Sura al-Baqara 2:177

لَّيْسَ ٱلْبِرَّ أَن تُوَلُّوا۟ وُجُوهَكُمْ قِبَلَ ٱلْمَشْرِقِ وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱلْبِرَّ مَنْ ءَامَنَ بِٱللَّـهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْأَخِرِ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ وَٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ وَءَاتَى ٱلْمَالَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِۦ ذَوِى ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ وَٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ وَٱلْمَسَٰكِينَ وَٱبْنَ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَٱلسَّآئِلِينَ وَفِى ٱلرِّقَابِ وَأَقَامَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتَى ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَٱلْمُوفُونَ بِعَهْدِهِمْ إِذَا عَٰهَدُوا۟ وَٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ فِى ٱلْبَأْسَآءِ وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ وَحِينَ ٱلْبَأْسِ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ صَدَقُوا۟ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُتَّقُونَ

laysa l-birra an tuwallū wujūhakum qibala l-mashriqi wa-l-maghribi wa-lākinna l-birra man āmana billāhi wa-l-yawmi l-akhiri wa-l-malāʾikati wa-l-kitābi wa-l-nabīyina wa-ātā l-māla ʿalā ḥubbihi dhawī l-qurbā wa-l-yatāmā wa-l-masākīna wa-ibna l-sabīli wa-l-sāʾilīna wa-fī l-riqābi wa-aqāma l-ṣalāta wa-ātā l-zakāta wa-l-mūfūna bi-ʿahdihim idhā ʿāhadū wa-l-ṣābirīna fī l-baʾsāʾi wa-l-ḍarrāʾi wa-ḥīna l-basi ulāʾika lladhīna ṣadaqū wa-ūlāʾika humu l-muttaqūna

It is not righteousness that ye turn your faces Towards east or West; but it is righteousness- to believe in Allah and the Last Day, and the Angels, and the Book, and the Messengers; to spend of your substance, out of love for Him, for your kin, for orphans, for the needy, for the wayfarer, for those who ask, and for the ransom of slaves; to be steadfast in prayer, and practice regular charity; to fulfil the contracts which ye have made; and to be firm and patient, in pain (or suffering) and adversity, and throughout all periods of panic. Such are the people of truth, the Allah-fearing.

Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:95

قُلْ صَدَقَ ٱللَّـهُ فَٱتَّبِعُوا۟ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ حَنِيفًا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ

qul ṣadaqa allāhu fa-ittabiʿū millata ibrāhīma ḥanīfan wa-mā kāna mina l-mushrikīna

Say: "Allah speaketh the Truth: follow the religion of Abraham, the sane in faith; he was not of the Pagans."

Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:152

وَلَقَدْ صَدَقَكُمُ ٱللَّـهُ وَعْدَهُۥٓ إِذْ تَحُسُّونَهُم بِإِذْنِهِۦ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا فَشِلْتُمْ وَتَنَٰزَعْتُمْ فِى ٱلْأَمْرِ وَعَصَيْتُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ مَآ أَرَىٰكُم مَّا تُحِبُّونَ مِنكُم مَّن يُرِيدُ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَمِنكُم مَّن يُرِيدُ ٱلْأَخِرَةَ ثُمَّ صَرَفَكُمْ عَنْهُمْ لِيَبْتَلِيَكُمْ وَلَقَدْ عَفَا عَنكُمْ وَٱللَّـهُ ذُو فَضْلٍ عَلَى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

wa-la-qad ṣadaqakumu allāhu waʿdahu idh taḥussūnahum bi-idhnihi ḥatta idhā fashiltum wa-tanāzaʿtum fī l-amri wa-ʿaṣaytum min baʿdi mā arākum mā tuḥibbūna minkum man yurīdu l-dunyā wa-minkum man yurīdu l-akhirata thumma ṣarafakum ʿanhum li-yabtaliyakum wa-la-qad ʿafā ʿankum wallāhu dhū faḍlin ʿalā l-muʾminīna

Allah did indeed fulfil His promise to you when ye with His permission Were about to annihilate your enemy,-until ye flinched and fell to disputing about the order, and disobeyed it after He brought you in sight (of the booty) which ye covet. Among you are some that hanker after this world and some that desire the Hereafter. Then did He divert you from your foes in order to test you but He forgave you: For Allah is full of grace to those who believe.

Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:92

وَمَا كَانَ لِمُؤْمِنٍ أَن يَقْتُلَ مُؤْمِنًا إِلَّا خَطَـًٔا وَمَن قَتَلَ مُؤْمِنًا خَطَـًٔا فَتَحْرِيرُ رَقَبَةٍ مُّؤْمِنَةٍ وَدِيَةٌ مُّسَلَّمَةٌ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦٓ إِلَّآ أَن يَصَّدَّقُوا۟ فَإِن كَانَ مِن قَوْمٍ عَدُوٍّ لَّكُمْ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ فَتَحْرِيرُ رَقَبَةٍ مُّؤْمِنَةٍ وَإِن كَانَ مِن قَوْمٍۭ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَهُم مِّيثَٰقٌ فَدِيَةٌ مُّسَلَّمَةٌ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ وَتَحْرِيرُ رَقَبَةٍ مُّؤْمِنَةٍ فَمَن لَّمْ يَجِدْ فَصِيَامُ شَهْرَيْنِ مُتَتَابِعَيْنِ تَوْبَةً مِّنَ ٱللَّـهِ وَكَانَ ٱللَّـهُ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا

wa-mā kāna li-muʾminin an yaqtula muʾminan illā khaṭaʾan wa-man qatala muʾminan khaṭaʾan fa-taḥrīru raqabatin muʾminatin wa-diyatun musallamatun ila ahlihi illā an yaṣṣaddaqū fa-in kāna min qawmin ʿadūwin la-kum wa-huwa muʾminun fa-taḥrīru raqabatin muʾminatin wa-in kāna min qawmin baynakum wa-baynahum mīthāqun fadiyatun musallamatun ila ahlihi wa-taḥrīru raqabatin muʾminatin fa-man lam yajid fa-ṣiyāmu shahrayni mutatābiʿayni tawbatan mina allāhi wa-kāna allāhu ʿalīman ḥakīman

Never should a believer kill a believer; but (If it so happens) by mistake, (Compensation is due): If one (so) kills a believer, it is ordained that he should free a believing slave, and pay compensation to the deceased's family, unless they remit it freely. If the deceased belonged to a people at war with you, and he was a believer, the freeing of a believing slave (Is enough). If he belonged to a people with whom ye have treaty of Mutual alliance, compensation should be paid to his family, and a believing slave be freed. For those who find this beyond their means, (is prescribed) a fast for two months running: by way of repentance to Allah: for Allah hath all knowledge and all wisdom.

Sura al-Māʾidah 5:45

وَكَتَبْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ فِيهَآ أَنَّ ٱلنَّفْسَ بِٱلنَّفْسِ وَٱلْعَيْنَ بِٱلْعَيْنِ وَٱلْأَنفَ بِٱلْأَنفِ وَٱلْأُذُنَ بِٱلْأُذُنِ وَٱلسِّنَّ بِٱلسِّنِّ وَٱلْجُرُوحَ قِصَاصٌ فَمَن تَصَدَّقَ بِهِۦ فَهُوَ كَفَّارَةٌ لَّهُۥ وَمَن لَّمْ يَحْكُم بِمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّـهُ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ

wa-katabnā ʿalayhim fīhā annā l-nafsa bil-nafsi wa-l-ʿayna bil-ʿayni wa-l-anfa bil-anfi wa-l-udhuna bil-udhuni wa-l-sinna bil-sinni wa-l-jurūḥa qiṣāṣun fa-man taṣaddaqa bihi fa-huwa kaffāratun lahu wa-man lam yaḥkum bimā anzala allāhu fa-ūlāʾika humu l-ẓālimūna

We ordained therein for them: "Life for life, eye for eye, nose or nose, ear for ear, tooth for tooth, and wounds equal for equal." But if any one remits the retaliation by way of charity, it is an act of atonement for himself. And if any fail to judge by (the light of) what Allah hath revealed, they are (No better than) wrong-doers.

Sura al-Tawbah 9:43

عَفَا ٱللَّـهُ عَنكَ لِمَ أَذِنتَ لَهُمْ حَتَّىٰ يَتَبَيَّنَ لَكَ ٱلَّذِينَ صَدَقُوا۟ وَتَعْلَمَ ٱلْكَٰذِبِينَ

ʿafā allāhu ʿanka lima adhinta lahum ḥattā yatabayyana la-ka lladhīna ṣadaqū wa-taʿlama l-kādhibīna

Allah give thee grace! why didst thou grant them until those who told the truth were seen by thee in a clear light, and thou hadst proved the liars?

Sura Yūsuf 12:26

قَالَ هِىَ رَٰوَدَتْنِى عَن نَّفْسِى وَشَهِدَ شَاهِدٌ مِّنْ أَهْلِهَآ إِن كَانَ قَمِيصُهُۥ قُدَّ مِن قُبُلٍ فَصَدَقَتْ وَهُوَ مِنَ ٱلْكَٰذِبِينَ

qalā hiya rāwadatnī ʿan nnafsī wa-shahida shāhidun min ahlihā in kāna qamīṣuhu qudda min qubulin fa-ṣadaqat wa-huwa mina l-kādhibīna

He said: "It was she that sought to seduce me - from my (true) self." And one of her household saw (this) and bore witness, (thus):- "If it be that his shirt is rent from the front, then is her tale true, and he is a liar!

Sura al-Qaṣaṣ 28:34

وَأَخِى هَٰرُونُ هُوَ أَفْصَحُ مِنِّى لِسَانًا فَأَرْسِلْهُ مَعِىَ رِدْءًا يُصَدِّقُنِىٓ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ أَن يُكَذِّبُونِ

wa-akhī hārūnu huwa afṣaḥu minnī lisānan fa-arsilhu maʿiya ridʾan yuṣaddiqunī innī akhāfu an yukadhdhibūni

"And my brother Aaron - He is more eloquent in speech than I: so send him with me as a helper, to confirm (and strengthen) me: for I fear that they may accuse me of falsehood."

Sura al-ʿAnkabūt 29:3

وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ ٱللَّـهُ ٱلَّذِينَ صَدَقُوا۟ وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ ٱلْكَٰذِبِينَ

wa-la-qad fatannā lladhīna min qablihim fa-la-yaʿlamanna allāhu lladhīna ṣadaqū wa-la-yaʿlamanna l-kādhibīna

We did test those before them, and Allah will certainly know those who are true from those who are false.

Sura al-Aḥzāb 33:22

وَلَمَّا رَءَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ ٱلْأَحْزَابَ قَالُوا۟ هَٰذَا مَا وَعَدَنَا ٱللَّـهُ وَرَسُولُهُۥ وَصَدَقَ ٱللَّـهُ وَرَسُولُهُۥ وَمَا زَادَهُمْ إِلَّآ إِيمَٰنًا وَتَسْلِيمًا

wa-lammā raʾā l-muʾminūna l-aḥzāba qālū hādhā mā waʿadanā allāhu wa-rasūluhu wa-ṣadaqa allāhu wa-rasūluhu wa-mā zādahum illā īmānan wa-taslīman

When the Believers saw the Confederate forces, they said: "This is what Allah and his Messenger had promised us, and Allah and His Messenger told us what was true." And it only added to their faith and their zeal in obedience.

Sura al-Aḥzāb 33:23

مِّنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ رِجَالٌ صَدَقُوا۟ مَا عَٰهَدُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ عَلَيْهِ فَمِنْهُم مَّن قَضَىٰ نَحْبَهُۥ وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَنتَظِرُ وَمَا بَدَّلُوا۟ تَبْدِيلًا

mina l-muʾminīna rijālun ṣadaqū mā ʿāhadū allāha ʿalayhi fa-minhum man qaḍa naḥbahu wa-minhum man yantaẓiru wa-mā baddalū tabdīlan

Among the Believers are men who have been true to their covenant with Allah: of them some have completed their vow (to the extreme), and some (still) wait: but they have never changed (their determination) in the least:

Sura Sabaʾ 34:20

وَلَقَدْ صَدَّقَ عَلَيْهِمْ إِبْلِيسُ ظَنَّهُۥ فَٱتَّبَعُوهُ إِلَّا فَرِيقًا مِّنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

wa-la-qad ṣaddaqa ʿalayhim iblīsu ẓannahu fa-ittabaʿūhu illā farīqan mina l-muʾminīna

And on them did Satan prove true his idea, and they followed him, all but a party that believed.

Sura Yā Sin 36:52

قَالُوا۟ يَٰوَيْلَنَا مَنۢ بَعَثَنَا مِن مَّرْقَدِنَا هَٰذَا مَا وَعَدَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ وَصَدَقَ ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ

qālū yā-waylanā man baʿathanā min marqadinā hādhā mā waʿada l-raḥmānu wa-ṣadaqa l-mursalūna

They will say: "Ah! Woe unto us! Who hath raised us up from our beds of repose?"... (A voice will say:) "This is what (Allah) Most Gracious had promised. And true was the word of the messengers!"

Sura al-Ṣaffāt 37:37

بَلْ جَآءَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَصَدَّقَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

bal jāa bil-ḥaqqi wa-ṣaddaqa l-mursalīna

Nay! he has come with the (very) Truth, and he confirms (the Message of) the messengers (before him).

Sura al-Zumar 39:33

وَٱلَّذِى جَآءَ بِٱلصِّدْقِ وَصَدَّقَ بِهِۦٓ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُتَّقُونَ

wa-lladhī jāa bil-ṣidqi wa-ṣaddaqa bihi ulāʾika humu l-muttaqūna

And he who brings the Truth and he who confirms (and supports) it - such are the men who do right.

Sura al-Zumar 39:74

وَقَالُوا۟ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّـهِ ٱلَّذِى صَدَقَنَا وَعْدَهُۥ وَأَوْرَثَنَا ٱلْأَرْضَ نَتَبَوَّأُ مِنَ ٱلْجَنَّةِ حَيْثُ نَشَآءُ فَنِعْمَ أَجْرُ ٱلْعَٰمِلِينَ

wa-qālū l-ḥamdu lillāhi alladhī ṣadaqanā waʿdahu wa-awrathanā l-arḍa natabawwau mina l-jannati ḥaythu nashāʾu fa-niʿma ajru l-ʿāmilīna

They will say: "Praise be to Allah, Who has truly fulfilled His Promise to us, and has given us (this) land in heritage: We can dwell in the Garden as we will: how excellent a reward for those who work (righteousness)!"

Sura Muḥammad 47:21

طَاعَةٌ وَقَوْلٌ مَّعْرُوفٌ فَإِذَا عَزَمَ ٱلْأَمْرُ فَلَوْ صَدَقُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَّهُمْ

ṭāʿatun wa-qawlun maʿrūfun fa-idhā ʿazama l-amru fa-law ṣadaqū allāha la-kāna khayran lahum

Were it to obey and say what is just, and when a matter is resolved on, it were best for them if they were true to Allah.

Sura al-Fatḥ 48:27

لَّقَدْ صَدَقَ ٱللَّـهُ رَسُولَهُ ٱلرُّءْيَا بِٱلْحَقِّ لَتَدْخُلُنَّ ٱلْمَسْجِدَ ٱلْحَرَامَ إِن شَآءَ ٱللَّـهُ ءَامِنِينَ مُحَلِّقِينَ رُءُوسَكُمْ وَمُقَصِّرِينَ لَا تَخَافُونَ فَعَلِمَ مَا لَمْ تَعْلَمُوا۟ فَجَعَلَ مِن دُونِ ذَٰلِكَ فَتْحًا قَرِيبًا

llaqad ṣadaqa allāhu rasūlahu l-ruʾyā bil-ḥaqqi la-tadkhulunna l-masjida l-ḥarāma in shāʾa allāhu āminīna muḥalliqīna ruʾūsakum wa-muqaṣṣirīna lā takhāfūna faʿalima mā lam taʿlamū fa-jaʿala min dūni dhālika fatḥan qarīban

Truly did Allah fulfil the vision for His Messenger: ye shall enter the Sacred Mosque, if Allah wills, with minds secure, heads shaved, hair cut short, and without fear. For He knew what ye knew not, and He granted, besides this, a speedy victory.

Sura al-Taḥrīm 66:12

وَمَرْيَمَ ٱبْنَتَ عِمْرَٰنَ ٱلَّتِىٓ أَحْصَنَتْ فَرْجَهَا فَنَفَخْنَا فِيهِ مِن رُّوحِنَا وَصَدَّقَتْ بِكَلِمَٰتِ رَبِّهَا وَكُتُبِهِۦ وَكَانَتْ مِنَ ٱلْقَٰنِتِينَ

wa-maryama bnata ʿimrāna allatī aḥṣanat farjahā fanafakhnā fīhi min rrūḥinā wa-ṣaddaqat bikalimāti rabbihā wa-kutubihi wa-kānat mina l-qānitīna

And Mary the daughter of 'Imran, who guarded her chastity; and We breathed into (her body) of Our spirit; and she testified to the truth of the words of her Lord and of His Revelations, and was one of the devout (servants).

Sura al-Maʿārij 70:26

وَٱلَّذِينَ يُصَدِّقُونَ بِيَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ

wa-lladhīna yuṣaddiqūna bi-yawmi l-dīni

And those who hold to the truth of the Day of Judgment;

Sura al-Qiyāmah 75:31

فَلَا صَدَّقَ وَلَا صَلَّىٰ

fa-lā ṣaddaqa wa-lā ṣallā

So he gave nothing in charity, nor did he pray!-

Sura al-Layl 92:6

وَصَدَّقَ بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ

wa-ṣaddaqa bil-ḥusnā

And (in all sincerity) testifies to the best,-
