Surah 6 al-Anʿām (The Cattle)

(6:137)    | وَكَذَٰلِكَ زَيَّنَ لِكَثِيرٍ مِّنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ قَتْلَ أَوْلَٰدِهِمْ شُرَكَآؤُهُمْ لِيُرْدُوهُمْ وَلِيَلْبِسُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْ دِينَهُمْ وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّـهُ مَا فَعَلُوهُ فَذَرْهُمْ وَمَا يَفْتَرُونَ | wa‑ka‑dhālika zayyana likathīrin mina l‑mushrikīna qatla awlādihim shurakāʾuhum li‑yurdūhum wa‑li‑yalbisū ʿalayhim dīnahum wa‑law shāʾa allāhu mā faʿalūhu fa‑dharhum wa‑mā yaftarūna | Even so, in the eyes of most of the pagans, their "partners"
made alluring the slaughter of their children, in order to lead them to
their own destruction, and cause confusion in their religion. If Allah had
willed, they would not have done so: But leave alone them and their
inventions.

Surah 37 al-Ṣaffāt (The Rangers) | (37:56) | قَالَ تَٱللَّەِ إِن كِدتَّ لَتُرْدِينِ | qalā ta‑allahi in kidtta la‑turdīni | He said: "By Allah! thou wast little short of bringing me to
perdition!
Sura al-Ṣaffāt 37:56 قَالَ تَٱللَّەِ إِن كِدتَّ لَتُرْدِينِ qalā ta-allahi in kidtta la-turdīni He said: "By Allah! thou wast little short of bringing me to perdition! |
Surah 41 Fuṣṣilat (Revelations Well Expounded) | (41:23) | وَذَٰلِكُمْ ظَنُّكُمُ ٱلَّذِى ظَنَنتُم بِرَبِّكُمْ أَرْدَىٰكُمْ فَأَصْبَحْتُم مِّنَ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ | wa‑dhālikum ẓannukumu alladhī ẓanantum birabbikum ardākum fa‑aṣbaḥtum mina l‑khāsirīna | "But this thought of yours which ye did entertain concerning
your Lord, hath brought you to destruction, and (now) have ye become of
those utterly lost!"
Sura Fuṣṣilat 41:23 وَذَٰلِكُمْ ظَنُّكُمُ ٱلَّذِى ظَنَنتُم بِرَبِّكُمْ أَرْدَىٰكُمْ فَأَصْبَحْتُم مِّنَ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ wa-dhālikum ẓannukumu alladhī ẓanantum birabbikum ardākum fa-aṣbaḥtum mina l-khāsirīna "But this thought of yours which ye did entertain concerning your Lord, hath brought you to destruction, and (now) have ye become of those utterly lost!" |
