Surah 2 al-Baqara (The Cow)
RefArabic    TransliterationTranslation
(2:61)

And remember ye said: "O Moses! we cannot endure one kind of food (always); so beseech thy Lord for us to produce for us of what the earth groweth, -its pot-herbs, and cucumbers, Its garlic, lentils, and onions." He said: "Will ye exchange the better for the worse? Go ye down to any town, and ye shall find what ye want!" They were covered with humiliation and misery; they drew on themselves the wrath of Allah. This because they went on rejecting the Signs of Allah and slaying His Messengers without just cause. This because they rebelled and went on transgressing.
(2:68)

قَالُوا۟  ٱدْعُ  لَنَا  رَبَّكَ  يُبَيِّن  لَّنَا  مَا  هِىَ  قَالَ  إِنَّهُۥ  يَقُولُ  إِنَّهَا  بَقَرَةٌ  لَّا  فَارِضٌ  وَلَا  بِكْرٌ  عَوَانٌۢ  بَيْنَ  ذَٰلِكَ  فَٱفْعَلُوا۟  مَا  تُؤْمَرُونَ qālū idʿu la‑nā rabbaka yubayyin lanā hiya qalā innahu yaqūlu innahā baqaratun fāriḍun wa‑lā bikrun ʿawānun bayna dhālika fa‑ifʿalū tuʾmarūna
They said: "Beseech on our behalf Thy Lord to make plain to us what (heifer) it is!" He said; "He says: The heifer should be neither too old nor too young, but of middling age. Now do what ye are commanded!"
(2:69)

They said: "Beseech on our behalf Thy Lord to make plain to us Her colour." He said: "He says: A fawn-coloured heifer, pure and rich in tone, the admiration of beholders!"
(2:70)

قَالُوا۟  ٱدْعُ  لَنَا  رَبَّكَ  يُبَيِّن  لَّنَا  مَا  هِىَ  إِنَّ  ٱلْبَقَرَ  تَشَٰبَهَ  عَلَيْنَا  وَإِنَّآ  إِن  شَآءَ  ٱللَّـهُ  لَمُهْتَدُونَ qālū idʿu la‑nā rabbaka yubayyin lanā hiya inna l‑baqara tashābaha ʿalaynā wa‑innā in shāʾa allāhu la‑muhtadūna
They said: "Beseech on our behalf Thy Lord to make plain to us what she is: To us are all heifers alike: We wish indeed for guidance, if Allah wills."
(2:221)

Do not marry unbelieving women (idolaters), until they believe: A slave woman who believes is better than an unbelieving woman, even though she allures you. Nor marry (your girls) to unbelievers until they believe: A man slave who believes is better than an unbeliever, even though he allures you. Unbelievers do (but) beckon you to the Fire. But Allah beckons by His Grace to the Garden (of bliss) and forgiveness, and makes His Signs clear to mankind: That they may celebrate His praise.
(2:260)

When Abraham said: "Show me, Lord, how You will raise the dead, " He replied: "Have you no faith?" He said "Yes, but just to reassure my heart." Allah said, "Take four birds, draw them to you, and cut their bodies to pieces. Scatter them over the mountain-tops, then call them back. They will come swiftly to you. Know that Allah is Mighty, Wise."

Surah 3 Āl-ʿImrān (The Family of Imran)
(3:38)

هُنَالِكَ  دَعَا  زَكَرِيَّا  رَبَّهُۥ  قَالَ  رَبِّ  هَبْ  لِى  مِن  لَّدُنكَ  ذُرِّيَّةً  طَيِّبَةً  إِنَّكَ  سَمِيعُ  ٱلدُّعَآءِ hunālika daʿā zakariyyā rabbahu qalā rabbi hab min ladunka dhurriyyatan ṭayyibatan innaka samīʿu l‑duʿāʾi
There did Zakariya pray to his Lord, saying: "O my Lord! Grant unto me from Thee a progeny that is pure: for Thou art He that heareth prayer!
(3:153)

Behold! ye were climbing up the high ground, without even casting a side glance at any one, and the Messenger in your rear was calling you back. There did Allah give you one distress after another by way of requital, to teach you not to grieve for (the booty) that had escaped you and for (the ill) that had befallen you. For Allah is well aware of all that ye do.

Surah 7 al-Aʿrāf (The Heights)
(7:134)

وَلَمَّا  وَقَعَ  عَلَيْهِمُ  ٱلرِّجْزُ  قَالُوا۟  يَٰمُوسَى  ٱدْعُ  لَنَا  رَبَّكَ  بِمَا  عَهِدَ  عِندَكَ  لَئِن  كَشَفْتَ  عَنَّا  ٱلرِّجْزَ  لَنُؤْمِنَنَّ  لَكَ  وَلَنُرْسِلَنَّ  مَعَكَ  بَنِىٓ  إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ wa‑lammā waqaʿa ʿalayhimu l‑rijzu qālū yā‑musā idʿu la‑nā rabbaka bi‑mā ʿahida ʿindaka lain kashafta ʿannā l‑rijza la‑nuʾminanna la‑ka wa‑la‑nursilanna maʿaka banī isrāʾīla
Every time the penalty fell on them, they said: "O Moses! on your behalf call on thy Lord in virtue of his promise to thee: If thou wilt remove the penalty from us, we shall truly believe in thee, and we shall send away the Children of Israel with thee."

Surah 8 al-Anfāl (The Spoils of War)
(8:24)

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا  ٱلَّذِينَ  ءَامَنُوا۟  ٱسْتَجِيبُوا۟  لِلَّـهِ  وَلِلرَّسُولِ  إِذَا  دَعَاكُمْ  لِمَا  يُحْيِيكُمْ  وَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟  أَنَّ  ٱللَّـهَ  يَحُولُ  بَيْنَ  ٱلْمَرْءِ  وَقَلْبِهِۦ  وَأَنَّهُۥٓ  إِلَيْهِ  تُحْشَرُونَ yā‑ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū istajībū lillāhi wa‑lil‑rasūli idhā daʿākum li‑mā yuḥyīkum wa‑iʿlamū annā allāha yaḥūlu bayna l‑mari wa‑qalbihi wa‑annahu ilayhi tuḥsharūna
O ye who believe! give your response to Allah and His Messenger, when He calleth you to that which will give you life; and know that Allah cometh in between a man and his heart, and that it is He to Whom ye shall (all) be gathered.

Surah 10 Yūnus (Jonah)
(10:12)

وَإِذَا  مَسَّ  ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ  ٱلضُّرُّ  دَعَانَا  لِجَنۢبِهِۦٓ  أَوْ  قَاعِدًا  أَوْ  قَآئِمًا  فَلَمَّا  كَشَفْنَا  عَنْهُ  ضُرَّهُۥ  مَرَّ  كَأَن  لَّمْ  يَدْعُنَآ  إِلَىٰ  ضُرٍّ  مَّسَّهُۥ  كَذَٰلِكَ  زُيِّنَ  لِلْمُسْرِفِينَ  مَا  كَانُوا۟  يَعْمَلُونَ wa‑idhā massa l‑insāna l‑ḍurru daʿānā lijanbihi aw qāʿidan aw qāʾiman fa‑lammā kashafnā ʿanhu ḍurrahu marra ka‑an lam yadʿunā ilā ḍurrin massahu ka‑dhālika zuyyina lil‑musrifīna kānū yaʿmalūna
When trouble toucheth a man, He crieth unto Us (in all postures)- lying down on his side, or sitting, or standing. But when We have solved his trouble, he passeth on his way as if he had never cried to Us for a trouble that touched him! thus do the deeds of transgressors seem fair in their eyes!
(10:25)

وَٱللَّـهُ  يَدْعُوٓا۟  إِلَىٰ  دَارِ  ٱلسَّلَٰمِ  وَيَهْدِى  مَن  يَشَآءُ  إِلَىٰ  صِرَٰطٍ  مُّسْتَقِيمٍ wallāhu yadʿū ilā dāri l‑salāmi wa‑yahdī man yashāʾu ilā ṣirāṭin mustaqīmin
But Allah doth call to the Home of Peace: He doth guide whom He pleaseth to a way that is straight.
(10:106)

وَلَا  تَدْعُ  مِن  دُونِ  ٱللَّـهِ  مَا  لَا  يَنفَعُكَ  وَلَا  يَضُرُّكَ  فَإِن  فَعَلْتَ  فَإِنَّكَ  إِذًا  مِّنَ  ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ wa‑lā tadʿu min dūni allāhi yanfaʿuka wa‑lā yaḍurruka fa‑in faʿalta fa‑innaka idhan mina l‑ẓālimīna
"'Nor call on any, other than Allah;- Such will neither profit thee nor hurt thee: if thou dost, behold! thou shalt certainly be of those who do wrong.'"

Surah 11 Hūd (Hud)
(11:62)

قَالُوا۟  يَٰصَٰلِحُ  قَدْ  كُنتَ  فِينَا  مَرْجُوًّا  قَبْلَ  هَٰذَآ  أَتَنْهَىٰنَآ  أَن  نَّعْبُدَ  مَا  يَعْبُدُ  ءَابَآؤُنَا  وَإِنَّنَا  لَفِى  شَكٍّ  مِّمَّا  تَدْعُونَآ  إِلَيْهِ  مُرِيبٍ qālū yāṣāliḥu qad kunta fīnā marjūwan qabla hādhā atanhanā an nnaʿbuda yaʿbudu ābāʾunā wa‑innanā la‑fī shakkin mimmā tadʿūnā ilayhi murībin
They said: "O Salih! thou hast been of us! a centre of our hopes hitherto! dost thou (now) forbid us the worship of what our fathers worshipped? But we are really in suspicious (disquieting) doubt as to that to which thou invitest us."

Surah 12 Yūsuf (Joseph)
(12:108)

Say thou: "This is my way: I do invite unto Allah,- on evidence clear as the seeing with one's eyes,- I and whoever follows me. Glory to Allah! and never will I join gods with Allah!"

Surah 13 al-Raʿd (The Thunder)
(13:36)

وَٱلَّذِينَ  ءَاتَيْنَٰهُمُ  ٱلْكِتَٰبَ  يَفْرَحُونَ  بِمَآ  أُنزِلَ  إِلَيْكَ  وَمِنَ  ٱلْأَحْزَابِ  مَن  يُنكِرُ  بَعْضَهُۥ  قُلْ  إِنَّمَآ  أُمِرْتُ  أَنْ  أَعْبُدَ  ٱللَّـهَ  وَلَآ  أُشْرِكَ  بِهِۦٓ  إِلَيْهِ  أَدْعُوا۟  وَإِلَيْهِ  مَـَٔابِ wa‑lladhīna ātaynāhumu l‑kitāba yafraḥūna bimā unzila ilayka wa‑mina l‑aḥzābi man yunkiru baʿḍahu qul innamā umirtu an aʿbuda allāha wa‑lā ushrika bihi ilayhi adʿū wa‑ilayhi maʾābi
Those to whom We have given the Book rejoice at what hath been revealed unto thee: but there are among the clans those who reject a part thereof. Say: "I am commanded to worship Allah, and not to join partners with Him. Unto Him do I call, and unto Him is my return."

Surah 14 Ibrāhīm (Abraham)
(14:10)

قَالَتْ  رُسُلُهُمْ  أَفِى  ٱللَّـهِ  شَكٌّ  فَاطِرِ  ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ  وَٱلْأَرْضِ  يَدْعُوكُمْ  لِيَغْفِرَ  لَكُم  مِّن  ذُنُوبِكُمْ  وَيُؤَخِّرَكُمْ  إِلَىٰٓ  أَجَلٍ  مُّسَمًّى  قَالُوٓا۟  إِنْ  أَنتُمْ  إِلَّا  بَشَرٌ  مِّثْلُنَا  تُرِيدُونَ  أَن  تَصُدُّونَا  عَمَّا  كَانَ  يَعْبُدُ  ءَابَآؤُنَا  فَأْتُونَا  بِسُلْطَٰنٍ  مُّبِينٍ qālat rusuluhum afī allāhi shakkun fāṭiri l‑samāwāti wa‑l‑arḍi yadʿūkum li‑yaghfira la‑kum min dhunūbikum wa‑yuʾakhkhirakum ila ajalin musamman qālū in antum illā basharun mithlunā turīdūna an taṣuddūnā ʿammā kāna yaʿbudu ābāʾunā fa‑ʾtūnā bi‑sulṭānin mubīnin
Their messengers said: "Is there a doubt about Allah, The Creator of the heavens and the earth? It is He Who invites you, in order that He may forgive you your sins and give you respite for a term appointed!" They said: "Ah! ye are no more than human, like ourselves! Ye wish to turn us away from the (gods) our fathers used to worship: then bring us some clear authority."
(14:22)

وَقَالَ  ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ  لَمَّا  قُضِىَ  ٱلْأَمْرُ  إِنَّ  ٱللَّـهَ  وَعَدَكُمْ  وَعْدَ  ٱلْحَقِّ  وَوَعَدتُّكُمْ  فَأَخْلَفْتُكُمْ  وَمَا  كَانَ  لِىَ  عَلَيْكُم  مِّن  سُلْطَٰنٍ  إِلَّآ  أَن  دَعَوْتُكُمْ  فَٱسْتَجَبْتُمْ  لِى  فَلَا  تَلُومُونِى  وَلُومُوٓا۟  أَنفُسَكُم  مَّآ  أَنَا۠  بِمُصْرِخِكُمْ  وَمَآ  أَنتُم  بِمُصْرِخِىَّ  إِنِّى  كَفَرْتُ  بِمَآ  أَشْرَكْتُمُونِ  مِن  قَبْلُ  إِنَّ  ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ  لَهُمْ  عَذَابٌ  أَلِيمٌ wa‑qāla l‑shayṭānu lammā quḍiya l‑amru inna allāha waʿadakum waʿda l‑ḥaqqi wa‑waʿadttukum fa‑akhlaftukum wa‑mā kāna liya ʿalaykum min sulṭānin illā an daʿawtukum fa‑istajabtum fa‑lā talūmūnī wa‑lūmū anfusakum anā bimuṣrikhikum wa‑mā antum bimuṣrikhiyya innī kafartu bimā ashraktumūni min qablu inna l‑ẓālimīna lahum ʿadhābun alīmun
And Satan will say when the matter is decided: "It was Allah Who gave you a promise of Truth: I too promised, but I failed in my promise to you. I had no authority over you except to call you but ye listened to me: then reproach not me, but reproach your own souls. I cannot listen to your cries, nor can ye listen to mine. I reject your former act in associating me with Allah. For wrong-doers there must be a grievous penalty."

Surah 16 al-Naḥl (The Bee)
(16:125)

ٱدْعُ  إِلَىٰ  سَبِيلِ  رَبِّكَ  بِٱلْحِكْمَةِ  وَٱلْمَوْعِظَةِ  ٱلْحَسَنَةِ  وَجَٰدِلْهُم  بِٱلَّتِى  هِىَ  أَحْسَنُ  إِنَّ  رَبَّكَ  هُوَ  أَعْلَمُ  بِمَن  ضَلَّ  عَن  سَبِيلِهِۦ  وَهُوَ  أَعْلَمُ  بِٱلْمُهْتَدِينَ idʿu ilā sabīli rabbika bil‑ḥikmati wa‑l‑mawʿiẓati l‑ḥasanati wa‑jādilhum billatī hiya aḥsanu inna rabbaka huwa aʿlamu biman ḍalla ʿan sabīlihi wa‑huwa aʿlamu bil‑muhtadīna
Invite (all) to the Way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious: for thy Lord knoweth best, who have strayed from His Path, and who receive guidance.

Surah 17 al-Isrāʾ (The Children of Israel)
(17:11)

The prayer that man should make for good, he maketh for evil; for man is given to hasty (deeds).
(17:52)

يَوْمَ  يَدْعُوكُمْ  فَتَسْتَجِيبُونَ  بِحَمْدِهِۦ  وَتَظُنُّونَ  إِن  لَّبِثْتُمْ  إِلَّا  قَلِيلًا yawma yadʿūkum fa‑tastajībūna bi‑ḥamdihi wa‑taẓunnūna in llabithtum illā qalīlan
"It will be on a Day when He will call you, and ye will answer (His call) with (words of) His praise, and ye will think that ye tarried but a little while!"

Surah 18 al-Kahf (The Cave)
(18:57)

وَمَنْ  أَظْلَمُ  مِمَّن  ذُكِّرَ  بِـَٔايَٰتِ  رَبِّهِۦ  فَأَعْرَضَ  عَنْهَا  وَنَسِىَ  مَا  قَدَّمَتْ  يَدَاهُ  إِنَّا  جَعَلْنَا  عَلَىٰ  قُلُوبِهِمْ  أَكِنَّةً  أَن  يَفْقَهُوهُ  وَفِىٓ  ءَاذَانِهِمْ  وَقْرًا  وَإِن  تَدْعُهُمْ  إِلَى  ٱلْهُدَىٰ  فَلَن  يَهْتَدُوٓا۟  إِذًا  أَبَدًا wa‑man aẓlamu mimman dhukkira bi‑āyāti rabbihi fa‑aʿraḍa ʿanhā wa‑nasiya qaddamat yadāhu innā jaʿalnā ʿalā qulūbihim akinnatan an yafqahūhu wa‑fī ādhānihim waqran wa‑in tadʿuhum ilā l‑hudā fa‑lan yahtadū idhan abadan
And who doth more wrong than one who is reminded of the Signs of his Lord, but turns away from them, forgetting the (deeds) which his hands have sent forth? Verily We have set veils over their hearts lest they should understand this, and over their ears, deafness, if thou callest them to guidance, even then will they never accept guidance.

Surah 19 Maryam (Mary)
(19:48)

وَأَعْتَزِلُكُمْ  وَمَا  تَدْعُونَ  مِن  دُونِ  ٱللَّـهِ  وَأَدْعُوا۟  رَبِّى  عَسَىٰٓ  أَلَّآ  أَكُونَ  بِدُعَآءِ  رَبِّى  شَقِيًّا wa‑aʿtazilukum wa‑mā tadʿūna min dūni allāhi wa‑adʿū rabbī ʿasā allā akūna biduʿāi rabbī shaqiyyan
"And I will turn away from you (all) and from those whom ye invoke besides Allah: I will call on my Lord: perhaps, by my prayer to my Lord, I shall be not unblest."

Surah 22 al-Ḥajj (The Pilgrimage)
(22:12)

They call on such deities, besides Allah, as can neither hurt nor profit them: that is straying far indeed (from the Way)!
(22:13)

(Perhaps) they call on one whose hurt is nearer than his profit: evil, indeed, is the patron, and evil the companion (or help)!
(22:67)

To every People have We appointed rites and ceremonies which they must follow: let them not then dispute with thee on the matter, but do thou invite (them) to thy Lord: for thou art assuredly on the Right Way.

Surah 23 al-Muʾminūn (The Believers)
(23:73)

But verily thou callest them to the Straight Way;
(23:117)

وَمَن  يَدْعُ  مَعَ  ٱللَّـهِ  إِلَٰهًا  ءَاخَرَ  لَا  بُرْهَٰنَ  لَهُۥ  بِهِۦ  فَإِنَّمَا  حِسَابُهُۥ  عِندَ  رَبِّهِۦٓ  إِنَّهُۥ  لَا  يُفْلِحُ  ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ wa‑man yadʿu maʿa allāhi ilāhan ākhara burhāna lahu bihi fa‑innamā ḥisābuhu ʿinda rabbihi innahu yufliḥu l‑kāfirūna
If anyone invokes, besides Allah, Any other god, he has no authority therefor; and his reckoning will be only with his Lord! and verily the Unbelievers will fail to win through!

Surah 26 al-Shuʿarā (The Poets)
(26:213)

فَلَا  تَدْعُ  مَعَ  ٱللَّـهِ  إِلَٰهًا  ءَاخَرَ  فَتَكُونَ  مِنَ  ٱلْمُعَذَّبِينَ fa‑lā tadʿu maʿa allāhi ilāhan ākhara fa‑takūna mina l‑muʿadhdhabīna
So call not on any other god with Allah, or thou wilt be among those under the Penalty.

Surah 27 al-Naml (The Ant)
(27:62)

أَمَّن  يُجِيبُ  ٱلْمُضْطَرَّ  إِذَا  دَعَاهُ  وَيَكْشِفُ  ٱلسُّوٓءَ  وَيَجْعَلُكُمْ  خُلَفَآءَ  ٱلْأَرْضِ  أَءِلَٰهٌ  مَّعَ  ٱللَّـهِ  قَلِيلًا  مَّا  تَذَكَّرُونَ a‑man yujību l‑muḍṭarra idhā daʿāhu wa‑yakshifu l‑sūa wa‑yajʿalukum khulafāʾa l‑arḍi a‑ilāhun maʿa allāhi qalīlan tadhakkarūna
Or, Who listens to the (soul) distressed when it calls on Him, and Who relieves its suffering, and makes you (mankind) inheritors of the earth? (Can there be another) god besides Allah? Little it is that ye heed!

Surah 28 al-Qaṣaṣ (The Narrative)
(28:25)

Afterwards one of the (damsels) came (back) to him, walking bashfully. She said: "My father invites thee that he may reward thee for having watered (our flocks) for us." So when he came to him and narrated the story, he said: "Fear thou not: (well) hast thou escaped from unjust people."
(28:87)

وَلَا  يَصُدُّنَّكَ  عَنْ  ءَايَٰتِ  ٱللَّـهِ  بَعْدَ  إِذْ  أُنزِلَتْ  إِلَيْكَ  وَٱدْعُ  إِلَىٰ  رَبِّكَ  وَلَا  تَكُونَنَّ  مِنَ  ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ wa‑lā yaṣuddunnaka ʿan āyāti allāhi baʿda idh unzilat ilayka wa‑adʿu ilā rabbika wa‑lā takūnanna mina l‑mushrikīna
And let nothing keep thee back from the Signs of Allah after they have been revealed to thee: and invite (men) to thy Lord, and be not of the company of those who join gods with Allah.
(28:88)

وَلَا  تَدْعُ  مَعَ  ٱللَّـهِ  إِلَٰهًا  ءَاخَرَ  لَآ  إِلَٰهَ  إِلَّا  هُوَ  كُلُّ  شَىْءٍ  هَالِكٌ  إِلَّا  وَجْهَهُۥ  لَهُ  ٱلْحُكْمُ  وَإِلَيْهِ  تُرْجَعُونَ wa‑lā tadʿu maʿa allāhi ilāhan ākhara ilāha illā huwa kullu shayʾin hālikun illā wajhahu lahu l‑ḥukmu wa‑ilayhi turjaʿūna
And call not, besides Allah, on another god. There is no god but He. Everything (that exists) will perish except His own Face. To Him belongs the Command, and to Him will ye (all) be brought back.

Surah 30 al-Rūm (The Romans)
(30:25)

وَمِنْ  ءَايَٰتِهِۦٓ  أَن  تَقُومَ  ٱلسَّمَآءُ  وَٱلْأَرْضُ  بِأَمْرِهِۦ  ثُمَّ  إِذَا  دَعَاكُمْ  دَعْوَةً  مِّنَ  ٱلْأَرْضِ  إِذَآ  أَنتُمْ  تَخْرُجُونَ wa‑min āyātihi an taqūma l‑samāʾu wa‑l‑arḍu bi‑amrihi thumma idhā daʿākum daʿwatan mina l‑arḍi idhā antum takhrujūna
And among His Signs is this, that heaven and earth stand by His Command: then when He calls you, by a single call, from the earth, behold, ye (straightway) come forth.

Surah 31 Luqmān (Lukman)
(31:21)

When they are told to follow the (Revelation) that Allah has sent down, they say: "Nay, we shall follow the ways that we found our fathers (following). "What! even if it is Satan beckoning them to the Penalty of the (Blazing) Fire?

Surah 35 al-Faṭīr (The Creator)
(35:6)

Verily Satan is an enemy to you: so treat him as an enemy. He only invites his adherents, that they may become Companions of the Blazing Fire.
(35:18)

وَلَا  تَزِرُ  وَازِرَةٌ  وِزْرَ  أُخْرَىٰ  وَإِن  تَدْعُ  مُثْقَلَةٌ  إِلَىٰ  حِمْلِهَا  لَا  يُحْمَلْ  مِنْهُ  شَىْءٌ  وَلَوْ  كَانَ  ذَا  قُرْبَىٰٓ  إِنَّمَا  تُنذِرُ  ٱلَّذِينَ  يَخْشَوْنَ  رَبَّهُم  بِٱلْغَيْبِ  وَأَقَامُوا۟  ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ  وَمَن  تَزَكَّىٰ  فَإِنَّمَا  يَتَزَكَّىٰ  لِنَفْسِهِۦ  وَإِلَى  ٱللَّـهِ  ٱلْمَصِيرُ wa‑lā taziru wāziratun wizra ukhrā wa‑in tadʿu muthqalatun ilā ḥimlihā yuḥmal minhu shayʾun wa‑law kāna dhā qurba innamā tundhiru lladhīna yakhshawna rabbahum bil‑ghaybi wa‑aqāmū l‑ṣalāta wa‑man tazakkā fa‑innamā yatazakka li‑nafsihi wa‑ilā allāhi l‑maṣīru
Nor can a bearer of burdens bear another's burdens if one heavily laden should call another to (bear) his load. Not the least portion of it can be carried (by the other). Even though he be nearly related. Thou canst but admonish such as fear their Lord unseen and establish regular Prayer. And whoever purifies himself does so for the benefit of his own soul; and the destination (of all) is to Allah.

Surah 39 al-Zumar (The Companies)
(39:8)

وَإِذَا  مَسَّ  ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ  ضُرٌّ  دَعَا  رَبَّهُۥ  مُنِيبًا  إِلَيْهِ  ثُمَّ  إِذَا  خَوَّلَهُۥ  نِعْمَةً  مِّنْهُ  نَسِىَ  مَا  كَانَ  يَدْعُوٓا۟  إِلَيْهِ  مِن  قَبْلُ  وَجَعَلَ  لِلَّـهِ  أَندَادًا  لِّيُضِلَّ  عَن  سَبِيلِهِۦ  قُلْ  تَمَتَّعْ  بِكُفْرِكَ  قَلِيلًا  إِنَّكَ  مِنْ  أَصْحَٰبِ  ٱلنَّارِ wa‑idhā massa l‑insāna ḍurrun daʿā rabbahu munīban ilayhi thumma idhā khawwalahu niʿmatan minhu nasiya kāna yadʿū ilayhi min qablu wa‑jaʿala lillāhi andādan li‑yuḍilla ʿan sabīlihi qul tamattaʿ bi‑kufrika qalīlan innaka min aṣḥābi l‑nāri
When some trouble toucheth man, he crieth unto his Lord, turning to Him in repentance: but when He bestoweth a favour upon him as from Himself, (man) doth forget what he cried and prayed for before, and he doth set up rivals unto Allah, thus misleading others from Allah's Path. Say, "Enjoy thy blasphemy for a little while: verily thou art (one) of the Companions of the Fire!"
(39:49)

Now, when trouble touches man, he cries to Us: But when We bestow a favour upon him as from Ourselves, he says, "This has been given to me because of a certain knowledge (I have)!" Nay, but this is but a trial, but most of them understand not!

Surah 40 al-Ghāfir (The Forgiving One)
(40:12)

ذَٰلِكُم  بِأَنَّهُۥٓ  إِذَا  دُعِىَ  ٱللَّـهُ  وَحْدَهُۥ  كَفَرْتُمْ  وَإِن  يُشْرَكْ  بِهِۦ  تُؤْمِنُوا۟  فَٱلْحُكْمُ  لِلَّـهِ  ٱلْعَلِىِّ  ٱلْكَبِيرِ dhālikum biannahu idhā duʿiya allāhu waḥdahu kafartum wa‑in yushrak bihi tūʾminū fa‑l‑ḥukmu lillāhi l‑ʿaliyyi l‑kabīri
(The answer will be:) "This is because, when Allah was invoked as the Only (object of worship), ye did reject Faith, but when partners were joined to Him, ye believed! the Command is with Allah, Most High, Most Great!"
(40:26)

وَقَالَ  فِرْعَوْنُ  ذَرُونِىٓ  أَقْتُلْ  مُوسَىٰ  وَلْيَدْعُ  رَبَّهُۥٓ  إِنِّىٓ  أَخَافُ  أَن  يُبَدِّلَ  دِينَكُمْ  أَوْ  أَن  يُظْهِرَ  فِى  ٱلْأَرْضِ  ٱلْفَسَادَ wa‑qāla firʿawun dharūnī aqtul mūsā wa‑l‑yadʿu rabbahu innī akhāfu an yubaddila dīnakum aw an yuẓhira l‑arḍi l‑fasāda
Said Pharaoh: "Leave me to slay Moses; and let him call on his Lord! What I fear is lest he should change your religion, or lest he should cause mischief to appear in the land!"
(40:41)

"And O my people! How (strange) it is for me to call you to Salvation while ye call me to the Fire!
(40:42)

"Ye do call upon me to blaspheme against Allah, and to join with Him partners of whom I have no knowledge; and I call you to the Exalted in Power, Who forgives again and again!"

Surah 41 Fuṣṣilat (Revelations Well Expounded)
(41:5)

وَقَالُوا۟  قُلُوبُنَا  فِىٓ  أَكِنَّةٍ  مِّمَّا  تَدْعُونَآ  إِلَيْهِ  وَفِىٓ  ءَاذَانِنَا  وَقْرٌ  وَمِنۢ  بَيْنِنَا  وَبَيْنِكَ  حِجَابٌ  فَٱعْمَلْ  إِنَّنَا  عَٰمِلُونَ wa‑qālū qulūbunā akinnatin mimmā tadʿūnā ilayhi wa‑fī ādhāninā waqrun wa‑min bayninā wa‑baynika ḥijābun fa‑iʿmal innanā ʿāmilūna
They say: "Our hearts are under veils, (concealed) from that to which thou dost invite us, and in our ears in a deafness, and between us and thee is a screen: so do thou (what thou wilt); for us, we shall do (what we will!)"
(41:33)

وَمَنْ  أَحْسَنُ  قَوْلًا  مِّمَّن  دَعَآ  إِلَى  ٱللَّـهِ  وَعَمِلَ  صَٰلِحًا  وَقَالَ  إِنَّنِى  مِنَ  ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ wa‑man aḥsanu qawlan mimman daʿā ilā allāhi wa‑ʿamila ṣāliḥan wa‑qāla innanī mina l‑muslimīna
Who is better in speech than one who calls (men) to Allah, works righteousness, and says, "I am of those who bow in Islam"?

Surah 42 al-Shūrā (The Counsel)
(42:13)

شَرَعَ  لَكُم  مِّنَ  ٱلدِّينِ  مَا  وَصَّىٰ  بِهِۦ  نُوحًا  وَٱلَّذِىٓ  أَوْحَيْنَآ  إِلَيْكَ  وَمَا  وَصَّيْنَا  بِهِۦٓ  إِبْرَٰهِيمَ  وَمُوسَىٰ  وَعِيسَىٰٓ  أَنْ  أَقِيمُوا۟  ٱلدِّينَ  وَلَا  تَتَفَرَّقُوا۟  فِيهِ  كَبُرَ  عَلَى  ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ  مَا  تَدْعُوهُمْ  إِلَيْهِ  ٱللَّـهُ  يَجْتَبِىٓ  إِلَيْهِ  مَن  يَشَآءُ  وَيَهْدِىٓ  إِلَيْهِ  مَن  يُنِيبُ sharaʿa la‑kum mina l‑dīni waṣṣā bihi nūḥan wa‑alladhī awḥaynā ilayka wa‑mā waṣṣaynā bihi ibrāhīma wa‑mūsa wa‑ʿīsa an aqīmū l‑dīna wa‑lā tatafarraqū fīhi kabura ʿalā l‑mushrikīna tadʿūhum ilayhi allāhu yajtabī ilayhi man yashāʾu wa‑yahdī ilayhi man yunību
The same religion has He established for you as that which He enjoined on Noah - the which We have sent by inspiration to thee - and that which We enjoined on Abraham, Moses, and Jesus: Namely, that ye should remain steadfast in religion, and make no divisions therein: to those who worship other things than Allah, hard is the (way) to which thou callest them. Allah chooses to Himself those whom He pleases, and guides to Himself those who turn (to Him).
(42:15)

فَلِذَٰلِكَ  فَٱدْعُ  وَٱسْتَقِمْ  كَمَآ  أُمِرْتَ  وَلَا  تَتَّبِعْ  أَهْوَآءَهُمْ  وَقُلْ  ءَامَنتُ  بِمَآ  أَنزَلَ  ٱللَّـهُ  مِن  كِتَٰبٍ  وَأُمِرْتُ  لِأَعْدِلَ  بَيْنَكُمُ  ٱللَّـهُ  رَبُّنَا  وَرَبُّكُمْ  لَنَآ  أَعْمَٰلُنَا  وَلَكُمْ  أَعْمَٰلُكُمْ  لَا  حُجَّةَ  بَيْنَنَا  وَبَيْنَكُمُ  ٱللَّـهُ  يَجْمَعُ  بَيْنَنَا  وَإِلَيْهِ  ٱلْمَصِيرُ fa‑li‑dhālika fa‑idʿu wa‑istaqim ka‑mā umirta wa‑lā tattabiʿ ahwāʾahum wa‑qul āmantu bimā anzala allāhu min kitābin wa‑umirtu li‑aʿdila baynakumu allāhu rabbunā wa‑rabbukum lanā aʿmālunā wa‑lakum aʿmālukum ḥujjata baynanā wa‑baynakumu allāhu yajmaʿu baynanā wa‑ilayhi l‑maṣīru
Now then, for that (reason), call (them to the Faith), and stand steadfast as thou art commanded, nor follow thou their vain desires; but say: "I believe in the Book which Allah has sent down; and I am commanded to judge justly between you. Allah is our Lord and your Lord: for us (is the responsibility for) our deeds, and for you for your deeds. There is no contention between us and you. Allah will bring us together, and to Him is (our) Final Goal.

Surah 43 al-Zukhruf (The Embellishment)
(43:49)

And they said, "O thou sorcerer! Invoke thy Lord for us according to His covenant with thee; for we shall truly accept guidance."

Surah 44 al-Dukhān (The Evident Smoke)
(44:22)

فَدَعَا  رَبَّهُۥٓ  أَنَّ  هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ  قَوْمٌ  مُّجْرِمُونَ fa‑daʿā rabbahu annā hāʾulāʾi qawmun mujrimūna
(But they were aggressive:) then he cried to his Lord: "These are indeed a people given to sin."

Surah 45 al-Jāthiyah (The Kneeling)
(45:28)

And thou wilt see every sect bowing the knee: Every sect will be called to its Record: "This Day shall ye be recompensed for all that ye did!
