Sura al-Baqara 2:96

وَلَتَجِدَنَّهُمْ أَحْرَصَ ٱلنَّاسِ عَلَىٰ حَيَوٰةٍ وَمِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا۟ يَوَدُّ أَحَدُهُمْ لَوْ يُعَمَّرُ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ وَمَا هُوَ بِمُزَحْزِحِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ أَن يُعَمَّرَ وَٱللَّـهُ بَصِيرٌۢ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ

wa-la-tajidannahum aḥraṣa l-nāsi ʿalā ḥayāwtin wa-mina lladhīna ashrakū yawaddu aḥaduhum law yuʿammaru alfa sanatin wa-mā huwa bi-muzaḥziḥihi mina l-ʿadhābi an yuʿammara wallāhu baṣīrun bi-mā yaʿmalūna

Thou wilt indeed find them, of all people, most greedy of life,-even more than the idolaters: Each one of them wishes He could be given a life of a thousand years: But the grant of such life will not save him from (due) punishment. For Allah sees well all that they do.

Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:64

قُلْ يَٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ تَعَالَوْا۟ إِلَىٰ كَلِمَةٍ سَوَآءٍۭ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمْ أَلَّا نَعْبُدَ إِلَّا ٱللَّـهَ وَلَا نُشْرِكَ بِهِۦ شَيْـًٔا وَلَا يَتَّخِذَ بَعْضُنَا بَعْضًا أَرْبَابًا مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّـهِ فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَقُولُوا۟ ٱشْهَدُوا۟ بِأَنَّا مُسْلِمُونَ

qul yāʾahla l-kitābi taʿālaw ilā kalimatin sawāʾin baynanā wa-baynakum allā naʿbuda illā allāha wa-lā nushrika bihi shayʾan wa-lā yattakhidha baʿḍunā baʿḍan arbāban min dūni allāhi fa-in tawallaw fa-qūlū ishhadū bi-annā muslimūna

Say: "O People of the Book! come to common terms as between us and you: That we worship none but Allah; that we associate no partners with him; that we erect not, from among ourselves, Lords and patrons other than Allah." If then they turn back, say ye: "Bear witness that we (at least) are Muslims (bowing to Allah's Will).

Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:151

سَنُلْقِى فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ ٱلرُّعْبَ بِمَآ أَشْرَكُوا۟ بِٱللَّـهِ مَا لَمْ يُنَزِّلْ بِهِۦ سُلْطَٰنًا وَمَأْوَىٰهُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَبِئْسَ مَثْوَى ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

sa-nulqī fī qulūbi lladhīna kafarū l-ruʿba bimā ashrakū billāhi mā lam yunazzil bihi sulṭānan wa-maʾwāhumu l-nāru wa-biʾsa mathwā l-ẓālimīna

Soon shall We cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers, for that they joined companions with Allah, for which He had sent no authority: their abode will be the Fire: And evil is the home of the wrong-doers!

Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:186

لَتُبْلَوُنَّ فِىٓ أَمْوَٰلِكُمْ وَأَنفُسِكُمْ وَلَتَسْمَعُنَّ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ وَمِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوٓا۟ أَذًى كَثِيرًا وَإِن تَصْبِرُوا۟ وَتَتَّقُوا۟ فَإِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ عَزْمِ ٱلْأُمُورِ

la-tublawunna fī amwālikum wa-anfusikum wa-latasmaʿunna mina lladhīna ūtū l-kitāba min qablikum wa-mina lladhīna ashrakū adhan kathīran wa-in taṣbirū wa-tattaqū fa-inna dhālika min ʿazmi l-umūri

Ye shall certainly be tried and tested in your possessions and in your personal selves; and ye shall certainly Hear much that will grieve you, from those who received the Book before you and from those who worship many gods. But if ye persevere patiently, and guard against evil,-then that will be a determining factor in all affairs.

Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:36

وَٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ وَلَا تُشْرِكُوا۟ بِهِۦ شَيْـًٔا وَبِٱلْوَٰلِدَيْنِ إِحْسَٰنًا وَبِذِى ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ وَٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ وَٱلْمَسَٰكِينِ وَٱلْجَارِ ذِى ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ وَٱلْجَارِ ٱلْجُنُبِ وَٱلصَّاحِبِ بِٱلْجَنۢبِ وَٱبْنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَمَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَٰنُكُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ لَا يُحِبُّ مَن كَانَ مُخْتَالًا فَخُورًا

wa-iʿbudū allāha wa-lā tushrikū bihi shayʾan wa-bil-wālidayni iḥsānan wa-bidhī l-qurbā wa-l-yatāmā wa-l-masākīni wa-l-jāri dhī l-qurbā wa-l-jāri l-junubi wa-l-ṣāḥibi bil-janbi wa-ibni l-sabīli wa-mā malakat aymānukum inna allāha lā yuḥibbu man kāna mukhtālan fakhūran

Serve Allah, and join not any partners with Him; and do good- to parents, kinsfolk, orphans, those in need, neighbours who are near, neighbours who are strangers, the companion by your side, the wayfarer (ye meet), and what your right hands possess: For Allah loveth not the arrogant, the vainglorious;-

Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:48

إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ لَا يَغْفِرُ أَن يُشْرَكَ بِهِۦ وَيَغْفِرُ مَا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَمَن يُشْرِكْ بِٱللَّـهِ فَقَدِ ٱفْتَرَىٰٓ إِثْمًا عَظِيمًا

inna allāha lā yaghfiru an yushraka bihi wayaghfiru mā dūna dhālika li-man yashāʾu wa-man yushrik billāhi fa-qadi iftarā ithman ʿaẓīman

Allah forgiveth not that partners should be set up with Him; but He forgiveth anything else, to whom He pleaseth; to set up partners with Allah is to devise a sin Most heinous indeed.

Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:116

إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ لَا يَغْفِرُ أَن يُشْرَكَ بِهِۦ وَيَغْفِرُ مَا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَمَن يُشْرِكْ بِٱللَّـهِ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ ضَلَٰلًۢا بَعِيدًا

inna allāha lā yaghfiru an yushraka bihi wayaghfiru mā dūna dhālika li-man yashāʾu wa-man yushrik billāhi fa-qad ḍalla ḍalālan baʿīdan

Allah forgiveth not (The sin of) joining other gods with Him; but He forgiveth whom He pleaseth other sins than this: one who joins other gods with Allah, Hath strayed far, far away (from the right).

Sura al-Māʾidah 5:72

لَقَدْ كَفَرَ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ هُوَ ٱلْمَسِيحُ ٱبْنُ مَرْيَمَ وَقَالَ ٱلْمَسِيحُ يَٰبَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ رَبِّى وَرَبَّكُمْ إِنَّهُۥ مَن يُشْرِكْ بِٱللَّـهِ فَقَدْ حَرَّمَ ٱللَّـهُ عَلَيْهِ ٱلْجَنَّةَ وَمَأْوَىٰهُ ٱلنَّارُ وَمَا لِلظَّٰلِمِينَ مِنْ أَنصَارٍ

la-qad kafara lladhīna qālū inna allāha huwa l-masīḥu ibnu maryama wa-qāla l-masīḥu yā-banī isrāʾīla iʿbudū allāha rabbī wa-rabbakum innahu man yushrik billāhi fa-qad ḥarrama allāhu ʿalayhi l-jannata wa-maʾwāhu l-nāru wa-mā lil-ẓālimīna min anṣārin

They do blaspheme who say: "Allah is Christ the son of Mary." But said Christ: "O Children of Israel! worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Whoever joins other gods with Allah,- Allah will forbid him the garden, and the Fire will be his abode. There will for the wrong-doers be no one to help.

Sura al-Māʾidah 5:82

لَتَجِدَنَّ أَشَدَّ ٱلنَّاسِ عَدَٰوَةً لِّلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱلْيَهُودَ وَٱلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا۟ وَلَتَجِدَنَّ أَقْرَبَهُم مَّوَدَّةً لِّلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا نَصَٰرَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّ مِنْهُمْ قِسِّيسِينَ وَرُهْبَانًا وَأَنَّهُمْ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ

la-tajidanna ashadda l-nāsi ʿadāwatan li-lladhīna āmanū l-yahūda wa-lladhīna ashrakū wa-la-tajidanna aqrabahum mawaddatan li-lladhīna āmanū lladhīna qālū innā naṣārā dhālika bi-anna minhum qissīsīna wa-ruhbānan wa-annahum lā yastakbirūna

Strongest among men in enmity to the believers wilt thou find the Jews and Pagans; and nearest among them in love to the believers wilt thou find those who say, "We are Christians": because amongst these are men devoted to learning and men who have renounced the world, and they are not arrogant.

Sura al-Anʿām 6:19

قُلْ أَىُّ شَىْءٍ أَكْبَرُ شَهَٰدَةً قُلِ ٱللَّـهُ شَهِيدٌۢ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَكُمْ وَأُوحِىَ إِلَىَّ هَٰذَا ٱلْقُرْءَانُ لِأُنذِرَكُم بِهِۦ وَمَنۢ بَلَغَ أَئِنَّكُمْ لَتَشْهَدُونَ أَنَّ مَعَ ٱللَّـهِ ءَالِهَةً أُخْرَىٰ قُل لَّآ أَشْهَدُ قُلْ إِنَّمَا هُوَ إِلَٰهٌ وَٰحِدٌ وَإِنَّنِى بَرِىٓءٌ مِّمَّا تُشْرِكُونَ

qul ayyu shayʾin akbaru shahādatan quli allāhu shahīdun baynī wa-baynakum wa-ūḥiya ilayya hādhā l-qurʾānu li-undhirakum bihi wa-man balagha a-innakum la-tashhadūna annā maʿa allāhi ālihatan ukhrā qul lā ashhadu qul innamā huwa ilāhun wāḥidun wa-innanī barīʾun mimmā tushrikūna

Say: "What thing is most weighty in evidence?" Say: "Allah is witness between me and you; This Qur'an hath been revealed to me by inspiration, that I may warn you and all whom it reaches. Can ye possibly bear witness that besides Allah there is another Allah?" Say: "Nay! I cannot bear witness!" Say: "But in truth He is the one Allah, and I truly am innocent of (your blasphemy of) joining others with Him."

Sura al-Anʿām 6:22

وَيَوْمَ نَحْشُرُهُمْ جَمِيعًا ثُمَّ نَقُولُ لِلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوٓا۟ أَيْنَ شُرَكَآؤُكُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ كُنتُمْ تَزْعُمُونَ

wa-yawma naḥshuruhum jamīʿan thumma naqūlu li-lladhīna ashrakū ayna shurakāʾukumu lladhīna kuntum tazʿumūna

One day shall We gather them all together: We shall say to those who ascribed partners (to Us): "Where are the partners whom ye (invented and) talked about?"

Sura al-Anʿām 6:41

بَلْ إِيَّاهُ تَدْعُونَ فَيَكْشِفُ مَا تَدْعُونَ إِلَيْهِ إِن شَآءَ وَتَنسَوْنَ مَا تُشْرِكُونَ

bal iyyāhu tadʿūna fa-yakshifu mā tadʿūna ilayhi in shāʾa wa-tansawna mā tushrikūna

"Nay,- On Him would ye call, and if it be His will, He would remove (the distress) which occasioned your call upon Him, and ye would forget (the false gods) which ye join with Him!"

Sura al-Anʿām 6:64

قُلِ ٱللَّـهُ يُنَجِّيكُم مِّنْهَا وَمِن كُلِّ كَرْبٍ ثُمَّ أَنتُمْ تُشْرِكُونَ

quli allāhu yunajjīkum minhā wa-min kulli karbin thumma antum tushrikūna

Say "It is Allah that delivereth you from these and all (other) distresses: and yet ye worship false gods!"

Sura al-Anʿām 6:78

فَلَمَّا رَءَا ٱلشَّمْسَ بَازِغَةً قَالَ هَٰذَا رَبِّى هَٰذَآ أَكْبَرُ فَلَمَّآ أَفَلَتْ قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ إِنِّى بَرِىٓءٌ مِّمَّا تُشْرِكُونَ

fa-lammā raʾā l-shamsa bāzighatan qalā hādhā rabbī hādhā akbaru fa-lammā afalat qalā yā-qawmi innī barīʾun mimmā tushrikūna

When he saw the sun rising in splendour, he said: "This is my Lord; this is the greatest (of all)." But when the sun set, he said: "O my people! I am indeed free from your (guilt) of giving partners to Allah.

Sura al-Anʿām 6:80

وَحَآجَّهُۥ قَوْمُهُۥ قَالَ أَتُحَٰٓجُّوٓنِّى فِى ٱللَّـهِ وَقَدْ هَدَىٰنِ وَلَآ أَخَافُ مَا تُشْرِكُونَ بِهِۦٓ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ رَبِّى شَيْـًٔا وَسِعَ رَبِّى كُلَّ شَىْءٍ عِلْمًا أَفَلَا تَتَذَكَّرُونَ

waḥājjahu qawmuhu qalā atuḥājjūnnī fī allāhi wa-qad hadani wa-lā akhāfu mā tushrikūna bihi illā an yashāʾa rabbī shayʾan wasiʿa rabbī kulla shayʾin ʿilman a-fa-lā tatadhakkarūna

His people disputed with him. He said: "(Come) ye to dispute with me, about Allah, when He (Himself) hath guided me? I fear not (the beings) ye associate with Allah: Unless my Lord willeth, (nothing can happen). My Lord comprehendeth in His knowledge all things. Will ye not (yourselves) be admonished?

Sura al-Anʿām 6:81

وَكَيْفَ أَخَافُ مَآ أَشْرَكْتُمْ وَلَا تَخَافُونَ أَنَّكُمْ أَشْرَكْتُم بِٱللَّـهِ مَا لَمْ يُنَزِّلْ بِهِۦ عَلَيْكُمْ سُلْطَٰنًا فَأَىُّ ٱلْفَرِيقَيْنِ أَحَقُّ بِٱلْأَمْنِ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ

wa-kayfa akhāfu mā ashraktum wa-lā takhāfūna annakum ashraktum billāhi mā lam yunazzil bihi ʿalaykum sulṭānan fa-ayyu l-farīqayni aḥaqqu bil-amni in kuntum taʿlamūna

"How should I fear (the beings) ye associate with Allah, when ye fear not to give partners to Allah without any warrant having been given to you? Which of (us) two parties hath more right to security? (tell me) if ye know.

Sura al-Anʿām 6:88

ذَٰلِكَ هُدَى ٱللَّـهِ يَهْدِى بِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِۦ وَلَوْ أَشْرَكُوا۟ لَحَبِطَ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ

dhālika huda allāhi yahdī bihi man yashāʾu min ʿibādihi wa-law ashrakū la-ḥabiṭa ʿanhum mā kānū yaʿmalūna

This is the guidance of Allah: He giveth that guidance to whom He pleaseth, of His worshippers. If they were to join other gods with Him, all that they did would be vain for them.

Sura al-Anʿām 6:107

وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّـهُ مَآ أَشْرَكُوا۟ وَمَا جَعَلْنَٰكَ عَلَيْهِمْ حَفِيظًا وَمَآ أَنتَ عَلَيْهِم بِوَكِيلٍ

wa-law shāʾa allāhu mā ashrakū wa-mā jaʿalnāka ʿalayhim ḥafīẓan wa-mā anta ʿalayhim bi-wakīlin

If it had been Allah's plan, they would not have taken false gods: but We made thee not one to watch over their doings, nor art thou set over them to dispose of their affairs.

Sura al-Anʿām 6:148

سَيَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا۟ لَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّـهُ مَآ أَشْرَكْنَا وَلَآ ءَابَآؤُنَا وَلَا حَرَّمْنَا مِن شَىْءٍ كَذَٰلِكَ كَذَّبَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ حَتَّىٰ ذَاقُوا۟ بَأْسَنَا قُلْ هَلْ عِندَكُم مِّنْ عِلْمٍ فَتُخْرِجُوهُ لَنَآ إِن تَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ وَإِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا تَخْرُصُونَ

sa-yaqūlu lladhīna ashrakū law shāʾa allāhu mā ashraknā wa-lā ābāʾunā wa-lā ḥarramnā min shayʾin ka-dhālika kadhdhaba lladhīna min qablihim ḥattā dhāqū baʾsanā qul hal ʿindakum min ʿilmin fa-tukhrijūhu lanā in tattabiʿūna illā l-ẓanna wa-in antum illā takhruṣūna

Those who give partners (to Allah) will say: "If Allah had wished, we should not have given partners to Him nor would our fathers; nor should we have had any taboos." So did their ancestors argue falsely, until they tasted of Our wrath. Say: "Have ye any (certain) knowledge? If so, produce it before us. Ye follow nothing but conjecture: ye do nothing but lie."

Sura al-Anʿām 6:151

قُلْ تَعَالَوْا۟ أَتْلُ مَا حَرَّمَ رَبُّكُمْ عَلَيْكُمْ أَلَّا تُشْرِكُوا۟ بِهِۦ شَيْـًٔا وَبِٱلْوَٰلِدَيْنِ إِحْسَٰنًا وَلَا تَقْتُلُوٓا۟ أَوْلَٰدَكُم مِّنْ إِمْلَٰقٍ نَّحْنُ نَرْزُقُكُمْ وَإِيَّاهُمْ وَلَا تَقْرَبُوا۟ ٱلْفَوَٰحِشَ مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا وَمَا بَطَنَ وَلَا تَقْتُلُوا۟ ٱلنَّفْسَ ٱلَّتِى حَرَّمَ ٱللَّـهُ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ ذَٰلِكُمْ وَصَّىٰكُم بِهِۦ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ

qul taʿālaw atlu mā ḥarrama rabbukum ʿalaykum allā tushrikū bihi shayʾan wa-bil-wālidayni iḥsānan wa-lā taqtulū awlādakum min imlāqin nnaḥnu narzuqukum wa-iyyāhum wa-lā taqrabū l-fawāḥisha mā ẓahara minhā wa-mā baṭana wa-lā taqtulū l-nafsa allatī ḥarrama allāhu illā bil-ḥaqqi dhālikum waṣṣakum bihi la-ʿallakum taʿqilūna

Say: "Come, I will rehearse what Allah hath (really) prohibited you from": Join not anything as equal with Him; be good to your parents; kill not your children on a plea of want;- We provide sustenance for you and for them;- come not nigh to shameful deeds. Whether open or secret; take not life, which Allah hath made sacred, except by way of justice and law: thus doth He command you, that ye may learn wisdom.

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:33

قُلْ إِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ رَبِّىَ ٱلْفَوَٰحِشَ مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا وَمَا بَطَنَ وَٱلْإِثْمَ وَٱلْبَغْىَ بِغَيْرِ ٱلْحَقِّ وَأَن تُشْرِكُوا۟ بِٱللَّـهِ مَا لَمْ يُنَزِّلْ بِهِۦ سُلْطَٰنًا وَأَن تَقُولُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّـهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ

qul innamā ḥarrama rabbiya l-fawāḥisha mā ẓahara minhā wa-mā baṭana wa-l-ithma wa-l-bagha bi-ghayri l-ḥaqqi wa-an tushrikū billāhi mā lam yunazzil bihi sulṭānan wa-an taqūlū ʿalā allāhi mā lā taʿlamūna

Say: the things that my Lord hath indeed forbidden are: shameful deeds, whether open or secret; sins and trespasses against truth or reason; assigning of partners to Allah, for which He hath given no authority; and saying things about Allah of which ye have no knowledge.

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:173

أَوْ تَقُولُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَشْرَكَ ءَابَآؤُنَا مِن قَبْلُ وَكُنَّا ذُرِّيَّةً مِّنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ أَفَتُهْلِكُنَا بِمَا فَعَلَ ٱلْمُبْطِلُونَ

aw taqūlū innamā ashraka ābāʾunā min qablu wa-kunnā dhurriyyatan min baʿdihim afatuhlikunā bi-mā faʿala l-mubṭilūna

Or lest ye should say: "Our fathers before us may have taken false gods, but we are (their) descendants after them: wilt Thou then destroy us because of the deeds of men who were futile?"

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:190

فَلَمَّآ ءَاتَىٰهُمَا صَٰلِحًا جَعَلَا لَهُۥ شُرَكَآءَ فِيمَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمَا فَتَعَٰلَى ٱللَّـهُ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ

fa-lammā ātahumā ṣāliḥan jaʿalā lahu shurakāʾa fīmā ātahumā fa-taʿālā allāhu ʿammā yushrikūna

But when He giveth them a goodly child, they ascribe to others a share in the gift they have received: but Allah is exalted high above the partners they ascribe to Him.

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:191

أَيُشْرِكُونَ مَا لَا يَخْلُقُ شَيْـًٔا وَهُمْ يُخْلَقُونَ

ayushrikūna mā lā yakhluqu shayʾan wa-hum yukhlaqūna

Do they indeed ascribe to Him as partners things that can create nothing, but are themselves created?

Sura al-Tawbah 9:31

ٱتَّخَذُوٓا۟ أَحْبَارَهُمْ وَرُهْبَٰنَهُمْ أَرْبَابًا مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّـهِ وَٱلْمَسِيحَ ٱبْنَ مَرْيَمَ وَمَآ أُمِرُوٓا۟ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُوٓا۟ إِلَٰهًا وَٰحِدًا لَّآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ

ittakhadhū aḥbārahum wa-ruhbānahum arbāban min dūni allāhi wa-l-masīḥa ibna maryama wa-mā umirū illā li-yaʿbudū ilāhan wāḥidan lā ilāha illā huwa subḥānahu ʿammā yushrikūna

They take their priests and their anchorites to be their lords in derogation of Allah, and (they take as their Lord) Christ the son of Mary; yet they were commanded to worship but One Allah: there is no god but He. Praise and glory to Him: (Far is He) from having the partners they associate (with Him).

Sura Yūnus 10:18

وَيَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّـهِ مَا لَا يَضُرُّهُمْ وَلَا يَنفَعُهُمْ وَيَقُولُونَ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ شُفَعَٰٓؤُنَا عِندَ ٱللَّـهِ قُلْ أَتُنَبِّـُٔونَ ٱللَّـهَ بِمَا لَا يَعْلَمُ فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَلَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ

wa-yaʿbudūna min dūni allāhi mā lā yaḍurruhum wa-lā yanfaʿuhum wa-yaqūlūna hāʾulāʾi shufaʿāʾunā ʿinda allāhi qul a-tunabbiʾūna allāha bi-mā lā yaʿlamu fī l-samāwāti wa-lā fī l-arḍi subḥānahu wa-taʿāla ʿammā yushrikūna

They serve, besides Allah, things that hurt them not nor profit them, and they say: "These are our intercessors with Allah." Say: "Do ye indeed inform Allah of something He knows not, in the heavens or on earth?- Glory to Him! and far is He above the partners they ascribe (to Him)!"

Sura Yūnus 10:28

وَيَوْمَ نَحْشُرُهُمْ جَمِيعًا ثُمَّ نَقُولُ لِلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا۟ مَكَانَكُمْ أَنتُمْ وَشُرَكَآؤُكُمْ فَزَيَّلْنَا بَيْنَهُمْ وَقَالَ شُرَكَآؤُهُم مَّا كُنتُمْ إِيَّانَا تَعْبُدُونَ

wa-yawma naḥshuruhum jamīʿan thumma naqūlu li-lladhīna ashrakū makānakum antum wa-shurakāʾukum fa-zayyalna baynahum wa-qāla shurakāʾuhum mā kuntum iyyānā taʿbudūna

One day shall We gather them all together. Then shall We say to those who joined gods (with Us): "To your place! ye and those ye joined as 'partners' We shall separate them, and their "Partners" shall say: "It was not us that ye worshipped!

Sura Hūd 11:54

إِن نَّقُولُ إِلَّا ٱعْتَرَىٰكَ بَعْضُ ءَالِهَتِنَا بِسُوٓءٍ قَالَ إِنِّىٓ أُشْهِدُ ٱللَّـهَ وَٱشْهَدُوٓا۟ أَنِّى بَرِىٓءٌ مِّمَّا تُشْرِكُونَ

in naqūlu illā ʿtaraka baʿḍu ālihatinā bi-sūʾin qalā innī ushhidu allāha wa-ishhadū annī barīʾun mimmā tushrikūna

"We say nothing but that (perhaps) some of our gods may have seized thee with imbecility." He said: "I call Allah to witness, and do ye bear witness, that I am free from the sin of ascribing, to Him,

Sura Yūsuf 12:38

وَٱتَّبَعْتُ مِلَّةَ ءَابَآءِىٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسْحَٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ مَا كَانَ لَنَآ أَن نُّشْرِكَ بِٱللَّـهِ مِن شَىْءٍ ذَٰلِكَ مِن فَضْلِ ٱللَّـهِ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَشْكُرُونَ

wa-ittabaʿtu millata ābāī ibrāhīma wa-isḥāqa wa-yaʿqūba mā kāna lanā an nushrika billāhi min shayʾin dhālika min faḍli allāhi ʿalaynā wa-ʿala l-nāsi wa-lākinna akthara l-nāsi lā yashkurūna

"And I follow the ways of my fathers,- Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; and never could we attribute any partners whatever to Allah: that (comes) of the grace of Allah to us and to mankind: yet most men are not grateful.

Sura al-Raʿd 13:36

وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَاتَيْنَٰهُمُ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ يَفْرَحُونَ بِمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ وَمِنَ ٱلْأَحْزَابِ مَن يُنكِرُ بَعْضَهُۥ قُلْ إِنَّمَآ أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَعْبُدَ ٱللَّـهَ وَلَآ أُشْرِكَ بِهِۦٓ إِلَيْهِ أَدْعُوا۟ وَإِلَيْهِ مَـَٔابِ

wa-lladhīna ātaynāhumu l-kitāba yafraḥūna bimā unzila ilayka wa-mina l-aḥzābi man yunkiru baʿḍahu qul innamā umirtu an aʿbuda allāha wa-lā ushrika bihi ilayhi adʿū wa-ilayhi maʾābi

Those to whom We have given the Book rejoice at what hath been revealed unto thee: but there are among the clans those who reject a part thereof. Say: "I am commanded to worship Allah, and not to join partners with Him. Unto Him do I call, and unto Him is my return."

Sura Ibrāhīm 14:22

وَقَالَ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ لَمَّا قُضِىَ ٱلْأَمْرُ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ وَعَدَكُمْ وَعْدَ ٱلْحَقِّ وَوَعَدتُّكُمْ فَأَخْلَفْتُكُمْ وَمَا كَانَ لِىَ عَلَيْكُم مِّن سُلْطَٰنٍ إِلَّآ أَن دَعَوْتُكُمْ فَٱسْتَجَبْتُمْ لِى فَلَا تَلُومُونِى وَلُومُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَكُم مَّآ أَنَا۠ بِمُصْرِخِكُمْ وَمَآ أَنتُم بِمُصْرِخِىَّ إِنِّى كَفَرْتُ بِمَآ أَشْرَكْتُمُونِ مِن قَبْلُ إِنَّ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ

wa-qāla l-shayṭānu lammā quḍiya l-amru inna allāha waʿadakum waʿda l-ḥaqqi wa-waʿadttukum fa-akhlaftukum wa-mā kāna liya ʿalaykum min sulṭānin illā an daʿawtukum fa-istajabtum lī fa-lā talūmūnī wa-lūmū anfusakum mā anā bimuṣrikhikum wa-mā antum bimuṣrikhiyya innī kafartu bimā ashraktumūni min qablu inna l-ẓālimīna lahum ʿadhābun alīmun

And Satan will say when the matter is decided: "It was Allah Who gave you a promise of Truth: I too promised, but I failed in my promise to you. I had no authority over you except to call you but ye listened to me: then reproach not me, but reproach your own souls. I cannot listen to your cries, nor can ye listen to mine. I reject your former act in associating me with Allah. For wrong-doers there must be a grievous penalty."

Sura al-Naḥl 16:1

أَتَىٰٓ أَمْرُ ٱللَّـهِ فَلَا تَسْتَعْجِلُوهُ سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ

ata amru allāhi fa-lā tastaʿjilūhu subḥānahu wa-taʿāla ʿammā yushrikūna

(Inevitable) cometh (to pass) the Command of Allah: seek ye not then to hasten it: Glory to Him, and far is He above having the partners they ascribe unto Him!

Sura al-Naḥl 16:3

خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ بِٱلْحَقِّ تَعَٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ

khalaqa l-samāwāti wa-l-arḍa bil-ḥaqqi taʿāla ʿammā yushrikūna

He has created the heavens and the earth for just ends: Far is He above having the partners they ascribe to Him!

Sura al-Naḥl 16:35

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا۟ لَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّـهُ مَا عَبَدْنَا مِن دُونِهِۦ مِن شَىْءٍ نَّحْنُ وَلَآ ءَابَآؤُنَا وَلَا حَرَّمْنَا مِن دُونِهِۦ مِن شَىْءٍ كَذَٰلِكَ فَعَلَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَهَلْ عَلَى ٱلرُّسُلِ إِلَّا ٱلْبَلَٰغُ ٱلْمُبِينُ

wa-qāla lladhīna ashrakū law shāʾa allāhu mā ʿabadnā min dūnihi min shayʾin nnaḥnu wa-lā ābāʾunā wa-lā ḥarramnā min dūnihi min shayʾin ka-dhālika faʿala lladhīna min qablihim fa-hal ʿalā l-rusuli illā l-balāghu l-mubīnu

The worshippers of false gods say: "If Allah had so willed, we should not have worshipped aught but Him - neither we nor our fathers,- nor should we have prescribed prohibitions other than His." So did those who went before them. But what is the mission of messengers but to preach the Clear Message?

Sura al-Naḥl 16:54

ثُمَّ إِذَا كَشَفَ ٱلضُّرَّ عَنكُمْ إِذَا فَرِيقٌ مِّنكُم بِرَبِّهِمْ يُشْرِكُونَ

thumma idhā kashafa l-ḍurra ʿankum idhā farīqun minkum bi-rabbihim yushrikūna

Yet, when He removes the distress from you, behold! some of you turn to other gods to join with their Lord-

Sura al-Naḥl 16:86

وَإِذَا رَءَا ٱلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا۟ شُرَكَآءَهُمْ قَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ شُرَكَآؤُنَا ٱلَّذِينَ كُنَّا نَدْعُوا۟ مِن دُونِكَ فَأَلْقَوْا۟ إِلَيْهِمُ ٱلْقَوْلَ إِنَّكُمْ لَكَٰذِبُونَ

wa-idhā raʾā lladhīna ashrakū shurakāʾahum qālū rabbanā hāʾulāʾi shurakāʾunā lladhīna kunnā nadʿū min dūnika fa-alqaw ilayhimu l-qawla innakum la-kādhibūna

When those who gave partners to Allah will see their "partners", they will say: "Our Lord! these are our 'partners,' those whom we used to invoke besides Thee." But they will throw back their word at them (and say): "Indeed ye are liars!"

Sura al-Isrāʾ 17:64

وَٱسْتَفْزِزْ مَنِ ٱسْتَطَعْتَ مِنْهُم بِصَوْتِكَ وَأَجْلِبْ عَلَيْهِم بِخَيْلِكَ وَرَجِلِكَ وَشَارِكْهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَمْوَٰلِ وَٱلْأَوْلَٰدِ وَعِدْهُمْ وَمَا يَعِدُهُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ إِلَّا غُرُورًا

wa-istafziz mani istaṭaʿta minhum bi-ṣawtika wa-ajlib ʿalayhim bi-khaylika wa-rajilika wa-shārikhum fī l-amwāli wa-l-awlādi wa-ʿidhum wa-mā yaʿiduhumu l-shayṭānu illā ghurūran

"Lead to destruction those whom thou canst among them, with thy (seductive) voice; make assaults on them with thy cavalry and thy infantry; mutually share with them wealth and children; and make promises to them." But Satan promises them nothing but deceit.

Sura al-Kahf 18:26

قُلِ ٱللَّـهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا لَبِثُوا۟ لَهُۥ غَيْبُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ أَبْصِرْ بِهِۦ وَأَسْمِعْ مَا لَهُم مِّن دُونِهِۦ مِن وَلِىٍّ وَلَا يُشْرِكُ فِى حُكْمِهِۦٓ أَحَدًا

quli allāhu aʿlamu bi-mā labithū lahu ghaybu l-samāwāti wa-l-arḍi abṣir bihi wa-asmiʿ mā lahum min dūnihi min waliyyin wa-lā yushriku fī ḥukmihi aḥadan

Say: "Allah knows best how long they stayed: with Him is (the knowledge of) the secrets of the heavens and the earth: how clearly He sees, how finely He hears (everything)! They have no protector other than Him; nor does He share His Command with any person whatsoever.

Sura al-Kahf 18:38

لَّٰكِنَّا۠ هُوَ ٱللَّـهُ رَبِّى وَلَآ أُشْرِكُ بِرَبِّىٓ أَحَدًا

llākinnā huwa allāhu rabbī wa-lā ushriku bi-rabbī aḥadan

"But (I think) for my part that He is Allah, My Lord, and none shall I associate with my Lord.

Sura al-Kahf 18:42

وَأُحِيطَ بِثَمَرِهِۦ فَأَصْبَحَ يُقَلِّبُ كَفَّيْهِ عَلَىٰ مَآ أَنفَقَ فِيهَا وَهِىَ خَاوِيَةٌ عَلَىٰ عُرُوشِهَا وَيَقُولُ يَٰلَيْتَنِى لَمْ أُشْرِكْ بِرَبِّىٓ أَحَدًا

wa-uḥīṭa bithamarihi fa-aṣbaḥa yuqallibu kaffayhi ʿalā mā anfaqa fīhā wahiya khāwiyatun ʿalā ʿurūshihā wa-yaqūlu yā-laytanī lam ushrik bi-rabbī aḥadan

So his fruits (and enjoyment) were encompassed (with ruin), and he remained twisting and turning his hands over what he had spent on his property, which had (now) tumbled to pieces to its very foundations, and he could only say, "Woe is me! Would I had never ascribed partners to my Lord and Cherisher!"

Sura al-Kahf 18:110

قُلْ إِنَّمَآ أَنَا۠ بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَىَّ أَنَّمَآ إِلَٰهُكُمْ إِلَٰهٌ وَٰحِدٌ فَمَن كَانَ يَرْجُوا۟ لِقَآءَ رَبِّهِۦ فَلْيَعْمَلْ عَمَلًا صَٰلِحًا وَلَا يُشْرِكْ بِعِبَادَةِ رَبِّهِۦٓ أَحَدًۢا

qul innamā anā basharun mithlukum yūḥā ilayya annamā ilāhukum ilāhun wāḥidun fa-man kāna yarjū liqāʾa rabbihi fa-l-yaʿmal ʿamalan ṣāliḥan wa-lā yushrik biʿibādati rabbihi aḥadan

Say: "I am but a man like yourselves, (but) the inspiration has come to me, that your Allah is one Allah: whoever expects to meet his Lord, let him work righteousness, and, in the worship of his Lord, admit no one as partner.

Sura Ṭā Hā 20:32

وَأَشْرِكْهُ فِىٓ أَمْرِى

wa-ashrikhu fī amrī

"And make him share my task:

Sura al-Ḥajj 22:17

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَٱلَّذِينَ هَادُوا۟ وَٱلصَّٰبِـِٔينَ وَٱلنَّصَٰرَىٰ وَٱلْمَجُوسَ وَٱلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوٓا۟ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ يَفْصِلُ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ شَهِيدٌ

inna lladhīna āmanū wa-lladhīna hādū wa-l-ṣābiʾīna wa-l-naṣārā wa-l-majūsa wa-lladhīna ashrakū inna allāha yafṣilu baynahum yawma l-qiyāmati inna allāha ʿalā kulli shayʾin shahīdun

Those who believe (in the Qur'an), those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Sabians, Christians, Magians, and Polytheists,- Allah will judge between them on the Day of Judgment: for Allah is witness of all things.

Sura al-Ḥajj 22:26

وَإِذْ بَوَّأْنَا لِإِبْرَٰهِيمَ مَكَانَ ٱلْبَيْتِ أَن لَّا تُشْرِكْ بِى شَيْـًٔا وَطَهِّرْ بَيْتِىَ لِلطَّآئِفِينَ وَٱلْقَآئِمِينَ وَٱلرُّكَّعِ ٱلسُّجُودِ

wa-idh bawwaʾnā li-ibrāhīma makāna l-bayti an lā tushrik bī shayʾan wa-ṭahhir baytiya lil-ṭāʾifīna wa-l-qāʾimīna wa-l-rukkaʿi l-sujūdi

Behold! We gave the site, to Abraham, of the (Sacred) House, (saying): "Associate not anything (in worship) with Me; and sanctify My House for those who compass it round, or stand up, or bow, or prostrate themselves (therein in prayer).

Sura al-Ḥajj 22:31

حُنَفَآءَ لِلَّـهِ غَيْرَ مُشْرِكِينَ بِهِۦ وَمَن يُشْرِكْ بِٱللَّـهِ فَكَأَنَّمَا خَرَّ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَتَخْطَفُهُ ٱلطَّيْرُ أَوْ تَهْوِى بِهِ ٱلرِّيحُ فِى مَكَانٍ سَحِيقٍ

ḥunafāʾa lillāhi ghayra mushrikīna bihi wa-man yushrik billāhi fa-kaʾannama kharra mina l-samāʾi fa-takhṭafuhu l-ṭayru aw tahwī bihi l-rīḥu fī makānin saḥīqin

Being true in faith to Allah, and never assigning partners to Him: if anyone assigns partners to Allah, is as if he had fallen from heaven and been snatched up by birds, or the wind had swooped (like a bird on its prey) and thrown him into a far-distant place.

Sura al-Muʾminūn 23:59

وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم بِرَبِّهِمْ لَا يُشْرِكُونَ

wa-lladhīna hum bi-rabbihim lā yushrikūna

Those who join not (in worship) partners with their Lord;

Sura al-Muʾminūn 23:92

عَٰلِمِ ٱلْغَيْبِ وَٱلشَّهَٰدَةِ فَتَعَٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ

ʿālimi l-ghaybi wa-l-shahādati fataʿāla ʿammā yushrikūna

He knows what is hidden and what is open: too high is He for the partners they attribute to Him!

Sura al-Nūr 24:55

وَعَدَ ٱللَّـهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مِنكُمْ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَيَسْتَخْلِفَنَّهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ كَمَا ٱسْتَخْلَفَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ وَلَيُمَكِّنَنَّ لَهُمْ دِينَهُمُ ٱلَّذِى ٱرْتَضَىٰ لَهُمْ وَلَيُبَدِّلَنَّهُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ خَوْفِهِمْ أَمْنًا يَعْبُدُونَنِى لَا يُشْرِكُونَ بِى شَيْـًٔا وَمَن كَفَرَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْفَٰسِقُونَ

waʿada allāhu lladhīna āmanū minkum wa-ʿamilū l-ṣāliḥāti la-yastakhlifannahum fī l-arḍi ka-mā istakhlafa lladhīna min qablihim wa-la-yumakkinanna lahum dīnahumu alladhī irtaḍā lahum wa-la-yubaddilannahum min baʿdi khawfihim amnan yaʿbudūnanī lā yushrikūna bī shayʾan wa-man kafara baʿda dhālika fa-ūlāʾika humu l-fāsiqūna

Allah has promised, to those among you who believe and work righteous deeds, that He will, of a surety, grant them in the land, inheritance (of power), as He granted it to those before them; that He will establish in authority their religion - the one which He has chosen for them; and that He will change (their state), after the fear in which they (lived), to one of security and peace: 'They will worship Me (alone) and not associate aught with Me. 'If any do reject Faith after this, they are rebellious and wicked.

Sura al-Naml 27:59

قُلِ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّـهِ وَسَلَٰمٌ عَلَىٰ عِبَادِهِ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱصْطَفَىٰٓ ءَآللَّەُ خَيْرٌ أَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ

quli l-ḥamdu lillāhi wa-salāmun ʿalā ʿibādihi lladhīna iṣṭafā ā-llahu khayrun ammā- yushrikūna

Say: Praise be to Allah, and Peace on his servants whom He has chosen (for his Message). (Who) is better?- Allah or the false gods they associate (with Him)?

Sura al-Naml 27:63

أَمَّن يَهْدِيكُمْ فِى ظُلُمَٰتِ ٱلْبَرِّ وَٱلْبَحْرِ وَمَن يُرْسِلُ ٱلرِّيَٰحَ بُشْرًۢا بَيْنَ يَدَىْ رَحْمَتِهِۦٓ أَءِلَٰهٌ مَّعَ ٱللَّـهِ تَعَٰلَى ٱللَّـهُ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ

a-man yahdīkum fī ẓulumāti l-barri wa-l-baḥri wa-man yursilu l-riyāḥa bushran bayna yada raḥmatihi a-ilāhun maʿa allāhi taʿāla allāhu ʿammā yushrikūna

Or, Who guides you through the depths of darkness on land and sea, and Who sends the winds as heralds of glad tidings, going before His Mercy? (Can there be another) god besides Allah?- High is Allah above what they associate with Him!
