Surah 2 al-Baqara (The Cow)

(2:130)

وَمَن  يَرْغَبُ  عَن  مِّلَّةِ  إِبْرَٰهِـۧمَ  إِلَّا  مَن  سَفِهَ  نَفْسَهُۥ  وَلَقَدِ  ٱصْطَفَيْنَٰهُ  فِى  ٱلدُّنْيَا  وَإِنَّهُۥ  فِى  ٱلْأَخِرَةِ  لَمِنَ  ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ wa‑man yarghabu ʿan millati ibrāhīma illā man safiha nafsahu walaqadi ṣṭafaynāhu l‑dunyā wa‑innahu l‑akhirati la‑mina l‑ṣāliḥīna
And who turns away from the religion of Abraham but such as debase their souls with folly? Him We chose and rendered pure in this world: And he will be in the Hereafter in the ranks of the Righteous.

Surah 7 al-Aʿrāf (The Heights)
(7:144)

قَالَ  يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ  إِنِّى  ٱصْطَفَيْتُكَ  عَلَى  ٱلنَّاسِ  بِرِسَٰلَٰتِى  وَبِكَلَٰمِى  فَخُذْ  مَآ  ءَاتَيْتُكَ  وَكُن  مِّنَ  ٱلشَّٰكِرِينَ qalā yā‑mūsā innī iṣṭafaytuka ʿalā l‑nāsi bi‑risālātī wa‑bikalāmī fa‑khudh ātaytuka wa‑kun mina l‑shākirīna
(Allah) said: "O Moses! I have chosen thee above (other) men, by the mission I (have given thee) and the words I (have spoken to thee): take then the (revelation) which I give thee, and be of those who give thanks."

Surah 35 al-Faṭīr (The Creator)
(35:32)

ثُمَّ  أَوْرَثْنَا  ٱلْكِتَٰبَ  ٱلَّذِينَ  ٱصْطَفَيْنَا  مِنْ  عِبَادِنَا  فَمِنْهُمْ  ظَالِمٌ  لِّنَفْسِهِۦ  وَمِنْهُم  مُّقْتَصِدٌ  وَمِنْهُمْ  سَابِقٌۢ  بِٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ  بِإِذْنِ  ٱللَّـهِ  ذَٰلِكَ  هُوَ  ٱلْفَضْلُ  ٱلْكَبِيرُ thumma awrathnā l‑kitāba lladhīna iṣṭafaynā min ʿibādinā fa‑minhum ẓālimun li‑nafsihi wa‑minhum muqtaṣidun wa‑minhum sābiqun bil‑khayrāti bi‑idhni allāhi dhālika huwa l‑faḍlu l‑kabīru
Then We have given the Book for inheritance to such of Our Servants as We have chosen: but there are among them some who wrong their own souls; some who follow a middle course; and some who are, by Allah's leave, foremost in good deeds; that is the highest Grace.
