(2:70) | قَالُوا۟ ٱدْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ يُبَيِّن لَّنَا مَا هِىَ إِنَّ ٱلْبَقَرَ تَشَٰبَهَ عَلَيْنَا وَإِنَّآ إِن شَآءَ ٱللَّـهُ لَمُهْتَدُونَ | qālū idʿu la‑nā rabbaka yubayyin lanā mā hiya inna l‑baqara tashābaha ʿalaynā wa‑innā in shāʾa allāhu la‑muhtadūna | They said: "Beseech on our behalf Thy Lord to make plain to us
what she is: To us are all heifers alike: We wish indeed for guidance, if
Allah wills."
Sura al-Baqara 2:70 قَالُوا۟ ٱدْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ يُبَيِّن لَّنَا مَا هِىَ إِنَّ ٱلْبَقَرَ تَشَٰبَهَ عَلَيْنَا وَإِنَّآ إِن شَآءَ ٱللَّـهُ لَمُهْتَدُونَ qālū idʿu la-nā rabbaka yubayyin lanā mā hiya inna l-baqara tashābaha ʿalaynā wa-innā in shāʾa allāhu la-muhtadūna They said: "Beseech on our behalf Thy Lord to make plain to us what she is: To us are all heifers alike: We wish indeed for guidance, if Allah wills." |
(2:118) | وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ لَوْلَا يُكَلِّمُنَا ٱللَّـهُ أَوْ تَأْتِينَآ ءَايَةٌ كَذَٰلِكَ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّثْلَ قَوْلِهِمْ تَشَٰبَهَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ قَدْ بَيَّنَّا ٱلْأَيَٰتِ لِقَوْمٍ يُوقِنُونَ | wa‑qāla lladhīna lā yaʿlamūna lawlā yukallimunā allāhu aw tatīnā āyatun ka‑dhālika qalā lladhīna min qablihim mithla qawlihim tashābahat qulūbuhum qad bayyannā l‑ayāti li‑qawmin yūqinūna | Say those without knowledge: "Why speaketh not Allah unto us? or
why cometh not unto us a Sign?" So said the people before them words of
similar import. Their hearts are alike. We have indeed made clear the Signs
unto any people who hold firmly to Faith (in their hearts).
Sura al-Baqara 2:118 وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ لَوْلَا يُكَلِّمُنَا ٱللَّـهُ أَوْ تَأْتِينَآ ءَايَةٌ كَذَٰلِكَ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّثْلَ قَوْلِهِمْ تَشَٰبَهَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ قَدْ بَيَّنَّا ٱلْأَيَٰتِ لِقَوْمٍ يُوقِنُونَ wa-qāla lladhīna lā yaʿlamūna lawlā yukallimunā allāhu aw tatīnā āyatun ka-dhālika qalā lladhīna min qablihim mithla qawlihim tashābahat qulūbuhum qad bayyannā l-ayāti li-qawmin yūqinūna Say those without knowledge: "Why speaketh not Allah unto us? or why cometh not unto us a Sign?" So said the people before them words of similar import. Their hearts are alike. We have indeed made clear the Signs unto any people who hold firmly to Faith (in their hearts). |
(3:7) | هُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنزَلَ عَلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ مِنْهُ ءَايَٰتٌ مُّحْكَمَٰتٌ هُنَّ أُمُّ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَأُخَرُ مُتَشَٰبِهَٰتٌ فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ فِى قُلُوبِهِمْ زَيْغٌ فَيَتَّبِعُونَ مَا تَشَٰبَهَ مِنْهُ ٱبْتِغَآءَ ٱلْفِتْنَةِ وَٱبْتِغَآءَ تَأْوِيلِهِۦ وَمَا يَعْلَمُ تَأْوِيلَهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱللَّـهُ وَٱلرَّٰسِخُونَ فِى ٱلْعِلْمِ يَقُولُونَ ءَامَنَّا بِهِۦ كُلٌّ مِّنْ عِندِ رَبِّنَا وَمَا يَذَّكَّرُ إِلَّآ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ | huwa alladhī anzala ʿalayka l‑kitāba minhu āyātun muḥkamātun hunna ummu l‑kitābi wa‑ukharu mutashābihātun fa‑ammā lladhīna fī qulūbihim zayghun fa‑yattabiʿūna mā tashābaha minhu ibtighāʾa l‑fitnati wa‑ibtighāʾa tawīlihi wa‑mā yaʿlamu tawīlahu illā allāhu wa‑l‑rāsikhūna fī l‑ʿilmi yaqūlūna āmannā bihi kullun min ʿindi rabbinā wa‑mā yadhdhakkaru illā ūlū l‑albābi | He it is Who has sent down to thee the Book: In it are verses
basic or fundamental (of established meaning); they are the foundation of
the Book: others are allegorical. But those in whose hearts is perversity
follow the part thereof that is allegorical, seeking discord, and searching
for its hidden meanings, but no one knows its hidden meanings except Allah.
And those who are firmly grounded in knowledge say: "We believe in the
Book; the whole of it is from our Lord:" and none will grasp the Message
except men of understanding.
Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:7 هُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنزَلَ عَلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ مِنْهُ ءَايَٰتٌ مُّحْكَمَٰتٌ هُنَّ أُمُّ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَأُخَرُ مُتَشَٰبِهَٰتٌ فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ فِى قُلُوبِهِمْ زَيْغٌ فَيَتَّبِعُونَ مَا تَشَٰبَهَ مِنْهُ ٱبْتِغَآءَ ٱلْفِتْنَةِ وَٱبْتِغَآءَ تَأْوِيلِهِۦ وَمَا يَعْلَمُ تَأْوِيلَهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱللَّـهُ وَٱلرَّٰسِخُونَ فِى ٱلْعِلْمِ يَقُولُونَ ءَامَنَّا بِهِۦ كُلٌّ مِّنْ عِندِ رَبِّنَا وَمَا يَذَّكَّرُ إِلَّآ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ huwa alladhī anzala ʿalayka l-kitāba minhu āyātun muḥkamātun hunna ummu l-kitābi wa-ukharu mutashābihātun fa-ammā lladhīna fī qulūbihim zayghun fa-yattabiʿūna mā tashābaha minhu ibtighāʾa l-fitnati wa-ibtighāʾa tawīlihi wa-mā yaʿlamu tawīlahu illā allāhu wa-l-rāsikhūna fī l-ʿilmi yaqūlūna āmannā bihi kullun min ʿindi rabbinā wa-mā yadhdhakkaru illā ūlū l-albābi He it is Who has sent down to thee the Book: In it are verses basic or fundamental (of established meaning); they are the foundation of the Book: others are allegorical. (13:16) | قُلْ مَن رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ قُلِ ٱللَّـهُ قُلْ أَفَٱتَّخَذْتُم مِّن دُونِهِۦٓ أَوْلِيَآءَ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ لِأَنفُسِهِمْ نَفْعًا وَلَا ضَرًّا قُلْ هَلْ يَسْتَوِى ٱلْأَعْمَىٰ وَٱلْبَصِيرُ أَمْ هَلْ تَسْتَوِى ٱلظُّلُمَٰتُ وَٱلنُّورُ أَمْ جَعَلُوا۟ لِلَّـهِ شُرَكَآءَ خَلَقُوا۟ كَخَلْقِهِۦ فَتَشَٰبَهَ ٱلْخَلْقُ عَلَيْهِمْ قُلِ ٱللَّـهُ خَٰلِقُ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ وَهُوَ ٱلْوَٰحِدُ ٱلْقَهَّٰرُ | qul man rrabbu l‑samāwāti wa‑l‑arḍi quli allāhu qul afattakhadhtum min dūnihi awliyāʾa lā yamlikūna li‑anfusihim nafʿan wa‑lā ḍarran qul hal yastawī l‑aʿmā wa‑l‑baṣīru am hal tastawī l‑ẓulumātu wa‑l‑nūru am jaʿalū lillāhi shurakāʾa khalaqū ka‑khalqihi fa‑tashābaha l‑khalqu ʿalayhim quli allāhu khāliqu kulli shayʾin wa‑huwa l‑wāḥidu l‑qahhāru | Say: "Who is the Lord and Sustainer of the heavens and the
earth?" Say: "(It is) Allah." Say: "Do ye then take (for worship) protectors
other than Him, such as have no power either for good or for harm to
themselves?" Say: "Are the blind equal with those who see? Or the depths of
darkness equal with light?" Or do they assign to Allah partners who have
created (anything) as He has created, so that the creation seemed to them
similar? Say: "Allah is the Creator of all things: He is the One, the Supreme
and Irresistible."
Sura al-Raʿd 13:16 قُلْ مَن رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ قُلِ ٱللَّـهُ قُلْ أَفَٱتَّخَذْتُم مِّن دُونِهِۦٓ أَوْلِيَآءَ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ لِأَنفُسِهِمْ نَفْعًا وَلَا ضَرًّا قُلْ هَلْ يَسْتَوِى ٱلْأَعْمَىٰ وَٱلْبَصِيرُ أَمْ هَلْ تَسْتَوِى ٱلظُّلُمَٰتُ وَٱلنُّورُ أَمْ جَعَلُوا۟ لِلَّـهِ شُرَكَآءَ خَلَقُوا۟ كَخَلْقِهِۦ فَتَشَٰبَهَ ٱلْخَلْقُ عَلَيْهِمْ قُلِ ٱللَّـهُ خَٰلِقُ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ وَهُوَ ٱلْوَٰحِدُ ٱلْقَهَّٰرُ qul man rrabbu l-samāwāti wa-l-arḍi quli allāhu qul afattakhadhtum min dūnihi awliyāʾa lā yamlikūna li-anfusihim nafʿan wa-lā ḍarran qul hal yastawī l-aʿmā wa-l-baṣīru am hal tastawī l-ẓulumātu wa-l-nūru am jaʿalū lillāhi shurakāʾa khalaqū ka-khalqihi fa-tashābaha l-khalqu ʿalayhim quli allāhu khāliqu kulli shayʾin wa-huwa l-wāḥidu l-qahhāru Say: "Who is the Lord and Sustainer of the heavens and the earth?"
