(2:102) | وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ مَا تَتْلُوا۟ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينُ عَلَىٰ مُلْكِ سُلَيْمَٰنَ وَمَا كَفَرَ سُلَيْمَٰنُ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يُعَلِّمُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ ٱلسِّحْرَ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَى ٱلْمَلَكَيْنِ بِبَابِلَ هَٰرُوتَ وَمَٰرُوتَ وَمَا يُعَلِّمَانِ مِنْ أَحَدٍ حَتَّىٰ يَقُولَآ إِنَّمَا نَحْنُ فِتْنَةٌ فَلَا تَكْفُرْ فَيَتَعَلَّمُونَ مِنْهُمَا مَا يُفَرِّقُونَ بِهِۦ بَيْنَ ٱلْمَرْءِ وَزَوْجِهِۦ وَمَا هُم بِضَآرِّينَ بِهِۦ مِنْ أَحَدٍ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّـهِ وَيَتَعَلَّمُونَ مَا يَضُرُّهُمْ وَلَا يَنفَعُهُمْ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمُوا۟ لَمَنِ ٱشْتَرَىٰهُ مَا لَهُۥ فِى ٱلْأَخِرَةِ مِنْ خَلَٰقٍ وَلَبِئْسَ مَا شَرَوْا۟ بِهِۦٓ أَنفُسَهُمْ لَوْ كَانُوا۟ يَعْلَمُونَ | wa‑ittabaʿū mā tatlū l‑shayāṭīnu ʿalā mulki sulaymāna wa‑mā kafara sulaymānu wa‑lākinna l‑shayāṭīna kafarū yuʿallimūna l‑nāsa l‑siḥra wa‑mā unzila ʿalā l‑malakayni bi‑bābila hārūta wa‑mārūta wa‑mā yuʿallimāni min aḥadin ḥattā yaqūlā innamā naḥnu fitnatun fa‑lā takfur fa‑yataʿallamūna minhumā mā yufarriqūna bihi bayna l‑mari wa‑zawjihi wa‑mā hum bi‑ḍārrīna bihi min aḥadin illā bi‑idhni allāhi wa‑yataʿallamūna mā yaḍurruhum wa‑lā yanfaʿuhum wa‑la‑qad ʿalimū lamani ishtarāhu mā lahu fī l‑akhirati min khalāqin wa‑la‑biʾsa mā sharaw bihi anfusahum law kānū yaʿlamūna | They followed what the evil ones gave out (falsely) against
the power of Solomon: the blasphemers Were, not Solomon, but the evil ones,
teaching men Magic, and such things as came down at babylon to the angels
Harut and Marut. But neither of these taught anyone (Such things) without
saying: "We are only for trial; so do not blaspheme." They learned from
them the means to sow discord between man and wife. But they could not thus
harm anyone except by Allah's permission. And they learned what harmed them,
not what profited them. And they knew that the buyers of (magic) would have
no share in the happiness of the Hereafter. And vile was the price for
which they did sell their souls, if they but knew!
Sura al-Baqara 2:102 وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ مَا تَتْلُوا۟ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينُ عَلَىٰ مُلْكِ سُلَيْمَٰنَ وَمَا كَفَرَ سُلَيْمَٰنُ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يُعَلِّمُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ ٱلسِّحْرَ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَى ٱلْمَلَكَيْنِ بِبَابِلَ هَٰرُوتَ وَمَٰرُوتَ وَمَا يُعَلِّمَانِ مِنْ أَحَدٍ حَتَّىٰ يَقُولَآ إِنَّمَا نَحْنُ فِتْنَةٌ فَلَا تَكْفُرْ فَيَتَعَلَّمُونَ مِنْهُمَا مَا يُفَرِّقُونَ بِهِۦ بَيْنَ ٱلْمَرْءِ وَزَوْجِهِۦ وَمَا هُم بِضَآرِّينَ بِهِۦ مِنْ أَحَدٍ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّـهِ وَيَتَعَلَّمُونَ مَا يَضُرُّهُمْ وَلَا يَنفَعُهُمْ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمُوا۟ لَمَنِ ٱشْتَرَىٰهُ مَا لَهُۥ فِى ٱلْأَخِرَةِ مِنْ خَلَٰقٍ وَلَبِئْسَ مَا شَرَوْا۟ بِهِۦٓ أَنفُسَهُمْ لَوْ كَانُوا۟ يَعْلَمُونَ wa-ittabaʿū mā tatlū l-shayāṭīnu ʿalā mulki sulaymāna wa-mā kafara sulaymānu wa-lākinna l-shayāṭīna kafarū yuʿallimūna l-nāsa l-siḥra wa-mā unzila ʿalā l-malakayni bi-bābila hārūta wa-mārūta wa-mā yuʿallimāni min aḥadin ḥattā yaqūlā innamā naḥnu fitnatun fa-lā takfur fa-yataʿallamūna minhumā mā yufarriqūna bihi bayna l-mari wa-zawjihi wa-mā hum bi-ḍārrīna bihi min aḥadin illā bi-idhni allāhi wa-yataʿallamūna mā yaḍurruhum wa-lā yanfaʿuhum wa-la-qad ʿalimū lamani ishtarāhu mā lahu fī l-akhirati min khalāqin wa-la-biʾsa mā sharaw bihi anfusahum law kānū yaʿlamūna They followed what the evil ones gave out (falsely) against the power of Solomon: the blasphemers Were, not Solomon, but the evil ones, teaching men Magic, and such things as came down at babylon to the angels Harut and Marut. (2:207) | وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَشْرِى نَفْسَهُ ٱبْتِغَآءَ مَرْضَاتِ ٱللَّـهِ وَٱللَّـهُ رَءُوفٌۢ بِٱلْعِبَادِ | wa‑mina l‑nāsi man yashrī nafsahu ibtighāʾa marḍāti allāhi wallāhu raʾūfun bil‑ʿibādi | And there is the type of man who gives his life to earn the
pleasure of Allah: And Allah is full of kindness to (His) devotees.
Sura al-Baqara 2:207 وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَشْرِى نَفْسَهُ ٱبْتِغَآءَ مَرْضَاتِ ٱللَّـهِ وَٱللَّـهُ رَءُوفٌۢ بِٱلْعِبَادِ wa-mina l-nāsi man yashrī nafsahu ibtighāʾa marḍāti allāhi wallāhu raʾūfun bil-ʿibādi And there is the type of man who gives his life to earn the pleasure of Allah: And Allah is full of kindness to (His) devotees. |
(9:111) | إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ ٱشْتَرَىٰ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَأَمْوَٰلَهُم بِأَنَّ لَهُمُ ٱلْجَنَّةَ يُقَٰتِلُونَ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّـهِ فَيَقْتُلُونَ وَيُقْتَلُونَ وَعْدًا عَلَيْهِ حَقًّا فِى ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةِ وَٱلْإِنجِيلِ وَٱلْقُرْءَانِ وَمَنْ أَوْفَىٰ بِعَهْدِهِۦ مِنَ ٱللَّـهِ فَٱسْتَبْشِرُوا۟ بِبَيْعِكُمُ ٱلَّذِى بَايَعْتُم بِهِۦ وَذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ | inna allāha ishtarā mina l‑muʾminīna anfusahum wa‑amwālahum bi‑anna lahumu l‑jannata yuqātilūna fī sabīli allāhi fa‑yaqtulūna wa‑yuqtalūna waʿdan ʿalayhi ḥaqqan fī l‑tawrāti wa‑l‑injīli wa‑l‑qurʾāni wa‑man awfā biʿahdihi mina allāhi fa‑istabshirū bi‑bayʿikumu alladhī bāyaʿtum bihi wa‑dhālika huwa l‑fawzu l‑ʿaẓīmu | Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their
goods; for theirs (in return) is the garden (of Paradise): they fight in
His cause, and slay and are slain: a promise binding on Him in truth,
through the Law, the Gospel, and the Qur'an: and who is more faithful to
his covenant than Allah? then rejoice in the bargain which ye have concluded:
that is the achievement supreme.
Sura al-Tawbah 9:111 إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ ٱشْتَرَىٰ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَأَمْوَٰلَهُم بِأَنَّ لَهُمُ ٱلْجَنَّةَ يُقَٰتِلُونَ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّـهِ فَيَقْتُلُونَ وَيُقْتَلُونَ وَعْدًا عَلَيْهِ حَقًّا فِى ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةِ وَٱلْإِنجِيلِ وَٱلْقُرْءَانِ وَمَنْ أَوْفَىٰ بِعَهْدِهِۦ مِنَ ٱللَّـهِ فَٱسْتَبْشِرُوا۟ بِبَيْعِكُمُ ٱلَّذِى بَايَعْتُم بِهِۦ وَذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ inna allāha ishtarā mina l-muʾminīna anfusahum wa-amwālahum bi-anna lahumu l-jannata yuqātilūna fī sabīli allāhi fa-yaqtulūna wa-yuqtalūna waʿdan ʿalayhi ḥaqqan fī l-tawrāti wa-l-injīli wa-l-qurʾāni wa-man awfā biʿahdihi mina allāhi fa-istabshirū bi-bayʿikumu alladhī bāyaʿtum bihi wa-dhālika huwa l-fawzu l-ʿaẓīmu Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their goods; for theirs (in return) is the garden (of Paradise): they fight in His cause, and slay and are slain: a promise binding on Him in truth, through the Law, the Gospel, and the Qur'an: and who is more faithful to his covenant than Allah? then rejoice in the bargain which ye have concluded: that is the achievement supreme. |
(12:21) | وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِى ٱشْتَرَىٰهُ مِن مِّصْرَ لِٱمْرَأَتِهِۦٓ أَكْرِمِى مَثْوَىٰهُ عَسَىٰٓ أَن يَنفَعَنَآ أَوْ نَتَّخِذَهُۥ وَلَدًا وَكَذَٰلِكَ مَكَّنَّا لِيُوسُفَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلِنُعَلِّمَهُۥ مِن تَأْوِيلِ ٱلْأَحَادِيثِ وَٱللَّـهُ غَالِبٌ عَلَىٰٓ أَمْرِهِۦ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ | wa‑qāla alladhī ishtarāhu min miṣra li‑imraʾatihi akrimī mathwahu ʿasā an yanfaʿanā aw nattakhidhahu waladan wa‑ka‑dhālika makkannā li‑yūsufa fī l‑arḍi wa‑linuʿallimahu min taʾwīli l‑aḥādīthi wallāhu ghālibun ʿala amrihi wa‑lākinna akthara l‑nāsi lā yaʿlamūna | The man in Egypt who bought him, said to his wife: "Make his
stay (among us) honourable: may be he will bring us much good, or we shall
adopt him as a son." Thus did We establish Joseph in the land, that We
might teach him the interpretation of stories (and events). And Allah hath
full power and control over His affairs; but most among mankind know it
not.
Sura Yūsuf 12:21 وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِى ٱشْتَرَىٰهُ مِن مِّصْرَ لِٱمْرَأَتِهِۦٓ أَكْرِمِى مَثْوَىٰهُ عَسَىٰٓ أَن يَنفَعَنَآ أَوْ نَتَّخِذَهُۥ وَلَدًا وَكَذَٰلِكَ مَكَّنَّا لِيُوسُفَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلِنُعَلِّمَهُۥ مِن تَأْوِيلِ ٱلْأَحَادِيثِ وَٱللَّـهُ غَالِبٌ عَلَىٰٓ أَمْرِهِۦ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ wa-qāla alladhī ishtarāhu min miṣra li-imraʾatihi akrimī mathwahu ʿasā an yanfaʿanā aw nattakhidhahu waladan wa-ka-dhālika makkannā li-yūsufa fī l-arḍi wa-linuʿallimahu min taʾwīli l-aḥādīthi wallāhu ghālibun ʿala amrihi wa-lākinna akthara l-nāsi lā yaʿlamūna The man in Egypt who bought him, said to his wife: "Make his stay (among us) honourable: may be he will bring us much good, or we shall adopt him as a son." (31:6) | وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَشْتَرِى لَهْوَ ٱلْحَدِيثِ لِيُضِلَّ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّـهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ وَيَتَّخِذَهَا هُزُوًا أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُّهِينٌ | wa‑mina l‑nāsi man yashtarī lahwa l‑ḥadīthi li‑yuḍilla ʿan sabīli allāhi bi‑ghayri ʿilmin wa‑yattakhidhahā huzuwan ulāʾika lahum ʿadhābun muhīnun | But there are, among men, those who purchase idle tales,
without knowledge (or meaning), to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah and
throw ridicule (on the Path): for such there will be a Humiliating
Penalty.
Sura Luqmān 31:6 وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَشْتَرِى لَهْوَ ٱلْحَدِيثِ لِيُضِلَّ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّـهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ وَيَتَّخِذَهَا هُزُوًا أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُّهِينٌ wa-mina l-nāsi man yashtarī lahwa l-ḥadīthi li-yuḍilla ʿan sabīli allāhi bi-ghayri ʿilmin wa-yattakhidhahā huzuwan ulāʾika lahum ʿadhābun muhīnun But there are, among men, those who purchase idle tales, without knowledge (or meaning), to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah and throw ridicule (on the Path): for such there will be a Humiliating Penalty. |
