Sura al-Tawbah 9:82

فَلْيَضْحَكُوا۟ قَلِيلًا وَلْيَبْكُوا۟ كَثِيرًا جَزَآءًۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ

fa-l-yaḍḥakū qalīlan wa-l-yabkū kathīran jazāʾan bi-mā kānū yaksibūna

Let them laugh a little: much will they weep: a recompense for the (evil) that they do.

Sura Hūd 11:71

وَٱمْرَأَتُهُۥ قَآئِمَةٌ فَضَحِكَتْ فَبَشَّرْنَٰهَا بِإِسْحَٰقَ وَمِن وَرَآءِ إِسْحَٰقَ يَعْقُوبَ

wa-imraʾatuhu qāʾimatun fa-ḍaḥikat fa-bashsharnāhā bi-iṣḥāqa wa-min warāʾi isḥāqa yaʿqūba

And his wife was standing (there), and she laughed: But we gave her glad tidings of Isaac, and after him, of Jacob.

Sura al-Muʾminūn 23:110

فَٱتَّخَذْتُمُوهُمْ سِخْرِيًّا حَتَّىٰٓ أَنسَوْكُمْ ذِكْرِى وَكُنتُم مِّنْهُمْ تَضْحَكُونَ

fa-ittakhadhtumūhum sikhriyyan ḥatta ansawkum dhikrī wa-kuntum minhum taḍḥakūna

"But ye treated them with ridicule, so much so that (ridicule of) them made you forget My Message while ye were laughing at them!

Sura al-Zukhruf 43:47

فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُم بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ إِذَا هُم مِّنْهَا يَضْحَكُونَ

fa-lammā jāʾahum bi-āyātinā idhā hum minhā yaḍḥakūna

But when he came to them with Our Signs, behold they ridiculed them.

Sura al-Najm 53:43

وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَضْحَكَ وَأَبْكَىٰ

wa-annahu huwa aḍḥaka wa-abkā

That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears;

Sura al-Najm 53:60

وَتَضْحَكُونَ وَلَا تَبْكُونَ

wa-taḍḥakūna wa-lā tabkūna

And will ye laugh and not weep,-

Sura al-Muṭaffifīn 83:29

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا۟ كَانُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ يَضْحَكُونَ

inna lladhīna ajramū kānū mina lladhīna āmanū yaḍḥakūna

Those in sin used to laugh at those who believed,

Sura al-Muṭaffifīn 83:34

فَٱلْيَوْمَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْكُفَّارِ يَضْحَكُونَ

fa-l-yawma lladhīna āmanū mina l-kuffāri yaḍḥakūna

But on this Day the Believers will laugh at the Unbelievers:
