Surah 16 al-Naḥl (The Bee)

(16:45)    | أَفَأَمِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ مَكَرُوا۟ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ أَن يَخْسِفَ ٱللَّـهُ بِهِمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ أَوْ يَأْتِيَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ | afaamina lladhīna makarū l‑sayyiʾāti an yakhsifa allāhu bihimu l‑arḍa aw yaʾtiyahumu l‑ʿadhābu min ḥaythu lā yashʿurūna | Do then those who devise evil (plots) feel secure that Allah
will not cause the earth to swallow them up, or that the Wrath will not
seize them from directions they little perceive?-
Sura al-Naḥl 16:45 أَفَأَمِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ مَكَرُوا۟ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ أَن يَخْسِفَ ٱللَّـهُ بِهِمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ أَوْ يَأْتِيَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ afaamina lladhīna makarū l-sayyiʾāti an yakhsifa allāhu bihimu l-arḍa aw yaʾtiyahumu l-ʿadhābu min ḥaythu lā yashʿurūna Do then those who devise evil (plots) feel secure that Allah will not cause the earth to swallow them up, or that the Wrath will not seize them from directions they little perceive?- |
Surah 17 al-Isrāʾ (The Children of Israel) | (17:68) | أَفَأَمِنتُمْ أَن يَخْسِفَ بِكُمْ جَانِبَ ٱلْبَرِّ أَوْ يُرْسِلَ عَلَيْكُمْ حَاصِبًا ثُمَّ لَا تَجِدُوا۟ لَكُمْ وَكِيلًا | a‑fa‑amintum an yakhsifa bikum jāniba l‑barri aw yursila ʿalaykum ḥāṣiban thumma lā tajidū la‑kum wakīlan | Do ye then feel secure that He will not cause you to be
swallowed up beneath the earth when ye are on land, or that He will not
send against you a violent tornado (with showers of stones) so that ye
shall find no one to carry out your affairs for you?
Sura al-Isrāʾ 17:68 أَفَأَمِنتُمْ أَن يَخْسِفَ بِكُمْ جَانِبَ ٱلْبَرِّ أَوْ يُرْسِلَ عَلَيْكُمْ حَاصِبًا ثُمَّ لَا تَجِدُوا۟ لَكُمْ وَكِيلًا a-fa-amintum an yakhsifa bikum jāniba l-barri aw yursila ʿalaykum ḥāṣiban thumma lā tajidū la-kum wakīlan Do ye then feel secure that He will not cause you to be swallowed up beneath the earth when ye are on land, or that He will not send against you a violent tornado (with showers of stones) so that ye shall find no one to carry out your affairs for you? |
Surah 28 al-Qaṣaṣ (The Narrative) | (28:82) | وَأَصْبَحَ ٱلَّذِينَ تَمَنَّوْا۟ مَكَانَهُۥ بِٱلْأَمْسِ يَقُولُونَ وَيْكَأَنَّ ٱللَّـهَ يَبْسُطُ ٱلرِّزْقَ لِمَن يَشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِۦ وَيَقْدِرُ لَوْلَآ أَن مَّنَّ ٱللَّـهُ عَلَيْنَا لَخَسَفَ بِنَا وَيْكَأَنَّهُۥ لَا يُفْلِحُ ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ | wa‑aṣbaḥa lladhīna tamannaw makānahu bil‑amsi yaqūlūna way‑ka‑anna allāha yabsuṭu l‑rizqa li‑man yashāʾu min ʿibādihi wa‑yaqdiru lawlā an manna allāhu ʿalaynā la‑khasafa binā way‑ka‑annahu lā yufliḥu l‑kāfirūna | And those who had envied his position the day before began to
say on the morrow: "Ah! it is indeed Allah Who enlarges the provision or
restricts it, to any of His servants He pleases! had it not been that Allah
was gracious to us, He could have caused the earth to swallow us up! Ah!
those who reject Allah will assuredly never prosper."
Sura al-Qaṣaṣ 28:82 وَأَصْبَحَ ٱلَّذِينَ تَمَنَّوْا۟ مَكَانَهُۥ بِٱلْأَمْسِ يَقُولُونَ وَيْكَأَنَّ ٱللَّـهَ يَبْسُطُ ٱلرِّزْقَ لِمَن يَشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِۦ وَيَقْدِرُ لَوْلَآ أَن مَّنَّ ٱللَّـهُ عَلَيْنَا لَخَسَفَ بِنَا وَيْكَأَنَّهُۥ لَا يُفْلِحُ ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ wa-aṣbaḥa lladhīna tamannaw makānahu bil-amsi yaqūlūna way-ka-anna allāha yabsuṭu l-rizqa li-man yashāʾu min ʿibādihi wa-yaqdiru lawlā an manna allāhu ʿalaynā la-khasafa binā way-ka-annahu lā yufliḥu l-kāfirūna And those who had envied his position the day before began to say on the morrow: "Ah! it is indeed Allah Who enlarges the provision or restricts it, to any of His servants He pleases! had it not been that Allah was gracious to us, He could have caused the earth to swallow us up! Surah 67 al-Mulk (The Kingdom) | (67:16) | ءَأَمِنتُم مَّن فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ أَن يَخْسِفَ بِكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ فَإِذَا هِىَ تَمُورُ | a‑amintum man fī l‑samāʾi an yakhsifa bikumu l‑arḍa fa‑idhā hiya tamūru | Do ye feel secure that He Who is in heaven will not cause you
to be swallowed up by the earth when it shakes (as in an earthquake)?
Sura al-Mulk 67:16 ءَأَمِنتُم مَّن فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ أَن يَخْسِفَ بِكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ فَإِذَا هِىَ تَمُورُ a-amintum man fī l-samāʾi an yakhsifa bikumu l-arḍa fa-idhā hiya tamūru Do ye feel secure that He Who is in heaven will not cause you to be swallowed up by the earth when it shakes (as in an earthquake)? |
Surah 75 al-Qiyāmah (The Resurrection) | (75:8) | وَخَسَفَ ٱلْقَمَرُ | wa‑khasafa l‑qamaru | And the moon is buried in darkness.
