Surah 7 al-Aʿrāf (The Heights)

(7:137)    | وَأَوْرَثْنَا ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَانُوا۟ يُسْتَضْعَفُونَ مَشَٰرِقَ ٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَغَٰرِبَهَا ٱلَّتِى بَٰرَكْنَا فِيهَا وَتَمَّتْ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ عَلَىٰ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ بِمَا صَبَرُوا۟ وَدَمَّرْنَا مَا كَانَ يَصْنَعُ فِرْعَوْنُ وَقَوْمُهُۥ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْرِشُونَ | wa‑awrathnā l‑qawma lladhīna kānū yustaḍʿafūna mashāriqa l‑arḍi wa‑maghāribahā allatī bāraknā fīhā wa‑tammat kalimatu rabbika l‑ḥusnā ʿalā banī isrāʾīla bi‑mā ṣabarū wa‑dammarnā mā kāna yaṣnaʿu firʿawun wa‑qawmuhu wa‑mā kānū yaʿrishūna | And We made a people, considered weak (and of no account),
inheritors of lands in both east and west, - lands whereon We sent down Our
blessings. The fair promise of thy Lord was fulfilled for the Children of
Israel, because they had patience and constancy, and We levelled to the
ground the great works and fine buildings which Pharaoh and his people
erected (with such pride).
Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:137 وَأَوْرَثْنَا ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَانُوا۟ يُسْتَضْعَفُونَ مَشَٰرِقَ ٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَغَٰرِبَهَا ٱلَّتِى بَٰرَكْنَا فِيهَا وَتَمَّتْ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ عَلَىٰ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ بِمَا صَبَرُوا۟ وَدَمَّرْنَا مَا كَانَ يَصْنَعُ فِرْعَوْنُ وَقَوْمُهُۥ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْرِشُونَ wa-awrathnā l-qawma lladhīna kānū yustaḍʿafūna mashāriqa l-arḍi wa-maghāribahā allatī bāraknā fīhā wa-tammat kalimatu rabbika l-ḥusnā ʿalā banī isrāʾīla bi-mā ṣabarū wa-dammarnā mā kāna yaṣnaʿu firʿawun wa-qawmuhu wa-mā kānū yaʿrishūna And We made a people, considered weak (and of no account), inheritors of lands in both east and west, - lands whereon We sent down Our blessings. Surah 17 al-Isrāʾ (The Children of Israel) | (17:16) | وَإِذَآ أَرَدْنَآ أَن نُّهْلِكَ قَرْيَةً أَمَرْنَا مُتْرَفِيهَا فَفَسَقُوا۟ فِيهَا فَحَقَّ عَلَيْهَا ٱلْقَوْلُ فَدَمَّرْنَٰهَا تَدْمِيرًا | wa‑idhā aradnā an nnuhlika qaryatan amarnā mutrafīhā fa‑fasaqū fīhā fa‑ḥaqqa ʿalayhā l‑qawlu fa‑dammarnāhā tadmīran | When We decide to destroy a population, We (first) send a
definite order to those among them who are given the good things of this
life and yet transgress; so that the word is proved true against them: then
(it is) We destroy them utterly.
Sura al-Isrāʾ 17:16 وَإِذَآ أَرَدْنَآ أَن نُّهْلِكَ قَرْيَةً أَمَرْنَا مُتْرَفِيهَا فَفَسَقُوا۟ فِيهَا فَحَقَّ عَلَيْهَا ٱلْقَوْلُ فَدَمَّرْنَٰهَا تَدْمِيرًا wa-idhā aradnā an nnuhlika qaryatan amarnā mutrafīhā fa-fasaqū fīhā fa-ḥaqqa ʿalayhā l-qawlu fa-dammarnāhā tadmīran When We decide to destroy a population, We (first) send a definite order to those among them who are given the good things of this life and yet transgress; so that the word is proved true against them: then (it is) We destroy them utterly. |
Surah 25 al-Furqān (The Criterion) | (25:36) | فَقُلْنَا ٱذْهَبَآ إِلَى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا فَدَمَّرْنَٰهُمْ تَدْمِيرًا | fa‑qulnā idhhabā ilā l‑qawmi lladhīna kadhdhabū bi‑āyātinā fa‑dammarnāhum tadmīran | And We command: "Go ye both, to the people who have rejected
our Signs:" And those (people) We destroyed with utter destruction.
Sura al-Furqān 25:36 فَقُلْنَا ٱذْهَبَآ إِلَى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا فَدَمَّرْنَٰهُمْ تَدْمِيرًا fa-qulnā idhhabā ilā l-qawmi lladhīna kadhdhabū bi-āyātinā fa-dammarnāhum tadmīran And We command: "Go ye both, to the people who have rejected our Signs:" And those (people) We destroyed with utter destruction. |
Surah 26 al-Shuʿarā (The Poets) | (26:172) | ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا ٱلْءَاخَرِينَ | thumma dammarnā l‑ākharīna | But the rest We destroyed utterly.
Sura al-Shuʿarā 26:172 ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا ٱلْءَاخَرِينَ thumma dammarnā l-ākharīna But the rest We destroyed utterly. |
Surah 27 al-Naml (The Ant) | (27:51) | فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ مَكْرِهِمْ أَنَّا دَمَّرْنَٰهُمْ وَقَوْمَهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ | fa‑inẓur kayfa kāna ʿāqibatu makrihim annā dammarnāhum wa‑qawmahum ajmaʿīna | Then see what was the end of their plot!- this, that We
destroyed them and their people, all (of them).
Sura al-Naml 27:51 فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ مَكْرِهِمْ أَنَّا دَمَّرْنَٰهُمْ وَقَوْمَهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ fa-inẓur kayfa kāna ʿāqibatu makrihim annā dammarnāhum wa-qawmahum ajmaʿīna Then see what was the end of their plot!- this, that We destroyed them and their people, all (of them). |
Surah 37 al-Ṣaffāt (The Rangers) | (37:136) | ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا ٱلْءَاخَرِينَ | thumma dammarnā l‑ākharīna | Then We destroyed the rest.
