(2:102) | وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ مَا تَتْلُوا۟ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينُ عَلَىٰ مُلْكِ سُلَيْمَٰنَ وَمَا كَفَرَ سُلَيْمَٰنُ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يُعَلِّمُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ ٱلسِّحْرَ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَى ٱلْمَلَكَيْنِ بِبَابِلَ هَٰرُوتَ وَمَٰرُوتَ وَمَا يُعَلِّمَانِ مِنْ أَحَدٍ حَتَّىٰ يَقُولَآ إِنَّمَا نَحْنُ فِتْنَةٌ فَلَا تَكْفُرْ فَيَتَعَلَّمُونَ مِنْهُمَا مَا يُفَرِّقُونَ بِهِۦ بَيْنَ ٱلْمَرْءِ وَزَوْجِهِۦ وَمَا هُم بِضَآرِّينَ بِهِۦ مِنْ أَحَدٍ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّـهِ وَيَتَعَلَّمُونَ مَا يَضُرُّهُمْ وَلَا يَنفَعُهُمْ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمُوا۟ لَمَنِ ٱشْتَرَىٰهُ مَا لَهُۥ فِى ٱلْأَخِرَةِ مِنْ خَلَٰقٍ وَلَبِئْسَ مَا شَرَوْا۟ بِهِۦٓ أَنفُسَهُمْ لَوْ كَانُوا۟ يَعْلَمُونَ | wa‑ittabaʿū mā tatlū l‑shayāṭīnu ʿalā mulki sulaymāna wa‑mā kafara sulaymānu wa‑lākinna l‑shayāṭīna kafarū yuʿallimūna l‑nāsa l‑siḥra wa‑mā unzila ʿalā l‑malakayni bi‑bābila hārūta wa‑mārūta wa‑mā yuʿallimāni min aḥadin ḥattā yaqūlā innamā naḥnu fitnatun fa‑lā takfur fa‑yataʿallamūna minhumā mā yufarriqūna bihi bayna l‑mari wa‑zawjihi wa‑mā hum bi‑ḍārrīna bihi min aḥadin illā bi‑idhni allāhi wa‑yataʿallamūna mā yaḍurruhum wa‑lā yanfaʿuhum wa‑la‑qad ʿalimū lamani ishtarāhu mā lahu fī l‑akhirati min khalāqin wa‑la‑biʾsa mā sharaw bihi anfusahum law kānū yaʿlamūna | They followed what the evil ones gave out (falsely) against
the power of Solomon: the blasphemers Were, not Solomon, but the evil ones,
teaching men Magic, and such things as came down at babylon to the angels
Harut and Marut. But neither of these taught anyone (Such things) without
saying: "We are only for trial; so do not blaspheme." They learned from
them the means to sow discord between man and wife. But they could not thus
harm anyone except by Allah's permission. And they learned what harmed them,
not what profited them. And they knew that the buyers of (magic) would have
no share in the happiness of the Hereafter. And vile was the price for
which they did sell their souls, if they but knew!

(2:173) | إِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْمَيْتَةَ وَٱلدَّمَ وَلَحْمَ ٱلْخِنزِيرِ وَمَآ أُهِلَّ بِهِۦ لِغَيْرِ ٱللَّـهِ فَمَنِ ٱضْطُرَّ غَيْرَ بَاغٍ وَلَا عَادٍ فَلَآ إِثْمَ عَلَيْهِ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ | innamā ḥarrama ʿalaykumu l‑maytata wa‑l‑dama wa‑laḥma l‑khinzīri wa‑mā uhilla bihi li‑ghayri allāhi fa‑mani iḍṭurra ghayra bāghin wa‑lā ʿādin fa‑lā ithma ʿalayhi inna allāha ghafūrun raḥīmun | He hath only forbidden you dead meat, and blood, and the flesh
of swine, and that on which any other name hath been invoked besides that
of Allah. But if one is forced by necessity, without wilful disobedience, nor
transgressing due limits,- then is he guiltless. For Allah is Oft-forgiving
Most Merciful.
Sura al-Baqara 2:173 إِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْمَيْتَةَ وَٱلدَّمَ وَلَحْمَ ٱلْخِنزِيرِ وَمَآ أُهِلَّ بِهِۦ لِغَيْرِ ٱللَّـهِ فَمَنِ ٱضْطُرَّ غَيْرَ بَاغٍ وَلَا عَادٍ فَلَآ إِثْمَ عَلَيْهِ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ innamā ḥarrama ʿalaykumu l-maytata wa-l-dama wa-laḥma l-khinzīri wa-mā uhilla bihi li-ghayri allāhi fa-mani iḍṭurra ghayra bāghin wa-lā ʿādin fa-lā ithma ʿalayhi inna allāha ghafūrun raḥīmun He hath only forbidden you dead meat, and blood, and the flesh of swine, and that on which any other name hath been invoked besides that of Allah. But if one is forced by necessity, without wilful disobedience, nor transgressing due limits,- then is he guiltless. For Allah is Oft-forgiving Most Merciful. |
(2:282) | يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِذَا تَدَايَنتُم بِدَيْنٍ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى فَٱكْتُبُوهُ وَلْيَكْتُب بَّيْنَكُمْ كَاتِبٌۢ بِٱلْعَدْلِ وَلَا يَأْبَ كَاتِبٌ أَن يَكْتُبَ كَمَا عَلَّمَهُ ٱللَّـهُ فَلْيَكْتُبْ وَلْيُمْلِلِ ٱلَّذِى عَلَيْهِ ٱلْحَقُّ وَلْيَتَّقِ ٱللَّـهَ رَبَّهُۥ وَلَا يَبْخَسْ مِنْهُ شَيْـًٔا فَإِن كَانَ ٱلَّذِى عَلَيْهِ ٱلْحَقُّ سَفِيهًا أَوْ ضَعِيفًا أَوْ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ أَن يُمِلَّ هُوَ فَلْيُمْلِلْ وَلِيُّهُۥ بِٱلْعَدْلِ وَٱسْتَشْهِدُوا۟ شَهِيدَيْنِ مِن رِّجَالِكُمْ فَإِن لَّمْ يَكُونَا رَجُلَيْنِ فَرَجُلٌ وَٱمْرَأَتَانِ مِمَّن تَرْضَوْنَ مِنَ ٱلشُّهَدَآءِ أَن تَضِلَّ إِحْدَىٰهُمَا فَتُذَكِّرَ إِحْدَىٰهُمَا ٱلْأُخْرَىٰ وَلَا يَأْبَ ٱلشُّهَدَآءُ إِذَا مَا دُعُوا۟ وَلَا تَسْـَٔمُوٓا۟ أَن تَكْتُبُوهُ صَغِيرًا أَوْ كَبِيرًا إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلِهِۦ ذَٰلِكُمْ أَقْسَطُ عِندَ ٱللَّـهِ وَأَقْوَمُ لِلشَّهَٰدَةِ وَأَدْنَىٰٓ أَلَّا تَرْتَابُوٓا۟ إِلَّآ أَن تَكُونَ تِجَٰرَةً حَاضِرَةً تُدِيرُونَهَا بَيْنَكُمْ فَلَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌ أَلَّا تَكْتُبُوهَا وَأَشْهِدُوٓا۟ إِذَا تَبَايَعْتُمْ وَلَا يُضَآرَّ كَاتِبٌ وَلَا شَهِيدٌ وَإِن تَفْعَلُوا۟ فَإِنَّهُۥ فُسُوقٌۢ بِكُمْ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ وَيُعَلِّمُكُمُ ٱللَّـهُ وَٱللَّـهُ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمٌ | yā‑ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū idhā tadāyantum bi‑daynin ila ajalin musamman fa‑uktubūhu wa‑l‑yaktub baynakum kātibun bil‑ʿadli wa‑lā yaʾba kātibun an yaktuba ka‑mā ʿallamahu allāhu fa‑l‑yaktub wa‑l‑yumlili alladhī ʿalayhi l‑ḥaqqu wa‑l‑yattaqi allāha rabbahu wa‑lā yabkhas minhu shayʾan fa‑in kāna alladhī ʿalayhi l‑ḥaqqu safīhan aw ḍaʿīfan aw lā yastaṭīʿu an yumilla huwa fa‑lyumlil walīyuhu bil‑ʿadli wa‑istashhidū shahīdayni min rijālikum fa‑in lam yakūnā rajulayni fa‑rajulun wa‑amraʾatāni mimman tarḍawna mina l‑shuhadāʾi an taḍilla iḥdāhumā fa‑tudhakkira iḥdāhumā l‑ukhrā wa‑lā yaʾba l‑suhadāʾu idhā mā duʿū wa‑lā tasʾamū an taktubūhu ṣaghīran aw kabīran ila ajalihi dhālikum aqsaṭu ʿinda allāhi wa‑aqwamu lil‑shahādati wa‑adna allā tartābū illā an takūna tijāratan ḥāḍiratan tudīrūnahā baynakum fa‑laysa ʿalaykum junāḥun allā taktubūhā wa‑ashhidū idhā tabāyaʿtum wa‑lā yuḍārra kātibun wa‑lā shahīdun wa‑in tafʿalū fa‑innahu fusūqun bikum wa‑ittaqū allāha wayuʿallimukumu allāhu wallāhu bi‑kulli shayʾin ʿalīmun | O ye who believe! When ye deal with each other, in transactions involving future obligations in a fixed period of time, reduce them to writing Let a scribe write down faithfully as between the parties: let not the scribe refuse to write: as Allah Has taught him, so let him write. Let him who incurs the liability dictate, but let him fear His Lord Allah, and not diminish aught of what he owes. If the party liable is mentally deficient, or weak, or unable Himself to dictate, Let his guardian dictate faithfully, and get two witnesses, out of your own men, and if there are not two men, then a man and two women, such as ye choose, for witnesses, so that if one of them errs, the other can remind her. The witnesses should not refuse when they are called on (For evidence). Disdain not to reduce to writing (your contract) for a future period, whether it be small or big: it is juster in the sight of Allah, More suitable as evidence, and more convenient to prevent doubts among yourselves but if it be a transaction which ye carry out on the spot among yourselves, there is no blame on you if ye reduce it not to writing. But take witness whenever ye make a commercial contract; and let neither scribe nor witness suffer harm. If ye do (such harm), it would be wickedness in you. So fear Allah; For it is Allah that teaches you. And Allah is well acquainted with all things.

(3:111) | لَن يَضُرُّوكُمْ إِلَّآ أَذًى وَإِن يُقَٰتِلُوكُمْ يُوَلُّوكُمُ ٱلْأَدْبَارَ ثُمَّ لَا يُنصَرُونَ | lan yaḍurrūkum illā adhan wa‑in yuqātilūkum yuwallūkumu l‑adbāra thumma lā yunṣarūna | They will do you no harm, barring a trifling annoyance; if
they come out to fight you, they will show you their backs, and no help
shall they get.
Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:111 لَن يَضُرُّوكُمْ إِلَّآ أَذًى وَإِن يُقَٰتِلُوكُمْ يُوَلُّوكُمُ ٱلْأَدْبَارَ ثُمَّ لَا يُنصَرُونَ lan yaḍurrūkum illā adhan wa-in yuqātilūkum yuwallūkumu l-adbāra thumma lā yunṣarūna They will do you no harm, barring a trifling annoyance; if they come out to fight you, they will show you their backs, and no help shall they get. |
(3:120) | إِن تَمْسَسْكُمْ حَسَنَةٌ تَسُؤْهُمْ وَإِن تُصِبْكُمْ سَيِّئَةٌ يَفْرَحُوا۟ بِهَا وَإِن تَصْبِرُوا۟ وَتَتَّقُوا۟ لَا يَضُرُّكُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْـًٔا إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ مُحِيطٌ | in tamsaskum ḥasanatun tasuʾhum wa‑in tuṣibkum sayyiʾatun yafraḥū bihā wa‑in taṣbirū wa‑tattaqū lā yaḍurrukum kayduhum shayʾan inna allāha bi‑mā yaʿmalūna muḥīṭun | If aught that is good befalls you, it grieves them; but if
some misfortune overtakes you, they rejoice at it. But if ye are constant
and do right, not the least harm will their cunning do to you; for Allah
Compasseth round about all that they do.
Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:120 إِن تَمْسَسْكُمْ حَسَنَةٌ تَسُؤْهُمْ وَإِن تُصِبْكُمْ سَيِّئَةٌ يَفْرَحُوا۟ بِهَا وَإِن تَصْبِرُوا۟ وَتَتَّقُوا۟ لَا يَضُرُّكُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْـًٔا إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ مُحِيطٌ in tamsaskum ḥasanatun tasuʾhum wa-in tuṣibkum sayyiʾatun yafraḥū bihā wa-in taṣbirū wa-tattaqū lā yaḍurrukum kayduhum shayʾan inna allāha bi-mā yaʿmalūna muḥīṭun If aught that is good befalls you, it grieves them; but if some misfortune overtakes you, they rejoice at it. But if ye are constant and do right, not the least harm will their cunning do to you; for Allah Compasseth round about all that they do. |
(3:144) | وَمَا مُحَمَّدٌ إِلَّا رَسُولٌ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِهِ ٱلرُّسُلُ أَفَإِي۟ن مَّاتَ أَوْ قُتِلَ ٱنقَلَبْتُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْقَٰبِكُمْ وَمَن يَنقَلِبْ عَلَىٰ عَقِبَيْهِ فَلَن يَضُرَّ ٱللَّـهَ شَيْـًٔا وَسَيَجْزِى ٱللَّـهُ ٱلشَّٰكِرِينَ | wa‑mā muḥammadun illā rasūlun qad khalat min qablihi l‑rusulu a‑fa‑īn māta aw qutila inqalabtum ʿala aʿqābikum wa‑man yanqalib ʿalā ʿaqibayhi fa‑lan yaḍurra allāha shayʾan wasayajzī allāhu l‑shākirīna | Muhammad is no more than a messenger: many Were the messenger
that passed away before him. If he died or were slain, will ye then Turn
back on your heels? If any did turn back on his heels, not the least harm
will he do to Allah; but Allah (on the other hand) will swiftly reward those
who (serve Him) with gratitude.
Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:144 وَمَا مُحَمَّدٌ إِلَّا رَسُولٌ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِهِ ٱلرُّسُلُ أَفَإِي۟ن مَّاتَ أَوْ قُتِلَ ٱنقَلَبْتُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْقَٰبِكُمْ وَمَن يَنقَلِبْ عَلَىٰ عَقِبَيْهِ فَلَن يَضُرَّ ٱللَّـهَ شَيْـًٔا وَسَيَجْزِى ٱللَّـهُ ٱلشَّٰكِرِينَ wa-mā muḥammadun illā rasūlun qad khalat min qablihi l-rusulu a-fa-īn māta aw qutila inqalabtum ʿala aʿqābikum wa-man yanqalib ʿalā ʿaqibayhi fa-lan yaḍurra allāha shayʾan wasayajzī allāhu l-shākirīna Muhammad is no more than a messenger: many Were the messenger that passed away before him. If he died or were slain, will ye then Turn back on your heels? If any did turn back on his heels, not the least harm will he do to Allah; but Allah (on the other hand) will swiftly reward those who (serve Him) with gratitude. |
(3:176) | وَلَا يَحْزُنكَ ٱلَّذِينَ يُسَٰرِعُونَ فِى ٱلْكُفْرِ إِنَّهُمْ لَن يَضُرُّوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ شَيْـًٔا يُرِيدُ ٱللَّـهُ أَلَّا يَجْعَلَ لَهُمْ حَظًّا فِى ٱلْأَخِرَةِ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ | wa‑lā yaḥzunka lladhīna yusāriʿūna fī l‑kufri innahum lan yaḍurrū allāha shayʾan yurīdu allāhu allā yajʿala lahum ḥaẓẓan fī l‑akhirati wa‑lahum ʿadhābun ʿaẓīmun | Let not those grieve thee who rush headlong into Unbelief: Not
the least harm will they do to Allah: Allah's plan is that He will give them no
portion in the Hereafter, but a severe punishment.
Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:176 وَلَا يَحْزُنكَ ٱلَّذِينَ يُسَٰرِعُونَ فِى ٱلْكُفْرِ إِنَّهُمْ لَن يَضُرُّوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ شَيْـًٔا يُرِيدُ ٱللَّـهُ أَلَّا يَجْعَلَ لَهُمْ حَظًّا فِى ٱلْأَخِرَةِ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ wa-lā yaḥzunka lladhīna yusāriʿūna fī l-kufri innahum lan yaḍurrū allāha shayʾan yurīdu allāhu allā yajʿala lahum ḥaẓẓan fī l-akhirati wa-lahum ʿadhābun ʿaẓīmun Let not those grieve thee who rush headlong into Unbelief: Not the least harm will they do to Allah: Allah's plan is that He will give them no portion in the Hereafter, but a severe punishment. |
(3:177) | إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱشْتَرَوُا۟ ٱلْكُفْرَ بِٱلْإِيمَٰنِ لَن يَضُرُّوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ شَيْـًٔا وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ | inna lladhīna ishtarawu l‑kufra bi‑l‑īmāni lan yaḍurrū allāha shayʾan wa‑lahum ʿadhābun alīmun | Those who purchase Unbelief at the price of faith,- not the
least harm will they do to Allah, but they will have a grievous punishment.
Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:177 إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱشْتَرَوُا۟ ٱلْكُفْرَ بِٱلْإِيمَٰنِ لَن يَضُرُّوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ شَيْـًٔا وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ inna lladhīna ishtarawu l-kufra bi-l-īmāni lan yaḍurrū allāha shayʾan wa-lahum ʿadhābun alīmun Those who purchase Unbelief at the price of faith,- not the least harm will they do to Allah, but they will have a grievous punishment. |
(4:113) | وَلَوْلَا فَضْلُ ٱللَّـهِ عَلَيْكَ وَرَحْمَتُهُۥ لَهَمَّت طَّآئِفَةٌ مِّنْهُمْ أَن يُضِلُّوكَ وَمَا يُضِلُّونَ إِلَّآ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَمَا يَضُرُّونَكَ مِن شَىْءٍ وَأَنزَلَ ٱللَّـهُ عَلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ وَعَلَّمَكَ مَا لَمْ تَكُن تَعْلَمُ وَكَانَ فَضْلُ ٱللَّـهِ عَلَيْكَ عَظِيمًا | wa‑lawlā faḍlu allāhi ʿalayka wa‑raḥmatuhu lahammat ṭāʾifatun minhum an yuḍillūka wa‑mā yuḍillūna illā anfusahum wa‑mā yaḍurrūnaka min shayʾin waanzala allāhu ʿalayka l‑kitāba wa‑l‑ḥikmata wa‑ʿallamaka mā lam takun taʿlamu wa‑kāna faḍlu allāhi ʿalayka ʿaẓīman | But for the Grace of Allah to thee and his Mercy, a party of
them would certainly have plotted to lead thee astray. But (in fact) they
will only Lead their own souls astray, and to thee they can do no harm in
the least. For Allah hath sent down to thee the Book and wisdom and taught
thee what thou Knewest not (before): And great is the Grace of Allah unto
thee.
Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:113 وَلَوْلَا فَضْلُ ٱللَّـهِ عَلَيْكَ وَرَحْمَتُهُۥ لَهَمَّت طَّآئِفَةٌ مِّنْهُمْ أَن يُضِلُّوكَ وَمَا يُضِلُّونَ إِلَّآ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَمَا يَضُرُّونَكَ مِن شَىْءٍ وَأَنزَلَ ٱللَّـهُ عَلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ وَعَلَّمَكَ مَا لَمْ تَكُن تَعْلَمُ وَكَانَ فَضْلُ ٱللَّـهِ عَلَيْكَ عَظِيمًا wa-lawlā faḍlu allāhi ʿalayka wa-raḥmatuhu lahammat ṭāʾifatun minhum an yuḍillūka wa-mā yuḍillūna illā anfusahum wa-mā yaḍurrūnaka min shayʾin waanzala allāhu ʿalayka l-kitāba wa-l-ḥikmata wa-ʿallamaka mā lam takun taʿlamu wa-kāna faḍlu allāhi ʿalayka ʿaẓīman But for the Grace of Allah to thee and his Mercy, a party of them would certainly have plotted to lead thee astray. (5:3) | حُرِّمَتْ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْمَيْتَةُ وَٱلدَّمُ وَلَحْمُ ٱلْخِنزِيرِ وَمَآ أُهِلَّ لِغَيْرِ ٱللَّـهِ بِهِۦ وَٱلْمُنْخَنِقَةُ وَٱلْمَوْقُوذَةُ وَٱلْمُتَرَدِّيَةُ وَٱلنَّطِيحَةُ وَمَآ أَكَلَ ٱلسَّبُعُ إِلَّا مَا ذَكَّيْتُمْ وَمَا ذُبِحَ عَلَى ٱلنُّصُبِ وَأَن تَسْتَقْسِمُوا۟ بِٱلْأَزْلَٰمِ ذَٰلِكُمْ فِسْقٌ ٱلْيَوْمَ يَئِسَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن دِينِكُمْ فَلَا تَخْشَوْهُمْ وَٱخْشَوْنِ ٱلْيَوْمَ أَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمْ دِينَكُمْ وَأَتْمَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعْمَتِى وَرَضِيتُ لَكُمُ ٱلْإِسْلَٰمَ دِينًا فَمَنِ ٱضْطُرَّ فِى مَخْمَصَةٍ غَيْرَ مُتَجَانِفٍ لِّإِثْمٍ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ | ḥurrimat ʿalaykumu l‑maytatu wa‑l‑damu wa‑laḥmu l‑khinzīri wa‑mā uhilla li‑ghayri allāhi bihi wa‑l‑munkhaniqatu wa‑l‑mawqūdhatu wa‑l‑mutaraddiyatu wa‑l‑naṭīḥatu wa‑mā akala l‑sabuʿu illā mā dhakkaytum wa‑mā dhubiḥa ʿalā l‑nuṣubi wa‑an tastaqsimū bil‑azlāmi dhālikum fisqun l‑yawma yaʾisa lladhīna kafarū min dīnikum fa‑lā takhshawhum wa‑ikhshawni l‑yawma akmaltu la‑kum dīnakum wa‑atmamtu ʿalaykum niʿmatī wa‑raḍītu lakumu l‑islāma dīnan fa‑mani iḍṭurra fī makhmaṣatin ghayra mutajānifin li‑ithmin fa‑inna allāha ghafūrun raḥīmun | Forbidden to you (for food) are: dead meat, blood, the flesh
of swine, and that on which hath been invoked the name of other than Allah;
that which hath been killed by strangling, or by a violent blow, or by a
headlong fall, or by being gored to death; that which hath been (partly)
eaten by a wild animal; unless ye are able to slaughter it (in due form);
that which is sacrificed on stone (altars); (forbidden) also is the
division (of meat) by raffling with arrows: that is impiety. This day have
those who reject faith given up all hope of your religion: yet fear them
not but fear Me. This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed
My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion. But if
any is forced by hunger, with no inclination to transgression, Allah is
indeed Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.
Sura al-Māʾidah 5:3 حُرِّمَتْ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْمَيْتَةُ وَٱلدَّمُ وَلَحْمُ ٱلْخِنزِيرِ وَمَآ أُهِلَّ لِغَيْرِ ٱللَّـهِ بِهِۦ وَٱلْمُنْخَنِقَةُ وَٱلْمَوْقُوذَةُ وَٱلْمُتَرَدِّيَةُ وَٱلنَّطِيحَةُ وَمَآ أَكَلَ ٱلسَّبُعُ إِلَّا مَا ذَكَّيْتُمْ وَمَا ذُبِحَ عَلَى ٱلنُّصُبِ وَأَن تَسْتَقْسِمُوا۟ بِٱلْأَزْلَٰمِ ذَٰلِكُمْ فِسْقٌ ٱلْيَوْمَ يَئِسَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن دِينِكُمْ فَلَا تَخْشَوْهُمْ وَٱخْشَوْنِ ٱلْيَوْمَ أَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمْ دِينَكُمْ وَأَتْمَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعْمَتِى وَرَضِيتُ لَكُمُ ٱلْإِسْلَٰمَ دِينًا فَمَنِ ٱضْطُرَّ فِى مَخْمَصَةٍ غَيْرَ مُتَجَانِفٍ لِّإِثْمٍ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ ḥurrimat ʿalaykumu l-maytatu wa-l-damu wa-laḥmu l-khinzīri wa-mā uhilla li-ghayri allāhi bihi wa-l-munkhaniqatu wa-l-mawqūdhatu wa-l-mutaraddiyatu wa-l-naṭīḥatu wa-mā akala l-sabuʿu illā mā dhakkaytum wa-mā dhubiḥa ʿalā l-nuṣubi wa-an tastaqsimū bil-azlāmi dhālikum fisqun l-yawma yaʾisa lladhīna kafarū min dīnikum fa-lā takhshawhum wa-ikhshawni l-yawma akmaltu la-kum dīnakum wa-atmamtu ʿalaykum niʿmatī wa-raḍītu lakumu l-islāma dīnan fa-mani iḍṭurra fī makhmaṣatin ghayra mutajānifin li-ithmin fa-inna allāha ghafūrun raḥīmun Forbidden to you (for food) are: dead meat, blood, the flesh of swine, and that on which hath been invoked the name of other than Allah; that which hath been killed by strangling, or by a violent blow, or by a headlong fall, or by being gored to death; that which hath been (partly) eaten by a wild animal; unless ye are able to slaughter it (in due form); that which is sacrificed on stone (altars); (forbidden) also is the division (of meat) by raffling with arrows: that is impiety. (5:42) | سَمَّٰعُونَ لِلْكَذِبِ أَكَّٰلُونَ لِلسُّحْتِ فَإِن جَآءُوكَ فَٱحْكُم بَيْنَهُمْ أَوْ أَعْرِضْ عَنْهُمْ وَإِن تُعْرِضْ عَنْهُمْ فَلَن يَضُرُّوكَ شَيْـًٔا وَإِنْ حَكَمْتَ فَٱحْكُم بَيْنَهُم بِٱلْقِسْطِ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُقْسِطِينَ | sammāʿūna lil‑kadhibi akkālūna lil‑suḥti fa‑in jāʾūka fa‑iḥkum baynahum aw aʿriḍ ʿanhum wa‑in tuʿriḍ ʿanhum fa‑lan yaḍurrūka shayʾan wa‑in ḥakamta fa‑iḥkum baynahum bil‑qisṭi inna allāha yuḥibbu l‑muqsiṭīna | (They are fond of) listening to falsehood, of devouring
anything forbidden. If they do come to thee, either judge between them, or
decline to interfere. If thou decline, they cannot hurt thee in the least.
If thou judge, judge in equity between them. For Allah loveth those who judge
in equity.
Sura al-Māʾidah 5:42 سَمَّٰعُونَ لِلْكَذِبِ أَكَّٰلُونَ لِلسُّحْتِ فَإِن جَآءُوكَ فَٱحْكُم بَيْنَهُمْ أَوْ أَعْرِضْ عَنْهُمْ وَإِن تُعْرِضْ عَنْهُمْ فَلَن يَضُرُّوكَ شَيْـًٔا وَإِنْ حَكَمْتَ فَٱحْكُم بَيْنَهُم بِٱلْقِسْطِ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُقْسِطِينَ sammāʿūna lil-kadhibi akkālūna lil-suḥti fa-in jāʾūka fa-iḥkum baynahum aw aʿriḍ ʿanhum wa-in tuʿriḍ ʿanhum fa-lan yaḍurrūka shayʾan wa-in ḥakamta fa-iḥkum baynahum bil-qisṭi inna allāha yuḥibbu l-muqsiṭīna (They are fond of) listening to falsehood, of devouring anything forbidden. If they do come to thee, either judge between them, or decline to interfere. If thou decline, they cannot hurt thee in the least. If thou judge, judge in equity between them. For Allah loveth those who judge in equity. |
(5:105) | يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ عَلَيْكُمْ أَنفُسَكُمْ لَا يَضُرُّكُم مَّن ضَلَّ إِذَا ٱهْتَدَيْتُمْ إِلَى ٱللَّـهِ مَرْجِعُكُمْ جَمِيعًا فَيُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ | yā‑ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū ʿalaykum anfusakum lā yaḍurrukum man ḍalla idhā ihtadaytum ilā allāhi marjiʿukum jamīʿan fa‑yunabbiʾukum bi‑mā kuntum taʿmalūna | O ye who believe! Guard your own souls: If ye follow (right)
guidance, no hurt can come to you from those who stray. the goal of you all
is to Allah: it is He that will show you the truth of all that ye do.
Sura al-Māʾidah 5:105 يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ عَلَيْكُمْ أَنفُسَكُمْ لَا يَضُرُّكُم مَّن ضَلَّ إِذَا ٱهْتَدَيْتُمْ إِلَى ٱللَّـهِ مَرْجِعُكُمْ جَمِيعًا فَيُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ yā-ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū ʿalaykum anfusakum lā yaḍurrukum man ḍalla idhā ihtadaytum ilā allāhi marjiʿukum jamīʿan fa-yunabbiʾukum bi-mā kuntum taʿmalūna O ye who believe! Guard your own souls: If ye follow (right) guidance, no hurt can come to you from those who stray. the goal of you all is to Allah: it is He that will show you the truth of all that ye do. |
(6:71) | قُلْ أَنَدْعُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّـهِ مَا لَا يَنفَعُنَا وَلَا يَضُرُّنَا وَنُرَدُّ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْقَابِنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَىٰنَا ٱللَّـهُ كَٱلَّذِى ٱسْتَهْوَتْهُ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينُ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ حَيْرَانَ لَهُۥٓ أَصْحَٰبٌ يَدْعُونَهُۥٓ إِلَى ٱلْهُدَى ٱئْتِنَا قُلْ إِنَّ هُدَى ٱللَّـهِ هُوَ ٱلْهُدَىٰ وَأُمِرْنَا لِنُسْلِمَ لِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ | qul anadʿū min dūni allāhi mā lā yanfaʿunā wa‑lā yaḍurrunā wa‑nuraddu ʿala aʿqābinā baʿda idh hadanā allāhu ka‑lladhī istahwathu l‑shayāṭīnu fī l‑arḍi ḥayrāna lahu aṣḥābun yadʿūnahu ilā al‑huda iʾtinā qul inna huda allāhi huwa l‑hudā wa‑umirnā linuslima li‑rabbi l‑ʿālamīna | Say: "Shall we indeed call on others besides Allah,- things that
can do us neither good nor harm,- and turn on our heels after receiving
guidance from Allah? - like one whom the evil ones have made into a fool,
wandering bewildered through the earth, his friends calling, come to us',
(vainly) guiding him to the path." Say: "Allah's guidance is the (only)
guidance, and we have been directed to submit ourselves to the Lord of the
worlds;-
Sura al-Anʿām 6:71 قُلْ أَنَدْعُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّـهِ مَا لَا يَنفَعُنَا وَلَا يَضُرُّنَا وَنُرَدُّ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْقَابِنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَىٰنَا ٱللَّـهُ كَٱلَّذِى ٱسْتَهْوَتْهُ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينُ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ حَيْرَانَ لَهُۥٓ أَصْحَٰبٌ يَدْعُونَهُۥٓ إِلَى ٱلْهُدَى ٱئْتِنَا قُلْ إِنَّ هُدَى ٱللَّـهِ هُوَ ٱلْهُدَىٰ وَأُمِرْنَا لِنُسْلِمَ لِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ qul anadʿū min dūni allāhi mā lā yanfaʿunā wa-lā yaḍurrunā wa-nuraddu ʿala aʿqābinā baʿda idh hadanā allāhu ka-lladhī istahwathu l-shayāṭīnu fī l-arḍi ḥayrāna lahu aṣḥābun yadʿūnahu ilā al-huda iʾtinā qul inna huda allāhi huwa l-hudā wa-umirnā linuslima li-rabbi l-ʿālamīna Say: "Shall we indeed call on others besides Allah,- things that can do us neither good nor harm,- and turn on our heels after receiving guidance from Allah? - like one whom the evil ones have made into a fool, wandering bewildered through the earth, his friends calling, come to us', (vainly) guiding him to the path." (6:119) | وَمَا لَكُمْ أَلَّا تَأْكُلُوا۟ مِمَّا ذُكِرَ ٱسْمُ ٱللَّـهِ عَلَيْهِ وَقَدْ فَصَّلَ لَكُم مَّا حَرَّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ إِلَّا مَا ٱضْطُرِرْتُمْ إِلَيْهِ وَإِنَّ كَثِيرًا لَّيُضِلُّونَ بِأَهْوَآئِهِم بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِٱلْمُعْتَدِينَ | wa‑mā la‑kum allā taʾkulū mimmā dhukira smu allāhi ʿalayhi wa‑qad faṣṣala la‑kum mā ḥarrama ʿalaykum illā mā aḍṭurirtum ilayhi wa‑inna kathīran la‑yuḍillūna bi‑ahwāʾihim bi‑ghayri ʿilmin inna rabbaka huwa aʿlamu bil‑muʿtadīna | Why should ye not eat of (meats) on which Allah's name hath been
pronounced, when He hath explained to you in detail what is forbidden to
you - except under compulsion of necessity? But many do mislead (men) by
their appetites unchecked by knowledge. Thy Lord knoweth best those who
transgress.
Sura al-Anʿām 6:119 وَمَا لَكُمْ أَلَّا تَأْكُلُوا۟ مِمَّا ذُكِرَ ٱسْمُ ٱللَّـهِ عَلَيْهِ وَقَدْ فَصَّلَ لَكُم مَّا حَرَّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ إِلَّا مَا ٱضْطُرِرْتُمْ إِلَيْهِ وَإِنَّ كَثِيرًا لَّيُضِلُّونَ بِأَهْوَآئِهِم بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِٱلْمُعْتَدِينَ wa-mā la-kum allā taʾkulū mimmā dhukira smu allāhi ʿalayhi wa-qad faṣṣala la-kum mā ḥarrama ʿalaykum illā mā aḍṭurirtum ilayhi wa-inna kathīran la-yuḍillūna bi-ahwāʾihim bi-ghayri ʿilmin inna rabbaka huwa aʿlamu bil-muʿtadīna Why should ye not eat of (meats) on which Allah's name hath been pronounced, when He hath explained to you in detail what is forbidden to you - except under compulsion of necessity? (6:145) | قُل لَّآ أَجِدُ فِى مَآ أُوحِىَ إِلَىَّ مُحَرَّمًا عَلَىٰ طَاعِمٍ يَطْعَمُهُۥٓ إِلَّآ أَن يَكُونَ مَيْتَةً أَوْ دَمًا مَّسْفُوحًا أَوْ لَحْمَ خِنزِيرٍ فَإِنَّهُۥ رِجْسٌ أَوْ فِسْقًا أُهِلَّ لِغَيْرِ ٱللَّـهِ بِهِۦ فَمَنِ ٱضْطُرَّ غَيْرَ بَاغٍ وَلَا عَادٍ فَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ | qul lā ajidu fī mā ūḥiya ilayya muḥarraman ʿalā ṭāʿimin yaṭʿamuhu illā an yakūna maytatan aw daman masfūḥan aw laḥma khinzīrin fa‑innahu rijsun aw fisqan uhilla li‑ghayri allāhi bihi fa‑mani iḍṭurra ghayra bāghin wa‑lā ʿādin fa‑inna rabbaka ghafūrun raḥīmun | Say: "I find not in the message received by me by inspiration
any (meat) forbidden to be eaten by one who wishes to eat it, unless it be
dead meat, or blood poured forth, or the flesh of swine,- for it is an
abomination - or, what is impious, (meat) on which a name has been invoked,
other than Allah's". But (even so), if a person is forced by necessity,
without wilful disobedience, nor transgressing due limits,- thy Lord is
Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.

(9:39) | إِلَّا تَنفِرُوا۟ يُعَذِّبْكُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا وَيَسْتَبْدِلْ قَوْمًا غَيْرَكُمْ وَلَا تَضُرُّوهُ شَيْـًٔا وَٱللَّـهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ | illā tanfirū yuʿadhdhibkum ʿadhāban alīman wa‑yastabdil qawman ghayrakum wa‑lā taḍurrūhu shayʾan wallāhu ʿalā kulli shayʾin qadīrun | Unless ye go forth, He will punish you with a grievous
penalty, and put others in your place; but Him ye would not harm in the
least. For Allah hath power over all things.
Sura al-Tawbah 9:39 إِلَّا تَنفِرُوا۟ يُعَذِّبْكُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا وَيَسْتَبْدِلْ قَوْمًا غَيْرَكُمْ وَلَا تَضُرُّوهُ شَيْـًٔا وَٱللَّـهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ illā tanfirū yuʿadhdhibkum ʿadhāban alīman wa-yastabdil qawman ghayrakum wa-lā taḍurrūhu shayʾan wallāhu ʿalā kulli shayʾin qadīrun Unless ye go forth, He will punish you with a grievous penalty, and put others in your place; but Him ye would not harm in the least. For Allah hath power over all things. |
(10:18) | وَيَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّـهِ مَا لَا يَضُرُّهُمْ وَلَا يَنفَعُهُمْ وَيَقُولُونَ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ شُفَعَٰٓؤُنَا عِندَ ٱللَّـهِ قُلْ أَتُنَبِّـُٔونَ ٱللَّـهَ بِمَا لَا يَعْلَمُ فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَلَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ | wa‑yaʿbudūna min dūni allāhi mā lā yaḍurruhum wa‑lā yanfaʿuhum wa‑yaqūlūna hāʾulāʾi shufaʿāʾunā ʿinda allāhi qul a‑tunabbiʾūna allāha bi‑mā lā yaʿlamu fī l‑samāwāti wa‑lā fī l‑arḍi subḥānahu wa‑taʿāla ʿammā yushrikūna | They serve, besides Allah, things that hurt them not nor profit
them, and they say: "These are our intercessors with Allah." Say: "Do ye
indeed inform Allah of something He knows not, in the heavens or on earth?-
Glory to Him! and far is He above the partners they ascribe (to Him)!"
Sura Yūnus 10:18 وَيَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّـهِ مَا لَا يَضُرُّهُمْ وَلَا يَنفَعُهُمْ وَيَقُولُونَ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ شُفَعَٰٓؤُنَا عِندَ ٱللَّـهِ قُلْ أَتُنَبِّـُٔونَ ٱللَّـهَ بِمَا لَا يَعْلَمُ فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَلَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ wa-yaʿbudūna min dūni allāhi mā lā yaḍurruhum wa-lā yanfaʿuhum wa-yaqūlūna hāʾulāʾi shufaʿāʾunā ʿinda allāhi qul a-tunabbiʾūna allāha bi-mā lā yaʿlamu fī l-samāwāti wa-lā fī l-arḍi subḥānahu wa-taʿāla ʿammā yushrikūna They serve, besides Allah, things that hurt them not nor profit them, and they say: "These are our intercessors with Allah." Say: "Do ye indeed inform Allah of something He knows not, in the heavens or on earth?- Glory to Him! and far is He above the partners they ascribe (to Him)!" |
(10:106) | وَلَا تَدْعُ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّـهِ مَا لَا يَنفَعُكَ وَلَا يَضُرُّكَ فَإِن فَعَلْتَ فَإِنَّكَ إِذًا مِّنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ | wa‑lā tadʿu min dūni allāhi mā lā yanfaʿuka wa‑lā yaḍurruka fa‑in faʿalta fa‑innaka idhan mina l‑ẓālimīna | "'Nor call on any, other than Allah;- Such will neither profit
thee nor hurt thee: if thou dost, behold! thou shalt certainly be of those
who do wrong.'"
Sura Yūnus 10:106 وَلَا تَدْعُ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّـهِ مَا لَا يَنفَعُكَ وَلَا يَضُرُّكَ فَإِن فَعَلْتَ فَإِنَّكَ إِذًا مِّنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ wa-lā tadʿu min dūni allāhi mā lā yanfaʿuka wa-lā yaḍurruka fa-in faʿalta fa-innaka idhan mina l-ẓālimīna "'Nor call on any, other than Allah;- Such will neither profit thee nor hurt thee: if thou dost, behold! thou shalt certainly be of those who do wrong.'" |
(11:57) | فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَقَدْ أَبْلَغْتُكُم مَّآ أُرْسِلْتُ بِهِۦٓ إِلَيْكُمْ وَيَسْتَخْلِفُ رَبِّى قَوْمًا غَيْرَكُمْ وَلَا تَضُرُّونَهُۥ شَيْـًٔا إِنَّ رَبِّى عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ حَفِيظٌ | fa‑in tawallaw fa‑qad ablaghtukum mā ursiltu bihi ilaykum wa‑yastakhlifu rabbī qawman ghayrakum wa‑lā taḍurrūnahu shayʾan inna rabbī ʿalā kulli shayʾin ḥafīẓun | "If ye turn away,- I (at least) have conveyed the Message with
which I was sent to you. My Lord will make another people to succeed you,
and you will not harm Him in the least. For my Lord hath care and watch
over all things."
Sura Hūd 11:57 فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَقَدْ أَبْلَغْتُكُم مَّآ أُرْسِلْتُ بِهِۦٓ إِلَيْكُمْ وَيَسْتَخْلِفُ رَبِّى قَوْمًا غَيْرَكُمْ وَلَا تَضُرُّونَهُۥ شَيْـًٔا إِنَّ رَبِّى عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ حَفِيظٌ fa-in tawallaw fa-qad ablaghtukum mā ursiltu bihi ilaykum wa-yastakhlifu rabbī qawman ghayrakum wa-lā taḍurrūnahu shayʾan inna rabbī ʿalā kulli shayʾin ḥafīẓun "If ye turn away,- I (at least) have conveyed the Message with which I was sent to you. My Lord will make another people to succeed you, and you will not harm Him in the least. For my Lord hath care and watch over all things." |
(16:115) | إِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْمَيْتَةَ وَٱلدَّمَ وَلَحْمَ ٱلْخِنزِيرِ وَمَآ أُهِلَّ لِغَيْرِ ٱللَّـهِ بِهِۦ فَمَنِ ٱضْطُرَّ غَيْرَ بَاغٍ وَلَا عَادٍ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ | innamā ḥarrama ʿalaykumu l‑maytata wa‑l‑dama wa‑laḥma l‑khinzīri wa‑mā uhilla li‑ghayri allāhi bihi fa‑mani iḍṭurra ghayra bāghin wa‑lā ʿādin fa‑inna allāha ghafūrun raḥīmun | He has only forbidden you dead meat, and blood, and the flesh
of swine, and any (food) over which the name of other than Allah has been
invoked. But if one is forced by necessity, without wilful disobedience,
nor transgressing due limits,- then Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
Sura al-Naḥl 16:115 إِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْمَيْتَةَ وَٱلدَّمَ وَلَحْمَ ٱلْخِنزِيرِ وَمَآ أُهِلَّ لِغَيْرِ ٱللَّـهِ بِهِۦ فَمَنِ ٱضْطُرَّ غَيْرَ بَاغٍ وَلَا عَادٍ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ innamā ḥarrama ʿalaykumu l-maytata wa-l-dama wa-laḥma l-khinzīri wa-mā uhilla li-ghayri allāhi bihi fa-mani iḍṭurra ghayra bāghin wa-lā ʿādin fa-inna allāha ghafūrun raḥīmun He has only forbidden you dead meat, and blood, and the flesh of swine, and any (food) over which the name of other than Allah has been invoked. But if one is forced by necessity, without wilful disobedience, nor transgressing due limits,- then Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. |
(21:66) | قَالَ أَفَتَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّـهِ مَا لَا يَنفَعُكُمْ شَيْـًٔا وَلَا يَضُرُّكُمْ | qalā a‑fa‑taʿbudūna min dūni allāhi mā lā yanfaʿukum shayʾan wa‑lā yaḍurrukum | (Abraham) said, "Do ye then worship, besides Allah, things that
can neither be of any good to you nor do you harm?
Sura al-Anbiyāʾ 21:66 قَالَ أَفَتَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّـهِ مَا لَا يَنفَعُكُمْ شَيْـًٔا وَلَا يَضُرُّكُمْ qalā a-fa-taʿbudūna min dūni allāhi mā lā yanfaʿukum shayʾan wa-lā yaḍurrukum (Abraham) said, "Do ye then worship, besides Allah, things that can neither be of any good to you nor do you harm? |
(22:12) | يَدْعُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّـهِ مَا لَا يَضُرُّهُۥ وَمَا لَا يَنفَعُهُۥ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلضَّلَٰلُ ٱلْبَعِيدُ | yadʿū min dūni allāhi mā lā yaḍurruhu wa‑mā lā yanfaʿuhu dhālika huwa l‑ḍalālu l‑baʿīdu | They call on such deities, besides Allah, as can neither hurt
nor profit them: that is straying far indeed (from the Way)!
Sura al-Ḥajj 22:12 يَدْعُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّـهِ مَا لَا يَضُرُّهُۥ وَمَا لَا يَنفَعُهُۥ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلضَّلَٰلُ ٱلْبَعِيدُ yadʿū min dūni allāhi mā lā yaḍurruhu wa-mā lā yanfaʿuhu dhālika huwa l-ḍalālu l-baʿīdu They call on such deities, besides Allah, as can neither hurt nor profit them: that is straying far indeed (from the Way)! |
(25:55) | وَيَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّـهِ مَا لَا يَنفَعُهُمْ وَلَا يَضُرُّهُمْ وَكَانَ ٱلْكَافِرُ عَلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ ظَهِيرًا | wa‑yaʿbudūna min dūni allāhi mā lā yanfaʿuhum wa‑lā yaḍurruhum wa‑kāna l‑kāfiru ʿalā rabbihi ẓahīran | Yet do they worship, besides Allah, things that can neither
profit them nor harm them: and the Misbeliever is a helper (of Evil),
against his own Lord!
Sura al-Furqān 25:55 وَيَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّـهِ مَا لَا يَنفَعُهُمْ وَلَا يَضُرُّهُمْ وَكَانَ ٱلْكَافِرُ عَلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ ظَهِيرًا wa-yaʿbudūna min dūni allāhi mā lā yanfaʿuhum wa-lā yaḍurruhum wa-kāna l-kāfiru ʿalā rabbihi ẓahīran Yet do they worship, besides Allah, things that can neither profit them nor harm them: and the Misbeliever is a helper (of Evil), against his own Lord! |
(26:73) | أَوْ يَنفَعُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَضُرُّونَ | aw yanfaʿūnakum aw yaḍurrūna | "Or do you good or harm?"
Sura al-Shuʿarā 26:73 أَوْ يَنفَعُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَضُرُّونَ aw yanfaʿūnakum aw yaḍurrūna "Or do you good or harm?" |
(47:32) | إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَصَدُّوا۟ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّـهِ وَشَآقُّوا۟ ٱلرَّسُولَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلْهُدَىٰ لَن يَضُرُّوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ شَيْـًٔا وَسَيُحْبِطُ أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ | inna lladhīna kafarū wa‑ṣaddū ʿan sabīli allāhi wa‑shāqqū l‑rasūla min baʿdi mā tabayyana lahumu l‑hudā lan yaḍurrū allāha shayʾan wa‑sayuḥbiṭu aʿmālahum | Those who reject Allah, hinder (men) from the Path of Allah, and
resist the Messenger, after Guidance has been clearly shown to them, will not
injure Allah in the least, but He will make their deeds of no effect.
Sura Muḥammad 47:32 إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَصَدُّوا۟ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّـهِ وَشَآقُّوا۟ ٱلرَّسُولَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلْهُدَىٰ لَن يَضُرُّوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ شَيْـًٔا وَسَيُحْبِطُ أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ inna lladhīna kafarū wa-ṣaddū ʿan sabīli allāhi wa-shāqqū l-rasūla min baʿdi mā tabayyana lahumu l-hudā lan yaḍurrū allāha shayʾan wa-sayuḥbiṭu aʿmālahum Those who reject Allah, hinder (men) from the Path of Allah, and resist the Messenger, after Guidance has been clearly shown to them, will not injure Allah in the least, but He will make their deeds of no effect. |
(65:6) | أَسْكِنُوهُنَّ مِنْ حَيْثُ سَكَنتُم مِّن وُجْدِكُمْ وَلَا تُضَآرُّوهُنَّ لِتُضَيِّقُوا۟ عَلَيْهِنَّ وَإِن كُنَّ أُو۟لَٰتِ حَمْلٍ فَأَنفِقُوا۟ عَلَيْهِنَّ حَتَّىٰ يَضَعْنَ حَمْلَهُنَّ فَإِنْ أَرْضَعْنَ لَكُمْ فَـَٔاتُوهُنَّ أُجُورَهُنَّ وَأْتَمِرُوا۟ بَيْنَكُم بِمَعْرُوفٍ وَإِن تَعَاسَرْتُمْ فَسَتُرْضِعُ لَهُۥٓ أُخْرَىٰ | askinūhunna min ḥaythu sakantum min wujdikum wa‑lā tuḍārrūhunna li‑tuḍayyiqū ʿalayhinna wa‑in kunna ūlāti ḥamlin faanfiqū ʿalayhinna ḥattā yaḍaʿna ḥamlahunna fa‑in arḍaʿna la‑kum fa‑ātūhunna ujūrahunna wa‑tamirū baynakum bi‑maʿrūfin wa‑in taʿāsartum fa‑sa‑turḍiʿu lahu ukhrā | Let the women live (in 'iddat) in the same style as ye live,
according to your means: Annoy them not, so as to restrict them. And if
they carry (life in their wombs), then spend (your substance) on them until
they deliver their burden: and if they suckle your (offspring), give them
their recompense: and take mutual counsel together, according to what is
just and reasonable. And if ye find yourselves in difficulties, let another
woman suckle (the child) on the (father's) behalf.
Sura al-Ṭalāq 65:6 أَسْكِنُوهُنَّ مِنْ حَيْثُ سَكَنتُم مِّن وُجْدِكُمْ وَلَا تُضَآرُّوهُنَّ لِتُضَيِّقُوا۟ عَلَيْهِنَّ وَإِن كُنَّ أُو۟لَٰتِ حَمْلٍ فَأَنفِقُوا۟ عَلَيْهِنَّ حَتَّىٰ يَضَعْنَ حَمْلَهُنَّ فَإِنْ أَرْضَعْنَ لَكُمْ فَـَٔاتُوهُنَّ أُجُورَهُنَّ وَأْتَمِرُوا۟ بَيْنَكُم بِمَعْرُوفٍ وَإِن تَعَاسَرْتُمْ فَسَتُرْضِعُ لَهُۥٓ أُخْرَىٰ askinūhunna min ḥaythu sakantum min wujdikum wa-lā tuḍārrūhunna li-tuḍayyiqū ʿalayhinna wa-in kunna ūlāti ḥamlin faanfiqū ʿalayhinna ḥattā yaḍaʿna ḥamlahunna fa-in arḍaʿna la-kum fa-ātūhunna ujūrahunna wa-tamirū baynakum bi-maʿrūfin wa-in taʿāsartum fa-sa-turḍiʿu lahu ukhrā Let the women live (in 'iddat) in the same style as ye live, according to your means: Annoy them not, so as to restrict them.
