RefArabic    TransliterationTranslation
(5:30)

فَطَوَّعَتْ  لَهُۥ  نَفْسُهُۥ  قَتْلَ  أَخِيهِ  فَقَتَلَهُۥ  فَأَصْبَحَ  مِنَ  ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ faṭawwaʿat lahu nafsuhu qatla akhīhi faqatalahu fa‑aṣbaḥa mina l‑khāsirīna
The (selfish) soul of the other led him to the murder of his brother: he murdered him, and became (himself) one of the lost ones.
(5:31)

فَبَعَثَ  ٱللَّـهُ  غُرَابًا  يَبْحَثُ  فِى  ٱلْأَرْضِ  لِيُرِيَهُۥ  كَيْفَ  يُوَٰرِى  سَوْءَةَ  أَخِيهِ  قَالَ  يَٰوَيْلَتَىٰٓ  أَعَجَزْتُ  أَنْ  أَكُونَ  مِثْلَ  هَٰذَا  ٱلْغُرَابِ  فَأُوَٰرِىَ  سَوْءَةَ  أَخِى  فَأَصْبَحَ  مِنَ  ٱلنَّٰدِمِينَ fa‑baʿatha allāhu ghurāban yabḥathu l‑arḍi li‑yuriyahu kayfa yuwārī sawata akhīhi qalā yāwaylata aʿajaztu an akūna mithla hādhā l‑ghurābi fa‑uwāriya sawata akhī fa‑aṣbaḥa mina l‑nādimīna
Then Allah sent a raven, who scratched the ground, to show him how to hide the shame of his brother. "Woe is me!" said he; "Was I not even able to be as this raven, and to hide the shame of my brother?" then he became full of regrets-

Surah 18 al-Kahf (The Cave)
(18:40)

فَعَسَىٰ  رَبِّىٓ  أَن  يُؤْتِيَنِ  خَيْرًا  مِّن  جَنَّتِكَ  وَيُرْسِلَ  عَلَيْهَا  حُسْبَانًا  مِّنَ  ٱلسَّمَآءِ  فَتُصْبِحَ  صَعِيدًا  زَلَقًا fa‑ʿaṣā rabbī an yuʾtiyani khayran min jannatika wa‑yursila ʿalayhā ḥusbānan mina l‑samāʾi fa‑tuṣbiḥa ṣaʿīdan zalaqan
"It may be that my Lord will give me something better than thy garden, and that He will send on thy garden thunderbolts (by way of reckoning) from heaven, making it (but) slippery sand!-
(18:41)

أَوْ  يُصْبِحَ  مَآؤُهَا  غَوْرًا  فَلَن  تَسْتَطِيعَ  لَهُۥ  طَلَبًا aw yuṣbiḥa māʾuhā ghawran fa‑lan tastaṭīʿa lahu ṭalaban
"Or the water of the garden will run off underground so that thou wilt never be able to find it."
(18:42)

So his fruits (and enjoyment) were encompassed (with ruin), and he remained twisting and turning his hands over what he had spent on his property, which had (now) tumbled to pieces to its very foundations, and he could only say, "Woe is me! Would I had never ascribed partners to my Lord and Cherisher!"
(18:45)

وَٱضْرِبْ  لَهُم  مَّثَلَ  ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ  ٱلدُّنْيَا  كَمَآءٍ  أَنزَلْنَٰهُ  مِنَ  ٱلسَّمَآءِ  فَٱخْتَلَطَ  بِهِۦ  نَبَاتُ  ٱلْأَرْضِ  فَأَصْبَحَ  هَشِيمًا  تَذْرُوهُ  ٱلرِّيَٰحُ  وَكَانَ  ٱللَّـهُ  عَلَىٰ  كُلِّ  شَىْءٍ  مُّقْتَدِرًا wa‑iḍrib lahum mathala l‑ḥayāti l‑dunyā ka‑māʾin anzalnāhu mina l‑samāʾi fa‑ikhtalaṭa bihi nabātu l‑arḍi fa‑aṣbaḥa hashīman tadhrūhu l‑riyāḥu wa‑kāna allāhu ʿalā kulli shayʾin muqtadiran
Set forth to them the similitude of the life of this world: It is like the rain which we send down from the skies: the earth's vegetation absorbs it, but soon it becomes dry stubble, which the winds do scatter: it is (only) Allah who prevails over all things.

Surah 22 al-Ḥajj (The Pilgrimage)
(22:63)

أَلَمْ  تَرَ  أَنَّ  ٱللَّـهَ  أَنزَلَ  مِنَ  ٱلسَّمَآءِ  مَآءً  فَتُصْبِحُ  ٱلْأَرْضُ  مُخْضَرَّةً  إِنَّ  ٱللَّـهَ  لَطِيفٌ  خَبِيرٌ a‑lam tara annā allāha anzala mina l‑samāʾi māʾan fa‑tuṣbiḥu l‑arḍu mukhḍarratan inna allāha laṭīfun khabīrun
Seest thou not that Allah sends down rain from the sky, and forthwith the earth becomes clothed with green? for Allah is He Who understands the finest mysteries, and is well-acquainted (with them).

Surah 28 al-Qaṣaṣ (The Narrative)
(28:10)

وَأَصْبَحَ  فُؤَادُ  أُمِّ  مُوسَىٰ  فَٰرِغًا  إِن  كَادَتْ  لَتُبْدِى  بِهِۦ  لَوْلَآ  أَن  رَّبَطْنَا  عَلَىٰ  قَلْبِهَا  لِتَكُونَ  مِنَ  ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ wa‑aṣbaḥa fuʾādu ummi mūsā fārighan in kādat la‑tubdī bihi lawlā an rrabaṭnā ʿalā qalbihā li‑takūna mina l‑muʾminīna
But there came to be a void in the heart of the mother of Moses: She was going almost to disclose his (case), had We not strengthened her heart (with faith), so that she might remain a (firm) believer.
(28:18)

So he saw the morning in the city, looking about, in a state of fear, when behold, the man who had, the day before, sought his help called aloud for his help (again). Moses said to him: "Thou art truly, it is clear, a quarrelsome fellow!"
(28:82)

وَأَصْبَحَ  ٱلَّذِينَ  تَمَنَّوْا۟  مَكَانَهُۥ  بِٱلْأَمْسِ  يَقُولُونَ  وَيْكَأَنَّ  ٱللَّـهَ  يَبْسُطُ  ٱلرِّزْقَ  لِمَن  يَشَآءُ  مِنْ  عِبَادِهِۦ  وَيَقْدِرُ  لَوْلَآ  أَن  مَّنَّ  ٱللَّـهُ  عَلَيْنَا  لَخَسَفَ  بِنَا  وَيْكَأَنَّهُۥ  لَا  يُفْلِحُ  ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ wa‑aṣbaḥa lladhīna tamannaw makānahu bil‑amsi yaqūlūna way‑ka‑anna allāha yabsuṭu l‑rizqa li‑man yashāʾu min ʿibādihi wa‑yaqdiru lawlā an manna allāhu ʿalaynā la‑khasafa binā way‑ka‑annahu yufliḥu l‑kāfirūna
And those who had envied his position the day before began to say on the morrow: "Ah! it is indeed Allah Who enlarges the provision or restricts it, to any of His servants He pleases! had it not been that Allah was gracious to us, He could have caused the earth to swallow us up! Ah! those who reject Allah will assuredly never prosper."

Surah 54 al-Qamar (The Moon)
(54:38)

وَلَقَدْ  صَبَّحَهُم  بُكْرَةً  عَذَابٌ  مُّسْتَقِرٌّ wa‑la‑qad ṣabbaḥahum bukratan ʿadhābun mustaqirrun
Early on the morrow an abiding Punishment seized them:

Surah 67 al-Mulk (The Kingdom)
(67:30)

قُلْ  أَرَءَيْتُمْ  إِنْ  أَصْبَحَ  مَآؤُكُمْ  غَوْرًا  فَمَن  يَأْتِيكُم  بِمَآءٍ  مَّعِينٍۭ qul a‑raʾaytum in aṣbaḥa māʾukum ghawran fa‑man yaʾtīkum bi‑māʾin maʿīnin

Surah 68 al-Qalam (The Pen)
(68:20)

فَأَصْبَحَتْ  كَٱلصَّرِيمِ fa‑aṣbaḥat ka‑l‑ṣarīmi
So the (garden) became, by the morning, like a dark and desolate spot, (whose fruit had been gathered).
