(11:88) | قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ أَرَءَيْتُمْ إِن كُنتُ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّى وَرَزَقَنِى مِنْهُ رِزْقًا حَسَنًا وَمَآ أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُخَالِفَكُمْ إِلَىٰ مَآ أَنْهَىٰكُمْ عَنْهُ إِنْ أُرِيدُ إِلَّا ٱلْإِصْلَٰحَ مَا ٱسْتَطَعْتُ وَمَا تَوْفِيقِىٓ إِلَّا بِٱللَّـهِ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَإِلَيْهِ أُنِيبُ | qalā yā‑qawmi a‑raʾaytum in kuntu ʿalā bayyinatin min rrabbī wa‑razaqanī minhu rizqan ḥasanan wa‑mā urīdu an ukhālifakum ilā mā anhakum ʿanhu in urīdu illā l‑iṣlāḥa mā istaṭaʿtu wa‑mā tawfīqī illā billāhi ʿalayhi tawakkaltu wa‑ilayhi unību | He said: "O my people! see ye whether I have a Clear (Sign)
from my Lord, and He hath given me sustenance (pure and) good as from
Himself? I wish not, in opposition to you, to do that which I forbid you to
do. I only desire (your) betterment to the best of my power; and my success
(in my task) can only come from Allah. In Him I trust, and unto Him I look.
Sura Hūd 11:88 قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ أَرَءَيْتُمْ إِن كُنتُ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّى وَرَزَقَنِى مِنْهُ رِزْقًا حَسَنًا وَمَآ أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُخَالِفَكُمْ إِلَىٰ مَآ أَنْهَىٰكُمْ عَنْهُ إِنْ أُرِيدُ إِلَّا ٱلْإِصْلَٰحَ مَا ٱسْتَطَعْتُ وَمَا تَوْفِيقِىٓ إِلَّا بِٱللَّـهِ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَإِلَيْهِ أُنِيبُ qalā yā-qawmi a-raʾaytum in kuntu ʿalā bayyinatin min rrabbī wa-razaqanī minhu rizqan ḥasanan wa-mā urīdu an ukhālifakum ilā mā anhakum ʿanhu in urīdu illā l-iṣlāḥa mā istaṭaʿtu wa-mā tawfīqī illā billāhi ʿalayhi tawakkaltu wa-ilayhi unību He said: "O my people! see ye whether I have a Clear (Sign) from my Lord, and He hath given me sustenance (pure and) good as from Himself? (14:22) | وَقَالَ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ لَمَّا قُضِىَ ٱلْأَمْرُ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ وَعَدَكُمْ وَعْدَ ٱلْحَقِّ وَوَعَدتُّكُمْ فَأَخْلَفْتُكُمْ وَمَا كَانَ لِىَ عَلَيْكُم مِّن سُلْطَٰنٍ إِلَّآ أَن دَعَوْتُكُمْ فَٱسْتَجَبْتُمْ لِى فَلَا تَلُومُونِى وَلُومُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَكُم مَّآ أَنَا۠ بِمُصْرِخِكُمْ وَمَآ أَنتُم بِمُصْرِخِىَّ إِنِّى كَفَرْتُ بِمَآ أَشْرَكْتُمُونِ مِن قَبْلُ إِنَّ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ | wa‑qāla l‑shayṭānu lammā quḍiya l‑amru inna allāha waʿadakum waʿda l‑ḥaqqi wa‑waʿadttukum fa‑akhlaftukum wa‑mā kāna liya ʿalaykum min sulṭānin illā an daʿawtukum fa‑istajabtum lī fa‑lā talūmūnī wa‑lūmū anfusakum mā anā bimuṣrikhikum wa‑mā antum bimuṣrikhiyya innī kafartu bimā ashraktumūni min qablu inna l‑ẓālimīna lahum ʿadhābun alīmun | And Satan will say when the matter is decided: "It was Allah Who
gave you a promise of Truth: I too promised, but I failed in my promise to
you. I had no authority over you except to call you but ye listened to me:
then reproach not me, but reproach your own souls. I cannot listen to your
cries, nor can ye listen to mine. I reject your former act in associating
me with Allah. For wrong-doers there must be a grievous penalty."

(20:58) | فَلَنَأْتِيَنَّكَ بِسِحْرٍ مِّثْلِهِۦ فَٱجْعَلْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكَ مَوْعِدًا لَّا نُخْلِفُهُۥ نَحْنُ وَلَآ أَنتَ مَكَانًا سُوًى | fa‑la‑naʾtiyannaka bi‑siḥrin mithlihi fa‑ijʿal baynanā wa‑baynaka mawʿidan lā nukhlifuhu naḥnu wa‑lā anta makānan suwan | "But we can surely produce magic to match thine! So make a
tryst between us and thee, which we shall not fail to keep - neither we nor
thou - in a place where both shall have even chances."
Sura Ṭā Hā 20:58 فَلَنَأْتِيَنَّكَ بِسِحْرٍ مِّثْلِهِۦ فَٱجْعَلْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكَ مَوْعِدًا لَّا نُخْلِفُهُۥ نَحْنُ وَلَآ أَنتَ مَكَانًا سُوًى fa-la-naʾtiyannaka bi-siḥrin mithlihi fa-ijʿal baynanā wa-baynaka mawʿidan lā nukhlifuhu naḥnu wa-lā anta makānan suwan "But we can surely produce magic to match thine! So make a tryst between us and thee, which we shall not fail to keep - neither we nor thou - in a place where both shall have even chances." |
(20:87) | قَالُوا۟ مَآ أَخْلَفْنَا مَوْعِدَكَ بِمَلْكِنَا وَلَٰكِنَّا حُمِّلْنَآ أَوْزَارًا مِّن زِينَةِ ٱلْقَوْمِ فَقَذَفْنَٰهَا فَكَذَٰلِكَ أَلْقَى ٱلسَّامِرِىُّ | qālū mā akhlafnā mawʿidaka bi‑malkinā wa‑lākinnā ḥummilnā awzāran min zīnati l‑qawmi fa‑qadhafnāhā fa‑ka‑dhālika alqā l‑sāmiriyyu | They said: "We broke not the promise to thee, as far as lay in
our power: but we were made to carry the weight of the ornaments of the
(whole) people, and we threw them (into the fire), and that was what the
Samiri suggested.
Sura Ṭā Hā 20:87 قَالُوا۟ مَآ أَخْلَفْنَا مَوْعِدَكَ بِمَلْكِنَا وَلَٰكِنَّا حُمِّلْنَآ أَوْزَارًا مِّن زِينَةِ ٱلْقَوْمِ فَقَذَفْنَٰهَا فَكَذَٰلِكَ أَلْقَى ٱلسَّامِرِىُّ qālū mā akhlafnā mawʿidaka bi-malkinā wa-lākinnā ḥummilnā awzāran min zīnati l-qawmi fa-qadhafnāhā fa-ka-dhālika alqā l-sāmiriyyu They said: "We broke not the promise to thee, as far as lay in our power: but we were made to carry the weight of the ornaments of the (whole) people, and we threw them (into the fire), and that was what the Samiri suggested. |
