Surah 6 al-Anʿām (The Cattle)
RefArabic    TransliterationTranslation
(6:125)

فَمَن  يُرِدِ  ٱللَّـهُ  أَن  يَهْدِيَهُۥ  يَشْرَحْ  صَدْرَهُۥ  لِلْإِسْلَٰمِ  وَمَن  يُرِدْ  أَن  يُضِلَّهُۥ  يَجْعَلْ  صَدْرَهُۥ  ضَيِّقًا  حَرَجًا  كَأَنَّمَا  يَصَّعَّدُ  فِى  ٱلسَّمَآءِ  كَذَٰلِكَ  يَجْعَلُ  ٱللَّـهُ  ٱلرِّجْسَ  عَلَى  ٱلَّذِينَ  لَا  يُؤْمِنُونَ fa‑man yuridi allāhu an yahdiyahu yashraḥ ṣadrahu lil‑islāmi wa‑man yurid an yuḍillahu yajʿal ṣadrahu ḍayyiqan ḥarajan ka‑annamā yaṣṣaʿʿadu l‑samāʾi ka‑dhālika yajʿalu allāhu l‑rijsa ʿalā lladhīna yuʾminūna
Those whom Allah (in His plan) willeth to guide,- He openeth their breast to Islam; those whom He willeth to leave straying,- He maketh their breast close and constricted, as if they had to climb up to the skies: thus doth Allah (heap) the penalty on those who refuse to believe.

Surah 9 al-Tawbah (Repentance)
(9:25)

لَقَدْ  نَصَرَكُمُ  ٱللَّـهُ  فِى  مَوَاطِنَ  كَثِيرَةٍ  وَيَوْمَ  حُنَيْنٍ  إِذْ  أَعْجَبَتْكُمْ  كَثْرَتُكُمْ  فَلَمْ  تُغْنِ  عَنكُمْ  شَيْـًٔا  وَضَاقَتْ  عَلَيْكُمُ  ٱلْأَرْضُ  بِمَا  رَحُبَتْ  ثُمَّ  وَلَّيْتُم  مُّدْبِرِينَ la‑qad naṣarakumu allāhu mawāṭina kathīratin wa‑yawma ḥunaynin idh aʿjabatkum kathratukum falam tughni ʿankum shayʾan wa‑ḍāqat ʿalaykumu l‑arḍu bi‑mā raḥubat thumma wallaytum mudbirīna
Assuredly Allah did help you in many battle-fields and on the day of Hunain: Behold! your great numbers elated you, but they availed you naught: the land, for all that it is wide, did constrain you, and ye turned back in retreat.
(9:118)

وَعَلَى  ٱلثَّلَٰثَةِ  ٱلَّذِينَ  خُلِّفُوا۟  حَتَّىٰٓ  إِذَا  ضَاقَتْ  عَلَيْهِمُ  ٱلْأَرْضُ  بِمَا  رَحُبَتْ  وَضَاقَتْ  عَلَيْهِمْ  أَنفُسُهُمْ  وَظَنُّوٓا۟  أَن  لَّا  مَلْجَأَ  مِنَ  ٱللَّـهِ  إِلَّآ  إِلَيْهِ  ثُمَّ  تَابَ  عَلَيْهِمْ  لِيَتُوبُوٓا۟  إِنَّ  ٱللَّـهَ  هُوَ  ٱلتَّوَّابُ  ٱلرَّحِيمُ wa‑ʿala l‑thalāthati lladhīna khullifū ḥatta idhā ḍāqat ʿalayhimu l‑arḍu bi‑mā raḥubat wa‑ḍāqat ʿalayhim anfusuhum wa‑ẓannū an maljaʾa mina allāhi illā ilayhi thumma tāba ʿalayhim li‑yatūbū inna allāha huwa l‑tawwābu l‑raḥīmu
(He turned in mercy also) to the three who were left behind; (they felt guilty) to such a degree that the earth seemed constrained to them, for all its spaciousness, and their (very) souls seemed straightened to them,- and they perceived that there is no fleeing from Allah (and no refuge) but to Himself. Then He turned to them, that they might repent: for Allah is Oft-Returning, Most Merciful.

Surah 11 Hūd (Hud)
(11:12)

فَلَعَلَّكَ  تَارِكٌۢ  بَعْضَ  مَا  يُوحَىٰٓ  إِلَيْكَ  وَضَآئِقٌۢ  بِهِۦ  صَدْرُكَ  أَن  يَقُولُوا۟  لَوْلَآ  أُنزِلَ  عَلَيْهِ  كَنزٌ  أَوْ  جَآءَ  مَعَهُۥ  مَلَكٌ  إِنَّمَآ  أَنتَ  نَذِيرٌ  وَٱللَّـهُ  عَلَىٰ  كُلِّ  شَىْءٍ  وَكِيلٌ fa‑laʿallaka tārikun baʿḍa yūḥā ilayka wa‑ḍāʾiqun bihi ṣadruka an yaqūlū lawlā unzila ʿalayhi kanzun aw jāa maʿahu malakun innamā anta nadhīrun wallāhu ʿalā kulli shayʾin wakīlun
Perchance thou mayest (feel the inclination) to give up a part of what is revealed unto thee, and thy heart feeleth straightened lest they say, "Why is not a treasure sent down unto him, or why does not an angel come down with him?" But thou art there only to warn! It is Allah that arrangeth all affairs!
(11:77)

وَلَمَّا  جَآءَتْ  رُسُلُنَا  لُوطًا  سِىٓءَ  بِهِمْ  وَضَاقَ  بِهِمْ  ذَرْعًا  وَقَالَ  هَٰذَا  يَوْمٌ  عَصِيبٌ wa‑lammā jāʾat rusulunā lūṭan sīʾa bihim wa‑ḍāqa bihim dharʿan wa‑qāla hādhā yawmun ʿaṣībun

And when they are cast, bound together into a constricted place therein, they will pLead for destruction there and then!

But grieve not over them, nor distress thyself because of their plots.

Let the women live (in 'iddat) in the same style as ye live, according to your means: Annoy them not, so as to restrict them. And if they carry (life in their wombs), then spend (your substance) on them until they deliver their burden: and if they suckle your (offspring), give them their recompense: and take mutual counsel together, according to what is just and reasonable. And if ye find yourselves in difficulties, let another woman suckle (the child) on the (father's) behalf.
