Sura al-Baqara 2:17

مَثَلُهُمْ كَمَثَلِ ٱلَّذِى ٱسْتَوْقَدَ نَارًا فَلَمَّآ أَضَآءَتْ مَا حَوْلَهُۥ ذَهَبَ ٱللَّـهُ بِنُورِهِمْ وَتَرَكَهُمْ فِى ظُلُمَٰتٍ لَّا يُبْصِرُونَ

mathaluhum ka-mathali alladhī istawqada nāran fa-lammā aḍāʾat mā ḥawlahu dhahaba allāhu binūrihim wa-tarakahum fī ẓulumātin lā yubṣirūna

Their similitude is that of a man who kindled a fire; when it lighted all around him, Allah took away their light and left them in utter darkness. So they could not see.

Sura al-Baqara 2:20

يَكَادُ ٱلْبَرْقُ يَخْطَفُ أَبْصَٰرَهُمْ كُلَّمَآ أَضَآءَ لَهُم مَّشَوْا۟ فِيهِ وَإِذَآ أَظْلَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ قَامُوا۟ وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّـهُ لَذَهَبَ بِسَمْعِهِمْ وَأَبْصَٰرِهِمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

yakādu l-barqu yakhṭafu abṣārahum kullamā aḍāʾa lahum mashaw fīhi wa-idhā aẓlama ʿalayhim qāmū wa-law shāʾa allāhu la-dhahaba bisamʿihim wa-abṣārihim inna allāha ʿalā kulli shayʾin qadīrun

The lightning all but snatches away their sight; every time the light (Helps) them, they walk therein, and when the darkness grows on them, they stand still. And if Allah willed, He could take away their faculty of hearing and seeing; for Allah hath power over all things.

Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:19

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا يَحِلُّ لَكُمْ أَن تَرِثُوا۟ ٱلنِّسَآءَ كَرْهًا وَلَا تَعْضُلُوهُنَّ لِتَذْهَبُوا۟ بِبَعْضِ مَآ ءَاتَيْتُمُوهُنَّ إِلَّآ أَن يَأْتِينَ بِفَٰحِشَةٍ مُّبَيِّنَةٍ وَعَاشِرُوهُنَّ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ فَإِن كَرِهْتُمُوهُنَّ فَعَسَىٰٓ أَن تَكْرَهُوا۟ شَيْـًٔا وَيَجْعَلَ ٱللَّـهُ فِيهِ خَيْرًا كَثِيرًا

yā-ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū lā yaḥillu la-kum an tarithū l-nisāʾa karhan wa-lā taʿḍulūhunna li-tadhhabū bi-baʿḍi mā ātaytumūhunna illā an yaʾtīna bi-fāḥishatin mubayyinatin waʿāshirūhunna bil-maʿrūfi fa-in karihtumūhunna fa-ʿaṣā an takrahū shayʾan wa-yajʿala allāhu fīhi khayran kathīran

O ye who believe! Ye are forbidden to inherit women against their will. Nor should ye treat them with harshness, that ye may Take away part of the dower ye have given them,-except where they have been guilty of open lewdness; on the contrary live with them on a footing of kindness and equity. If ye take a dislike to them it may be that ye dislike a thing, and Allah brings about through it a great deal of good.

Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:133

إِن يَشَأْ يُذْهِبْكُمْ أَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ وَيَأْتِ بِـَٔاخَرِينَ وَكَانَ ٱللَّـهُ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ قَدِيرًا

in yashaʾ yudhhibkum ayyuhā l-nāsu wa-yaʾti bi-ākharīna wa-kāna allāhu ʿalā dhālika qadīran

If it were His will, He could destroy you, o mankind, and create another race; for He hath power this to do.

Sura al-Māʾidah 5:24

قَالُوا۟ يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّا لَن نَّدْخُلَهَآ أَبَدًا مَّا دَامُوا۟ فِيهَا فَٱذْهَبْ أَنتَ وَرَبُّكَ فَقَٰتِلَآ إِنَّا هَٰهُنَا قَٰعِدُونَ

qālū yā-mūsā innā lan nnadkhulahā abadan mā dāmū fīhā fadhhab anta wa-rabbuka fa-qātilā innā hāhunā qāʿidūna

They said: "O Moses! while they remain there, never shall we be able to enter, to the end of time. Go thou, and thy Lord, and fight ye two, while we sit here (and watch)."

Sura al-Anʿām 6:133

وَرَبُّكَ ٱلْغَنِىُّ ذُو ٱلرَّحْمَةِ إِن يَشَأْ يُذْهِبْكُمْ وَيَسْتَخْلِفْ مِنۢ بَعْدِكُم مَّا يَشَآءُ كَمَآ أَنشَأَكُم مِّن ذُرِّيَّةِ قَوْمٍ ءَاخَرِينَ

wa-rabbuka l-ghaniyyu dhū l-raḥmati in yashaʾ yudhhibkum wa-yastakhlif min baʿdikum mā yashāʾu ka-mā anshaʾakum min dhurriyyatī qawmin ākharīna

Thy Lord is self-sufficient, full of Mercy: if it were His will, He could destroy you, and in your place appoint whom He will as your successors, even as He raised you up from the posterity of other people.

Sura al-Anfāl 8:11

إِذْ يُغَشِّيكُمُ ٱلنُّعَاسَ أَمَنَةً مِّنْهُ وَيُنَزِّلُ عَلَيْكُم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً لِّيُطَهِّرَكُم بِهِۦ وَيُذْهِبَ عَنكُمْ رِجْزَ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ وَلِيَرْبِطَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِكُمْ وَيُثَبِّتَ بِهِ ٱلْأَقْدَامَ

idh yughashshīkumu l-nuʿāsa amanatan minhu wa-yunazzilu ʿalaykum mina l-samāʾi māʾan li-yuṭahhirakum bihi wa-yudhhiba ʿankum rijza l-shayṭāni wa-li-yarbiṭa ʿalā qulūbikum wa-yuthabbita bihi l-aqdāma

Remember He covered you with a sort of drowsiness, to give you calm as from Himself, and he caused rain to descend on you from heaven, to clean you therewith, to remove from you the stain of Satan, to strengthen your hearts, and to plant your feet firmly therewith.

Sura al-Anfāl 8:46

وَأَطِيعُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ وَلَا تَنَٰزَعُوا۟ فَتَفْشَلُوا۟ وَتَذْهَبَ رِيحُكُمْ وَٱصْبِرُوٓا۟ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ مَعَ ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ

wa-aṭīʿū allāha wa-rasūlahu wa-lā tanāzaʿū fa-tafshalū wa-tadhhaba rīḥukum wa-iṣbirū inna allāha maʿa l-ṣābirīna

And obey Allah and His Messenger; and fall into no disputes, lest ye lose heart and your power depart; and be patient and persevering: For Allah is with those who patiently persevere:

Sura al-Tawbah 9:15

وَيُذْهِبْ غَيْظَ قُلُوبِهِمْ وَيَتُوبُ ٱللَّـهُ عَلَىٰ مَن يَشَآءُ وَٱللَّـهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ

wa-yudhhib ghayẓa qulūbihim wa-yatūbu allāhu ʿalā man yashāʾu wallāhu ʿalīmun ḥakīmun

And still the indignation of their hearts. For Allah will turn (in mercy) to whom He will; and Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.

Sura Hūd 11:10

وَلَئِنْ أَذَقْنَٰهُ نَعْمَآءَ بَعْدَ ضَرَّآءَ مَسَّتْهُ لَيَقُولَنَّ ذَهَبَ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتُ عَنِّىٓ إِنَّهُۥ لَفَرِحٌ فَخُورٌ

wa-lain adhaqnāhu naʿmāa baʿda ḍarrāʾa massathu la-yaqūlanna dhahaba l-sayyiʾātu ʿannī innahu lafariḥun fakhūrun

But if We give him a taste of (Our) favours after adversity hath touched him, he is sure to say, "All evil has departed from me:" Behold! he falls into exultation and pride.

Sura Hūd 11:74

فَلَمَّا ذَهَبَ عَنْ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ٱلرَّوْعُ وَجَآءَتْهُ ٱلْبُشْرَىٰ يُجَٰدِلُنَا فِى قَوْمِ لُوطٍ

fa-lammā dhahaba ʿan ibrāhīma l-rawʿu wa-jāathu l-bushrā yujādilunā fī qawmi lūṭin

When fear had passed from (the mind of) Abraham and the glad tidings had reached him, he began to plead with us for Lut's people.

Sura Hūd 11:114

وَأَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ طَرَفَىِ ٱلنَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِّنَ ٱلَّيْلِ إِنَّ ٱلْحَسَنَٰتِ يُذْهِبْنَ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ ذَٰلِكَ ذِكْرَىٰ لِلذَّٰكِرِينَ

wa-aqimi l-ṣalāta ṭarafayi l-nahāri wa-zulafan mina l-layli inna l-ḥasanāti yudhhibna l-sayyiʾāti dhālika dhikra lil-dhākirīna

And establish regular prayers at the two ends of the day and at the approaches of the night: For those things, that are good remove those that are evil: Be that the word of remembrance to those who remember (their Lord):

Sura Yūsuf 12:13

قَالَ إِنِّى لَيَحْزُنُنِىٓ أَن تَذْهَبُوا۟ بِهِۦ وَأَخَافُ أَن يَأْكُلَهُ ٱلذِّئْبُ وَأَنتُمْ عَنْهُ غَٰفِلُونَ

qalā innī layaḥzununī an tadhhabū bihi wa-akhāfu an yakulahu l-dhiʾbu wa-antum ʿanhu ghāfilūna

(Jacob) said: "Really it saddens me that ye should take him away: I fear lest the wolf should devour him while ye attend not to him."

Sura Yūsuf 12:15

فَلَمَّا ذَهَبُوا۟ بِهِۦ وَأَجْمَعُوٓا۟ أَن يَجْعَلُوهُ فِى غَيَٰبَتِ ٱلْجُبِّ وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْهِ لَتُنَبِّئَنَّهُم بِأَمْرِهِمْ هَٰذَا وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ

fa-lammā dhahabū bihi wa-ajmaʿū an yajʿalūhu fī ghayābati l-jubbi wa-awḥaynā ilayhi la-tunabbiʾannahum bi-amrihim hādhā wa-hum lā yashʿurūna

So they did take him away, and they all agreed to throw him down to the bottom of the well: and We put into his heart (this Message): 'Of a surety thou shalt (one day) tell them the truth of this their affair while they know (thee) not'

Sura Yūsuf 12:17

قَالُوا۟ يَٰٓأَبَانَآ إِنَّا ذَهَبْنَا نَسْتَبِقُ وَتَرَكْنَا يُوسُفَ عِندَ مَتَٰعِنَا فَأَكَلَهُ ٱلذِّئْبُ وَمَآ أَنتَ بِمُؤْمِنٍ لَّنَا وَلَوْ كُنَّا صَٰدِقِينَ

qālū yāabānā innā dhahabnā nastabiqu wa-taraknā yūsufa ʿinda matāʿinā fa-akalahu l-dhiʾbu wa-mā anta bimuminin lanā wa-law kunnā ṣādiqīna

They said: "O our father! We went racing with one another, and left Joseph with our things; and the wolf devoured him.... But thou wilt never believe us even though we tell the truth."

Sura Yūsuf 12:87

يَٰبَنِىَّ ٱذْهَبُوا۟ فَتَحَسَّسُوا۟ مِن يُوسُفَ وَأَخِيهِ وَلَا تَا۟يْـَٔسُوا۟ مِن رَّوْحِ ٱللَّـهِ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يَا۟يْـَٔسُ مِن رَّوْحِ ٱللَّـهِ إِلَّا ٱلْقَوْمُ ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ

yā-baniyya idhhabū fa-taḥassasū min yūsufa wa-akhīhi wa-lā tāyasū min rrawḥi allāhi innahu lā yāyasu min rrawḥi allāhi illā l-qawmu l-kāfirūna

"O my sons! go ye and enquire about Joseph and his brother, and never give up hope of Allah's Soothing Mercy: truly no one despairs of Allah's Soothing Mercy, except those who have no faith."

Sura Yūsuf 12:93

ٱذْهَبُوا۟ بِقَمِيصِى هَٰذَا فَأَلْقُوهُ عَلَىٰ وَجْهِ أَبِى يَأْتِ بَصِيرًا وَأْتُونِى بِأَهْلِكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ

idhhabū bi-qamīṣī hādhā fa-alqūhu ʿalā wajhi abī yaʾti baṣīran wa-tūnī biahlikum ajmaʿīna

"Go with this my shirt, and cast it over the face of my father: he will come to see (clearly). Then come ye (here) to me together with all your family."

Sura al-Raʿd 13:17

أَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَسَالَتْ أَوْدِيَةٌۢ بِقَدَرِهَا فَٱحْتَمَلَ ٱلسَّيْلُ زَبَدًا رَّابِيًا وَمِمَّا يُوقِدُونَ عَلَيْهِ فِى ٱلنَّارِ ٱبْتِغَآءَ حِلْيَةٍ أَوْ مَتَٰعٍ زَبَدٌ مِّثْلُهُۥ كَذَٰلِكَ يَضْرِبُ ٱللَّـهُ ٱلْحَقَّ وَٱلْبَٰطِلَ فَأَمَّا ٱلزَّبَدُ فَيَذْهَبُ جُفَآءً وَأَمَّا مَا يَنفَعُ ٱلنَّاسَ فَيَمْكُثُ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ كَذَٰلِكَ يَضْرِبُ ٱللَّـهُ ٱلْأَمْثَالَ

anzala mina l-samāʾi māʾan fa-sālat awdiyatun biqadarihā fa-iḥtamala l-saylu zabadan rrābīan wa-mimmā yūqidūna ʿalayhi fī l-nāri ibtighāʾa ḥilyatin aw matāʿin zabadun mithluhu ka-dhālika yaḍribu allāhu l-ḥaqqa wa-l-bāṭila fa-ammā l-zabadu fa-yadhhabu jufāʾan wa-ammā mā yanfaʿu l-nāsa fa-yamkuthu fī l-arḍi ka-dhālika yaḍribu allāhu l-amthāla

He sends down water from the skies, and the channels flow, each according to its measure: But the torrent bears away to foam that mounts up to the surface. Even so, from that (ore) which they heat in the fire, to make ornaments or utensils therewith, there is a scum likewise. Thus doth Allah (by parables) show forth Truth and Vanity. For the scum disappears like forth cast out; while that which is for the good of mankind remains on the earth. Thus doth Allah set forth parables.

Sura Ibrāhīm 14:19

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ ٱللَّـهَ خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ بِٱلْحَقِّ إِن يَشَأْ يُذْهِبْكُمْ وَيَأْتِ بِخَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ

a-lam tara annā allāha khalaqa l-samāwāti wa-l-arḍa bil-ḥaqqi in yashaʾ yudhhibkum wa-yaʾti bi-khalqin jadīdin

Seest thou not that Allah created the heavens and the earth in Truth? If He so will, He can remove you and put (in your place) a new creation?

Sura al-Isrāʾ 17:63

قَالَ ٱذْهَبْ فَمَن تَبِعَكَ مِنْهُمْ فَإِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ جَزَآؤُكُمْ جَزَآءً مَّوْفُورًا

qalā idhhab fa-man tabiʿaka minhum fa-inna jahannama jazāʾukum jazāʾan mawfūran

(Allah) said: "Go thy way; if any of them follow thee, verily Hell will be the recompense of you (all)- an ample recompense.

Sura al-Isrāʾ 17:86

وَلَئِن شِئْنَا لَنَذْهَبَنَّ بِٱلَّذِىٓ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْكَ ثُمَّ لَا تَجِدُ لَكَ بِهِۦ عَلَيْنَا وَكِيلًا

wa-laʾin shiʾnā lanadhhabanna bi-lladhī awḥaynā ilayka thumma lā tajidu la-ka bihi ʿalaynā wakīlan

If it were Our Will, We could take away that which We have sent thee by inspiration:then wouldst thou find none to plead thy affair in that matter as against Us,-

Sura Ṭā Hā 20:24

ٱذْهَبْ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُۥ طَغَىٰ

idhhab ilā firʿawna innahu ṭaghā

"Go thou to Pharaoh, for he has indeed transgressed all bounds."

Sura Ṭā Hā 20:42

ٱذْهَبْ أَنتَ وَأَخُوكَ بِـَٔايَٰتِى وَلَا تَنِيَا فِى ذِكْرِى

idhhab anta wa-akhūka bi-āyāti wa-lā taniyā fī dhikrī

"Go, thou and thy brother, with My Signs, and slacken not, either of you, in keeping Me in remembrance.

Sura Ṭā Hā 20:43

ٱذْهَبَآ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُۥ طَغَىٰ

idhhabā ilā firʿawna innahu ṭaghā

"Go, both of you, to Pharaoh, for he has indeed transgressed all bounds;

Sura Ṭā Hā 20:63

قَالُوٓا۟ إِنْ هَٰذَٰنِ لَسَٰحِرَٰنِ يُرِيدَانِ أَن يُخْرِجَاكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِكُم بِسِحْرِهِمَا وَيَذْهَبَا بِطَرِيقَتِكُمُ ٱلْمُثْلَىٰ

qālū in hādhāni la-sāḥirāni yurīdāni an yukhrijākum min arḍikum bi-siḥrihimā wa-yadhhabā bi-ṭarīqatikumu l-muthlā

They said: "These two are certainly (expert) magicians: their object is to drive you out from your land with their magic, and to do away with your most cherished institutions.

Sura Ṭā Hā 20:97

قَالَ فَٱذْهَبْ فَإِنَّ لَكَ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ أَن تَقُولَ لَا مِسَاسَ وَإِنَّ لَكَ مَوْعِدًا لَّن تُخْلَفَهُۥ وَٱنظُرْ إِلَىٰٓ إِلَٰهِكَ ٱلَّذِى ظَلْتَ عَلَيْهِ عَاكِفًا لَّنُحَرِّقَنَّهُۥ ثُمَّ لَنَنسِفَنَّهُۥ فِى ٱلْيَمِّ نَسْفًا

qalā fadhhab fa-inna la-ka fī l-ḥayāti an taqūla lā misāsa wa-inna la-ka mawʿidan lan tukhlafahu wa-unẓur ila ilāhika alladhī ẓalta ʿalayhi ʿākifan la-nuḥarriqannahu thumma la-nansifannahu fī l-yammi nasfan

(Moses) said: "Get thee gone! but thy (punishment) in this life will be that thou wilt say, 'touch me not'; and moreover (for a future penalty) thou hast a promise that will not fail: Now look at thy god, of whom thou hast become a devoted worshipper: We will certainly (melt) it in a blazing fire and scatter it broadcast in the sea!"

Sura al-Anbiyāʾ 21:87

وَذَا ٱلنُّونِ إِذ ذَّهَبَ مُغَٰضِبًا فَظَنَّ أَن لَّن نَّقْدِرَ عَلَيْهِ فَنَادَىٰ فِى ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ أَن لَّآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنتَ سُبْحَٰنَكَ إِنِّى كُنتُ مِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

wa-dhā l-nūni idh dhdhahaba mughāḍiban fa-ẓanna an lan nnaqdira ʿalayhi fanāda fī l-ẓulumāti an lā ilāha illā anta subḥānaka innī kuntu mina l-ẓālimīna

And remember Zun-nun, when he departed in wrath: He imagined that We had no power over him! But he cried through the depths of darkness, "There is no god but thou: glory to thee: I was indeed wrong!"

Sura al-Ḥajj 22:15

مَن كَانَ يَظُنُّ أَن لَّن يَنصُرَهُ ٱللَّـهُ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْأَخِرَةِ فَلْيَمْدُدْ بِسَبَبٍ إِلَى ٱلسَّمَآءِ ثُمَّ لْيَقْطَعْ فَلْيَنظُرْ هَلْ يُذْهِبَنَّ كَيْدُهُۥ مَا يَغِيظُ

man kāna yaẓunnu an lan yanṣurahu allāhu fī l-dunyā wa-l-akhirati fa-l-yamdud bi-sababin ilā l-samāʾi thumma l-yaqṭaʿ falyanẓur hal yudhhibanna kayduhu mā yaghīẓu

If any think that Allah will not help him (His Messenger) in this world and the Hereafter, let him stretch out a rope to the ceiling and cut (himself) off: then let him see whether his plan will remove that which enrages (him)!

Sura al-Muʾminūn 23:91

مَا ٱتَّخَذَ ٱللَّـهُ مِن وَلَدٍ وَمَا كَانَ مَعَهُۥ مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ إِذًا لَّذَهَبَ كُلُّ إِلَٰهٍۭ بِمَا خَلَقَ وَلَعَلَا بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ سُبْحَٰنَ ٱللَّـهِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ

mā ittakhadha allāhu min waladin wa-mā kāna maʿahu min ilāhin idhan lladhahaba kullu ilāhin bi-mā khalaqa wa-laʿalā baʿḍuhum ʿalā baʿḍin subḥāna allāhi ʿammā yaṣifūna

No son did Allah beget, nor is there any god along with Him: (if there were many gods), behold, each god would have taken away what he had created, and some would have lorded it over others! Glory to Allah! (He is free) from the (sort of) things they attribute to Him!

Sura al-Nūr 24:43

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ ٱللَّـهَ يُزْجِى سَحَابًا ثُمَّ يُؤَلِّفُ بَيْنَهُۥ ثُمَّ يَجْعَلُهُۥ رُكَامًا فَتَرَى ٱلْوَدْقَ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ خِلَٰلِهِۦ وَيُنَزِّلُ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مِن جِبَالٍ فِيهَا مِنۢ بَرَدٍ فَيُصِيبُ بِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَصْرِفُهُۥ عَن مَّن يَشَآءُ يَكَادُ سَنَا بَرْقِهِۦ يَذْهَبُ بِٱلْأَبْصَٰرِ

a-lam tara annā allāha yuzjī saḥāban thumma yuʾallifu baynahu thumma yajʿaluhu rukāman fatarā l-wadqa yakhruju min khilālihi wa-yunazzilu mina l-samāʾi min jibālin fīhā min baradin fa-yuṣību bihi man yashāʾu wa-yaṣrifuhu ʿan man yashāʾu yakādu sanā barqihi yadhhabu bil-abṣāri

Seest thou not that Allah makes the clouds move gently, then joins them together, then makes them into a heap? - then wilt thou see rain issue forth from their midst. And He sends down from the sky mountain masses (of clouds) wherein is hail: He strikes therewith whom He pleases and He turns it away from whom He pleases, the vivid flash of His lightning well-nigh blinds the sight.

Sura al-Nūr 24:62

إِنَّمَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِٱللَّـهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ وَإِذَا كَانُوا۟ مَعَهُۥ عَلَىٰٓ أَمْرٍ جَامِعٍ لَّمْ يَذْهَبُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ يَسْتَـْٔذِنُوهُ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَسْتَـْٔذِنُونَكَ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّـهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ فَإِذَا ٱسْتَـْٔذَنُوكَ لِبَعْضِ شَأْنِهِمْ فَأْذَن لِّمَن شِئْتَ مِنْهُمْ وَٱسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمُ ٱللَّـهَ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ

innamā l-muʾminūna lladhīna āmanū billāhi wa-rasūlihi wa-idhā kānū maʿahu ʿala amrin jāmiʿin lam yadhhabū ḥattā yastadhinūhu inna lladhīna yastaʾdhinūnaka ulāʾika lladhīna yuʾminūna billāhi wa-rasūlihi fa-idhā stadhanūka libaʿḍi shanihim fadhan lliman shiʾta minhum wa-istaghfir lahumu allāha inna allāha ghafūrun raḥīmun

Only those are believers, who believe in Allah and His Messenger: when they are with him on a matter requiring collective action, they do not depart until they have asked for his leave; those who ask for thy leave are those who believe in Allah and His Messenger; so when they ask for thy leave, for some business of theirs, give leave to those of them whom thou wilt, and ask Allah for their forgiveness: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Sura al-Furqān 25:36

فَقُلْنَا ٱذْهَبَآ إِلَى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا فَدَمَّرْنَٰهُمْ تَدْمِيرًا

fa-qulnā idhhabā ilā l-qawmi lladhīna kadhdhabū bi-āyātinā fa-dammarnāhum tadmīran

And We command: "Go ye both, to the people who have rejected our Signs:" And those (people) We destroyed with utter destruction.

Sura al-Shuʿarā 26:15

قَالَ كَلَّا فَٱذْهَبَا بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ إِنَّا مَعَكُم مُّسْتَمِعُونَ

qalā kallā fa-idhhabā bi-āyātinā innā maʿakum mustamiʿūna

Allah said: "By no means! proceed then, both of you, with Our Signs; We are with you, and will listen (to your call).

Sura al-Naml 27:28

ٱذْهَب بِّكِتَٰبِى هَٰذَا فَأَلْقِهْ إِلَيْهِمْ ثُمَّ تَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ فَٱنظُرْ مَاذَا يَرْجِعُونَ

idhhab bi-kitābī hādhā fa-alqih ilayhim thumma tawalla ʿanhum fa-anẓur mādhā yarjiʿūna

"Go thou, with this letter of mine, and deliver it to them: then draw back from them, and (wait to) see what answer they return"...

Sura al-Aḥzāb 33:19

أَشِحَّةً عَلَيْكُمْ فَإِذَا جَآءَ ٱلْخَوْفُ رَأَيْتَهُمْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَيْكَ تَدُورُ أَعْيُنُهُمْ كَٱلَّذِى يُغْشَىٰ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ ٱلْمَوْتِ فَإِذَا ذَهَبَ ٱلْخَوْفُ سَلَقُوكُم بِأَلْسِنَةٍ حِدَادٍ أَشِحَّةً عَلَى ٱلْخَيْرِ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَمْ يُؤْمِنُوا۟ فَأَحْبَطَ ٱللَّـهُ أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ وَكَانَ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱللَّـهِ يَسِيرًا

asḥiḥḥatan ʿalaykum fa-idhā jāa l-khawfu raʾaytahum yanẓurūna ilayka tadūru aʿyunuhum ka-lladhī yughsha ʿalayhi mina l-mawti fa-idhā dhahaba l-khawfu salaqūkum bi-alsinatin ḥidādin asḥiḥḥatan ʿalā l-khayri ulāʾika lam yuʾminū fa-aḥbaṭa allāhu aʿmālahum wa-kāna dhālika ʿalā allāhi yasīran

Covetous over you. Then when fear comes, thou wilt see them looking to thee, their eyes revolving, like (those of) one over whom hovers death: but when the fear is past, they will smite you with sharp tongues, covetous of goods. Such men have no faith, and so Allah has made their deeds of none effect: and that is easy for Allah.

Sura al-Aḥzāb 33:20

يَحْسَبُونَ ٱلْأَحْزَابَ لَمْ يَذْهَبُوا۟ وَإِن يَأْتِ ٱلْأَحْزَابُ يَوَدُّوا۟ لَوْ أَنَّهُم بَادُونَ فِى ٱلْأَعْرَابِ يَسْـَٔلُونَ عَنْ أَنۢبَآئِكُمْ وَلَوْ كَانُوا۟ فِيكُم مَّا قَٰتَلُوٓا۟ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا

yaḥsabūna l-aḥzāba lam yadhhabū wa-in yaʾti l-aḥzābu yawaddū law annahum bādūna fī l-aʿrābi yasʾalūna ʿan anbāʾikum wa-law kānū fīkum mā qātalū illā qalīlan

They think that the Confederates have not withdrawn; and if the Confederates should come (again), they would wish they were in the deserts (wandering) among the Bedouins, and seeking news about you (from a safe distance); and if they were in your midst, they would fight but little.

Sura al-Aḥzāb 33:33

وَقَرْنَ فِى بُيُوتِكُنَّ وَلَا تَبَرَّجْنَ تَبَرُّجَ ٱلْجَٰهِلِيَّةِ ٱلْأُولَىٰ وَأَقِمْنَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتِينَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَأَطِعْنَ ٱللَّـهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥٓ إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ ٱللَّـهُ لِيُذْهِبَ عَنكُمُ ٱلرِّجْسَ أَهْلَ ٱلْبَيْتِ وَيُطَهِّرَكُمْ تَطْهِيرًا

wa-qarna fī buyūtikunna wa-lā tabarrajna tabarruja l-jāhiliyyati l-ūlā wa-aqimna l-ṣalāta wa-ātīna l-zakāta wa-aṭiʿna allāha wa-rasūlahu innamā yurīdu allāhu li-yudhhiba ʿankumu l-rijsa ahla l-bayti wa-yuṭahhirakum taṭhīran

And stay quietly in your houses, and make not a dazzling display, like that of the former Times of Ignorance; and establish regular Prayer, and give regular Charity; and obey Allah and His Messenger. And Allah only wishes to remove all abomination from you, ye members of the Family, and to make you pure and spotless.

Sura al-Faṭīr 35:8

أَفَمَن زُيِّنَ لَهُۥ سُوٓءُ عَمَلِهِۦ فَرَءَاهُ حَسَنًا فَإِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ يُضِلُّ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَهْدِى مَن يَشَآءُ فَلَا تَذْهَبْ نَفْسُكَ عَلَيْهِمْ حَسَرَٰتٍ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ عَلِيمٌۢ بِمَا يَصْنَعُونَ

a-fa-man zuyyina lahu sūu ʿamalihi fa-raʾāhu ḥasanan fa-inna allāha yuḍillu man yashāʾu wa-yahdī man yashāʾu fa-lā tadhhab nafsuka ʿalayhim ḥasarātin inna allāha ʿalīmun bi-mā yaṣnaʿūna

Is he, then, to whom the evil of his conduct is made alluring, so that he looks upon it as good, (equal to one who is rightly guided)? For Allah leaves to stray whom He wills, and guides whom He wills. So let not thy soul go out in (vainly) sighing after them: for Allah knows well all that they do!

Sura al-Faṭīr 35:16

إِن يَشَأْ يُذْهِبْكُمْ وَيَأْتِ بِخَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ

in yashaʾ yudhhibkum wa-yaʾti bi-khalqin jadīdin

If He so pleased, He could blot you out and bring in a New Creation.

Sura al-Faṭīr 35:34

وَقَالُوا۟ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّـهِ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَذْهَبَ عَنَّا ٱلْحَزَنَ إِنَّ رَبَّنَا لَغَفُورٌ شَكُورٌ

wa-qālū l-ḥamdu lillāhi alladhī adhhaba ʿannā l-ḥazana inna rabbanā la-ghafūrun shakūrun

And they will say: "Praise be to Allah, Who has removed from us (all) sorrow: for our Lord is indeed Oft-Forgiving Ready to appreciate (service):

Sura al-Zukhruf 43:41

فَإِمَّا نَذْهَبَنَّ بِكَ فَإِنَّا مِنْهُم مُّنتَقِمُونَ

fa-immā nadhhabanna bika fa-innā minhum muntaqimūna

Even if We take thee away, We shall be sure to exact retribution from them,

Sura al-Aḥqāf 46:20

وَيَوْمَ يُعْرَضُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ أَذْهَبْتُمْ طَيِّبَٰتِكُمْ فِى حَيَاتِكُمُ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱسْتَمْتَعْتُم بِهَا فَٱلْيَوْمَ تُجْزَوْنَ عَذَابَ ٱلْهُونِ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَسْتَكْبِرُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ ٱلْحَقِّ وَبِمَا كُنتُمْ تَفْسُقُونَ

wa-yawma yuʿraḍu lladhīna kafarū ʿalā l-nāri adhhabtum ṭayyibātikum fī ḥayātikumu l-dunyā wa-istamtaʿtum bihā fa-l-yawma tujzawna ʿadhāba l-hūni bi-mā kuntum tastakbirūna fī l-arḍi bi-ghayri l-ḥaqqi wa-bimā kuntum tafsuqūna

And on the Day that the Unbelievers will be placed before the Fire, (It will be said to them): "Ye received your good things in the life of the world, and ye took your pleasure out of them: but today shall ye be recompensed with a Penalty of humiliation: for that ye were arrogant on earth without just cause, and that ye (ever) transgressed."

Sura al-Mumtaḥanah 60:11

وَإِن فَاتَكُمْ شَىْءٌ مِّنْ أَزْوَٰجِكُمْ إِلَى ٱلْكُفَّارِ فَعَاقَبْتُمْ فَـَٔاتُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ ذَهَبَتْ أَزْوَٰجُهُم مِّثْلَ مَآ أَنفَقُوا۟ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنتُم بِهِۦ مُؤْمِنُونَ

wa-in fātakum shayʾun min azwājikum ilā l-kuffāri fa-ʿāqabtum fa-ātū lladhīna dhahabat azwājuhum mithla mā anfaqū wattaqū allāha alladhī antum bihi muʾminūna

And if any of your wives deserts you to the Unbelievers, and ye have an accession (by the coming over of a woman from the other side), then pay to those whose wives have deserted the equivalent of what they had spent (on their dower). And fear Allah, in Whom ye believe.

Sura al-Qiyāmah 75:33

ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ يَتَمَطَّىٰٓ

thumma dhahaba ila ahlihi yatamaṭṭā

Then did he stalk to his family in full conceit!

Sura al-Nāziʿāt 79:17

ٱذْهَبْ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُۥ طَغَىٰ

idhhab ilā firʿawna innahu ṭaghā

"Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds:

Sura al-Takwīr 81:26

فَأَيْنَ تَذْهَبُونَ

faayna tadhhabūna

When whither go ye?
