Surah 2 al-Baqara (The Cow)
RefArabic    TransliterationTranslation
(2:119)

إِنَّآ  أَرْسَلْنَٰكَ  بِٱلْحَقِّ  بَشِيرًا  وَنَذِيرًا  وَلَا  تُسْـَٔلُ  عَنْ  أَصْحَٰبِ  ٱلْجَحِيمِ innā arsalnāka bil‑ḥaqqi bashīran wa‑nadhīran wa‑lā tusʾalu ʿan aṣḥābi l‑jaḥīmi
Verily We have sent thee in truth as a bearer of glad tidings and a warner: But of thee no question shall be asked of the Companions of the Blazing Fire.
(2:151)

A similar (favour have ye already received) in that We have sent among you a Messenger of your own, rehearsing to you Our Signs, and sanctifying you, and instructing you in Scripture and Wisdom, and in new knowledge.

Surah 4 al-Nisāʾ (The Women)
(4:64)

وَمَآ  أَرْسَلْنَا  مِن  رَّسُولٍ  إِلَّا  لِيُطَاعَ  بِإِذْنِ  ٱللَّـهِ  وَلَوْ  أَنَّهُمْ  إِذ  ظَّلَمُوٓا۟  أَنفُسَهُمْ  جَآءُوكَ  فَٱسْتَغْفَرُوا۟  ٱللَّـهَ  وَٱسْتَغْفَرَ  لَهُمُ  ٱلرَّسُولُ  لَوَجَدُوا۟  ٱللَّـهَ  تَوَّابًا  رَّحِيمًا wa‑mā arsalnā min rrasūlin illā li‑yuṭāʿa bi‑idhni allāhi wa‑law annahum idh ẓalamū anfusahum jāʾūka fa‑astaghfarū allāha wa‑astaghfara lahumu l‑rasūlu la‑wajadū allāha tawwāban raḥīman
We sent not a messenger, but to be obeyed, in accordance with the will of Allah. If they had only, when they were unjust to themselves, come unto thee and asked Allah's forgiveness, and the Messenger had asked forgiveness for them, they would have found Allah indeed Oft-returning, Most Merciful.
(4:79)

Whatever good, (O man!) happens to thee, is from Allah; but whatever evil happens to thee, is from thy (own) soul. and We have sent thee as a messenger to (instruct) mankind. And enough is Allah for a witness.
(4:80)

مَّن  يُطِعِ  ٱلرَّسُولَ  فَقَدْ  أَطَاعَ  ٱللَّـهَ  وَمَن  تَوَلَّىٰ  فَمَآ  أَرْسَلْنَٰكَ  عَلَيْهِمْ  حَفِيظًا man yuṭiʿi l‑rasūla fa‑qad aṭāʿa allāha wa‑man tawalla fa‑mā arsalnāka ʿalayhim ḥafīẓan
He who obeys the Messenger, obeys Allah: But if any turn away, We have not sent thee to watch over their (evil deeds).

Surah 5 al-Māʾidah (The Table Spread)
(5:70)

We took the covenant of the Children of Israel and sent them messengers, every time, there came to them a messenger with what they themselves desired not - some (of these) they called impostors, and some they (go so far as to) slay.

Surah 6 al-Anʿām (The Cattle)
(6:6)

أَلَمْ  يَرَوْا۟  كَمْ  أَهْلَكْنَا  مِن  قَبْلِهِم  مِّن  قَرْنٍ  مَّكَّنَّٰهُمْ  فِى  ٱلْأَرْضِ  مَا  لَمْ  نُمَكِّن  لَّكُمْ  وَأَرْسَلْنَا  ٱلسَّمَآءَ  عَلَيْهِم  مِّدْرَارًا  وَجَعَلْنَا  ٱلْأَنْهَٰرَ  تَجْرِى  مِن  تَحْتِهِمْ  فَأَهْلَكْنَٰهُم  بِذُنُوبِهِمْ  وَأَنشَأْنَا  مِنۢ  بَعْدِهِمْ  قَرْنًا  ءَاخَرِينَ a‑lam yaraw kam ahlaknā min qablihim min qarnin makkannāhum l‑arḍi lam numakkin la‑kum wa‑arsalnā l‑samāʾa ʿalayhim midrāran wa‑jaʿalnā l‑anhāra tajrī min taḥtihim fa‑ahlaknāhum bi‑dhunūbihim wa‑anshaʾnā min baʿdihim qarnan ākharīna
See they not how many of those before them We did destroy?- generations We had established on the earth, in strength such as We have not given to you - for whom We poured out rain from the skies in abundance, and gave (fertile) streams flowing beneath their (feet): yet for their sins We destroyed them, and raised in their wake fresh generations (to succeed them).
(6:42)

وَلَقَدْ  أَرْسَلْنَآ  إِلَىٰٓ  أُمَمٍ  مِّن  قَبْلِكَ  فَأَخَذْنَٰهُم  بِٱلْبَأْسَآءِ  وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ  لَعَلَّهُمْ  يَتَضَرَّعُونَ wa‑la‑qad arsalnā ila umamin min qablika fa‑akhadhnāhum bil‑baʾsāʾi wa‑l‑ḍarrāʾi la‑ʿallahum yataḍarraʿūna
Before thee We sent (messengers) to many nations, and We afflicted the nations with suffering and adversity, that they might learn humility.
(6:48)

وَمَا  نُرْسِلُ  ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ  إِلَّا  مُبَشِّرِينَ  وَمُنذِرِينَ  فَمَنْ  ءَامَنَ  وَأَصْلَحَ  فَلَا  خَوْفٌ  عَلَيْهِمْ  وَلَا  هُمْ  يَحْزَنُونَ wa‑mā nursilu l‑mursalīna illā mubashshirīna wa‑mundhirīna fa‑man āmana wa‑aṣlaḥa fa‑lā khawfun ʿalayhim wa‑lā hum yaḥzanūna
We send the messengers only to give good news and to warn: so those who believe and mend (their lives),- upon them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.
(6:61)

He is the irresistible, (watching) from above over His worshippers, and He sets guardians over you. At length, when death approaches one of you, Our angels take his soul, and they never fail in their duty.

Surah 7 al-Aʿrāf (The Heights)
(7:6)

Then shall we question those to whom Our message was sent and those by whom We sent it.
(7:57)

It is He Who sendeth the winds like heralds of glad tidings, going before His mercy: when they have carried the heavy-laden clouds, We drive them to a land that is dead, make rain to descend thereon, and produce every kind of harvest therewith: thus shall We raise up the dead: perchance ye may remember.
(7:59)

لَقَدْ  أَرْسَلْنَا  نُوحًا  إِلَىٰ  قَوْمِهِۦ  فَقَالَ  يَٰقَوْمِ  ٱعْبُدُوا۟  ٱللَّـهَ  مَا  لَكُم  مِّنْ  إِلَٰهٍ  غَيْرُهُۥٓ  إِنِّىٓ  أَخَافُ  عَلَيْكُمْ  عَذَابَ  يَوْمٍ  عَظِيمٍ la‑qad arsalnā nūḥan ilā qawmihi fa‑qāla yā‑qawmi iʿbudū allāha la‑kum min ilāhin ghayruhu innī akhāfu ʿalaykum ʿadhāba yawmin ʿaẓīmin

The leaders of the arrogant party among his people said to those who were reckoned powerless - those among them who believed: "know ye indeed that Salih is a messenger from his Lord?" They said: "We do indeed believe in the revelation which hath been sent through him."
(7:87)

وَإِن  كَانَ  طَآئِفَةٌ  مِّنكُمْ  ءَامَنُوا۟  بِٱلَّذِىٓ  أُرْسِلْتُ  بِهِۦ  وَطَآئِفَةٌ  لَّمْ  يُؤْمِنُوا۟  فَٱصْبِرُوا۟  حَتَّىٰ  يَحْكُمَ  ٱللَّـهُ  بَيْنَنَا  وَهُوَ  خَيْرُ  ٱلْحَٰكِمِينَ wa‑in kāna ṭāʾifatun minkum āmanū bi‑lladhī ursiltu bihi wa‑ṭāifatun lam yuʾminū faṣbirū ḥattā yaḥkuma allāhu baynanā wa‑huwa khayru l‑ḥākimīna

(7:94)

وَمَآ  أَرْسَلْنَا  فِى  قَرْيَةٍ  مِّن  نَّبِىٍّ  إِلَّآ  أَخَذْنَآ  أَهْلَهَا  بِٱلْبَأْسَآءِ  وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ  لَعَلَّهُمْ  يَضَّرَّعُونَ wa‑mā arsalnā qaryatin min nabiyyin illā akhadhnā ahlahā bil‑baʾsāʾi wa‑l‑ḍarrāʾi la‑ʿallahum yaḍḍarraʿūna

So We sent (plagues) on them: Wholesale death, Locusts, Lice, Frogs, And Blood: Signs openly self-explained: but they were steeped in arrogance,- a people given to sin.

وَلَمَّا  وَقَعَ  عَلَيْهِمُ  ٱلرِّجْزُ  قَالُوا۟  يَٰمُوسَى  ٱدْعُ  لَنَا  رَبَّكَ  بِمَا  عَهِدَ  عِندَكَ  لَئِن  كَشَفْتَ  عَنَّا  ٱلرِّجْزَ  لَنُؤْمِنَنَّ  لَكَ  وَلَنُرْسِلَنَّ  مَعَكَ  بَنِىٓ  إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ wa‑lammā waqaʿa ʿalayhimu l‑rijzu qālū yā‑musā idʿu la‑nā rabbaka bi‑mā ʿahida ʿindaka lain kashafta ʿannā l‑rijza la‑nuʾminanna la‑ka wa‑la‑nursilanna maʿaka banī isrāʾīla
Every time the penalty fell on them, they said: "O Moses! on your behalf call on thy Lord in virtue of his promise to thee: If thou wilt remove the penalty from us, we shall truly believe in thee, and we shall send away the Children of Israel with thee."
(7:162)

فَبَدَّلَ  ٱلَّذِينَ  ظَلَمُوا۟  مِنْهُمْ  قَوْلًا  غَيْرَ  ٱلَّذِى  قِيلَ  لَهُمْ  فَأَرْسَلْنَا  عَلَيْهِمْ  رِجْزًا  مِّنَ  ٱلسَّمَآءِ  بِمَا  كَانُوا۟  يَظْلِمُونَ fa‑baddala lladhīna ẓalamū minhum qawlan ghayra alladhī qīla lahum fa‑arsalnā ʿalayhim rijzan mina l‑samāʾi bi‑mā kānū yaẓlimūna

Now when they returned to their father, they said: "O our father! No more measure of grain shall we get (unless we take our brother): So send our brother with us, that we may get our measure; and we will indeed take every care of him."
(12:66)

قَالَ  لَنْ  أُرْسِلَهُۥ  مَعَكُمْ  حَتَّىٰ  تُؤْتُونِ  مَوْثِقًا  مِّنَ  ٱللَّـهِ  لَتَأْتُنَّنِى  بِهِۦٓ  إِلَّآ  أَن  يُحَاطَ  بِكُمْ  فَلَمَّآ  ءَاتَوْهُ  مَوْثِقَهُمْ  قَالَ  ٱللَّـهُ  عَلَىٰ  مَا  نَقُولُ  وَكِيلٌ qalā lan ursilahu maʿakum ḥattā tuʾtūni mawthiqan mina allāhi la‑taʾtunnanī bihi illā an yuḥāṭa bikum fa‑lammā ātawhu mawthiqahum qalā allāhu ʿalā naqūlu wakīlun
(Jacob) said: "Never will I send him with you until ye swear a solemn oath to me, in Allah's name, that ye will be sure to bring him back to me unless ye are yourselves hemmed in (and made powerless). And when they had sworn their solemn oath, he said: "Over all that we say, be Allah the witness and guardian!"
(12:109)

وَمَآ  أَرْسَلْنَا  مِن  قَبْلِكَ  إِلَّا  رِجَالًا  نُّوحِىٓ  إِلَيْهِم  مِّنْ  أَهْلِ  ٱلْقُرَىٰٓ  أَفَلَمْ  يَسِيرُوا۟  فِى  ٱلْأَرْضِ  فَيَنظُرُوا۟  كَيْفَ  كَانَ  عَٰقِبَةُ  ٱلَّذِينَ  مِن  قَبْلِهِمْ  وَلَدَارُ  ٱلْأَخِرَةِ  خَيْرٌ  لِّلَّذِينَ  ٱتَّقَوْا۟  أَفَلَا  تَعْقِلُونَ wa‑mā arsalnā min qablika illā rijālan nnūḥī ilayhim min ahli al‑qura a‑fa‑lam yasīrū l‑arḍi fa‑yanẓurū kayfa kāna ʿāqibatu lladhīna min qablihim wa‑ladāru l‑akhirati khayrun li‑lladhīna ittaqaw a‑fa‑lā taʿqilūna
Nor did We send before thee (as messengers) any but men, whom we did inspire,- (men) living in human habitations. Do they not travel through the earth, and see what was the end of those before them? But the home of the hereafter is best, for those who do right. Will ye not then understand?

Surah 13 al-Raʿd (The Thunder)
(13:13)

وَيُسَبِّحُ  ٱلرَّعْدُ  بِحَمْدِهِۦ  وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ  مِنْ  خِيفَتِهِۦ  وَيُرْسِلُ  ٱلصَّوَٰعِقَ  فَيُصِيبُ  بِهَا  مَن  يَشَآءُ  وَهُمْ  يُجَٰدِلُونَ  فِى  ٱللَّـهِ  وَهُوَ  شَدِيدُ  ٱلْمِحَالِ wa‑yusabbiḥu l‑raʿdu bi‑ḥamdihi wa‑l‑malāʾikatu min khīfatihi wa‑yursilu l‑ṣawāʿiqa fa‑yuṣību bihā man yashāʾu wa‑hum yujādilūna allāhi wa‑huwa shadīdu l‑miḥāli
Nay, thunder repeateth His praises, and so do the angels, with awe: He flingeth the loud-voiced thunder-bolts, and therewith He striketh whomsoever He will..yet these (are the men) who (dare to) dispute about Allah, with the strength of His power (supreme)!
(13:30)

Thus have we sent thee amongst a People before whom (long since) have (other) Peoples (gone and) passed away; in order that thou mightest rehearse unto them what We send down unto thee by inspiration; yet do they reject (Him), the Most Gracious! Say: "He is my Lord! There is no god but He! On Him is my trust, and to Him do I turn!"
(13:38)

وَلَقَدْ  أَرْسَلْنَا  رُسُلًا  مِّن  قَبْلِكَ  وَجَعَلْنَا  لَهُمْ  أَزْوَٰجًا  وَذُرِّيَّةً  وَمَا  كَانَ  لِرَسُولٍ  أَن  يَأْتِىَ  بِـَٔايَةٍ  إِلَّا  بِإِذْنِ  ٱللَّـهِ  لِكُلِّ  أَجَلٍ  كِتَابٌ wa‑la‑qad arsalnā rusulan min qablika wa‑jaʿalnā lahum azwājan wa‑dhurriyyatan wa‑mā kāna lirasūlin an yaʾtiya bi‑āyatin illā bi‑idhni allāhi li‑kulli ajalin kitābun
We did send messengers before thee, and appointed for them wives and children: and it was never the part of a messenger to bring a sign except as Allah permitted (or commanded). For each period is a Book (revealed).

Surah 14 Ibrāhīm (Abraham)
(14:4)

وَمَآ  أَرْسَلْنَا  مِن  رَّسُولٍ  إِلَّا  بِلِسَانِ  قَوْمِهِۦ  لِيُبَيِّنَ  لَهُمْ  فَيُضِلُّ  ٱللَّـهُ  مَن  يَشَآءُ  وَيَهْدِى  مَن  يَشَآءُ  وَهُوَ  ٱلْعَزِيزُ  ٱلْحَكِيمُ wa‑mā arsalnā min rrasūlin illā bi‑lisāni qawmihi li‑yubayyina lahum fa‑yuḍillu allāhu man yashāʾu wa‑yahdī man yashāʾu wa‑huwa l‑ʿazīzu l‑ḥakīmu
We sent not a messenger except (to teach) in the language of his (own) people, in order to make (things) clear to them. Now Allah leaves straying those whom He pleases and guides whom He pleases: and He is Exalted in power, full of Wisdom.
(14:5)

وَلَقَدْ  أَرْسَلْنَا  مُوسَىٰ  بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ  أَنْ  أَخْرِجْ  قَوْمَكَ  مِنَ  ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ  إِلَى  ٱلنُّورِ  وَذَكِّرْهُم  بِأَيَّىٰمِ  ٱللَّـهِ  إِنَّ  فِى  ذَٰلِكَ  لَءَايَٰتٍ  لِّكُلِّ  صَبَّارٍ  شَكُورٍ wa‑la‑qad arsalnā mūsā bi‑āyātinā an akhrij qawmaka mina l‑ẓulumāti ilā l‑nūri wa‑dhakkirhum bi‑ayyāmi allāhi inna dhālika la‑āyātin li‑kulli ṣabbārin shakūrin
We sent Moses with Our signs (and the command). "Bring out thy people from the depths of darkness into light, and teach them to remember the Days of Allah." Verily in this there are Signs for such as are firmly patient and constant,- grateful and appreciative.
(14:9)

أَلَمْ  يَأْتِكُمْ  نَبَؤُا۟  ٱلَّذِينَ  مِن  قَبْلِكُمْ  قَوْمِ  نُوحٍ  وَعَادٍ  وَثَمُودَ  وَٱلَّذِينَ  مِنۢ  بَعْدِهِمْ  لَا  يَعْلَمُهُمْ  إِلَّا  ٱللَّـهُ  جَآءَتْهُمْ  رُسُلُهُم  بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ  فَرَدُّوٓا۟  أَيْدِيَهُمْ  فِىٓ  أَفْوَٰهِهِمْ  وَقَالُوٓا۟  إِنَّا  كَفَرْنَا  بِمَآ  أُرْسِلْتُم  بِهِۦ  وَإِنَّا  لَفِى  شَكٍّ  مِّمَّا  تَدْعُونَنَآ  إِلَيْهِ  مُرِيبٍ a‑lam yatikum nabaʾu lladhīna min qablikum qawmi nūḥin wa‑ʿādin wa‑thamūda wa‑lladhīna min baʿdihim yaʿlamuhum illā allāhu jāʾathum rusuluhum bil‑bayyināti fa‑raddū aydiyahum afwāhihim wa‑qālū innā kafarnā bimā ursiltum bihi wa‑innā la‑fī shakkin mimmā tadʿūnanā ilayhi murībin
Has not the story reached you, (O people!), of those who (went) before you? - of the people of Noah, and 'Ad, and Thamud? - And of those who (came) after them? None knows them but Allah. To them came messengers with Clear (Signs); but they put their hands up to their mouths, and said: "We do deny (the mission) on which ye have been sent, and we are really in suspicious (disquieting) doubt as to that to which ye invite us."

Surah 15 al-Ḥijr (The Rocky Tract)
(15:10)

وَلَقَدْ  أَرْسَلْنَا  مِن  قَبْلِكَ  فِى  شِيَعِ  ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ wa‑la‑qad arsalnā min qablika shīaʿi l‑awwalīna
We did send messengers before thee amongst the religious sects of old:
(15:22)

وَأَرْسَلْنَا  ٱلرِّيَٰحَ  لَوَٰقِحَ  فَأَنزَلْنَا  مِنَ  ٱلسَّمَآءِ  مَآءً  فَأَسْقَيْنَٰكُمُوهُ  وَمَآ  أَنتُمْ  لَهُۥ  بِخَٰزِنِينَ wa‑arsalnā l‑riyāḥa lawāqiḥa fa‑anzalnā mina l‑samāʾi māʾan fa‑asqaynākumūhu wa‑mā antum lahu bikhāzinīna
And We send the fecundating winds, then cause the rain to descend from the sky, therewith providing you with water (in abundance), though ye are not the guardians of its stores.
(15:58)

They said: "We have been sent to a people (deep) in sin,

Surah 16 al-Naḥl (The Bee)
(16:43)

وَمَآ  أَرْسَلْنَا  مِن  قَبْلِكَ  إِلَّا  رِجَالًا  نُّوحِىٓ  إِلَيْهِمْ  فَسْـَٔلُوٓا۟  أَهْلَ  ٱلذِّكْرِ  إِن  كُنتُمْ  لَا  تَعْلَمُونَ wa‑mā arsalnā min qablika illā rijālan nnūḥī ilayhim fa‑sʾalū ahla l‑dhikri in kuntum taʿlamūna
And before thee also the messengers We sent were but men, to whom We granted inspiration: if ye realise this not, ask of those who possess the Message.
(16:63)

تَٱللَّەِ  لَقَدْ  أَرْسَلْنَآ  إِلَىٰٓ  أُمَمٍ  مِّن  قَبْلِكَ  فَزَيَّنَ  لَهُمُ  ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ  أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ  فَهُوَ  وَلِيُّهُمُ  ٱلْيَوْمَ  وَلَهُمْ  عَذَابٌ  أَلِيمٌ ta‑allahi la‑qad arsalnā ila umamin min qablika fa‑zayyana lahumu l‑shayṭānu aʿmālahum fa‑huwa waliyyuhumu l‑yawma wa‑lahum ʿadhābun alīmun
By Allah, We (also) sent (Our messengers) to Peoples before thee; but Satan made, (to the wicked), their own acts seem alluring: He is also their patron today, but they shall have a most grievous penalty.

Surah 17 al-Isrāʾ (The Children of Israel)
(17:54)

رَّبُّكُمْ  أَعْلَمُ  بِكُمْ  إِن  يَشَأْ  يَرْحَمْكُمْ  أَوْ  إِن  يَشَأْ  يُعَذِّبْكُمْ  وَمَآ  أَرْسَلْنَٰكَ  عَلَيْهِمْ  وَكِيلًا rrabbukum aʿlamu bikum in yashaʾ yarḥamkum aw in yashaʾ yuʿadhdhibkum wa‑mā arsalnāka ʿalayhim wakīlan
It is your Lord that knoweth you best: If He please, He granteth you mercy, or if He please, punishment: We have not sent thee to be a disposer of their affairs for them.
(17:59)

وَمَا  مَنَعَنَآ  أَن  نُّرْسِلَ  بِٱلْأَيَٰتِ  إِلَّآ  أَن  كَذَّبَ  بِهَا  ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ  وَءَاتَيْنَا  ثَمُودَ  ٱلنَّاقَةَ  مُبْصِرَةً  فَظَلَمُوا۟  بِهَا  وَمَا  نُرْسِلُ  بِٱلْأَيَٰتِ  إِلَّا  تَخْوِيفًا wa‑mā manaʿanā an nnursila bil‑ayāti illā an kadhdhaba bihā l‑awwalūna wa‑ātaynā thamūda l‑nāqata mubṣiratan fa‑ẓalamū bihā wa‑mā nursilu bil‑ayāti illā takhwīfan
And We refrain from sending the signs, only because the men of former generations treated them as false: We sent the she-camel to the Thamud to open their eyes, but they treated her wrongfully: We only send the Signs by way of terror (and warning from evil).
(17:68)

أَفَأَمِنتُمْ  أَن  يَخْسِفَ  بِكُمْ  جَانِبَ  ٱلْبَرِّ  أَوْ  يُرْسِلَ  عَلَيْكُمْ  حَاصِبًا  ثُمَّ  لَا  تَجِدُوا۟  لَكُمْ  وَكِيلًا a‑fa‑amintum an yakhsifa bikum jāniba l‑barri aw yursila ʿalaykum ḥāṣiban thumma tajidū la‑kum wakīlan
Do ye then feel secure that He will not cause you to be swallowed up beneath the earth when ye are on land, or that He will not send against you a violent tornado (with showers of stones) so that ye shall find no one to carry out your affairs for you?
(17:69)

أَمْ  أَمِنتُمْ  أَن  يُعِيدَكُمْ  فِيهِ  تَارَةً  أُخْرَىٰ  فَيُرْسِلَ  عَلَيْكُمْ  قَاصِفًا  مِّنَ  ٱلرِّيحِ  فَيُغْرِقَكُم  بِمَا  كَفَرْتُمْ  ثُمَّ  لَا  تَجِدُوا۟  لَكُمْ  عَلَيْنَا  بِهِۦ  تَبِيعًا am amintum an yuʿīdakum fīhi tāratan ukhrā fa‑yursila ʿalaykum qāṣifan mina l‑rīḥi fa‑yughriqakum bi‑mā kafartum thumma tajidū la‑kum ʿalaynā bihi tabīʿan
Or do ye feel secure that He will not send you back a second time to sea and send against you a heavy gale to drown you because of your ingratitude, so that ye find no helper. Therein against Us?
(17:77)

سُنَّةَ  مَن  قَدْ  أَرْسَلْنَا  قَبْلَكَ  مِن  رُّسُلِنَا  وَلَا  تَجِدُ  لِسُنَّتِنَا  تَحْوِيلًا sunnata man qad arsalnā qablaka min rusulinā wa‑lā tajidu li‑sunnatinā taḥwīlan
(This was Our) way with the messengers We sent before thee: thou wilt find no change in Our ways.
