How can ye reject the faith in Allah?- seeing that ye were without life, and He gave you life; then will He cause you to die, and will again bring you to life; and again to Him will ye return.
(2:196)

وَأَتِمُّوا۟  ٱلْحَجَّ  وَٱلْعُمْرَةَ  لِلَّـهِ  فَإِنْ  أُحْصِرْتُمْ  فَمَا  ٱسْتَيْسَرَ  مِنَ  ٱلْهَدْىِ  وَلَا  تَحْلِقُوا۟  رُءُوسَكُمْ  حَتَّىٰ  يَبْلُغَ  ٱلْهَدْىُ  مَحِلَّهُۥ  فَمَن  كَانَ  مِنكُم  مَّرِيضًا  أَوْ  بِهِۦٓ  أَذًى  مِّن  رَّأْسِهِۦ  فَفِدْيَةٌ  مِّن  صِيَامٍ  أَوْ  صَدَقَةٍ  أَوْ  نُسُكٍ  فَإِذَآ  أَمِنتُمْ  فَمَن  تَمَتَّعَ  بِٱلْعُمْرَةِ  إِلَى  ٱلْحَجِّ  فَمَا  ٱسْتَيْسَرَ  مِنَ  ٱلْهَدْىِ  فَمَن  لَّمْ  يَجِدْ  فَصِيَامُ  ثَلَٰثَةِ  أَيَّامٍ  فِى  ٱلْحَجِّ  وَسَبْعَةٍ  إِذَا  رَجَعْتُمْ  تِلْكَ  عَشَرَةٌ  كَامِلَةٌ  ذَٰلِكَ  لِمَن  لَّمْ  يَكُنْ  أَهْلُهُۥ  حَاضِرِى  ٱلْمَسْجِدِ  ٱلْحَرَامِ  وَٱتَّقُوا۟  ٱللَّـهَ  وَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟  أَنَّ  ٱللَّـهَ  شَدِيدُ  ٱلْعِقَابِ wa‑atimmū l‑ḥajja wa‑l‑ʿumrata lillāhi fa‑in uḥṣirtum fa‑mā staysara mina l‑hadi wa‑lā taḥliqū ruʾūsakum ḥattā yablugha l‑hadu maḥillahu fa‑man kāna minkum marīḍan aw bihi adhan min rrasihi fa‑fidyatun min ṣiyāmin aw ṣadaqatin aw nusukin fa‑idhā amintum fa‑man tamattaʿa bil‑ʿumrati ilā l‑ḥajji fa‑mā staysara mina l‑hadi fa‑man lam yajid fa‑ṣiyāmu thalāthati ayyāmin l‑ḥajji wa‑sabʿatin idhā rajaʿtum tilka ʿasharatun kāmilatun dhālika li‑man lam yakun ahluhu ḥāḍirī l‑masjidi l‑ḥarāmi wattaqū allāha wa‑iʿlamū annā allāha shadīdu l‑ʿiqābi
And complete the Hajj or 'umra in the service of Allah. But if ye are prevented (From completing it), send an offering for sacrifice, such as ye may find, and do not shave your heads until the offering reaches the place of sacrifice. And if any of you is ill, or has an ailment in his scalp, (Necessitating shaving), (He should) in compensation either fast, or feed the poor, or offer sacrifice; and when ye are in peaceful conditions (again), if any one wishes to continue the 'umra on to the hajj, He must make an offering, such as he can afford, but if he cannot afford it, He should fast three days during the hajj and seven days on his return, Making ten days in all. This is for those whose household is not in (the precincts of) the Sacred Mosque. And fear Allah, and know that Allah Is strict in punishment.
(2:230)

فَإِن  طَلَّقَهَا  فَلَا  تَحِلُّ  لَهُۥ  مِنۢ  بَعْدُ  حَتَّىٰ  تَنكِحَ  زَوْجًا  غَيْرَهُۥ  فَإِن  طَلَّقَهَا  فَلَا  جُنَاحَ  عَلَيْهِمَآ  أَن  يَتَرَاجَعَآ  إِن  ظَنَّآ  أَن  يُقِيمَا  حُدُودَ  ٱللَّـهِ  وَتِلْكَ  حُدُودُ  ٱللَّـهِ  يُبَيِّنُهَا  لِقَوْمٍ  يَعْلَمُونَ fa‑in ṭallaqahā fa‑lā taḥillu lahu min baʿdu ḥattā tankiḥa zawjan ghayrahu fa‑in ṭallaqahā fa‑lā junāḥa ʿalayhimā an yatarājaʿā in ẓannā an yuqīmā ḥudūda allāhi wa‑tilka ḥudūdu allāhi yubayyinuhā li‑qawmin yaʿlamūna
So if a husband divorces his wife (irrevocably), He cannot, after that, re-marry her until after she has married another husband and He has divorced her. In that case there is no blame on either of them if they re-unite, provided they feel that they can keep the limits ordained by Allah. Such are the limits ordained by Allah, which He makes plain to those who understand.
(2:245)

مَّن  ذَا  ٱلَّذِى  يُقْرِضُ  ٱللَّـهَ  قَرْضًا  حَسَنًا  فَيُضَٰعِفَهُۥ  لَهُۥٓ  أَضْعَافًا  كَثِيرَةً  وَٱللَّـهُ  يَقْبِضُ  وَيَبْصُۜطُ  وَإِلَيْهِ  تُرْجَعُونَ man dhā alladhī yuqriḍu allāha qarḍan ḥasanan fayuḍāʿifahu lahu aḍʿāfan kathīratan wallāhu yaqbiḍu wa‑yabṣuṭu wa‑ilayhi turjaʿūna

(2:281)

Surah 6 al-Anʿām (The Cattle)
(6:36)

وَلَمَّا  رَجَعَ  مُوسَىٰٓ  إِلَىٰ  قَوْمِهِۦ  غَضْبَٰنَ  أَسِفًا  قَالَ  بِئْسَمَا  خَلَفْتُمُونِى  مِنۢ  بَعْدِىٓ  أَعَجِلْتُمْ  أَمْرَ  رَبِّكُمْ  وَأَلْقَى  ٱلْأَلْوَاحَ  وَأَخَذَ  بِرَأْسِ  أَخِيهِ  يَجُرُّهُۥٓ  إِلَيْهِ  قَالَ  ٱبْنَ  أُمَّ  إِنَّ  ٱلْقَوْمَ  ٱسْتَضْعَفُونِى  وَكَادُوا۟  يَقْتُلُونَنِى  فَلَا  تُشْمِتْ  بِىَ  ٱلْأَعْدَآءَ  وَلَا  تَجْعَلْنِى  مَعَ  ٱلْقَوْمِ  ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ wa‑lammā rajaʿa mūsā ilā qawmihi ghaḍbāna asifan qalā biʾsamā khalaftumūnī min baʿdī aʿajiltum amra rabbikum wa‑alqa l‑alwāḥa wa‑akhadha bi‑raʾsi akhīhi yajurruhu ilayhi qalā ibna umma inna l‑qawma istaḍʿafūnī wa‑kādū yaqtulūnanī fa‑lā tushmit biya l‑aʿdāʾa wa‑lā tajʿalnī maʿa l‑qawmi l‑ẓālimīna
When Moses came back to his people, angry and grieved, he said: "Evil it is that ye have done in my place in my absence: did ye make haste to bring on the judgment of your Lord?" He put down the tablets, seized his brother by (the hair of) his head, and dragged him to him. Aaron said: "Son of my mother! the people did indeed reckon me as naught, and went near to slaying me! Make not the enemies rejoice over my misfortune, nor count thou me amongst the people of sin."
(7:168)

We broke them up into sections on this earth. There are among them some that are the righteous, and some that are the opposite. We have tried them with both prosperity and adversity: In order that they might turn (to us).
(7:174)

وَكَذَٰلِكَ  نُفَصِّلُ  ٱلْأَيَٰتِ  وَلَعَلَّهُمْ  يَرْجِعُونَ wa‑ka‑dhālika nufaṣṣilu l‑ayāti walaʿallahum yarjiʿūna

If, then, Allah bring thee back to any of them, and they ask thy permission to come out (with thee), say: "Never shall ye come out with me, nor fight an enemy with me: for ye preferred to sit inactive on the first occasion: Then sit ye (now) with those who lag behind."
(9:94)

They will present their excuses to you when ye return to them. Say thou: "Present no excuses: we shall not believe you: Allah hath already informed us of the true state of matters concerning you: It is your actions that Allah and His Messenger will observe: in the end will ye be brought back to Him Who knoweth what is hidden and what is open: then will He show you the truth of all that ye did."
(9:122)

Nor should the Believers all go forth together: if a contingent from every expedition remained behind, they could devote themselves to studies in religion, and admonish the people when they return to them,- that thus they (may learn) to guard themselves (against evil).

Surah 10 Yūnus (Jonah)
(10:56)

It is He Who giveth life and who taketh it, and to Him shall ye all be brought back.

Surah 11 Hūd (Hud)
(11:34)

وَلَا  يَنفَعُكُمْ  نُصْحِىٓ  إِنْ  أَرَدتُّ  أَنْ  أَنصَحَ  لَكُمْ  إِن  كَانَ  ٱللَّـهُ  يُرِيدُ  أَن  يُغْوِيَكُمْ  هُوَ  رَبُّكُمْ  وَإِلَيْهِ  تُرْجَعُونَ wa‑lā yanfaʿukum nuṣḥī in aradttu an anṣaḥa la‑kum in kāna allāhu yurīdu an yughwiyakum huwa rabbukum wa‑ilayhi turjaʿūna
"Of no profit will be my counsel to you, much as I desire to give you (good) counsel, if it be that Allah willeth to leave you astray: He is your Lord! and to Him will ye return!"
(11:123)

وَلِلَّەِ  غَيْبُ  ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ  وَٱلْأَرْضِ  وَإِلَيْهِ  يُرْجَعُ  ٱلْأَمْرُ  كُلُّهُۥ  فَٱعْبُدْهُ  وَتَوَكَّلْ  عَلَيْهِ  وَمَا  رَبُّكَ  بِغَٰفِلٍ  عَمَّا  تَعْمَلُونَ wa‑lillahi ghaybu l‑samāwāti wa‑l‑arḍi wa‑ilayhi yurjaʿu l‑amru kulluhu fa‑iʿbudhu wa‑tawakkal ʿalayhi wa‑mā rabbuka bi‑ghāfilin ʿammā taʿmalūna
To Allah do belong the unseen (secrets) of the heavens and the earth, and to Him goeth back every affair (for decision): then worship Him, and put thy trust in Him: and thy Lord is not unmindful of aught that ye do.

Surah 12 Yūsuf (Joseph)
(12:50)

وَقَالَ  ٱلْمَلِكُ  ٱئْتُونِى  بِهِۦ  فَلَمَّا  جَآءَهُ  ٱلرَّسُولُ  قَالَ  ٱرْجِعْ  إِلَىٰ  رَبِّكَ  فَسْـَٔلْهُ  مَا  بَالُ  ٱلنِّسْوَةِ  ٱلَّٰتِى  قَطَّعْنَ  أَيْدِيَهُنَّ  إِنَّ  رَبِّى  بِكَيْدِهِنَّ  عَلِيمٌ wa‑qāla l‑maliku iʾtūnī bihi fa‑lammā jāʾahu l‑rasūlu qalā irjiʿ ilā rabbika fa‑sʾalhu bālu l‑niswati allātī qaṭṭaʿna aydiyahunna inna rabbī bi‑kaydihinna ʿalīmun
So the king said: "Bring ye him unto me." But when the messenger came to him, (Joseph) said: "Go thou back to thy lord, and ask him, 'What is the state of mind of the ladies who cut their hands'? For my Lord is certainly well aware of their snare."
(12:62)

And (Joseph) told his servants to put their stock-in-trade (with which they had bartered) into their saddle-bags, so they should know it only when they returned to their people, in order that they might come back.
(12:63)

فَلَمَّا  رَجَعُوٓا۟  إِلَىٰٓ  أَبِيهِمْ  قَالُوا۟  يَٰٓأَبَانَا  مُنِعَ  مِنَّا  ٱلْكَيْلُ  فَأَرْسِلْ  مَعَنَآ  أَخَانَا  نَكْتَلْ  وَإِنَّا  لَهُۥ  لَحَٰفِظُونَ fa‑lammā rajaʿū ila abīhim qālū yā‑abānā muniʿa minnā l‑kaylu fa‑arsil maʿanā akhānā naktal wa‑innā lahu la‑ḥāfiẓūna
Now when they returned to their father, they said: "O our father! No more measure of grain shall we get (unless we take our brother): So send our brother with us, that we may get our measure; and we will indeed take every care of him."
(12:81)

"Turn ye back to your father, and say, 'O our father! behold! thy son committed theft! we bear witness only to what we know, and we could not well guard against the unseen!

Surah 19 Maryam (Mary)
(19:40)

إِنَّا  نَحْنُ  نَرِثُ  ٱلْأَرْضَ  وَمَنْ  عَلَيْهَا  وَإِلَيْنَا  يُرْجَعُونَ innā naḥnu narithu l‑arḍa wa‑man ʿalayhā wa‑ilaynā yurjaʿūna
It is We Who will inherit the earth, and all beings thereon: to Us will they all be returned.

Surah 20 Ṭā Hā (Ta-Ha)
(20:86)

فَرَجَعَ  مُوسَىٰٓ  إِلَىٰ  قَوْمِهِۦ  غَضْبَٰنَ  أَسِفًا  قَالَ  يَٰقَوْمِ  أَلَمْ  يَعِدْكُمْ  رَبُّكُمْ  وَعْدًا  حَسَنًا  أَفَطَالَ  عَلَيْكُمُ  ٱلْعَهْدُ  أَمْ  أَرَدتُّمْ  أَن  يَحِلَّ  عَلَيْكُمْ  غَضَبٌ  مِّن  رَّبِّكُمْ  فَأَخْلَفْتُم  مَّوْعِدِى fa‑rajaʿa mūsā ilā qawmihi ghaḍbāna asifan qalā yā‑qawmi a‑lam yaʿidkum rabbukum waʿdan ḥasanan afaṭāla ʿalaykumu l‑ʿahdu am aradttum an yaḥilla ʿalaykum ghaḍabun min rabbikum fa‑akhlaftum mawʿidī
So Moses returned to his people in a state of indignation and sorrow. He said: "O my people! did not your Lord make a handsome promise to you? Did then the promise seem to you long (in coming)? Or did ye desire that Wrath should descend from your Lord on you, and so ye broke your promise to me?"
(20:89)

أَفَلَا  يَرَوْنَ  أَلَّا  يَرْجِعُ  إِلَيْهِمْ  قَوْلًا  وَلَا  يَمْلِكُ  لَهُمْ  ضَرًّا  وَلَا  نَفْعًا a‑fa‑lā yarawna allā yarjiʿu ilayhim qawlan wa‑lā yamliku lahum ḍarran wa‑lā nafʿan
Could they not see that it could not return them a word (for answer), and that it had no power either to harm them or to do them good?
(20:91)

قَالُوا۟  لَن  نَّبْرَحَ  عَلَيْهِ  عَٰكِفِينَ  حَتَّىٰ  يَرْجِعَ  إِلَيْنَا  مُوسَىٰ qālū lan nnabraḥa ʿalayhi ʿākifīna ḥattā yarjiʿa ilaynā mūsā
They had said: "We will not abandon this cult, but we will devote ourselves to it until Moses returns to us."

Surah 21 al-Anbiyāʾ (The Prophets)
(21:13)

Flee not, but return to the good things of this life which were given you, and to your homes in order that ye may be called to account.
(21:35)

Every soul shall have a taste of death: and We test you by evil and by good by way of trial. to Us must ye return.
(21:58)

So he broke them to pieces, (all) but the biggest of them, that they might turn (and address themselves) to it.
(21:64)

So they turned to themselves and said, "Surely ye are the ones in the wrong!"
(21:95)

But there is a ban on any population which We have destroyed: that they shall not return,

Surah 23 al-Muʾminūn (The Believers)
(23:99)

(In Falsehood will they be) Until, when death comes to one of them, he says: "O my Lord! send me back (to life),-
(23:115)

أَفَحَسِبْتُمْ  أَنَّمَا  خَلَقْنَٰكُمْ  عَبَثًا  وَأَنَّكُمْ  إِلَيْنَا  لَا  تُرْجَعُونَ a‑fa‑ḥasibtum annamā khalaqnākum ʿabathan wa‑annakum ilaynā turjaʿūna
"Did ye then think that We had created you in jest, and that ye would not be brought back to Us (for account)?"

Surah 24 al-Nūr (The Light)
(24:28)

فَإِن  لَّمْ  تَجِدُوا۟  فِيهَآ  أَحَدًا  فَلَا  تَدْخُلُوهَا  حَتَّىٰ  يُؤْذَنَ  لَكُمْ  وَإِن  قِيلَ  لَكُمُ  ٱرْجِعُوا۟  فَٱرْجِعُوا۟  هُوَ  أَزْكَىٰ  لَكُمْ  وَٱللَّـهُ  بِمَا  تَعْمَلُونَ  عَلِيمٌ fa‑in lam tajidū fīhā aḥadan fa‑lā tadkhulūhā ḥattā yudhana la‑kum wa‑in qīla lakumu arjiʿū fa‑irjiʿū huwa azka la‑kum wallāhu bi‑mā taʿmalūna ʿalīmun
If ye find no one in the house, enter not until permission is given to you: if ye are asked to go back, go back: that makes for greater purity for yourselves: and Allah knows well all that ye do.
(24:64)

أَلَآ  إِنَّ  لِلَّـهِ  مَا  فِى  ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ  وَٱلْأَرْضِ  قَدْ  يَعْلَمُ  مَآ  أَنتُمْ  عَلَيْهِ  وَيَوْمَ  يُرْجَعُونَ  إِلَيْهِ  فَيُنَبِّئُهُم  بِمَا  عَمِلُوا۟  وَٱللَّـهُ  بِكُلِّ  شَىْءٍ  عَلِيمٌۢ āla inna lillāhi l‑samāwāti wa‑l‑arḍi qad yaʿlamu antum ʿalayhi wa‑yawma yurjaʿūna ilayhi fa‑yunabbiʾuhum bi‑mā ʿamilū wallāhu bi‑kulli shayʾin ʿalīmun
Be quite sure that to Allah doth belong whatever is in the heavens and on earth. Well doth He know what ye are intent upon: and one day they will be brought back to Him, and He will tell them the truth of what they did: for Allah doth know all things.

Surah 27 al-Naml (The Ant)
(27:28)

"Go thou, with this letter of mine, and deliver it to them: then draw back from them, and (wait to) see what answer they return"...
(27:35)

"But I am going to send him a present, and (wait) to see with what (answer) return (my) ambassadors."
(27:37)

"Go back to them, and be sure we shall come to them with such hosts as they will never be able to meet: We shall expel them from there in disgrace, and they will feel humbled (indeed)."

Surah 28 al-Qaṣaṣ (The Narrative)
(28:39)

And he was arrogant and insolent in the land, beyond reason,- He and his hosts: they thought that they would not have to return to Us!
(28:70)

And He is Allah: There is no god but He. To Him be praise, at the first and at the last: for Him is the Command, and to Him shall ye (all) be brought back.
(28:88)

وَلَا  تَدْعُ  مَعَ  ٱللَّـهِ  إِلَٰهًا  ءَاخَرَ  لَآ  إِلَٰهَ  إِلَّا  هُوَ  كُلُّ  شَىْءٍ  هَالِكٌ  إِلَّا  وَجْهَهُۥ  لَهُ  ٱلْحُكْمُ  وَإِلَيْهِ  تُرْجَعُونَ wa‑lā tadʿu maʿa allāhi ilāhan ākhara ilāha illā huwa kullu shayʾin hālikun illā wajhahu lahu l‑ḥukmu wa‑ilayhi turjaʿūna
And call not, besides Allah, on another god. There is no god but He. Everything (that exists) will perish except His own Face. To Him belongs the Command, and to Him will ye (all) be brought back.

Surah 29 al-ʿAnkabūt (The Spider)
(29:17)

إِنَّمَا  تَعْبُدُونَ  مِن  دُونِ  ٱللَّـهِ  أَوْثَٰنًا  وَتَخْلُقُونَ  إِفْكًا  إِنَّ  ٱلَّذِينَ  تَعْبُدُونَ  مِن  دُونِ  ٱللَّـهِ  لَا  يَمْلِكُونَ  لَكُمْ  رِزْقًا  فَٱبْتَغُوا۟  عِندَ  ٱللَّـهِ  ٱلرِّزْقَ  وَٱعْبُدُوهُ  وَٱشْكُرُوا۟  لَهُۥٓ  إِلَيْهِ  تُرْجَعُونَ innamā taʿbudūna min dūni allāhi awthānan wa‑takhluqūna ifkan inna lladhīna taʿbudūna min dūni allāhi yamlikūna la‑kum rizqan fabtaghū ʿinda allāhi l‑rizqa wa‑aʿbudūhu wa‑ishkurū lahu ilayhi turjaʿūna
"For ye do worship idols besides Allah, and ye invent falsehood. The things that ye worship besides Allah have no power to give you sustenance: then seek ye sustenance from Allah, serve Him, and be grateful to Him: to Him will be your return.
(29:57)

Every soul shall have a taste of death in the end to Us shall ye be brought back.

Surah 30 al-Rūm (The Romans)
(30:11)

It is Allah Who begins (the process of) creation; then repeats it; then shall ye be brought back to Him.
(30:41)

Mischief has appeared on land and sea because of (the meed) that the hands of men have earned, that (Allah) may give them a taste of some of their deeds: in order that they may turn back (from Evil).

Surah 32 al-Sajdah (The Adoration)
(32:11)

Say: "The Angel of Death, put in charge of you, will (duly) take your souls: then shall ye be brought back to your Lord."
(32:12)

If only thou couldst see when the guilty ones will bend low their heads before their Lord, (saying:) "Our Lord! We have seen and we have heard: Now then send us back (to the world): we will work righteousness: for we do indeed (now) believe."
(32:21)

And indeed We will make them taste of the Penalty of this (life) prior to the supreme Penalty, in order that they may (repent and) return.

Surah 33 al-Aḥzāb (The Allies)
(33:13)

وَإِذْ  قَالَت  طَّآئِفَةٌ  مِّنْهُمْ  يَٰٓأَهْلَ  يَثْرِبَ  لَا  مُقَامَ  لَكُمْ  فَٱرْجِعُوا۟  وَيَسْتَـْٔذِنُ  فَرِيقٌ  مِّنْهُمُ  ٱلنَّبِىَّ  يَقُولُونَ  إِنَّ  بُيُوتَنَا  عَوْرَةٌ  وَمَا  هِىَ  بِعَوْرَةٍ  إِن  يُرِيدُونَ  إِلَّا  فِرَارًا wa‑idh qālat ṭāʾifatun minhum yāʾahla yathriba muqāma la‑kum fa‑irjiʿū wa‑yastaʾdhinu farīqun minhumu l‑nabiyya yaqūlūna inna buyūtanā ʿawratun wa‑mā hiya biʿawratin in yurīdūna illā firāran
Behold! A party among them said: "Ye men of Yathrib! ye cannot stand (the attack)! therefore go back!" And a band of them ask for leave of the Prophet, saying, "Truly our houses are bare and exposed," though they were not exposed they intended nothing but to run away.

Surah 34 Sabaʾ (Sheba)
(34:31)

The Unbelievers say: "We shall neither believe in this scripture nor in (any) that (came) before it." Couldst thou but see when the wrong-doers will be made to stand before their Lord, throwing back the word (of blame) on one another! Those who had been despised will say to the arrogant ones: "Had it not been for you, we should certainly have been believers!"
