Surah 2 al-Baqara (The Cow)

(2:59)

فَبَدَّلَ  ٱلَّذِينَ  ظَلَمُوا۟  قَوْلًا  غَيْرَ  ٱلَّذِى  قِيلَ  لَهُمْ  فَأَنزَلْنَا  عَلَى  ٱلَّذِينَ  ظَلَمُوا۟  رِجْزًا  مِّنَ  ٱلسَّمَآءِ  بِمَا  كَانُوا۟  يَفْسُقُونَ fa‑baddala lladhīna ẓalamū qawlan ghayra alladhī qīla lahum fa‑anzalnā ʿalā lladhīna ẓalamū rijzan mina l‑samāʾi bi‑mā kānū yafsuqūna
But the transgressors changed the word from that which had been given them; so We sent on the transgressors a plague from heaven, for that they infringed (Our command) repeatedly.

Surah 7 al-Aʿrāf (The Heights)
(7:134)

وَلَمَّا  وَقَعَ  عَلَيْهِمُ  ٱلرِّجْزُ  قَالُوا۟  يَٰمُوسَى  ٱدْعُ  لَنَا  رَبَّكَ  بِمَا  عَهِدَ  عِندَكَ  لَئِن  كَشَفْتَ  عَنَّا  ٱلرِّجْزَ  لَنُؤْمِنَنَّ  لَكَ  وَلَنُرْسِلَنَّ  مَعَكَ  بَنِىٓ  إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ wa‑lammā waqaʿa ʿalayhimu l‑rijzu qālū yā‑musā idʿu la‑nā rabbaka bi‑mā ʿahida ʿindaka lain kashafta ʿannā l‑rijza la‑nuʾminanna la‑ka wa‑la‑nursilanna maʿaka banī isrāʾīla
Every time the penalty fell on them, they said: "O Moses! on your behalf call on thy Lord in virtue of his promise to thee: If thou wilt remove the penalty from us, we shall truly believe in thee, and we shall send away the Children of Israel with thee."
(7:135)

فَلَمَّا  كَشَفْنَا  عَنْهُمُ  ٱلرِّجْزَ  إِلَىٰٓ  أَجَلٍ  هُم  بَٰلِغُوهُ  إِذَا  هُمْ  يَنكُثُونَ fa‑lammā kashafnā ʿanhumu l‑rijza ila ajalin hum bālighūhu idhā hum yankuthūna
But every time We removed the penalty from them according to a fixed term which they had to fulfil,- Behold! they broke their word!
(7:162)

فَبَدَّلَ  ٱلَّذِينَ  ظَلَمُوا۟  مِنْهُمْ  قَوْلًا  غَيْرَ  ٱلَّذِى  قِيلَ  لَهُمْ  فَأَرْسَلْنَا  عَلَيْهِمْ  رِجْزًا  مِّنَ  ٱلسَّمَآءِ  بِمَا  كَانُوا۟  يَظْلِمُونَ fa‑baddala lladhīna ẓalamū minhum qawlan ghayra alladhī qīla lahum fa‑arsalnā ʿalayhim rijzan mina l‑samāʾi bi‑mā kānū yaẓlimūna
But the transgressors among them changed the word from that which had been given them so we sent on them a plague from heaven. For that they repeatedly transgressed.

Surah 8 al-Anfāl (The Spoils of War)
(8:11)

إِذْ  يُغَشِّيكُمُ  ٱلنُّعَاسَ  أَمَنَةً  مِّنْهُ  وَيُنَزِّلُ  عَلَيْكُم  مِّنَ  ٱلسَّمَآءِ  مَآءً  لِّيُطَهِّرَكُم  بِهِۦ  وَيُذْهِبَ  عَنكُمْ  رِجْزَ  ٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ  وَلِيَرْبِطَ  عَلَىٰ  قُلُوبِكُمْ  وَيُثَبِّتَ  بِهِ  ٱلْأَقْدَامَ idh yughashshīkumu l‑nuʿāsa amanatan minhu wa‑yunazzilu ʿalaykum mina l‑samāʾi māʾan li‑yuṭahhirakum bihi wa‑yudhhiba ʿankum rijza l‑shayṭāni wa‑li‑yarbiṭa ʿalā qulūbikum wa‑yuthabbita bihi l‑aqdāma
Remember He covered you with a sort of drowsiness, to give you calm as from Himself, and he caused rain to descend on you from heaven, to clean you therewith, to remove from you the stain of Satan, to strengthen your hearts, and to plant your feet firmly therewith.

Surah 29 al-ʿAnkabūt (The Spider)
(29:34)

إِنَّا  مُنزِلُونَ  عَلَىٰٓ  أَهْلِ  هَٰذِهِ  ٱلْقَرْيَةِ  رِجْزًا  مِّنَ  ٱلسَّمَآءِ  بِمَا  كَانُوا۟  يَفْسُقُونَ innā munzilūna ʿala ahli hādhihi l‑qaryati rijzan mina l‑samāʾi bi‑mā kānū yafsuqūna
"For we are going to bring down on the people of this township a Punishment from heaven, because they have been wickedly rebellious."

Surah 34 Sabaʾ (Sheba)
(34:5)

وَٱلَّذِينَ  سَعَوْ  فِىٓ  ءَايَٰتِنَا  مُعَٰجِزِينَ  أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ  لَهُمْ  عَذَابٌ  مِّن  رِّجْزٍ  أَلِيمٌ wa‑lladhīna saʿaw āyātinā muʿājizīna ulāʾika lahum ʿadhābun min rijzin alīmun
But those who strive against Our Signs, to frustrate them,- for such will be a Penalty,- a Punishment most humiliating.

Surah 45 al-Jāthiyah (The Kneeling)
(45:11)

هَٰذَا  هُدًى  وَٱلَّذِينَ  كَفَرُوا۟  بِـَٔايَٰتِ  رَبِّهِمْ  لَهُمْ  عَذَابٌ  مِّن  رِّجْزٍ  أَلِيمٌ hādhā hudan wa‑lladhīna kafarū bi‑āyāti rabbihim lahum ʿadhābun min rijzin alīmun
This is (true) Guidance and for those who reject the Signs of their Lord, is a grievous Penalty of abomination.

Surah 74 al-Muddaththir (The Clothed One)
(74:5)

وَٱلرُّجْزَ  فَٱهْجُرْ wa‑l‑rujza fa‑ihjur
And all abomination shun!
