Surah 5 al-Māʾidah (The Table Spread)
RefArabic    TransliterationTranslation
(5:14)

وَمِنَ  ٱلَّذِينَ  قَالُوٓا۟  إِنَّا  نَصَٰرَىٰٓ  أَخَذْنَا  مِيثَٰقَهُمْ  فَنَسُوا۟  حَظًّا  مِّمَّا  ذُكِّرُوا۟  بِهِۦ  فَأَغْرَيْنَا  بَيْنَهُمُ  ٱلْعَدَاوَةَ  وَٱلْبَغْضَآءَ  إِلَىٰ  يَوْمِ  ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ  وَسَوْفَ  يُنَبِّئُهُمُ  ٱللَّـهُ  بِمَا  كَانُوا۟  يَصْنَعُونَ wa‑mina lladhīna qālū innā naṣāra akhadhnā mīthāqahum fa‑nasū ḥaẓẓan mimmā dhukkirū bihi fa‑aghraynā baynahumu l‑ʿadāwata wa‑l‑baghḍāʾa ilā yawmi l‑qiyāmati wa‑sawfa yunabbiʾuhumu allāhu bi‑mā kānū yaṣnaʿūna
From those, too, who call themselves Christians, We did take a covenant, but they forgot a good part of the message that was sent them: so we estranged them, with enmity and hatred between the one and the other, to the day of judgment. And soon will Allah show them what it is they have done.
(5:63)

لَوْلَا  يَنْهَىٰهُمُ  ٱلرَّبَّٰنِيُّونَ  وَٱلْأَحْبَارُ  عَن  قَوْلِهِمُ  ٱلْإِثْمَ  وَأَكْلِهِمُ  ٱلسُّحْتَ  لَبِئْسَ  مَا  كَانُوا۟  يَصْنَعُونَ lawlā yanhahumu l‑rabbānīyūna wa‑l‑aḥbāru ʿan qawlihimu lithma wa‑aklihimu l‑suḥta la‑biʾsa kānū yaṣnaʿūna
Why do not the rabbis and the doctors of Law forbid them from their (habit of) uttering sinful words and eating things forbidden? Evil indeed are their works.

Surah 7 al-Aʿrāf (The Heights)
(7:137)

And We made a people, considered weak (and of no account), inheritors of lands in both east and west, - lands whereon We sent down Our blessings. The fair promise of thy Lord was fulfilled for the Children of Israel, because they had patience and constancy, and We levelled to the ground the great works and fine buildings which Pharaoh and his people erected (with such pride).

Surah 11 Hūd (Hud)
(11:16)

They are those for whom there is nothing in the Hereafter but the Fire: vain are the designs they frame therein, and of no effect and the deeds that they do!
(11:37)

وَٱصْنَعِ  ٱلْفُلْكَ  بِأَعْيُنِنَا  وَوَحْيِنَا  وَلَا  تُخَٰطِبْنِى  فِى  ٱلَّذِينَ  ظَلَمُوٓا۟  إِنَّهُم  مُّغْرَقُونَ wa‑iṣnaʿi l‑fulka bi‑aʿyuninā wa‑waḥyinā wa‑lā tukhāṭibnī lladhīna ẓalamū innahum mughraqūna
"But construct an Ark under Our eyes and Our inspiration, and address Me no (further) on behalf of those who are in sin: for they are about to be overwhelmed (in the Flood)."
(11:38)

وَيَصْنَعُ  ٱلْفُلْكَ  وَكُلَّمَا  مَرَّ  عَلَيْهِ  مَلَأٌ  مِّن  قَوْمِهِۦ  سَخِرُوا۟  مِنْهُ  قَالَ  إِن  تَسْخَرُوا۟  مِنَّا  فَإِنَّا  نَسْخَرُ  مِنكُمْ  كَمَا  تَسْخَرُونَ wa‑yaṣnaʿu l‑fulka wa‑kullamā marra ʿalayhi malāʾun min qawmihi sakhirū minhu qalā in taskharū minnā fa‑innā naskharu minkum ka‑mā taskharūna
Forthwith he (starts) constructing the Ark: Every time that the chiefs of his people passed by him, they threw ridicule on him. He said: "If ye ridicule us now, we (in our turn) can look down on you with ridicule likewise!

Surah 13 al-Raʿd (The Thunder)
(13:31)

وَلَوْ  أَنَّ  قُرْءَانًا  سُيِّرَتْ  بِهِ  ٱلْجِبَالُ  أَوْ  قُطِّعَتْ  بِهِ  ٱلْأَرْضُ  أَوْ  كُلِّمَ  بِهِ  ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ  بَل  لِلَّـهِ  ٱلْأَمْرُ  جَمِيعًا  أَفَلَمْ  يَا۟يْـَٔسِ  ٱلَّذِينَ  ءَامَنُوٓا۟  أَن  لَّوْ  يَشَآءُ  ٱللَّـهُ  لَهَدَى  ٱلنَّاسَ  جَمِيعًا  وَلَا  يَزَالُ  ٱلَّذِينَ  كَفَرُوا۟  تُصِيبُهُم  بِمَا  صَنَعُوا۟  قَارِعَةٌ  أَوْ  تَحُلُّ  قَرِيبًا  مِّن  دَارِهِمْ  حَتَّىٰ  يَأْتِىَ  وَعْدُ  ٱللَّـهِ  إِنَّ  ٱللَّـهَ  لَا  يُخْلِفُ  ٱلْمِيعَادَ wa‑law annā qurʾānan suyyirat bihi l‑jibālu aw quṭṭiʿaṭ bihi l‑arḍu aw kullima bihi l‑mawtā bal lillāhi l‑amru jamīʿan a‑fa‑lam yāyʾasi lladhīna āmanū an law yashāʾu allāhu la‑hadā l‑nāsa jamīʿan wa‑lā yazālu lladhīna kafarū tuṣībuhum bi‑mā ṣanaʿū qāriʿatun aw taḥullu qarīban min dārihim ḥattā yaʾtiya waʿdu allāhi inna allāha yukhlifu l‑mīʿāda
If there were a Qur'an with which mountains were moved, or the earth were cloven asunder, or the dead were made to speak, (this would be the one!) But, truly, the command is with Allah in all things! Do not the Believers know, that, had Allah (so) willed, He could have guided all mankind (to the right)? But the Unbelievers,- never will disaster cease to seize them for their (ill) deeds, or to settle close to their homes, until the promise of Allah come to pass, for, verily, Allah will not fail in His promise.

Surah 16 al-Naḥl (The Bee)
(16:112)

وَضَرَبَ  ٱللَّـهُ  مَثَلًا  قَرْيَةً  كَانَتْ  ءَامِنَةً  مُّطْمَئِنَّةً  يَأْتِيهَا  رِزْقُهَا  رَغَدًا  مِّن  كُلِّ  مَكَانٍ  فَكَفَرَتْ  بِأَنْعُمِ  ٱللَّـهِ  فَأَذَٰقَهَا  ٱللَّـهُ  لِبَاسَ  ٱلْجُوعِ  وَٱلْخَوْفِ  بِمَا  كَانُوا۟  يَصْنَعُونَ wa‑ḍaraba allāhu mathalan qaryatan kānat āminatan muṭmaʾinnatan yaʾtīhā rizquhā raghadan min kulli makānin fa‑kafarat bi‑anʿumi allāhi fa‑adhāqahā allāhu libāsa l‑jūʿi wa‑l‑khawfi bi‑mā kānū yaṣnaʿūna
Allah sets forth a Parable: a city enjoying security and quiet, abundantly supplied with sustenance from every place: Yet was it ungrateful for the favours of Allah: so Allah made it taste of hunger and terror (in extremes) (closing in on it) like a garment (from every side), because of the (evil) which (its people) wrought.

Surah 20 Ṭā Hā (Ta-Ha)
(20:39)

أَنِ  ٱقْذِفِيهِ  فِى  ٱلتَّابُوتِ  فَٱقْذِفِيهِ  فِى  ٱلْيَمِّ  فَلْيُلْقِهِ  ٱلْيَمُّ  بِٱلسَّاحِلِ  يَأْخُذْهُ  عَدُوٌّ  لِّى  وَعَدُوٌّ  لَّهُۥ  وَأَلْقَيْتُ  عَلَيْكَ  مَحَبَّةً  مِّنِّى  وَلِتُصْنَعَ  عَلَىٰ  عَيْنِىٓ ani iqdhifīhi l‑tābūti fa‑iqdhifīhi l‑yammi fa‑l‑yulqihi l‑yammu bil‑sāḥili yakhudhhu ʿaduwwun wa‑ʿaduwwun lahu wa‑alqaytu ʿalayka maḥabbatan minnī wa‑li‑tuṣnaʿa ʿalā ʿaynī
"'Throw (the child) into the chest, and throw (the chest) into the river: the river will cast him up on the bank, and he will be taken up by one who is an enemy to Me and an enemy to him': But I cast (the garment of) love over thee from Me: and (this) in order that thou mayest be reared under Mine eye.
(20:41)

وَٱصْطَنَعْتُكَ  لِنَفْسِى wa‑iṣṭanaʿtuka li‑nafsī
"And I have prepared thee for Myself (for service)"..
(20:69)

"Throw that which is in thy right hand: Quickly will it swallow up that which they have faked what they have faked is but a magician's trick: and the magician thrives not, (no matter) where he goes."

Surah 23 al-Muʾminūn (The Believers)
(23:27)

فَأَوْحَيْنَآ  إِلَيْهِ  أَنِ  ٱصْنَعِ  ٱلْفُلْكَ  بِأَعْيُنِنَا  وَوَحْيِنَا  فَإِذَا  جَآءَ  أَمْرُنَا  وَفَارَ  ٱلتَّنُّورُ  فَٱسْلُكْ  فِيهَا  مِن  كُلٍّ  زَوْجَيْنِ  ٱثْنَيْنِ  وَأَهْلَكَ  إِلَّا  مَن  سَبَقَ  عَلَيْهِ  ٱلْقَوْلُ  مِنْهُمْ  وَلَا  تُخَٰطِبْنِى  فِى  ٱلَّذِينَ  ظَلَمُوٓا۟  إِنَّهُم  مُّغْرَقُونَ fa‑awḥaynā ilayhi ani iṣnaʿi l‑fulka bi‑aʿyuninā wa‑waḥyinā fa‑idhā jāa amrunā wa‑fāra l‑tannūru fa‑isluk fīhā min kullin zawjayni ithnayni wa‑ahlaka illā man sabaqa ʿalayhi l‑qawlu minhum wa‑lā tukhāṭibnī lladhīna ẓalamū innahum mughraqūna
So We inspired him (with this message): "Construct the Ark within Our sight and under Our guidance: then when comes Our Command, and the fountains of the earth gush forth, take thou on board pairs of every species, male and female, and thy family- except those of them against whom the Word has already gone forth: And address Me not in favour of the wrong-doers; for they shall be drowned (in the Flood).

Surah 24 al-Nūr (The Light)
(24:30)

Say to the believing men that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty: that will make for greater purity for them: And Allah is well acquainted with all that they do.

Surah 29 al-ʿAnkabūt (The Spider)
(29:45)

ٱتْلُ  مَآ  أُوحِىَ  إِلَيْكَ  مِنَ  ٱلْكِتَٰبِ  وَأَقِمِ  ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ  إِنَّ  ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ  تَنْهَىٰ  عَنِ  ٱلْفَحْشَآءِ  وَٱلْمُنكَرِ  وَلَذِكْرُ  ٱللَّـهِ  أَكْبَرُ  وَٱللَّـهُ  يَعْلَمُ  مَا  تَصْنَعُونَ itlu ūḥiya ilayka mina l‑kitābi wa‑aqimi l‑ṣalāta inna l‑ṣalāta tanha ʿani l‑faḥshāʾi wa‑l‑munkari wa‑la‑dhikru allāhi akbaru wallāhu yaʿlamu taṣnaʿūna
Recite what is sent of the Book by inspiration to thee, and establish regular Prayer: for Prayer restrains from shameful and unjust deeds; and remembrance of Allah is the greatest (thing in life) without doubt. And Allah knows the (deeds) that ye do.

Surah 35 al-Faṭīr (The Creator)
(35:8)

أَفَمَن  زُيِّنَ  لَهُۥ  سُوٓءُ  عَمَلِهِۦ  فَرَءَاهُ  حَسَنًا  فَإِنَّ  ٱللَّـهَ  يُضِلُّ  مَن  يَشَآءُ  وَيَهْدِى  مَن  يَشَآءُ  فَلَا  تَذْهَبْ  نَفْسُكَ  عَلَيْهِمْ  حَسَرَٰتٍ  إِنَّ  ٱللَّـهَ  عَلِيمٌۢ  بِمَا  يَصْنَعُونَ a‑fa‑man zuyyina lahu sūu ʿamalihi fa‑raʾāhu ḥasanan fa‑inna allāha yuḍillu man yashāʾu wa‑yahdī man yashāʾu fa‑lā tadhhab nafsuka ʿalayhim ḥasarātin inna allāha ʿalīmun bi‑mā yaṣnaʿūna
Is he, then, to whom the evil of his conduct is made alluring, so that he looks upon it as good, (equal to one who is rightly guided)? For Allah leaves to stray whom He wills, and guides whom He wills. So let not thy soul go out in (vainly) sighing after them: for Allah knows well all that they do!
