Sura Yūnus 10:16

قُل لَّوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّـهُ مَا تَلَوْتُهُۥ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَآ أَدْرَىٰكُم بِهِۦ فَقَدْ لَبِثْتُ فِيكُمْ عُمُرًا مِّن قَبْلِهِۦٓ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ

qul law shāʾa allāhu mā talawtuhu ʿalaykum wa-lā adrakum bihi fa-qad labithtu fīkum ʿumuran min qablihi a-fa-lā taʿqilūna

Say: "If Allah had so willed, I should not have rehearsed it to you, nor would He have made it known to you. A whole life-time before this have I tarried amongst you: will ye not then understand?"

Sura al-Anbiyāʾ 21:109

فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَقُلْ ءَاذَنتُكُمْ عَلَىٰ سَوَآءٍ وَإِنْ أَدْرِىٓ أَقَرِيبٌ أَم بَعِيدٌ مَّا تُوعَدُونَ

fa-in tawallaw fa-qul ādhantukum ʿalā sawāʾin wa-in adrī aqarībun am baʿīdun mā tūʿadūna

But if they turn back, Say: "I have proclaimed the Message to you all alike and in truth; but I know not whether that which ye are promised is near or far.

Sura al-Anbiyāʾ 21:111

وَإِنْ أَدْرِى لَعَلَّهُۥ فِتْنَةٌ لَّكُمْ وَمَتَٰعٌ إِلَىٰ حِينٍ

wa-in adrī laʿallahu fitnatun la-kum wa-matāʿun ilā ḥīnin

"I know not but that it may be a trial for you, and a grant of (worldly) livelihood (to you) for a time."

Sura Luqmān 31:34

إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ عِندَهُۥ عِلْمُ ٱلسَّاعَةِ وَيُنَزِّلُ ٱلْغَيْثَ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا فِى ٱلْأَرْحَامِ وَمَا تَدْرِى نَفْسٌ مَّاذَا تَكْسِبُ غَدًا وَمَا تَدْرِى نَفْسٌۢ بِأَىِّ أَرْضٍ تَمُوتُ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ عَلِيمٌ خَبِيرٌۢ

inna allāha ʿindahu ʿilmu l-sāʿati wa-yunazzilu l-ghaytha wa-yaʿlamu mā fī l-arḥāmi wa-mā tadrī nafsun mādhā taksibu ghadan wa-mā tadrī nafsun bi-ayyi arḍin tamūtu inna allāha ʿalīmun khabīrun

Verily the knowledge of the Hour is with Allah (alone). It is He Who sends down rain, and He Who knows what is in the wombs. Nor does any one know what it is that he will earn on the morrow: Nor does any one know in what land he is to die. Verily with Allah is full knowledge and He is acquainted (with all things).

Sura al-Aḥzāb 33:63

يَسْـَٔلُكَ ٱلنَّاسُ عَنِ ٱلسَّاعَةِ قُلْ إِنَّمَا عِلْمُهَا عِندَ ٱللَّـهِ وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ لَعَلَّ ٱلسَّاعَةَ تَكُونُ قَرِيبًا

yasʾaluka l-nāsu ʿani l-sāʿati qul innamā ʿilmuhā ʿinda allāhi wa-mā yudrīka laʿalla l-sāʿata takūnu qarīban

Men ask thee concerning the Hour: Say, "The knowledge thereof is with Allah (alone)": and what will make thee understand?- perchance the Hour is nigh!

Sura al-Shūrā 42:17

ٱللَّـهُ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنزَلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَٱلْمِيزَانَ وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ لَعَلَّ ٱلسَّاعَةَ قَرِيبٌ

allāhu alladhī anzala l-kitāba bil-ḥaqqi wa-l-mīzāna wa-mā yudrīka laʿalla l-sāʿata qarībun

It is Allah Who has sent down the Book in Truth, and the Balance (by which to weigh conduct). And what will make thee realise that perhaps the Hour is close at hand?

Sura al-Shūrā 42:52

وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْكَ رُوحًا مِّنْ أَمْرِنَا مَا كُنتَ تَدْرِى مَا ٱلْكِتَٰبُ وَلَا ٱلْإِيمَٰنُ وَلَٰكِن جَعَلْنَٰهُ نُورًا نَّهْدِى بِهِۦ مَن نَّشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا وَإِنَّكَ لَتَهْدِىٓ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ

wa-ka-dhālika awḥaynā ilayka rūḥan min amrinā mā kunta tadrī mā l-kitābu wa-lā l-īmānu wa-lākin jaʿalnāhu nūran nahdī bihi man nashāʾu min ʿibādinā wainnaka la-tahdī ilā ṣirāṭin mustaqīmin

And thus have We, by Our Command, sent inspiration to thee: thou knewest not (before) what was Revelation, and what was Faith; but We have made the (Qur'an) a Light, wherewith We guide such of Our servants as We will; and verily thou dost guide (men) to the Straight Way,-

Sura al-Aḥqāf 46:9

قُلْ مَا كُنتُ بِدْعًا مِّنَ ٱلرُّسُلِ وَمَآ أَدْرِى مَا يُفْعَلُ بِى وَلَا بِكُمْ إِنْ أَتَّبِعُ إِلَّا مَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَىَّ وَمَآ أَنَا۠ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ

qul mā kuntu bidʿan mina l-rusuli wa-mā adrī mā yufʿalu bī wa-lā bikum in attabiʿu illā mā yūḥā ilayya wa-mā anā illā nadhīrun mubīnun

Say: "I am no bringer of new-fangled doctrine among the messengers, nor do I know what will be done with me or with you. I follow but that which is revealed to me by inspiration; I am but a Warner open and clear."

Sura al-Ṭalāq 65:1

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّبِىُّ إِذَا طَلَّقْتُمُ ٱلنِّسَآءَ فَطَلِّقُوهُنَّ لِعِدَّتِهِنَّ وَأَحْصُوا۟ ٱلْعِدَّةَ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ رَبَّكُمْ لَا تُخْرِجُوهُنَّ مِنۢ بُيُوتِهِنَّ وَلَا يَخْرُجْنَ إِلَّآ أَن يَأْتِينَ بِفَٰحِشَةٍ مُّبَيِّنَةٍ وَتِلْكَ حُدُودُ ٱللَّـهِ وَمَن يَتَعَدَّ حُدُودَ ٱللَّـهِ فَقَدْ ظَلَمَ نَفْسَهُۥ لَا تَدْرِى لَعَلَّ ٱللَّـهَ يُحْدِثُ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ أَمْرًا

yā-ayyuhā l-nabiyyu idhā ṭallaqtumu l-nisāʾa fa-ṭalliqūhunna li-ʿiddatihinna wa-aḥṣū l-ʿiddata wa-ittaqū allāha rabbakum lā tukhrijūhunna min buyūtihinna wa-lā yakhrujna illā an yaʾtīna bi-fāḥishatin mubayyinatin wa-tilka ḥudūdu allāhi wa-man yataʿadda ḥudūda allāhi fa-qad ẓalama nafsahu lā tadrī laʿalla allāha yuḥdithu baʿda dhālika amran

O Prophet! When ye do divorce women, divorce them at their prescribed periods, and count (accurately), their prescribed periods: And fear Allah your Lord: and turn them not out of their houses, nor shall they (themselves) leave, except in case they are guilty of some open lewdness, those are limits set by Allah: and any who transgresses the limits of Allah, does verily wrong his (own) soul: thou knowest not if perchance Allah will bring about thereafter some new situation.

Sura al-Ḥāqqah 69:3

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْحَآقَّةُ

wa-mā adrāka mā l-ḥāqqatu

And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is?

Sura al-Ḥāqqah 69:26

وَلَمْ أَدْرِ مَا حِسَابِيَهْ

wa-lam adri mā ḥisābiyah

"And that I had never realised how my account (stood)!

Sura al-Jinn 72:25

قُلْ إِنْ أَدْرِىٓ أَقَرِيبٌ مَّا تُوعَدُونَ أَمْ يَجْعَلُ لَهُۥ رَبِّىٓ أَمَدًا

qul in adrī aqarībun mā tūʿadūna am yajʿalu lahu rabbī amadan

Say: "I know not whether the (Punishment) which ye are promised is near, or whether my Lord will appoint for it a distant term.

Sura al-Muddaththir 74:27

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا سَقَرُ

wa-mā adrāka mā saqaru

And what will explain to thee what Hell-Fire is?

Sura al-Mursalāt 77:14

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ

wa-mā adrāka mā yawmu l-faṣli

And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out?

Sura al-ʿAbasa 80:3

وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ لَعَلَّهُۥ يَزَّكَّىٰٓ

wa-mā yudrīka laʿallahu yazzakkā

But what could tell thee but that perchance he might grow (in spiritual understanding)?-

Sura al-Infiṭār 82:17

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ

wa-mā adrāka mā yawmu l-dīni

And what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is?

Sura al-Infiṭār 82:18

ثُمَّ مَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ

thumma mā adrāka mā yawmu l-dīni

Again, what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is?

Sura al-Muṭaffifīn 83:8

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا سِجِّينٌ

wa-mā adrāka mā sijjīnun

And what will explain to thee what Sijjin is?

Sura al-Muṭaffifīn 83:19

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا عِلِّيُّونَ

wa-mā adrāka mā ʿillīyūna

And what will explain to thee what 'Illiyun is?

Sura al-Ṭāriq 86:2

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلطَّارِقُ

wa-mā adrāka mā l-ṭāriqu

And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?-

Sura al-Balad 90:12

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْعَقَبَةُ

wa-mā adrāka mā l-ʿaqabatu

And what will explain to thee the path that is steep?-

Sura al-Qadr 97:2

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا لَيْلَةُ ٱلْقَدْرِ

wa-mā adrāka mā laylatu l-qadri

And what will explain to thee what the night of power is?

Sura al-Qāriʿah 101:3

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْقَارِعَةُ

wa-mā adrāka mā l-qāriʿatu

And what will explain to thee what the (Day) of Noise and Clamour is?

Sura al-Qāriʿah 101:10

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا هِيَهْ

wa-mā adrāka mā hiyah

And what will explain to thee what this is?

Sura al-Humazah 104:5

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْحُطَمَةُ

wa-mā adrāka mā l-ḥuṭamatu

And what will explain to thee That which Breaks to Pieces?
