Sura al-Baqara 2:74

ثُمَّ قَسَتْ قُلُوبُكُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ فَهِىَ كَٱلْحِجَارَةِ أَوْ أَشَدُّ قَسْوَةً وَإِنَّ مِنَ ٱلْحِجَارَةِ لَمَا يَتَفَجَّرُ مِنْهُ ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ وَإِنَّ مِنْهَا لَمَا يَشَّقَّقُ فَيَخْرُجُ مِنْهُ ٱلْمَآءُ وَإِنَّ مِنْهَا لَمَا يَهْبِطُ مِنْ خَشْيَةِ ٱللَّـهِ وَمَا ٱللَّـهُ بِغَٰفِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ

thumma qasat qulūbukum min baʿdi dhālika fahiya ka-l-ḥijārati aw ashaddu qaswatan wa-inna mina l-ḥijārati lamā yatafajjaru minhu l-anhāru wa-inna minhā lamā yashshaqqaqu fa-yakhruju minhu l-māʾu wa-inna minhā lamā yahbiṭu min khashyati allāhi wa-mā allāhu bi-ghāfilin ʿammā taʿmalūna

Thenceforth were your hearts hardened: They became like a rock and even worse in hardness. For among rocks there are some from which rivers gush forth; others there are which when split asunder send forth water; and others which sink for fear of Allah. And Allah is not unmindful of what ye do.

Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:115

وَمَن يُشَاقِقِ ٱلرَّسُولَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُ ٱلْهُدَىٰ وَيَتَّبِعْ غَيْرَ سَبِيلِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ نُوَلِّهِۦ مَا تَوَلَّىٰ وَنُصْلِهِۦ جَهَنَّمَ وَسَآءَتْ مَصِيرًا

wa-man yushāqiqi l-rasūla min baʿdi mā tabayyana lahu l-hudā wa-yattabiʿ ghayra sabīli l-muʾminīna nuwallihi mā tawalla wa-nuṣlihi jahannama wa-sāʾat maṣīran

If anyone contends with the Messenger even after guidance has been plainly conveyed to him, and follows a path other than that becoming to men of Faith, We shall leave him in the path he has chosen, and land him in Hell,- what an evil refuge!

Sura al-Anfāl 8:13

ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ شَآقُّوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ وَمَن يُشَاقِقِ ٱللَّـهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ

dhālika bi-annahum shāqqū allāha wa-rasūlahu wa-man yushāqiqi allāha wa-rasūlahu fa-inna allāha shadīdu l-ʿiqābi

This because they contended against Allah and His Messenger: If any contend against Allah and His Messenger, Allah is strict in punishment.

Sura al-Naḥl 16:27

ثُمَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ يُخْزِيهِمْ وَيَقُولُ أَيْنَ شُرَكَآءِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ كُنتُمْ تُشَٰٓقُّونَ فِيهِمْ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْعِلْمَ إِنَّ ٱلْخِزْىَ ٱلْيَوْمَ وَٱلسُّوٓءَ عَلَى ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ

thumma yawma l-qiyāmati yukhzīhim wa-yaqūlu ayna shurakāʾiya lladhīna kuntum tushāqqūna fīhim qalā lladhīna ūtū l-ʿilma inna l-khizya l-yawma wa-l-sūʾa ʿalā l-kāfirīna

Then, on the Day of Judgment, He will cover them with shame, and say: "Where are My 'partners' concerning whom ye used to dispute (with the godly)?" Those endued with knowledge will say: "This Day, indeed, are the Unbelievers covered with shame and misery,-

Sura Maryam 19:90

تَكَادُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ يَتَفَطَّرْنَ مِنْهُ وَتَنشَقُّ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَتَخِرُّ ٱلْجِبَالُ هَدًّا

takādu l-samāwātu yaṭafaṭṭarna minhu wa-tanshaqqu l-arḍu wa-takhirru l-jibālu haddan

At it the skies are ready to burst, the earth to split asunder, and the mountains to fall down in utter ruin,

Sura al-Furqān 25:25

وَيَوْمَ تَشَقَّقُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ بِٱلْغَمَٰمِ وَنُزِّلَ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ تَنزِيلًا

wa-yawma tashaqqaqu l-samāʾu bil-ghamāmi wa-nuzzila l-malāʾikatu tanzīlan

The Day the heaven shall be rent asunder with clouds, and angels shall be sent down, descending (in ranks),-

Sura al-Qaṣaṣ 28:27

قَالَ إِنِّىٓ أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُنكِحَكَ إِحْدَى ٱبْنَتَىَّ هَٰتَيْنِ عَلَىٰٓ أَن تَأْجُرَنِى ثَمَٰنِىَ حِجَجٍ فَإِنْ أَتْمَمْتَ عَشْرًا فَمِنْ عِندِكَ وَمَآ أُرِيدُ أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَيْكَ سَتَجِدُنِىٓ إِن شَآءَ ٱللَّـهُ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ

qalā innī urīdu an unkiḥaka iḥda bnataya hātayni ʿala an taʾjuranī thamāniya ḥijajin fa-in atmamta ʿashran famin ʿindika wa-mā urīdu an ashuqqa ʿalayka sa-tajidunī in shāʾa allāhu mina l-ṣāliḥīna

He said: "I intend to wed one of these my daughters to thee, on condition that thou serve me for eight years; but if thou complete ten years, it will be (grace) from thee. But I intend not to place thee under a difficulty: thou wilt find me, indeed, if Allah wills, one of the righteous."

Sura Muḥammad 47:32

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَصَدُّوا۟ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّـهِ وَشَآقُّوا۟ ٱلرَّسُولَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلْهُدَىٰ لَن يَضُرُّوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ شَيْـًٔا وَسَيُحْبِطُ أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ

inna lladhīna kafarū wa-ṣaddū ʿan sabīli allāhi wa-shāqqū l-rasūla min baʿdi mā tabayyana lahumu l-hudā lan yaḍurrū allāha shayʾan wa-sayuḥbiṭu aʿmālahum

Those who reject Allah, hinder (men) from the Path of Allah, and resist the Messenger, after Guidance has been clearly shown to them, will not injure Allah in the least, but He will make their deeds of no effect.

Sura Qāf 50:44

يَوْمَ تَشَقَّقُ ٱلْأَرْضُ عَنْهُمْ سِرَاعًا ذَٰلِكَ حَشْرٌ عَلَيْنَا يَسِيرٌ

yawma tashaqqaqu l-arḍu ʿanhum sirāʿan dhālika ḥashrun ʿalaynā yasīrun

The Day when the Earth will be rent asunder, from (men) hurrying out: that will be a gathering together,- quite easy for Us.

Sura al-Qamar 54:1

ٱقْتَرَبَتِ ٱلسَّاعَةُ وَٱنشَقَّ ٱلْقَمَرُ

iqtarabati l-sāʿatu wa-inshaqqa l-qamaru

The Hour (of Judgment) is nigh, and the moon is cleft asunder.

Sura al-Raḥmān 55:37

فَإِذَا ٱنشَقَّتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَكَانَتْ وَرْدَةً كَٱلدِّهَانِ

fa-idhā inshaqqati l-samāʾu fa-kānat wardatan ka-l-dihāni

When the sky is rent asunder, and it becomes red like ointment:

Sura al-Ḥashr 59:4

ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ شَآقُّوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ وَمَن يُشَآقِّ ٱللَّـهَ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ

dhālika bi-annahum shāqqū allāha wa-rasūlahu wa-man yushāqqi allāha fa-inna allāha shadīdu l-ʿiqābi

That is because they resisted Allah and His Messenger: and if any one resists Allah, verily Allah is severe in Punishment.

Sura al-Ḥāqqah 69:16

وَٱنشَقَّتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَهِىَ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاهِيَةٌ

wa-inshaqqati l-samāʾu fahiya yawmaʾidhin wāhiyatun

And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy,

Sura al-ʿAbasa 80:26

ثُمَّ شَقَقْنَا ٱلْأَرْضَ شَقًّا

thumma shaqaqnā l-arḍa shaqqan

And We split the earth in fragments,

Sura al-Inshiqāq 84:1

إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنشَقَّتْ

idhā l-samāʾu inshaqqat

When the sky is rent asunder,
