Sura al-Baqara 2:9

يُخَٰدِعُونَ ٱللَّـهَ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَمَا يَخْدَعُونَ إِلَّآ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ

yukhādiʿūna allāha wa-lladhīna āmanū wa-mā yakhdaʿūna illā anfusahum wa-mā yashʿurūna

Fain would they deceive Allah and those who believe, but they only deceive themselves, and realise (it) not!

Sura al-Baqara 2:12

أَلَآ إِنَّهُمْ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْسِدُونَ وَلَٰكِن لَّا يَشْعُرُونَ

āla innahum humu l-mufsidūna wa-lākin lā yashʿurūna

Of a surety, they are the ones who make mischief, but they realise (it) not.

Sura al-Baqara 2:154

وَلَا تَقُولُوا۟ لِمَن يُقْتَلُ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّـهِ أَمْوَٰتٌۢ بَلْ أَحْيَآءٌ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تَشْعُرُونَ

wa-lā taqūlū li-man yuqtalu fī sabīli allāhi amwātun bal aḥyāʾun wa-lākin lā tashʿurūna

And say not of those who are slain in the way of Allah: "They are dead." Nay, they are living, though ye perceive (it) not.

Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:69

وَدَّت طَّآئِفَةٌ مِّنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لَوْ يُضِلُّونَكُمْ وَمَا يُضِلُّونَ إِلَّآ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ

waddat ṭāʾifatun min ahli l-kitābi law yuḍillūnakum wa-mā yuḍillūna illā anfusahum wa-mā yashʿurūna

It is the wish of a section of the People of the Book to lead you astray. But they shall lead astray (Not you), but themselves, and they do not perceive!

Sura al-Anʿām 6:26

وَهُمْ يَنْهَوْنَ عَنْهُ وَيَنْـَٔوْنَ عَنْهُ وَإِن يُهْلِكُونَ إِلَّآ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ

wa-hum yanhawna ʿanhu wa-yanʾawna ʿanhu wa-in yuhlikūna illā anfusahum wa-mā yashʿurūna

Others they keep away from it, and themselves they keep away; but they only destroy their own souls, and they perceive it not.

Sura al-Anʿām 6:123

وَكَذَٰلِكَ جَعَلْنَا فِى كُلِّ قَرْيَةٍ أَكَٰبِرَ مُجْرِمِيهَا لِيَمْكُرُوا۟ فِيهَا وَمَا يَمْكُرُونَ إِلَّا بِأَنفُسِهِمْ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ

wa-ka-dhālika jaʿalnā fī kulli qaryatin akābira mujrimīhā li-yamkurū fīhā wa-mā yamkurūna illā bi-anfusihim wa-mā yashʿurūna

Thus have We placed leaders in every town, its wicked men, to plot (and burrow) therein: but they only plot against their own souls, and they perceive it not.

Sura al-Aʿrāf 7:95

ثُمَّ بَدَّلْنَا مَكَانَ ٱلسَّيِّئَةِ ٱلْحَسَنَةَ حَتَّىٰ عَفَوا۟ وَّقَالُوا۟ قَدْ مَسَّ ءَابَآءَنَا ٱلضَّرَّآءُ وَٱلسَّرَّآءُ فَأَخَذْنَٰهُم بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ

thumma baddalnā makāna l-sayyiati l-ḥasanata ḥattā ʿafaw wwa-qālū qad massa ābāʾanā l-ḍarrāʾu wa-l-sarrāʾu fa-akhadhnāhum baghtatan wa-hum lā yashʿurūna

Then We changed their suffering into prosperity, until they grew and multiplied, and began to say: "Our fathers (too) were touched by suffering and affluence" ... Behold! We called them to account of a sudden, while they realised not (their peril).

Sura Yūsuf 12:15

فَلَمَّا ذَهَبُوا۟ بِهِۦ وَأَجْمَعُوٓا۟ أَن يَجْعَلُوهُ فِى غَيَٰبَتِ ٱلْجُبِّ وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْهِ لَتُنَبِّئَنَّهُم بِأَمْرِهِمْ هَٰذَا وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ

fa-lammā dhahabū bihi wa-ajmaʿū an yajʿalūhu fī ghayābati l-jubbi wa-awḥaynā ilayhi la-tunabbiʾannahum bi-amrihim hādhā wa-hum lā yashʿurūna

So they did take him away, and they all agreed to throw him down to the bottom of the well: and We put into his heart (this Message): 'Of a surety thou shalt (one day) tell them the truth of this their affair while they know (thee) not'

Sura Yūsuf 12:107

أَفَأَمِنُوٓا۟ أَن تَأْتِيَهُمْ غَٰشِيَةٌ مِّنْ عَذَابِ ٱللَّـهِ أَوْ تَأْتِيَهُمُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ

a-fa-aminū an taʾtiyahum ghāshiyatun min ʿadhābi allāhi aw taʾtiyahumu l-sāʿatu baghtatan wa-hum lā yashʿurūna

Do they then feel secure from the coming against them of the covering veil of the wrath of Allah,- or of the coming against them of the (final) Hour all of a sudden while they perceive not?

Sura al-Naḥl 16:21

أَمْوَٰتٌ غَيْرُ أَحْيَآءٍ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ أَيَّانَ يُبْعَثُونَ

amwātun ghayru aḥyāʾin wa-mā yashʿurūna ayyāna yubʿathūna

(They are things) dead, lifeless: nor do they know when they will be raised up.

Sura al-Naḥl 16:26

قَدْ مَكَرَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَأَتَى ٱللَّـهُ بُنْيَٰنَهُم مِّنَ ٱلْقَوَاعِدِ فَخَرَّ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلسَّقْفُ مِن فَوْقِهِمْ وَأَتَىٰهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ

qad makara lladhīna min qablihim fa-atā allāhu bunyānahum mina l-qawāʿidi fakharra ʿalayhimu l-saqfu min fawqihim wa-atahumu l-ʿadhābu min ḥaythu lā yashʿurūna

Those before them did also plot (against Allah's Way): but Allah took their structures from their foundations, and the roof fell down on them from above; and the Wrath seized them from directions they did not perceive.

Sura al-Naḥl 16:45

أَفَأَمِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ مَكَرُوا۟ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ أَن يَخْسِفَ ٱللَّـهُ بِهِمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ أَوْ يَأْتِيَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ

afaamina lladhīna makarū l-sayyiʾāti an yakhsifa allāhu bihimu l-arḍa aw yaʾtiyahumu l-ʿadhābu min ḥaythu lā yashʿurūna

Do then those who devise evil (plots) feel secure that Allah will not cause the earth to swallow them up, or that the Wrath will not seize them from directions they little perceive?-

Sura al-Muʾminūn 23:56

نُسَارِعُ لَهُمْ فِى ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ بَل لَّا يَشْعُرُونَ

nusāriʿu lahum fī l-khayrāti bal lā yashʿurūna

We would hasten them on in every good? Nay, they do not understand.

Sura al-Shuʿarā 26:113

إِنْ حِسَابُهُمْ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّى لَوْ تَشْعُرُونَ

in ḥisābuhum illā ʿalā rabbī law tashʿurūna

"Their account is only with my Lord, if ye could (but) understand.

Sura al-Shuʿarā 26:202

فَيَأْتِيَهُم بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ

fa-yaʾtiyahum baghtatan wa-hum lā yashʿurūna

But the (Penalty) will come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not;

Sura al-Naml 27:18

حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَآ أَتَوْا۟ عَلَىٰ وَادِ ٱلنَّمْلِ قَالَتْ نَمْلَةٌ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّمْلُ ٱدْخُلُوا۟ مَسَٰكِنَكُمْ لَا يَحْطِمَنَّكُمْ سُلَيْمَٰنُ وَجُنُودُهُۥ وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ

ḥatta idhā ātaw ʿalā wādi l-namli qālat namlatun yā-ayyuhā l-namlu idkhulū masākinakum lā yaḥṭimannakum sulaymānu wa-junūduhu wa-hum lā yashʿurūna

At length, when they came to a (lowly) valley of ants, one of the ants said: "O ye ants, get into your habitations, lest Solomon and his hosts crush you (under foot) without knowing it."

Sura al-Naml 27:50

وَمَكَرُوا۟ مَكْرًا وَمَكَرْنَا مَكْرًا وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ

wa-makarū makran wa-makarnā makran wa-hum lā yashʿurūna

They plotted and planned, but We too planned, even while they perceived it not.

Sura al-Naml 27:65

قُل لَّا يَعْلَمُ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ٱلْغَيْبَ إِلَّا ٱللَّـهُ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ أَيَّانَ يُبْعَثُونَ

qul lā yaʿlamu man fī l-samāwāti wa-l-arḍi l-ghayba illā allāhu wa-mā yashʿurūna ayyāna yubʿathūna

Say: None in the heavens or on earth, except Allah, knows what is hidden: nor can they perceive when they shall be raised up (for Judgment).

Sura al-Qaṣaṣ 28:9

وَقَالَتِ ٱمْرَأَتُ فِرْعَوْنَ قُرَّتُ عَيْنٍ لِّى وَلَكَ لَا تَقْتُلُوهُ عَسَىٰٓ أَن يَنفَعَنَآ أَوْ نَتَّخِذَهُۥ وَلَدًا وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ

wa-qālati imraʾatu firʿawna qurratu ʿaynin lī wa-laka lā taqtulūhu ʿasā an yanfaʿanā aw nattakhidhahu waladan wa-hum lā yashʿurūna

The wife of Pharaoh said: "(Here is) joy of the eye, for me and for thee: slay him not. It may be that he will be use to us, or we may adopt him as a son." And they perceived not (what they were doing)!

Sura al-Qaṣaṣ 28:11

وَقَالَتْ لِأُخْتِهِۦ قُصِّيهِ فَبَصُرَتْ بِهِۦ عَن جُنُبٍ وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ

wa-qālat li-ukhtihi quṣṣīhi fabaṣurat bihi ʿan junubin wa-hum lā yashʿurūna

And she said to the sister of (Moses), "Follow him" so she (the sister) watched him in the character of a stranger. And they knew not.

Sura al-ʿAnkabūt 29:53

وَيَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَ بِٱلْعَذَابِ وَلَوْلَآ أَجَلٌ مُّسَمًّى لَّجَآءَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ وَلَيَأْتِيَنَّهُم بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ

wa-yastaʿjilūnaka bil-ʿadhābi wa-lawlā ajalun musamman la-jāʾahumu l-ʿadhābu wa-la-yaʾtiyannahum baghtatan wa-hum lā yashʿurūna

They ask thee to hasten on the Punishment (for them): had it not been for a term (of respite) appointed, the Punishment would certainly have come to them: and it will certainly reach them,- of a sudden, while they perceive not!

Sura al-Zumar 39:25

كَذَّبَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَأَتَىٰهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ

kadhdhaba lladhīna min qablihim faatahumu l-ʿadhābu min ḥaythu lā yashʿurūna

Those before them (also) rejected (revelation), and so the Punishment came to them from directions they did not perceive.

Sura al-Zumar 39:55

وَٱتَّبِعُوٓا۟ أَحْسَنَ مَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكُم مِّن رَّبِّكُم مِّن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِيَكُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ بَغْتَةً وَأَنتُمْ لَا تَشْعُرُونَ

wa-ittabiʿū aḥsana mā unzila ilaykum min rrabbikum min qabli an yaʾtiyakumu l-ʿadhābu baghtatan wa-antum lā tashʿurūna

"And follow the best of (the courses) revealed to you from your Lord, before the Penalty comes on you - of a sudden while ye perceive not!-

Sura al-Zukhruf 43:66

هَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا ٱلسَّاعَةَ أَن تَأْتِيَهُم بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ

hal yanẓurūna illā l-sāʿata an taʾtiyahum baghtatan wa-hum lā yashʿurūna

Do they only wait for the Hour - that it should come on them all of a sudden, while they perceive not?

Sura al-Ḥujurāt 49:2

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَرْفَعُوٓا۟ أَصْوَٰتَكُمْ فَوْقَ صَوْتِ ٱلنَّبِىِّ وَلَا تَجْهَرُوا۟ لَهُۥ بِٱلْقَوْلِ كَجَهْرِ بَعْضِكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ أَن تَحْبَطَ أَعْمَٰلُكُمْ وَأَنتُمْ لَا تَشْعُرُونَ

yā-ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū lā tarfaʿū aṣwātakum fawqa ṣawti l-nabiyyi wa-lā tajharū lahu bil-qawli kajahri baʿḍikum li-baʿḍin an taḥbaṭa aʿmālukum wa-antum lā tashʿurūna

O ye who believe! Raise not your voices above the voice of the Prophet, nor speak aloud to him in talk, as ye may speak aloud to one another, lest your deeds become vain and ye perceive not.
