْضَ  هَامِدَةً  فَإِذَآ  أَنزَلْنَا  عَلَيْهَا  ٱلْمَآءَ  ٱهْتَزَّتْ  وَرَبَتْ  وَأَنۢبَتَتْ  مِن  كُلِّ  زَوْجٍۭ  بَهِيجٍ yā‑ayyuhā l‑nāsu in kuntum raybin mina l‑baʿthi fa‑innā khalaqnākum min turābin thumma min nuṭfatin thumma min ʿalaqatin thumma min muḍghatin mukhallaqatin wa‑ghayri mukhallaqatin li‑nubayyina la‑kum wa‑nuqirru l‑arḥāmi nashāʾu ila ajalin musamman thumma nukhrijukum ṭiflan thumma li‑tablughū ashuddakum wa‑minkum man yutawaffā wa‑minkum man yuraddu ila ardhali l‑ʿumuri li‑kaylā yaʿlama min baʿdi ʿilmin shayʾan wa‑tara l‑arḍa hāmidatan fa‑idhā anzalnā ʿalayhā l‑māa ihtazzat wa‑rabat wa‑anbatat min kulli zawjin bahījin
O mankind! if ye have a doubt about the Resurrection, (consider) that We created you out of dust, then out of sperm, then out of a leech-like clot, then out of a morsel of flesh, partly formed and partly unformed, in order that We may manifest (our power) to you; and We cause whom We will to rest in the wombs for an appointed term, then do We bring you out as babes, then (foster you) that ye may reach your age of full strength; and some of you are called to die, and some are sent back to the feeblest old age, so that they know nothing after having known (much), and (further), thou seest the earth barren and lifeless, but when We pour down rain on it, it is stirred (to life), it swells, and it puts forth every kind of beautiful growth (in pairs).
(22:40)

ٱلَّذِينَ  أُخْرِجُوا۟  مِن  دِيَٰرِهِم  بِغَيْرِ  حَقٍّ  إِلَّآ  أَن  يَقُولُوا۟  رَبُّنَا  ٱللَّـهُ  وَلَوْلَا  دَفْعُ  ٱللَّـهِ  ٱلنَّاسَ  بَعْضَهُم  بِبَعْضٍ  لَّهُدِّمَتْ  صَوَٰمِعُ  وَبِيَعٌ  وَصَلَوَٰتٌ  وَمَسَٰجِدُ  يُذْكَرُ  فِيهَا  ٱسْمُ  ٱللَّـهِ  كَثِيرًا  وَلَيَنصُرَنَّ  ٱللَّـهُ  مَن  يَنصُرُهُۥٓ  إِنَّ  ٱللَّـهَ  لَقَوِىٌّ  عَزِيزٌ lladhīna ukhrijū min diyārihim bi‑ghayri ḥaqqin illā an yaqūlū rabbunā allāhu wa‑lawlā dafʿu allāhi l‑nāsa baʿḍahum bi‑baʿḍin la‑huddimat ṣawāmiʿu wa‑biyaʿun wa‑ṣalawātun wa‑masājidu yudhkaru fīhā smu allāhi kathīran wa‑la‑yanṣuranna allāhu man yanṣuruhu inna allāha la‑qawiyyun ʿazīzun
(They are) those who have been expelled from their homes in defiance of right,- (for no cause) except that they say, "our Lord is Allah". Did not Allah check one set of people by means of another, there would surely have been pulled down monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques, in which the name of Allah is commemorated in abundant measure. Allah will certainly aid those who aid his (cause);- for verily Allah is full of Strength, Exalted in Might, (able to enforce His Will).

Surah 23 al-Muʾminūn (The Believers)
(23:107)

رَبَّنَآ  أَخْرِجْنَا  مِنْهَا  فَإِنْ  عُدْنَا  فَإِنَّا  ظَٰلِمُونَ rabbanā akhrijnā minhā fa‑in ʿudnā fa‑innā ẓālimūna
"Our Lord! bring us out of this: if ever we return (to Evil), then shall we be wrong-doers indeed!"
