Surah 3 Āl-ʿImrān (The Family of Imran)

(3:44)

ذَٰلِكَ  مِنْ  أَنۢبَآءِ  ٱلْغَيْبِ  نُوحِيهِ  إِلَيْكَ  وَمَا  كُنتَ  لَدَيْهِمْ  إِذْ  يُلْقُونَ  أَقْلَٰمَهُمْ  أَيُّهُمْ  يَكْفُلُ  مَرْيَمَ  وَمَا  كُنتَ  لَدَيْهِمْ  إِذْ  يَخْتَصِمُونَ dhālika min anbāʾi l‑ghaybi nūḥīhi ilayka wa‑mā kunta ladayhim idh yulqūna aqlāmahum ayyuhum yakfulu maryama wa‑mā kunta ladayhim idh yakhtaṣimūna
This is part of the tidings of the things unseen, which We reveal unto thee (O Messenger!) by inspiration: Thou wast not with them when they cast lots with arrows, as to which of them should be charged with the care of Mary: Nor wast thou with them when they disputed (the point).

Surah 22 al-Ḥajj (The Pilgrimage)
(22:19)

هَٰذَانِ  خَصْمَانِ  ٱخْتَصَمُوا۟  فِى  رَبِّهِمْ  فَٱلَّذِينَ  كَفَرُوا۟  قُطِّعَتْ  لَهُمْ  ثِيَابٌ  مِّن  نَّارٍ  يُصَبُّ  مِن  فَوْقِ  رُءُوسِهِمُ  ٱلْحَمِيمُ hādhāni khaṣmāni ikhtaṣamū rabbihim fa‑lladhīna kafarū quṭṭiʿaṭ lahum thiyābun min nnārin yuṣabbu min fawqi ruʾūsihimu l‑ḥamīmu
These two antagonists dispute with each other about their Lord: But those who deny (their Lord),- for them will be cut out a garment of Fire: over their heads will be poured out boiling water.

Surah 26 al-Shuʿarā (The Poets)
(26:96)

قَالُوا۟  وَهُمْ  فِيهَا  يَخْتَصِمُونَ qālū wa‑hum fīhā yakhtaṣimūna
"They will say there in their mutual bickerings:

Surah 27 al-Naml (The Ant)
(27:45)

وَلَقَدْ  أَرْسَلْنَآ  إِلَىٰ  ثَمُودَ  أَخَاهُمْ  صَٰلِحًا  أَنِ  ٱعْبُدُوا۟  ٱللَّـهَ  فَإِذَا  هُمْ  فَرِيقَانِ  يَخْتَصِمُونَ wa‑la‑qad arsalnā ilā thamūda akhāhum ṣāliḥan ani iʿbudū allāha fa‑idhā hum farīqāni yakhtaṣimūna
We sent (aforetime), to the Thamud, their brother Salih, saying, "Serve Allah": But behold, they became two factions quarrelling with each other.

Surah 36 Yā Sin (Ya Sin)
(36:49)

مَا  يَنظُرُونَ  إِلَّا  صَيْحَةً  وَٰحِدَةً  تَأْخُذُهُمْ  وَهُمْ  يَخِصِّمُونَ yanẓurūna illā ṣayḥatan wāḥidatan takhudhuhum wa‑hum yakhiṣṣimūna
They will not (have to) wait for aught but a single Blast: it will seize them while they are yet disputing among themselves!

Surah 38 Ṣād (Sad)
(38:69)

مَا  كَانَ  لِىَ  مِنْ  عِلْمٍۭ  بِٱلْمَلَإِ  ٱلْأَعْلَىٰٓ  إِذْ  يَخْتَصِمُونَ kāna liya min ʿilmin bil‑malaʾi l‑aʿlā idh yakhtaṣimūna
"No knowledge have I of the Chiefs on high, when they discuss (matters) among themselves.
