Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:179

مَّا كَانَ ٱللَّـهُ لِيَذَرَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلَىٰ مَآ أَنتُمْ عَلَيْهِ حَتَّىٰ يَمِيزَ ٱلْخَبِيثَ مِنَ ٱلطَّيِّبِ وَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّـهُ لِيُطْلِعَكُمْ عَلَى ٱلْغَيْبِ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ يَجْتَبِى مِن رُّسُلِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ فَـَٔامِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّـهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦ وَإِن تُؤْمِنُوا۟ وَتَتَّقُوا۟ فَلَكُمْ أَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌ

mā kāna allāhu li-yadhara l-muʾminīna ʿalā mā antum ʿalayhi ḥattā yamīza l-khabītha mina l-ṭayyibi wa-mā kāna allāhu li-yuṭliʿakum ʿalā l-ghaybi wa-lākinna allāha yajtabī min rrusulihi man yashāʾu fa-āminū billāhi wa-rusulihi wa-in tūʾminū wa-tattaqū fa-lakum ajrun ʿaẓīmun

Allah will not leave the believers in the state in which ye are now, until He separates what is evil from what is good nor will He disclose to you the secrets of the Unseen. But He chooses of His Messengers (For the purpose) whom He pleases. So believe in Allah. And His messengers: And if ye believe and do right, ye have a reward without measure.

Sura al-Māʾidah 5:13

فَبِمَا نَقْضِهِم مِّيثَٰقَهُمْ لَعَنَّٰهُمْ وَجَعَلْنَا قُلُوبَهُمْ قَٰسِيَةً يُحَرِّفُونَ ٱلْكَلِمَ عَن مَّوَاضِعِهِۦ وَنَسُوا۟ حَظًّا مِّمَّا ذُكِّرُوا۟ بِهِۦ وَلَا تَزَالُ تَطَّلِعُ عَلَىٰ خَآئِنَةٍ مِّنْهُمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا مِّنْهُمْ فَٱعْفُ عَنْهُمْ وَٱصْفَحْ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ

fa-bimā naqḍihim mīthāqahum laʿannāhum wa-jaʿalnā qulūbahum qāsiyatan yuḥarrifūna l-kalima ʿan mawāḍiʿihi wanasū ḥaẓẓan mimmā dhukkirū bihi wa-lā tazālu taṭṭaliʿu ʿalā khāʾinatin minhum illā qalīlan minhum faʿfu ʿanhum wa-iṣfaḥ inna allāha yuḥibbu l-muḥsinīna

But because of their breach of their covenant, We cursed them, and made their hearts grow hard; they change the words from their (right) places and forget a good part of the message that was sent them, nor wilt thou cease to find them- barring a few - ever bent on (new) deceits: but forgive them, and overlook (their misdeeds): for Allah loveth those who are kind.

Sura al-Kahf 18:17

وَتَرَى ٱلشَّمْسَ إِذَا طَلَعَت تَّزَٰوَرُ عَن كَهْفِهِمْ ذَاتَ ٱلْيَمِينِ وَإِذَا غَرَبَت تَّقْرِضُهُمْ ذَاتَ ٱلشِّمَالِ وَهُمْ فِى فَجْوَةٍ مِّنْهُ ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّـهِ مَن يَهْدِ ٱللَّـهُ فَهُوَ ٱلْمُهْتَدِ وَمَن يُضْلِلْ فَلَن تَجِدَ لَهُۥ وَلِيًّا مُّرْشِدًا

wa-tara l-shamsa idhā ṭalaʿat ttazāwaru ʿan kahfihim dhāta l-yamīni wa-idhā gharabat ttaqriḍuhum dhāta l-shimāli wa-hum fī fajwatin minhu dhālika min āyāti allāhi man yahdi allāhu fa-huwa l-muhtadi wa-man yuḍlil fa-lan tajida lahu waliyyan murshidan

Thou wouldst have seen the sun, when it rose, declining to the right from their Cave, and when it set, turning away from them to the left, while they lay in the open space in the midst of the Cave. Such are among the Signs of Allah: He whom Allah, guides is rightly guided; but he whom Allah leaves to stray,- for him wilt thou find no protector to lead him to the Right Way.

Sura al-Kahf 18:18

وَتَحْسَبُهُمْ أَيْقَاظًا وَهُمْ رُقُودٌ وَنُقَلِّبُهُمْ ذَاتَ ٱلْيَمِينِ وَذَاتَ ٱلشِّمَالِ وَكَلْبُهُم بَٰسِطٌ ذِرَاعَيْهِ بِٱلْوَصِيدِ لَوِ ٱطَّلَعْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ لَوَلَّيْتَ مِنْهُمْ فِرَارًا وَلَمُلِئْتَ مِنْهُمْ رُعْبًا

wa-taḥsabuhum ayqāẓan wa-hum ruqūdun wa-nuqallibuhum dhāta l-yamīni wa-dhāta l-shimāli wa-kalbuhum bāsiṭun dhirāʿayhi bil-waṣīdi lawi iṭṭalaʿta ʿalayhim la-wallayta minhum firāran wa-la-muliʾta minhum ruʿban

Thou wouldst have deemed them awake, whilst they were asleep, and We turned them on their right and on their left sides: their dog stretching forth his two fore-legs on the threshold: if thou hadst come up on to them, thou wouldst have certainly turned back from them in flight, and wouldst certainly have been filled with terror of them.

Sura al-Kahf 18:90

حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا بَلَغَ مَطْلِعَ ٱلشَّمْسِ وَجَدَهَا تَطْلُعُ عَلَىٰ قَوْمٍ لَّمْ نَجْعَل لَّهُم مِّن دُونِهَا سِتْرًا

ḥatta idhā balagha maṭliʿa l-shamsi wajadahā taṭluʿu ʿalā qawmin lam najʿal lahum min dūnihā sitran

Until, when he came to the rising of the sun, he found it rising on a people for whom We had provided no covering protection against the sun.

Sura Maryam 19:78

أَطَّلَعَ ٱلْغَيْبَ أَمِ ٱتَّخَذَ عِندَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ عَهْدًا

aṭṭalaʿa l-ghayba ami ittakhadha ʿinda l-raḥmāni ʿahdan

Has he penetrated to the Unseen, or has he taken a contract with (Allah) Most Gracious?

Sura al-Qaṣaṣ 28:38

وَقَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْمَلَأُ مَا عَلِمْتُ لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرِى فَأَوْقِدْ لِى يَٰهَٰمَٰنُ عَلَى ٱلطِّينِ فَٱجْعَل لِّى صَرْحًا لَّعَلِّىٓ أَطَّلِعُ إِلَىٰٓ إِلَٰهِ مُوسَىٰ وَإِنِّى لَأَظُنُّهُۥ مِنَ ٱلْكَٰذِبِينَ

wa-qāla firʿawun yā-ayyuhā l-malaʾu mā ʿalimtu la-kum min ilāhin ghayrī fa-awqid lī yā-hāmānu ʿalā l-ṭīni fa-ajʿal lī ṣarḥan laʿallī aṭṭaliʿu ila ilāhi mūsā wa-innī la-aẓunnuhu mina l-kādhibīna

Pharaoh said: "O Chiefs! no god do I know for you but myself: therefore, O Haman! light me a (kiln to bake bricks) out of clay, and build me a lofty palace, that I may mount up to the god of Moses: but as far as I am concerned, I think (Moses) is a liar!"

Sura al-Ṣaffāt 37:55

فَٱطَّلَعَ فَرَءَاهُ فِى سَوَآءِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ

fa-iṭṭalaʿa fa-raāhu fī sawāʾi l-jaḥīmi

He looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire.

Sura al-Ghāfir 40:37

أَسْبَٰبَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ فَأَطَّلِعَ إِلَىٰٓ إِلَٰهِ مُوسَىٰ وَإِنِّى لَأَظُنُّهُۥ كَٰذِبًا وَكَذَٰلِكَ زُيِّنَ لِفِرْعَوْنَ سُوٓءُ عَمَلِهِۦ وَصُدَّ عَنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَمَا كَيْدُ فِرْعَوْنَ إِلَّا فِى تَبَابٍ

asbāba l-samāwāti fa-aṭṭaliʿa ila ilāhi mūsā wa-innī la-aẓunnuhu kādhiban wa-ka-dhālika zuyyina li-firʿawna sūu ʿamalihi wa-ṣudda ʿani l-sabīli wa-mā kaydu firʿawna illā fī tabābin

"The ways and means of (reaching) the heavens, and that I may mount up to the god of Moses: But as far as I am concerned, I think (Moses) is a liar!" Thus was made alluring, in Pharaoh's eyes, the evil of his deeds, and he was hindered from the Path; and the plot of Pharaoh led to nothing but perdition (for him).

Sura al-Humazah 104:7

ٱلَّتِى تَطَّلِعُ عَلَى ٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةِ

allatī taṭṭaliʿu ʿalā l-afʾidati

The which doth mount (Right) to the Hearts:
