Surah 3 Āl-ʿImrān (The Family of Imran)
RefArabic    TransliterationTranslation
(3:144)

وَمَا  مُحَمَّدٌ  إِلَّا  رَسُولٌ  قَدْ  خَلَتْ  مِن  قَبْلِهِ  ٱلرُّسُلُ  أَفَإِي۟ن  مَّاتَ  أَوْ  قُتِلَ  ٱنقَلَبْتُمْ  عَلَىٰٓ  أَعْقَٰبِكُمْ  وَمَن  يَنقَلِبْ  عَلَىٰ  عَقِبَيْهِ  فَلَن  يَضُرَّ  ٱللَّـهَ  شَيْـًٔا  وَسَيَجْزِى  ٱللَّـهُ  ٱلشَّٰكِرِينَ wa‑mā muḥammadun illā rasūlun qad khalat min qablihi l‑rusulu a‑fa‑īn māta aw qutila inqalabtum ʿala aʿqābikum wa‑man yanqalib ʿalā ʿaqibayhi fa‑lan yaḍurra allāha shayʾan wasayajzī allāhu l‑shākirīna
Muhammad is no more than a messenger: many Were the messenger that passed away before him. If he died or were slain, will ye then Turn back on your heels? If any did turn back on his heels, not the least harm will he do to Allah; but Allah (on the other hand) will swiftly reward those who (serve Him) with gratitude.
(3:145)

وَمَا  كَانَ  لِنَفْسٍ  أَن  تَمُوتَ  إِلَّا  بِإِذْنِ  ٱللَّـهِ  كِتَٰبًا  مُّؤَجَّلًا  وَمَن  يُرِدْ  ثَوَابَ  ٱلدُّنْيَا  نُؤْتِهِۦ  مِنْهَا  وَمَن  يُرِدْ  ثَوَابَ  ٱلْأَخِرَةِ  نُؤْتِهِۦ  مِنْهَا  وَسَنَجْزِى  ٱلشَّٰكِرِينَ wa‑mā kāna li‑nafsin an tamūta illā bi‑idhni allāhi kitāban muajjalan wa‑man yurid thawāba l‑dunyā nuʾtihi minhā wa‑man yurid thawāba l‑akhirati nuʾtihi minhā wasanajzī l‑shākirīna
Nor can a soul die except by Allah's leave, the term being fixed as by writing. If any do desire a reward in this life, We shall give it to him; and if any do desire a reward in the Hereafter, We shall give it to him. And swiftly shall We reward those that (serve us with) gratitude.

Surah 6 al-Anʿām (The Cattle)
(6:53)

وَكَذَٰلِكَ  فَتَنَّا  بَعْضَهُم  بِبَعْضٍ  لِّيَقُولُوٓا۟  أَهَٰٓؤُلَآءِ  مَنَّ  ٱللَّـهُ  عَلَيْهِم  مِّنۢ  بَيْنِنَآ  أَلَيْسَ  ٱللَّـهُ  بِأَعْلَمَ  بِٱلشَّٰكِرِينَ wa‑ka‑dhālika fatannā baʿḍahum bi‑baʿḍin li‑yaqūlū a‑hāʾulāʾi manna allāhu ʿalayhim min bayninā a‑laysa allāhu bi‑aʿlama bil‑shākirīna
Thus did We try some of them by comparison with others, that they should say: "Is it these then that Allah hath favoured from amongst us?" Doth not Allah know best those who are grateful?
(6:63)

قُلْ  مَن  يُنَجِّيكُم  مِّن  ظُلُمَٰتِ  ٱلْبَرِّ  وَٱلْبَحْرِ  تَدْعُونَهُۥ  تَضَرُّعًا  وَخُفْيَةً  لَّئِنْ  أَنجَىٰنَا  مِنْ  هَٰذِهِۦ  لَنَكُونَنَّ  مِنَ  ٱلشَّٰكِرِينَ qul man yunajjīkum min ẓulumāti l‑barri wa‑l‑baḥri tadʿūnahu taḍarruʿan wa‑khufyatan la‑in anjānā min hādhihi la‑nakūnanna mina l‑shākirīna
Say: "Who is it that delivereth you from the dark recesses of land and sea, when ye call upon Him in humility and silent terror: 'If He only delivers us from these (dangers), (we vow) we shall truly show our gratitude'?"

Surah 7 al-Aʿrāf (The Heights)
(7:17)

ثُمَّ  لَءَاتِيَنَّهُم  مِّنۢ  بَيْنِ  أَيْدِيهِمْ  وَمِنْ  خَلْفِهِمْ  وَعَنْ  أَيْمَٰنِهِمْ  وَعَن  شَمَآئِلِهِمْ  وَلَا  تَجِدُ  أَكْثَرَهُمْ  شَٰكِرِينَ thumma la‑ātiyannahum min bayni aydīhim wa‑min khalfihim wa‑ʿan aymānihim wa‑ʿan shamāʾilihim wa‑lā tajidu aktharahum shākirīna
"Then will I assault them from before them and behind them, from their right and their left: Nor wilt thou find, in most of them, gratitude (for thy mercies)."
(7:144)

(Allah) said: "O Moses! I have chosen thee above (other) men, by the mission I (have given thee) and the words I (have spoken to thee): take then the (revelation) which I give thee, and be of those who give thanks."
(7:189)

It is He Who created you from a single person, and made his mate of like nature, in order that he might dwell with her (in love). When they are united, she bears a light burden and carries it about (unnoticed). When she grows heavy, they both pray to Allah their Lord, (saying): "If Thou givest us a goodly child, we vow we shall (ever) be grateful."

Surah 10 Yūnus (Jonah)
(10:22)

He it is Who enableth you to traverse through land and sea; so that ye even board ships;- they sail with them with a favourable wind, and they rejoice thereat; then comes a stormy wind and the waves come to them from all sides, and they think they are being overwhelmed: they cry unto Allah, sincerely offering (their) duty unto Him saying, "If thou dost deliver us from this, we shall truly show our gratitude!"

Surah 21 al-Anbiyāʾ (The Prophets)
(21:80)

It was We Who taught him the making of coats of mail for your benefit, to guard you from each other's violence: will ye then be grateful?

Nay, but worship Allah, and be of those who give thanks.
