Surah 6 al-Anʿām (The Cattle)

(6:141)

وَهُوَ  ٱلَّذِىٓ  أَنشَأَ  جَنَّٰتٍ  مَّعْرُوشَٰتٍ  وَغَيْرَ  مَعْرُوشَٰتٍ  وَٱلنَّخْلَ  وَٱلزَّرْعَ  مُخْتَلِفًا  أُكُلُهُۥ  وَٱلزَّيْتُونَ  وَٱلرُّمَّانَ  مُتَشَٰبِهًا  وَغَيْرَ  مُتَشَٰبِهٍ  كُلُوا۟  مِن  ثَمَرِهِۦٓ  إِذَآ  أَثْمَرَ  وَءَاتُوا۟  حَقَّهُۥ  يَوْمَ  حَصَادِهِۦ  وَلَا  تُسْرِفُوٓا۟  إِنَّهُۥ  لَا  يُحِبُّ  ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ wa‑huwa alladhī anshaa jannātin maʿrūshātin wa‑ghayra maʿrūshātin wa‑l‑nakhla wa‑l‑zarʿa mukhtalifan ukuluhu wa‑l‑zaytūna wa‑l‑rummāna mutashābihan wa‑ghayra mutashābihin kulū min thamarihi idhā athmara wa‑ātū ḥaqqahu yawma ḥaṣādihi wa‑lā tusrifū innahu yuḥibbu l‑musrifīna
It is He Who produceth gardens, with trellises and without, and dates, and tilth with produce of all kinds, and olives and pomegranates, similar (in kind) and different (in variety): eat of their fruit in their season, but render the dues that are proper on the day that the harvest is gathered. But waste not by excess: for Allah loveth not the wasters.

Surah 7 al-Aʿrāf (The Heights)
(7:31)

يَٰبَنِىٓ  ءَادَمَ  خُذُوا۟  زِينَتَكُمْ  عِندَ  كُلِّ  مَسْجِدٍ  وَكُلُوا۟  وَٱشْرَبُوا۟  وَلَا  تُسْرِفُوٓا۟  إِنَّهُۥ  لَا  يُحِبُّ  ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ yā‑banī ādama khudhū zīnatakum ʿinda kulli masjidin wa‑kulū wa‑ishrabū wa‑lā tusrifū innahu yuḥibbu l‑musrifīna
O Children of Adam! wear your beautiful apparel at every time and place of prayer: eat and drink: But waste not by excess, for Allah loveth not the wasters.

Surah 17 al-Isrāʾ (The Children of Israel)
(17:33)

وَلَا  تَقْتُلُوا۟  ٱلنَّفْسَ  ٱلَّتِى  حَرَّمَ  ٱللَّـهُ  إِلَّا  بِٱلْحَقِّ  وَمَن  قُتِلَ  مَظْلُومًا  فَقَدْ  جَعَلْنَا  لِوَلِيِّهِۦ  سُلْطَٰنًا  فَلَا  يُسْرِف  فِّى  ٱلْقَتْلِ  إِنَّهُۥ  كَانَ  مَنصُورًا wa‑lā taqtulū l‑nafsa allatī ḥarrama allāhu illā bil‑ḥaqqi wa‑man qutila maẓlūman fa‑qad jaʿalnā li‑waliyyihi sulṭānan fa‑lā yusrif l‑qatli innahu kāna manṣūran
Nor take life - which Allah has made sacred - except for just cause. And if anyone is slain wrongfully, we have given his heir authority (to demand qisas or to forgive): but let him not exceed bounds in the matter of taking life; for he is helped (by the Law).

Surah 20 Ṭā Hā (Ta-Ha)
(20:127)

وَكَذَٰلِكَ  نَجْزِى  مَنْ  أَسْرَفَ  وَلَمْ  يُؤْمِنۢ  بِـَٔايَٰتِ  رَبِّهِۦ  وَلَعَذَابُ  ٱلْأَخِرَةِ  أَشَدُّ  وَأَبْقَىٰٓ wa‑ka‑dhālika najzī man asrafa wa‑lam yuʾmin bi‑āyāti rabbihi wa‑la‑ʿadhābu l‑akhirati ashaddu wa‑abqā
And thus do We recompense him who transgresses beyond bounds and believes not in the Signs of his Lord: and the Penalty of the Hereafter is far more grievous and more enduring.

Surah 25 al-Furqān (The Criterion)
(25:67)

وَٱلَّذِينَ  إِذَآ  أَنفَقُوا۟  لَمْ  يُسْرِفُوا۟  وَلَمْ  يَقْتُرُوا۟  وَكَانَ  بَيْنَ  ذَٰلِكَ  قَوَامًا wa‑lladhīna idhā anfaqū lam yusrifū wa‑lam yaqturū wa‑kāna bayna dhālika qawāman
Those who, when they spend, are not extravagant and not niggardly, but hold a just (balance) between those (extremes);

Surah 39 al-Zumar (The Companies)
(39:53)

قُلْ  يَٰعِبَادِىَ  ٱلَّذِينَ  أَسْرَفُوا۟  عَلَىٰٓ  أَنفُسِهِمْ  لَا  تَقْنَطُوا۟  مِن  رَّحْمَةِ  ٱللَّـهِ  إِنَّ  ٱللَّـهَ  يَغْفِرُ  ٱلذُّنُوبَ  جَمِيعًا  إِنَّهُۥ  هُوَ  ٱلْغَفُورُ  ٱلرَّحِيمُ qul yā‑ʿibādiya lladhīna asrafū ʿala anfusihim taqnaṭū min rraḥmati allāhi inna allāha yaghfiru l‑dhunūba jamīʿan innahu huwa l‑ghafūru l‑raḥīmu
Say: "O my Servants who have transgressed against their souls! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah: for Allah forgives all sins: for He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
