(2:158) | إِنَّ ٱلصَّفَا وَٱلْمَرْوَةَ مِن شَعَآئِرِ ٱللَّـهِ فَمَنْ حَجَّ ٱلْبَيْتَ أَوِ ٱعْتَمَرَ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْهِ أَن يَطَّوَّفَ بِهِمَا وَمَن تَطَوَّعَ خَيْرًا فَإِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ شَاكِرٌ عَلِيمٌ | inna l‑ṣafā wa‑l‑marwata min shaʿāʾiri allāhi fa‑man ḥajja l‑bayta awi ʿtamara fa‑lā junāḥa ʿalayhi an yaṭṭawwafa bihimā wa‑man taṭawwaʿa khayran fa‑inna allāha shākirun ʿalīmun | Behold! Safa and Marwa are among the Symbols of Allah. So if
those who visit the House in the Season or at other times, should compass
them round, it is no sin in them. And if any one obeyeth his own impulse to
good,- be sure that Allah is He Who recogniseth and knoweth.

(2:184) | أَيَّامًا مَّعْدُودَٰتٍ فَمَن كَانَ مِنكُم مَّرِيضًا أَوْ عَلَىٰ سَفَرٍ فَعِدَّةٌ مِّنْ أَيَّامٍ أُخَرَ وَعَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ يُطِيقُونَهُۥ فِدْيَةٌ طَعَامُ مِسْكِينٍ فَمَن تَطَوَّعَ خَيْرًا فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّهُۥ وَأَن تَصُومُوا۟ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ | ayyāman maʿdūdātin fa‑man kāna minkum marīḍan aw ʿalā safarin faʿiddatun min ayyāmin ukhara wa‑ʿalā lladhīna yuṭīqūnahu fidyatun ṭaʿāmu miskīnin fa‑man taṭawwaʿa khayran fa‑huwa khayrun lahu wa‑an taṣūmū khayrun la‑kum in kuntum taʿlamūna | (Fasting) for a fixed number of days; but if any of you is
ill, or on a journey, the prescribed number (Should be made up) from days
later. For those who can do it (With hardship), is a ransom, the feeding of
one that is indigent. But he that will give more, of his own free will,- it
is better for him. And it is better for you that ye fast, if ye only knew.
Sura al-Baqara 2:184 أَيَّامًا مَّعْدُودَٰتٍ فَمَن كَانَ مِنكُم مَّرِيضًا أَوْ عَلَىٰ سَفَرٍ فَعِدَّةٌ مِّنْ أَيَّامٍ أُخَرَ وَعَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ يُطِيقُونَهُۥ فِدْيَةٌ طَعَامُ مِسْكِينٍ فَمَن تَطَوَّعَ خَيْرًا فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّهُۥ وَأَن تَصُومُوا۟ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ ayyāman maʿdūdātin fa-man kāna minkum marīḍan aw ʿalā safarin faʿiddatun min ayyāmin ukhara wa-ʿalā lladhīna yuṭīqūnahu fidyatun ṭaʿāmu miskīnin fa-man taṭawwaʿa khayran fa-huwa khayrun lahu wa-an taṣūmū khayrun la-kum in kuntum taʿlamūna (Fasting) for a fixed number of days; but if any of you is ill, or on a journey, the prescribed number (Should be made up) from days later. (2:282) | يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِذَا تَدَايَنتُم بِدَيْنٍ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى فَٱكْتُبُوهُ وَلْيَكْتُب بَّيْنَكُمْ كَاتِبٌۢ بِٱلْعَدْلِ وَلَا يَأْبَ كَاتِبٌ أَن يَكْتُبَ كَمَا عَلَّمَهُ ٱللَّـهُ فَلْيَكْتُبْ وَلْيُمْلِلِ ٱلَّذِى عَلَيْهِ ٱلْحَقُّ وَلْيَتَّقِ ٱللَّـهَ رَبَّهُۥ وَلَا يَبْخَسْ مِنْهُ شَيْـًٔا فَإِن كَانَ ٱلَّذِى عَلَيْهِ ٱلْحَقُّ سَفِيهًا أَوْ ضَعِيفًا أَوْ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ أَن يُمِلَّ هُوَ فَلْيُمْلِلْ وَلِيُّهُۥ بِٱلْعَدْلِ وَٱسْتَشْهِدُوا۟ شَهِيدَيْنِ مِن رِّجَالِكُمْ فَإِن لَّمْ يَكُونَا رَجُلَيْنِ فَرَجُلٌ وَٱمْرَأَتَانِ مِمَّن تَرْضَوْنَ مِنَ ٱلشُّهَدَآءِ أَن تَضِلَّ إِحْدَىٰهُمَا فَتُذَكِّرَ إِحْدَىٰهُمَا ٱلْأُخْرَىٰ وَلَا يَأْبَ ٱلشُّهَدَآءُ إِذَا مَا دُعُوا۟ وَلَا تَسْـَٔمُوٓا۟ أَن تَكْتُبُوهُ صَغِيرًا أَوْ كَبِيرًا إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلِهِۦ ذَٰلِكُمْ أَقْسَطُ عِندَ ٱللَّـهِ وَأَقْوَمُ لِلشَّهَٰدَةِ وَأَدْنَىٰٓ أَلَّا تَرْتَابُوٓا۟ إِلَّآ أَن تَكُونَ تِجَٰرَةً حَاضِرَةً تُدِيرُونَهَا بَيْنَكُمْ فَلَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌ أَلَّا تَكْتُبُوهَا وَأَشْهِدُوٓا۟ إِذَا تَبَايَعْتُمْ وَلَا يُضَآرَّ كَاتِبٌ وَلَا شَهِيدٌ وَإِن تَفْعَلُوا۟ فَإِنَّهُۥ فُسُوقٌۢ بِكُمْ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ وَيُعَلِّمُكُمُ ٱللَّـهُ وَٱللَّـهُ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمٌ | yā‑ayyuhā lladhīna āmanū idhā tadāyantum bi‑daynin ila ajalin musamman fa‑uktubūhu wa‑l‑yaktub baynakum kātibun bil‑ʿadli wa‑lā yaʾba kātibun an yaktuba ka‑mā ʿallamahu allāhu fa‑l‑yaktub wa‑l‑yumlili alladhī ʿalayhi l‑ḥaqqu wa‑l‑yattaqi allāha rabbahu wa‑lā yabkhas minhu shayʾan fa‑in kāna alladhī ʿalayhi l‑ḥaqqu safīhan aw ḍaʿīfan aw lā yastaṭīʿu an yumilla huwa fa‑lyumlil walīyuhu bil‑ʿadli wa‑istashhidū shahīdayni min rijālikum fa‑in lam yakūnā rajulayni fa‑rajulun wa‑amraʾatāni mimman tarḍawna mina l‑shuhadāʾi an taḍilla iḥdāhumā fa‑tudhakkira iḥdāhumā l‑ukhrā wa‑lā yaʾba l‑suhadāʾu idhā mā duʿū wa‑lā tasʾamū an taktubūhu ṣaghīran aw kabīran ila ajalihi dhālikum aqsaṭu ʿinda allāhi wa‑aqwamu lil‑shahādati wa‑adna allā tartābū illā an takūna tijāratan ḥāḍiratan tudīrūnahā baynakum fa‑laysa ʿalaykum junāḥun allā taktubūhā wa‑ashhidū idhā tabāyaʿtum wa‑lā yuḍārra kātibun wa‑lā shahīdun wa‑in tafʿalū fa‑innahu fusūqun bikum wa‑ittaqū allāha wayuʿallimukumu allāhu wallāhu bi‑kulli shayʾin ʿalīmun | O ye who believe! When ye deal with each other, in transactions involving future obligations in a fixed period of time, reduce them to writing Let a scribe write down faithfully as between the parties: let not the scribe refuse to write: as Allah Has taught him, so let him write. Let him who incurs the liability dictate, but let him fear His Lord Allah, and not diminish aught of what he owes. If the party liable is mentally deficient, or weak, or unable Himself to dictate, Let his guardian dictate faithfully, and get two witnesses, out of your own men, and if there are not two men, then a man and two women, such as ye choose, for witnesses, so that if one of them errs, the other can remind her. The witnesses should not refuse when they are called on (For evidence). Disdain not to reduce to writing (your contract) for a future period, whether it be small or big: it is juster in the sight of Allah, More suitable as evidence, and more convenient to prevent doubts among yourselves but if it be a transaction which ye carry out on the spot among yourselves, there is no blame on you if ye reduce it not to writing. But take witness whenever ye make a commercial contract; and let neither scribe nor witness suffer harm. If ye do (such harm), it would be wickedness in you. So fear Allah; For it is Allah that teaches you. And Allah is well acquainted with all things.

(3:97) | فِيهِ ءَايَٰتٌۢ بَيِّنَٰتٌ مَّقَامُ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَمَن دَخَلَهُۥ كَانَ ءَامِنًا وَلِلَّەِ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ حِجُّ ٱلْبَيْتِ مَنِ ٱسْتَطَاعَ إِلَيْهِ سَبِيلًا وَمَن كَفَرَ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ غَنِىٌّ عَنِ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ | fīhi āyātun bayyinātun maqāmu ibrāhīma wa‑man dakhalahu kāna āminan wa‑lillahi ʿalā l‑nāsi ḥijju l‑bayti mani staṭāʿa ilayhi sabīlan wa‑man kafara fa‑inna allāha ghaniyyun ʿani l‑ʿālamīna | In it are Signs Manifest; (for example), the Station of
Abraham; whoever enters it attains security; Pilgrimage thereto is a duty
men owe to Allah,- those who can afford the journey; but if any deny faith,
Allah stands not in need of any of His creatures.
Sura Āl-ʿImrān 3:97 فِيهِ ءَايَٰتٌۢ بَيِّنَٰتٌ مَّقَامُ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَمَن دَخَلَهُۥ كَانَ ءَامِنًا وَلِلَّەِ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ حِجُّ ٱلْبَيْتِ مَنِ ٱسْتَطَاعَ إِلَيْهِ سَبِيلًا وَمَن كَفَرَ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ غَنِىٌّ عَنِ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ fīhi āyātun bayyinātun maqāmu ibrāhīma wa-man dakhalahu kāna āminan wa-lillahi ʿalā l-nāsi ḥijju l-bayti mani staṭāʿa ilayhi sabīlan wa-man kafara fa-inna allāha ghaniyyun ʿani l-ʿālamīna In it are Signs Manifest; (for example), the Station of Abraham; whoever enters it attains security; Pilgrimage thereto is a duty men owe to Allah,- those who can afford the journey; but if any deny faith, Allah stands not in need of any of His creatures. |
(4:13) | تِلْكَ حُدُودُ ٱللَّـهِ وَمَن يُطِعِ ٱللَّـهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ يُدْخِلْهُ جَنَّٰتٍ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا وَذَٰلِكَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ | tilka ḥudūdu allāhi wa‑man yuṭiʿi allāha wa‑rasūlahu yudkhilhu jannātin tajrī min taḥtihā l‑anhāru khālidīna fīhā wa‑dhālika l‑fawzu l‑ʿaẓīmu | Those are limits set by Allah: those who obey Allah and His
Messenger will be admitted to Gardens with rivers flowing beneath, to abide
therein (for ever) and that will be the supreme achievement.
Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:13 تِلْكَ حُدُودُ ٱللَّـهِ وَمَن يُطِعِ ٱللَّـهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ يُدْخِلْهُ جَنَّٰتٍ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا وَذَٰلِكَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ tilka ḥudūdu allāhi wa-man yuṭiʿi allāha wa-rasūlahu yudkhilhu jannātin tajrī min taḥtihā l-anhāru khālidīna fīhā wa-dhālika l-fawzu l-ʿaẓīmu Those are limits set by Allah: those who obey Allah and His Messenger will be admitted to Gardens with rivers flowing beneath, to abide therein (for ever) and that will be the supreme achievement. |
(4:25) | وَمَن لَّمْ يَسْتَطِعْ مِنكُمْ طَوْلًا أَن يَنكِحَ ٱلْمُحْصَنَٰتِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ فَمِن مَّا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَٰنُكُم مِّن فَتَيَٰتِكُمُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ وَٱللَّـهُ أَعْلَمُ بِإِيمَٰنِكُم بَعْضُكُم مِّنۢ بَعْضٍ فَٱنكِحُوهُنَّ بِإِذْنِ أَهْلِهِنَّ وَءَاتُوهُنَّ أُجُورَهُنَّ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ مُحْصَنَٰتٍ غَيْرَ مُسَٰفِحَٰتٍ وَلَا مُتَّخِذَٰتِ أَخْدَانٍ فَإِذَآ أُحْصِنَّ فَإِنْ أَتَيْنَ بِفَٰحِشَةٍ فَعَلَيْهِنَّ نِصْفُ مَا عَلَى ٱلْمُحْصَنَٰتِ مِنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ ذَٰلِكَ لِمَنْ خَشِىَ ٱلْعَنَتَ مِنكُمْ وَأَن تَصْبِرُوا۟ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ وَٱللَّـهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ | wa‑man lam yastaṭiʿ minkum ṭawlan an yankiḥa l‑muḥṣanāti l‑muʾmināti famin mā malakat aymānukum min fa‑tayātikumu l‑muʾmināti wallāhu aʿlamu biīmānikum baʿḍukum min baʿḍin fa‑inkiḥūhunna bi‑idhni ahlihinna wa‑ātūhunna ujūrahunna bil‑maʿrūfi muḥṣanātin ghayra musāfiḥātin wa‑lā muttakhidhāti akhdānin fa‑idhā uḥṣinna fa‑in atayna bi‑fāḥishatin faʿalayhinna niṣfu mā ʿalā l‑muḥṣanāti mina l‑ʿadhābi dhālika liman khashiya l‑ʿanata minkum wa‑an taṣbirū khayrun la‑kum wallāhu ghafūrun raḥīmun | If any of you have not the means wherewith to wed free
believing women, they may wed believing girls from among those whom your
right hands possess: And Allah hath full knowledge about your faith. Ye are
one from another: Wed them with the leave of their owners, and give them
their dowers, according to what is reasonable: They should be chaste, not
lustful, nor taking paramours: when they are taken in wedlock, if they fall
into shame, their punishment is half that for free women. This (permission)
is for those among you who fear sin; but it is better for you that ye
practise self-restraint. And Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.
Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:25 وَمَن لَّمْ يَسْتَطِعْ مِنكُمْ طَوْلًا أَن يَنكِحَ ٱلْمُحْصَنَٰتِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ فَمِن مَّا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَٰنُكُم مِّن فَتَيَٰتِكُمُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ وَٱللَّـهُ أَعْلَمُ بِإِيمَٰنِكُم بَعْضُكُم مِّنۢ بَعْضٍ فَٱنكِحُوهُنَّ بِإِذْنِ أَهْلِهِنَّ وَءَاتُوهُنَّ أُجُورَهُنَّ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ مُحْصَنَٰتٍ غَيْرَ مُسَٰفِحَٰتٍ وَلَا مُتَّخِذَٰتِ أَخْدَانٍ فَإِذَآ أُحْصِنَّ فَإِنْ أَتَيْنَ بِفَٰحِشَةٍ فَعَلَيْهِنَّ نِصْفُ مَا عَلَى ٱلْمُحْصَنَٰتِ مِنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ ذَٰلِكَ لِمَنْ خَشِىَ ٱلْعَنَتَ مِنكُمْ وَأَن تَصْبِرُوا۟ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ وَٱللَّـهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ wa-man lam yastaṭiʿ minkum ṭawlan an yankiḥa l-muḥṣanāti l-muʾmināti famin mā malakat aymānukum min fa-tayātikumu l-muʾmināti wallāhu aʿlamu biīmānikum baʿḍukum min baʿḍin fa-inkiḥūhunna bi-idhni ahlihinna wa-ātūhunna ujūrahunna bil-maʿrūfi muḥṣanātin ghayra musāfiḥātin wa-lā muttakhidhāti akhdānin fa-idhā uḥṣinna fa-in atayna bi-fāḥishatin faʿalayhinna niṣfu mā ʿalā l-muḥṣanāti mina l-ʿadhābi dhālika liman khashiya l-ʿanata minkum wa-an taṣbirū khayrun la-kum wallāhu ghafūrun raḥīmun If any of you have not the means wherewith to wed free believing women, they may wed believing girls from among those whom your right hands possess: And Allah hath full knowledge about your faith. Ye are one from another: Wed them with the leave of their owners, and give them their dowers, according to what is reasonable: They should be chaste, not lustful, nor taking paramours: when they are taken in wedlock, if they fall into shame, their punishment is half that for free women. This (permission) is for those among you who fear sin; but it is better for you that ye practise self-restraint. And Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. |
(4:64) | وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا لِيُطَاعَ بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّـهِ وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ إِذ ظَّلَمُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ جَآءُوكَ فَٱسْتَغْفَرُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ وَٱسْتَغْفَرَ لَهُمُ ٱلرَّسُولُ لَوَجَدُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ تَوَّابًا رَّحِيمًا | wa‑mā arsalnā min rrasūlin illā li‑yuṭāʿa bi‑idhni allāhi wa‑law annahum idh ẓalamū anfusahum jāʾūka fa‑astaghfarū allāha wa‑astaghfara lahumu l‑rasūlu la‑wajadū allāha tawwāban raḥīman | We sent not a messenger, but to be obeyed, in accordance with
the will of Allah. If they had only, when they were unjust to themselves,
come unto thee and asked Allah's forgiveness, and the Messenger had asked
forgiveness for them, they would have found Allah indeed Oft-returning, Most
Merciful.
Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:64 وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا لِيُطَاعَ بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّـهِ وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ إِذ ظَّلَمُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ جَآءُوكَ فَٱسْتَغْفَرُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ وَٱسْتَغْفَرَ لَهُمُ ٱلرَّسُولُ لَوَجَدُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ تَوَّابًا رَّحِيمًا wa-mā arsalnā min rrasūlin illā li-yuṭāʿa bi-idhni allāhi wa-law annahum idh ẓalamū anfusahum jāʾūka fa-astaghfarū allāha wa-astaghfara lahumu l-rasūlu la-wajadū allāha tawwāban raḥīman We sent not a messenger, but to be obeyed, in accordance with the will of Allah. If they had only, when they were unjust to themselves, come unto thee and asked Allah's forgiveness, and the Messenger had asked forgiveness for them, they would have found Allah indeed Oft-returning, Most Merciful. |
(4:69) | وَمَن يُطِعِ ٱللَّـهَ وَٱلرَّسُولَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ مَعَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنْعَمَ ٱللَّـهُ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ ٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ وَٱلصِّدِّيقِينَ وَٱلشُّهَدَآءِ وَٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ وَحَسُنَ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ رَفِيقًا | wa‑man yuṭiʿi allāha wa‑l‑rasūla fa‑ūlāʾika maʿa lladhīna anʿama allāhu ʿalayhim mina l‑nabiyyina wa‑l‑ṣiddīqīna wa‑l‑shuhadāʾi wa‑l‑ṣāliḥīna waḥasuna ulāʾika rafīqan | All who obey Allah and the messenger are in the company of those
on whom is the Grace of Allah,- of the prophets (who teach), the sincere
(lovers of Truth), the witnesses (who testify), and the Righteous (who do
good): Ah! what a beautiful fellowship!
Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:69 وَمَن يُطِعِ ٱللَّـهَ وَٱلرَّسُولَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ مَعَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنْعَمَ ٱللَّـهُ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ ٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ وَٱلصِّدِّيقِينَ وَٱلشُّهَدَآءِ وَٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ وَحَسُنَ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ رَفِيقًا wa-man yuṭiʿi allāha wa-l-rasūla fa-ūlāʾika maʿa lladhīna anʿama allāhu ʿalayhim mina l-nabiyyina wa-l-ṣiddīqīna wa-l-shuhadāʾi wa-l-ṣāliḥīna waḥasuna ulāʾika rafīqan All who obey Allah and the messenger are in the company of those on whom is the Grace of Allah,- of the prophets (who teach), the sincere (lovers of Truth), the witnesses (who testify), and the Righteous (who do good): Ah! what a beautiful fellowship! |
(4:80) | مَّن يُطِعِ ٱلرَّسُولَ فَقَدْ أَطَاعَ ٱللَّـهَ وَمَن تَوَلَّىٰ فَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَٰكَ عَلَيْهِمْ حَفِيظًا | man yuṭiʿi l‑rasūla fa‑qad aṭāʿa allāha wa‑man tawalla fa‑mā arsalnāka ʿalayhim ḥafīẓan | He who obeys the Messenger, obeys Allah: But if any turn away, We
have not sent thee to watch over their (evil deeds).
Sura al-Nisāʾ 4:80 مَّن يُطِعِ ٱلرَّسُولَ فَقَدْ أَطَاعَ ٱللَّـهَ وَمَن تَوَلَّىٰ فَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَٰكَ عَلَيْهِمْ حَفِيظًا man yuṭiʿi l-rasūla fa-qad aṭāʿa allāha wa-man tawalla fa-mā arsalnāka ʿalayhim ḥafīẓan He who obeys the Messenger, obeys Allah: But if any turn away, We have not sent thee to watch over their (evil deeds). |
(5:30) | فَطَوَّعَتْ لَهُۥ نَفْسُهُۥ قَتْلَ أَخِيهِ فَقَتَلَهُۥ فَأَصْبَحَ مِنَ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ | faṭawwaʿat lahu nafsuhu qatla akhīhi faqatalahu fa‑aṣbaḥa mina l‑khāsirīna | The (selfish) soul of the other led him to the murder of his
brother: he murdered him, and became (himself) one of the lost ones.
Sura al-Māʾidah 5:30 فَطَوَّعَتْ لَهُۥ نَفْسُهُۥ قَتْلَ أَخِيهِ فَقَتَلَهُۥ فَأَصْبَحَ مِنَ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ faṭawwaʿat lahu nafsuhu qatla akhīhi faqatalahu fa-aṣbaḥa mina l-khāsirīna The (selfish) soul of the other led him to the murder of his brother: he murdered him, and became (himself) one of the lost ones. |
(5:112) | إِذْ قَالَ ٱلْحَوَارِيُّونَ يَٰعِيسَى ٱبْنَ مَرْيَمَ هَلْ يَسْتَطِيعُ رَبُّكَ أَن يُنَزِّلَ عَلَيْنَا مَآئِدَةً مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ قَالَ ٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ | idh qalā l‑ḥawāriyyūna yā‑ʿīsā ibna maryama hal yastaṭīʿu rabbuka an yunazzila ʿalaynā māʾidatan mina l‑samāʾi qalā ittaqū allāha in kuntum muʾminīna | Behold! the disciples, said: "O Jesus the son of Mary! can thy
Lord send down to us a table set (with viands) from heaven?" Said Jesus:
"Fear Allah, if ye have faith."
Sura al-Māʾidah 5:112 إِذْ قَالَ ٱلْحَوَارِيُّونَ يَٰعِيسَى ٱبْنَ مَرْيَمَ هَلْ يَسْتَطِيعُ رَبُّكَ أَن يُنَزِّلَ عَلَيْنَا مَآئِدَةً مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ قَالَ ٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّـهَ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ idh qalā l-ḥawāriyyūna yā-ʿīsā ibna maryama hal yastaṭīʿu rabbuka an yunazzila ʿalaynā māʾidatan mina l-samāʾi qalā ittaqū allāha in kuntum muʾminīna Behold! the disciples, said: "O Jesus the son of Mary! can thy Lord send down to us a table set (with viands) from heaven?" Said Jesus: "Fear Allah, if ye have faith." |
(6:35) | وَإِن كَانَ كَبُرَ عَلَيْكَ إِعْرَاضُهُمْ فَإِنِ ٱسْتَطَعْتَ أَن تَبْتَغِىَ نَفَقًا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أَوْ سُلَّمًا فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَتَأْتِيَهُم بِـَٔايَةٍ وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّـهُ لَجَمَعَهُمْ عَلَى ٱلْهُدَىٰ فَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْجَٰهِلِينَ | wa‑in kāna kabura ʿalayka iʿrāḍuhum fa‑ini istaṭaʿta an tabtaghiya nafaqan fī l‑arḍi aw sullaman fī l‑samāʾi fa‑taʾtiyahum bi‑āyatin wa‑law shāʾa allāhu lajamaʿahum ʿalā l‑hudā fa‑lā takūnanna mina l‑jāhilīna | If their spurning is hard on thy mind, yet if thou wert able
to seek a tunnel in the ground or a ladder to the skies and bring them a
sign,- (what good?). If it were Allah's will, He could gather them together
unto true guidance: so be not thou amongst those who are swayed by
ignorance (and impatience)!
Sura al-Anʿām 6:35 وَإِن كَانَ كَبُرَ عَلَيْكَ إِعْرَاضُهُمْ فَإِنِ ٱسْتَطَعْتَ أَن تَبْتَغِىَ نَفَقًا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أَوْ سُلَّمًا فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَتَأْتِيَهُم بِـَٔايَةٍ وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّـهُ لَجَمَعَهُمْ عَلَى ٱلْهُدَىٰ فَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْجَٰهِلِينَ wa-in kāna kabura ʿalayka iʿrāḍuhum fa-ini istaṭaʿta an tabtaghiya nafaqan fī l-arḍi aw sullaman fī l-samāʾi fa-taʾtiyahum bi-āyatin wa-law shāʾa allāhu lajamaʿahum ʿalā l-hudā fa-lā takūnanna mina l-jāhilīna If their spurning is hard on thy mind, yet if thou wert able to seek a tunnel in the ground or a ladder to the skies and bring them a sign,- (what good?). If it were Allah's will, He could gather them together unto true guidance: so be not thou amongst those who are swayed by ignorance (and impatience)! |

will lead thee away from the way of Allah. They follow nothing but
conjecture: they do nothing but lie.
Sura al-Anʿām 6:116 وَإِن تُطِعْ أَكْثَرَ مَن فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ يُضِلُّوكَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّـهِ إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ وَإِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا يَخْرُصُونَ wa-in tuṭiʿ akthara man fī l-arḍi yuḍillūka ʿan sabīli allāhi in yattabiʿūna illā l-ẓanna wa-in hum illā yakhruṣūna Wert thou to follow the common run of those on earth, they will lead thee away from the way of Allah. They follow nothing but conjecture: they do nothing but lie. |
(11:88) | قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ أَرَءَيْتُمْ إِن كُنتُ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّى وَرَزَقَنِى مِنْهُ رِزْقًا حَسَنًا وَمَآ أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُخَالِفَكُمْ إِلَىٰ مَآ أَنْهَىٰكُمْ عَنْهُ إِنْ أُرِيدُ إِلَّا ٱلْإِصْلَٰحَ مَا ٱسْتَطَعْتُ وَمَا تَوْفِيقِىٓ إِلَّا بِٱللَّـهِ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَإِلَيْهِ أُنِيبُ | qalā yā‑qawmi a‑raʾaytum in kuntu ʿalā bayyinatin min rrabbī wa‑razaqanī minhu rizqan ḥasanan wa‑mā urīdu an ukhālifakum ilā mā anhakum ʿanhu in urīdu illā l‑iṣlāḥa mā istaṭaʿtu wa‑mā tawfīqī illā billāhi ʿalayhi tawakkaltu wa‑ilayhi unību | He said: "O my people! see ye whether I have a Clear (Sign)
from my Lord, and He hath given me sustenance (pure and) good as from
Himself? I wish not, in opposition to you, to do that which I forbid you to
do. I only desire (your) betterment to the best of my power; and my success
(in my task) can only come from Allah. In Him I trust, and unto Him I look.
Sura Hūd 11:88 قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ أَرَءَيْتُمْ إِن كُنتُ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّى وَرَزَقَنِى مِنْهُ رِزْقًا حَسَنًا وَمَآ أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُخَالِفَكُمْ إِلَىٰ مَآ أَنْهَىٰكُمْ عَنْهُ إِنْ أُرِيدُ إِلَّا ٱلْإِصْلَٰحَ مَا ٱسْتَطَعْتُ وَمَا تَوْفِيقِىٓ إِلَّا بِٱللَّـهِ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَإِلَيْهِ أُنِيبُ qalā yā-qawmi a-raʾaytum in kuntu ʿalā bayyinatin min rrabbī wa-razaqanī minhu rizqan ḥasanan wa-mā urīdu an ukhālifakum ilā mā anhakum ʿanhu in urīdu illā l-iṣlāḥa mā istaṭaʿtu wa-mā tawfīqī illā billāhi ʿalayhi tawakkaltu wa-ilayhi unību He said: "O my people! see ye whether I have a Clear (Sign) from my Lord, and He hath given me sustenance (pure and) good as from Himself? (17:64) | وَٱسْتَفْزِزْ مَنِ ٱسْتَطَعْتَ مِنْهُم بِصَوْتِكَ وَأَجْلِبْ عَلَيْهِم بِخَيْلِكَ وَرَجِلِكَ وَشَارِكْهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَمْوَٰلِ وَٱلْأَوْلَٰدِ وَعِدْهُمْ وَمَا يَعِدُهُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ إِلَّا غُرُورًا | wa‑istafziz mani istaṭaʿta minhum bi‑ṣawtika wa‑ajlib ʿalayhim bi‑khaylika wa‑rajilika wa‑shārikhum fī l‑amwāli wa‑l‑awlādi wa‑ʿidhum wa‑mā yaʿiduhumu l‑shayṭānu illā ghurūran | "Lead to destruction those whom thou canst among them, with
thy (seductive) voice; make assaults on them with thy cavalry and thy
infantry; mutually share with them wealth and children; and make promises
to them." But Satan promises them nothing but deceit.
Sura al-Isrāʾ 17:64 وَٱسْتَفْزِزْ مَنِ ٱسْتَطَعْتَ مِنْهُم بِصَوْتِكَ وَأَجْلِبْ عَلَيْهِم بِخَيْلِكَ وَرَجِلِكَ وَشَارِكْهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَمْوَٰلِ وَٱلْأَوْلَٰدِ وَعِدْهُمْ وَمَا يَعِدُهُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ إِلَّا غُرُورًا wa-istafziz mani istaṭaʿta minhum bi-ṣawtika wa-ajlib ʿalayhim bi-khaylika wa-rajilika wa-shārikhum fī l-amwāli wa-l-awlādi wa-ʿidhum wa-mā yaʿiduhumu l-shayṭānu illā ghurūran "Lead to destruction those whom thou canst among them, with thy (seductive) voice; make assaults on them with thy cavalry and thy infantry; mutually share with them wealth and children; and make promises to them." But Satan promises them nothing but deceit. |
(18:28) | وَٱصْبِرْ نَفْسَكَ مَعَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ رَبَّهُم بِٱلْغَدَوٰةِ وَٱلْعَشِىِّ يُرِيدُونَ وَجْهَهُۥ وَلَا تَعْدُ عَيْنَاكَ عَنْهُمْ تُرِيدُ زِينَةَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَلَا تُطِعْ مَنْ أَغْفَلْنَا قَلْبَهُۥ عَن ذِكْرِنَا وَٱتَّبَعَ هَوَىٰهُ وَكَانَ أَمْرُهُۥ فُرُطًا | wa‑iṣbir nafsaka maʿa lladhīna yadʿūna rabbahum bil‑ghadāti wa‑l‑ʿashiyyi yurīdūna wajhahu wa‑lā taʿdu ʿaynāka ʿanhum turīdu zīnata l‑ḥayāti l‑dunyā wa‑lā tuṭiʿ man aghfalnā qalbahu ʿan dhikrinā wa‑ittabaʿa hawahu wa‑kāna amruhu furuṭan | And keep thy soul content with those who call on their Lord
morning and evening, seeking His Face; and let not thine eyes pass beyond
them, seeking the pomp and glitter of this Life; no obey any whose heart We
have permitted to neglect the remembrance of Us, one who follows his own
desires, whose case has gone beyond all bounds.
Sura al-Kahf 18:28 وَٱصْبِرْ نَفْسَكَ مَعَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ رَبَّهُم بِٱلْغَدَوٰةِ وَٱلْعَشِىِّ يُرِيدُونَ وَجْهَهُۥ وَلَا تَعْدُ عَيْنَاكَ عَنْهُمْ تُرِيدُ زِينَةَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَلَا تُطِعْ مَنْ أَغْفَلْنَا قَلْبَهُۥ عَن ذِكْرِنَا وَٱتَّبَعَ هَوَىٰهُ وَكَانَ أَمْرُهُۥ فُرُطًا wa-iṣbir nafsaka maʿa lladhīna yadʿūna rabbahum bil-ghadāti wa-l-ʿashiyyi yurīdūna wajhahu wa-lā taʿdu ʿaynāka ʿanhum turīdu zīnata l-ḥayāti l-dunyā wa-lā tuṭiʿ man aghfalnā qalbahu ʿan dhikrinā wa-ittabaʿa hawahu wa-kāna amruhu furuṭan And keep thy soul content with those who call on their Lord morning and evening, seeking His Face; and let not thine eyes pass beyond them, seeking the pomp and glitter of this Life; no obey any whose heart We have permitted to neglect the remembrance of Us, one who follows his own desires, whose case has gone beyond all bounds. |
(18:41) | أَوْ يُصْبِحَ مَآؤُهَا غَوْرًا فَلَن تَسْتَطِيعَ لَهُۥ طَلَبًا | aw yuṣbiḥa māʾuhā ghawran fa‑lan tastaṭīʿa lahu ṭalaban | "Or the water of the garden will run off underground so that
thou wilt never be able to find it."
Sura al-Kahf 18:41 أَوْ يُصْبِحَ مَآؤُهَا غَوْرًا فَلَن تَسْتَطِيعَ لَهُۥ طَلَبًا aw yuṣbiḥa māʾuhā ghawran fa-lan tastaṭīʿa lahu ṭalaban "Or the water of the garden will run off underground so that thou wilt never be able to find it." |
(18:67) | قَالَ إِنَّكَ لَن تَسْتَطِيعَ مَعِىَ صَبْرًا | qalā innaka lan tastaṭīʿa maʿiya ṣabran | (The other) said: "Verily thou wilt not be able to have
patience with me!"
Sura al-Kahf 18:67 قَالَ إِنَّكَ لَن تَسْتَطِيعَ مَعِىَ صَبْرًا qalā innaka lan tastaṭīʿa maʿiya ṣabran (The other) said: "Verily thou wilt not be able to have patience with me!" |
(18:72) | قَالَ أَلَمْ أَقُلْ إِنَّكَ لَن تَسْتَطِيعَ مَعِىَ صَبْرًا | qalā a‑lam aqul innaka lan tastaṭīʿa maʿiya ṣabran | He answered: "Did I not tell thee that thou canst have no
patience with me?"
Sura al-Kahf 18:72 قَالَ أَلَمْ أَقُلْ إِنَّكَ لَن تَسْتَطِيعَ مَعِىَ صَبْرًا qalā a-lam aqul innaka lan tastaṭīʿa maʿiya ṣabran He answered: "Did I not tell thee that thou canst have no patience with me?" |
(18:75) | قَالَ أَلَمْ أَقُل لَّكَ إِنَّكَ لَن تَسْتَطِيعَ مَعِىَ صَبْرًا | qalā a‑lam aqul laka innaka lan tastaṭīʿa maʿiya ṣabran | He answered: "Did I not tell thee that thou canst have no
patience with me?"
Sura al-Kahf 18:75 قَالَ أَلَمْ أَقُل لَّكَ إِنَّكَ لَن تَسْتَطِيعَ مَعِىَ صَبْرًا qalā a-lam aqul laka innaka lan tastaṭīʿa maʿiya ṣabran He answered: "Did I not tell thee that thou canst have no patience with me?" |
(18:78) | قَالَ هَٰذَا فِرَاقُ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنِكَ سَأُنَبِّئُكَ بِتَأْوِيلِ مَا لَمْ تَسْتَطِع عَّلَيْهِ صَبْرًا | qalā hādhā firāqu baynī wa‑baynika sa‑unabbiʾuka bi‑taʾwīli mā lam tastaṭiʿ ʿalayhi ṣabran | He answered: "This is the parting between me and thee: now
will I tell thee the interpretation of (those things) over which thou wast
unable to hold patience.
Sura al-Kahf 18:78 قَالَ هَٰذَا فِرَاقُ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنِكَ سَأُنَبِّئُكَ بِتَأْوِيلِ مَا لَمْ تَسْتَطِع عَّلَيْهِ صَبْرًا qalā hādhā firāqu baynī wa-baynika sa-unabbiʾuka bi-taʾwīli mā lam tastaṭiʿ ʿalayhi ṣabran He answered: "This is the parting between me and thee: now will I tell thee the interpretation of (those things) over which thou wast unable to hold patience. |
(18:82) | وَأَمَّا ٱلْجِدَارُ فَكَانَ لِغُلَٰمَيْنِ يَتِيمَيْنِ فِى ٱلْمَدِينَةِ وَكَانَ تَحْتَهُۥ كَنزٌ لَّهُمَا وَكَانَ أَبُوهُمَا صَٰلِحًا فَأَرَادَ رَبُّكَ أَن يَبْلُغَآ أَشُدَّهُمَا وَيَسْتَخْرِجَا كَنزَهُمَا رَحْمَةً مِّن رَّبِّكَ وَمَا فَعَلْتُهُۥ عَنْ أَمْرِى ذَٰلِكَ تَأْوِيلُ مَا لَمْ تَسْطِع عَّلَيْهِ صَبْرًا | wa‑ammā l‑jidāru fa‑kāna lighulāmayni yatīmayni fī l‑madīnati wa‑kāna taḥtahu kanzun llahumā wa‑kāna abūhumā ṣāliḥan faarāda rabbuka an yablughā ashuddahumā wa‑yastakhrijā kanzahumā raḥmatan min rabbika wa‑mā faʿaltuhu ʿan amrī dhālika taʾwīlu mā lam tasṭiʿ ʿalayhi ṣabran | "As for the wall, it belonged to two youths, orphans, in the
Town; there was, beneath it, a buried treasure, to which they were
entitled: their father had been a righteous man: So thy Lord desired that
they should attain their age of full strength and get out their treasure -
a mercy (and favour) from thy Lord. I did it not of my own accord. Such is
the interpretation of (those things) over which thou wast unable to hold
patience."
Sura al-Kahf 18:82 وَأَمَّا ٱلْجِدَارُ فَكَانَ لِغُلَٰمَيْنِ يَتِيمَيْنِ فِى ٱلْمَدِينَةِ وَكَانَ تَحْتَهُۥ كَنزٌ لَّهُمَا وَكَانَ أَبُوهُمَا صَٰلِحًا فَأَرَادَ رَبُّكَ أَن يَبْلُغَآ أَشُدَّهُمَا وَيَسْتَخْرِجَا كَنزَهُمَا رَحْمَةً مِّن رَّبِّكَ وَمَا فَعَلْتُهُۥ عَنْ أَمْرِى ذَٰلِكَ تَأْوِيلُ مَا لَمْ تَسْطِع عَّلَيْهِ صَبْرًا wa-ammā l-jidāru fa-kāna lighulāmayni yatīmayni fī l-madīnati wa-kāna taḥtahu kanzun llahumā wa-kāna abūhumā ṣāliḥan faarāda rabbuka an yablughā ashuddahumā wa-yastakhrijā kanzahumā raḥmatan min rabbika wa-mā faʿaltuhu ʿan amrī dhālika taʾwīlu mā lam tasṭiʿ ʿalayhi ṣabran "As for the wall, it belonged to two youths, orphans, in the Town; there was, beneath it, a buried treasure, to which they were entitled: their father had been a righteous man: So thy Lord desired that they should attain their age of full strength and get out their treasure - a mercy (and favour) from thy Lord. (24:52) | وَمَن يُطِعِ ٱللَّـهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ وَيَخْشَ ٱللَّـهَ وَيَتَّقْهِ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْفَآئِزُونَ | wa‑man yuṭiʿi allāha wa‑rasūlahu wa‑yakhsha allāha wa‑yattaqhi fa‑ūlāʾika humu l‑fāʾizūna | It is such as obey Allah and His Messenger, and fear Allah and do
right, that will win (in the end),
Sura al-Nūr 24:52 وَمَن يُطِعِ ٱللَّـهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ وَيَخْشَ ٱللَّـهَ وَيَتَّقْهِ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْفَآئِزُونَ wa-man yuṭiʿi allāha wa-rasūlahu wa-yakhsha allāha wa-yattaqhi fa-ūlāʾika humu l-fāʾizūna It is such as obey Allah and His Messenger, and fear Allah and do right, that will win (in the end), |
(25:52) | فَلَا تُطِعِ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ وَجَٰهِدْهُم بِهِۦ جِهَادًا كَبِيرًا | fa‑lā tuṭiʿi l‑kāfirīna wa‑jāhidhum bihi jihādan kabīran | Therefore listen not to the Unbelievers, but strive against
them with the utmost strenuousness, with the (Qur'an).
Sura al-Furqān 25:52 فَلَا تُطِعِ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ وَجَٰهِدْهُم بِهِۦ جِهَادًا كَبِيرًا fa-lā tuṭiʿi l-kāfirīna wa-jāhidhum bihi jihādan kabīran Therefore listen not to the Unbelievers, but strive against them with the utmost strenuousness, with the (Qur'an). |
(29:8) | وَوَصَّيْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ بِوَٰلِدَيْهِ حُسْنًا وَإِن جَٰهَدَاكَ لِتُشْرِكَ بِى مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلْمٌ فَلَا تُطِعْهُمَآ إِلَىَّ مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ | wa‑waṣṣaynā l‑insāna bi‑wālidayhi ḥusnan wa‑in jāhadāka li‑tushrika bī mā laysa la‑ka bihi ʿilmun fa‑lā tuṭiʿhumā ilayya marjiʿukum fa‑unabbiʾukum bi‑mā kuntum taʿmalūna | We have enjoined on man kindness to parents: but if they
(either of them) strive (to force) thee to join with Me (in worship)
anything of which thou hast no knowledge, obey them not. Ye have (all) to
return to me, and I will tell you (the truth) of all that ye did.
Sura al-ʿAnkabūt 29:8 وَوَصَّيْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ بِوَٰلِدَيْهِ حُسْنًا وَإِن جَٰهَدَاكَ لِتُشْرِكَ بِى مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلْمٌ فَلَا تُطِعْهُمَآ إِلَىَّ مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ wa-waṣṣaynā l-insāna bi-wālidayhi ḥusnan wa-in jāhadāka li-tushrika bī mā laysa la-ka bihi ʿilmun fa-lā tuṭiʿhumā ilayya marjiʿukum fa-unabbiʾukum bi-mā kuntum taʿmalūna We have enjoined on man kindness to parents: but if they (either of them) strive (to force) thee to join with Me (in worship) anything of which thou hast no knowledge, obey them not. Ye have (all) to return to me, and I will tell you (the truth) of all that ye did. |
(31:15) | وَإِن جَٰهَدَاكَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن تُشْرِكَ بِى مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلْمٌ فَلَا تُطِعْهُمَا وَصَاحِبْهُمَا فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا مَعْرُوفًا وَٱتَّبِعْ سَبِيلَ مَنْ أَنَابَ إِلَىَّ ثُمَّ إِلَىَّ مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ | wa‑in jāhadāka ʿala an tushrika bī mā laysa la‑ka bihi ʿilmun fa‑lā tuṭiʿhumā wa‑ṣāḥibhumā fī l‑dunyā maʿrūfan wa‑ittabiʿ sabīla man anāba ilayya thumma ilayya marjiʿukum faunabbiukum bi‑mā kuntum taʿmalūna | "But if they strive to make thee join in worship with Me
things of which thou hast no knowledge, obey them not; yet bear them
company in this life with justice (and consideration), and follow the way
of those who turn to me (in love): in the end the return of you all is to
Me, and I will tell you the truth (and meaning) of all that ye did."
Sura Luqmān 31:15 وَإِن جَٰهَدَاكَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن تُشْرِكَ بِى مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلْمٌ فَلَا تُطِعْهُمَا وَصَاحِبْهُمَا فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا مَعْرُوفًا وَٱتَّبِعْ سَبِيلَ مَنْ أَنَابَ إِلَىَّ ثُمَّ إِلَىَّ مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ wa-in jāhadāka ʿala an tushrika bī mā laysa la-ka bihi ʿilmun fa-lā tuṭiʿhumā wa-ṣāḥibhumā fī l-dunyā maʿrūfan wa-ittabiʿ sabīla man anāba ilayya thumma ilayya marjiʿukum faunabbiukum bi-mā kuntum taʿmalūna "But if they strive to make thee join in worship with Me things of which thou hast no knowledge, obey them not; yet bear them company in this life with justice (and consideration), and follow the way of those who turn to me (in love): in the end the return of you all is to Me, and I will tell you the truth (and meaning) of all that ye did." |
(33:1) | يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّبِىُّ ٱتَّقِ ٱللَّـهَ وَلَا تُطِعِ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ وَٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ كَانَ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا | yā‑ayyuhā l‑nabiyyu ittaqi allāha wa‑lā tuṭiʿi l‑kāfirīna wa‑l‑munāfiqīna inna allāha kāna ʿalīman ḥakīman | O Prophet! Fear Allah, and hearken not to the Unbelievers and
the Hypocrites: verily Allah is full of Knowledge and Wisdom.
Sura al-Aḥzāb 33:1 يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّبِىُّ ٱتَّقِ ٱللَّـهَ وَلَا تُطِعِ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ وَٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ إِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ كَانَ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا yā-ayyuhā l-nabiyyu ittaqi allāha wa-lā tuṭiʿi l-kāfirīna wa-l-munāfiqīna inna allāha kāna ʿalīman ḥakīman O Prophet! Fear Allah, and hearken not to the Unbelievers and the Hypocrites: verily Allah is full of Knowledge and Wisdom. |
(33:48) | وَلَا تُطِعِ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ وَٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ وَدَعْ أَذَىٰهُمْ وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱللَّـهِ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّـهِ وَكِيلًا | wa‑lā tuṭiʿi l‑kāfirīna wa‑l‑munāfiqīna wa‑daʿ adhahum wa‑tawakkal ʿalā allāhi wa‑kafā billāhi wakīlan | And obey not (the behests) of the Unbelievers and the
Hypocrites, and heed not their annoyances, but put thy Trust in Allah. For
enough is Allah as a Disposer of affairs.
Sura al-Aḥzāb 33:48 وَلَا تُطِعِ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ وَٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ وَدَعْ أَذَىٰهُمْ وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱللَّـهِ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّـهِ وَكِيلًا wa-lā tuṭiʿi l-kāfirīna wa-l-munāfiqīna wa-daʿ adhahum wa-tawakkal ʿalā allāhi wa-kafā billāhi wakīlan And obey not (the behests) of the Unbelievers and the Hypocrites, and heed not their annoyances, but put thy Trust in Allah. For enough is Allah as a Disposer of affairs. |
(33:71) | يُصْلِحْ لَكُمْ أَعْمَٰلَكُمْ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْ وَمَن يُطِعِ ٱللَّـهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ فَقَدْ فَازَ فَوْزًا عَظِيمًا | yuṣliḥ la‑kum aʿmālakum wa‑yaghfir la‑kum dhunūbakum wa‑man yuṭiʿi allāha wa‑rasūlahu fa‑qad fāza fawzan ʿaẓīman | That He may make your conduct whole and sound and forgive you
your sins: He that obeys Allah and His Messenger, has already attained the
highest achievement.
Sura al-Aḥzāb 33:71 يُصْلِحْ لَكُمْ أَعْمَٰلَكُمْ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْ وَمَن يُطِعِ ٱللَّـهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ فَقَدْ فَازَ فَوْزًا عَظِيمًا yuṣliḥ la-kum aʿmālakum wa-yaghfir la-kum dhunūbakum wa-man yuṭiʿi allāha wa-rasūlahu fa-qad fāza fawzan ʿaẓīman That He may make your conduct whole and sound and forgive you your sins: He that obeys Allah and His Messenger, has already attained the highest achievement. |
(40:18) | وَأَنذِرْهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْأَزِفَةِ إِذِ ٱلْقُلُوبُ لَدَى ٱلْحَنَاجِرِ كَٰظِمِينَ مَا لِلظَّٰلِمِينَ مِنْ حَمِيمٍ وَلَا شَفِيعٍ يُطَاعُ | wa‑andhirhum yawma l‑azifati idhi l‑qulūbu lada l‑ḥanājiri kāẓimīna mā lil‑ẓālimīna min ḥamīmin wa‑lā shafīʿin yuṭāʿu | Warn them of the Day that is (ever) drawing near, when the
hearts will (come) right up to the throats to choke (them); No intimate
friend nor intercessor will the wrong-doers have, who could be listened
to.
Sura al-Ghāfir 40:18 وَأَنذِرْهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْأَزِفَةِ إِذِ ٱلْقُلُوبُ لَدَى ٱلْحَنَاجِرِ كَٰظِمِينَ مَا لِلظَّٰلِمِينَ مِنْ حَمِيمٍ وَلَا شَفِيعٍ يُطَاعُ wa-andhirhum yawma l-azifati idhi l-qulūbu lada l-ḥanājiri kāẓimīna mā lil-ẓālimīna min ḥamīmin wa-lā shafīʿin yuṭāʿu Warn them of the Day that is (ever) drawing near, when the hearts will (come) right up to the throats to choke (them); No intimate friend nor intercessor will the wrong-doers have, who could be listened to. |
(48:17) | لَّيْسَ عَلَى ٱلْأَعْمَىٰ حَرَجٌ وَلَا عَلَى ٱلْأَعْرَجِ حَرَجٌ وَلَا عَلَى ٱلْمَرِيضِ حَرَجٌ وَمَن يُطِعِ ٱللَّـهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ يُدْخِلْهُ جَنَّٰتٍ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ وَمَن يَتَوَلَّ يُعَذِّبْهُ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا | laysa ʿalā l‑aʿmā ḥarajun wa‑lā ʿalā l‑aʿraji ḥarajun wa‑lā ʿalā l‑marīḍi ḥarajun wa‑man yuṭiʿi allāha wa‑rasūlahu yudkhilhu jannātin tajrī min taḥtihā l‑anhāru wa‑man yatawalla yuʿadhdhibhu ʿadhāban alīman | No blame is there on the blind, nor is there blame on the
lame, nor on one ill (if he joins not the war): But he that obeys Allah and
his Messenger,- (Allah) will admit him to Gardens beneath which rivers flow;
and he who turns back, (Allah) will punish him with a grievous Penalty.
Sura al-Fatḥ 48:17 لَّيْسَ عَلَى ٱلْأَعْمَىٰ حَرَجٌ وَلَا عَلَى ٱلْأَعْرَجِ حَرَجٌ وَلَا عَلَى ٱلْمَرِيضِ حَرَجٌ وَمَن يُطِعِ ٱللَّـهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ يُدْخِلْهُ جَنَّٰتٍ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ وَمَن يَتَوَلَّ يُعَذِّبْهُ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا laysa ʿalā l-aʿmā ḥarajun wa-lā ʿalā l-aʿraji ḥarajun wa-lā ʿalā l-marīḍi ḥarajun wa-man yuṭiʿi allāha wa-rasūlahu yudkhilhu jannātin tajrī min taḥtihā l-anhāru wa-man yatawalla yuʿadhdhibhu ʿadhāban alīman No blame is there on the blind, nor is there blame on the lame, nor on one ill (if he joins not the war): But he that obeys Allah and his Messenger,- (Allah) will admit him to Gardens beneath which rivers flow; and he who turns back, (Allah) will punish him with a grievous Penalty. |
(49:7) | وَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّ فِيكُمْ رَسُولَ ٱللَّـهِ لَوْ يُطِيعُكُمْ فِى كَثِيرٍ مِّنَ ٱلْأَمْرِ لَعَنِتُّمْ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ حَبَّبَ إِلَيْكُمُ ٱلْإِيمَٰنَ وَزَيَّنَهُۥ فِى قُلُوبِكُمْ وَكَرَّهَ إِلَيْكُمُ ٱلْكُفْرَ وَٱلْفُسُوقَ وَٱلْعِصْيَانَ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلرَّٰشِدُونَ | wa‑iʿlamū annā fīkum rasūla allāhi law yuṭīʿukum fī kathīrin mina l‑amri la‑ʿanittum wa‑lākinna allāha ḥabbaba ilaykumu l‑īmāna wa‑zayyanahu fī qulūbikum wa‑karraha ilaykumu l‑kufra wa‑l‑fusūqa wa‑l‑ʿiṣyāna ulāʾika humu l‑rāshidūna | And know that among you is Allah's Messenger: were he, in many
matters, to follow your (wishes), ye would certainly fall into misfortune:
But Allah has endeared the Faith to you, and has made it beautiful in your
hearts, and He has made hateful to you Unbelief, wickedness, and rebellion:
such indeed are those who walk in righteousness;-
Sura al-Ḥujurāt 49:7 وَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّ فِيكُمْ رَسُولَ ٱللَّـهِ لَوْ يُطِيعُكُمْ فِى كَثِيرٍ مِّنَ ٱلْأَمْرِ لَعَنِتُّمْ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱللَّـهَ حَبَّبَ إِلَيْكُمُ ٱلْإِيمَٰنَ وَزَيَّنَهُۥ فِى قُلُوبِكُمْ وَكَرَّهَ إِلَيْكُمُ ٱلْكُفْرَ وَٱلْفُسُوقَ وَٱلْعِصْيَانَ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلرَّٰشِدُونَ wa-iʿlamū annā fīkum rasūla allāhi law yuṭīʿukum fī kathīrin mina l-amri la-ʿanittum wa-lākinna allāha ḥabbaba ilaykumu l-īmāna wa-zayyanahu fī qulūbikum wa-karraha ilaykumu l-kufra wa-l-fusūqa wa-l-ʿiṣyāna ulāʾika humu l-rāshidūna And know that among you is Allah's Messenger: were he, in many matters, to follow your (wishes), ye would certainly fall into misfortune: But Allah has endeared the Faith to you, and has made it beautiful in your hearts, and He has made hateful to you Unbelief, wickedness, and rebellion: such indeed are those who walk in righteousness;- |
(58:4) | فَمَن لَّمْ يَجِدْ فَصِيَامُ شَهْرَيْنِ مُتَتَابِعَيْنِ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يَتَمَآسَّا فَمَن لَّمْ يَسْتَطِعْ فَإِطْعَامُ سِتِّينَ مِسْكِينًا ذَٰلِكَ لِتُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّـهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ وَتِلْكَ حُدُودُ ٱللَّـهِ وَلِلْكَٰفِرِينَ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ | fa‑man lam yajid fa‑ṣiyāmu shahrayni mutatābiʿayni min qabli an yatamāssā fa‑man lam yastaṭiʿ faiṭʿāmu sittīna miskīnan dhālika lituminū billāhi wa‑rasūlihi wa‑tilka ḥudūdu allāhi wa‑lil‑kāfirīna ʿadhābun alīmun | And if any has not (the wherewithal), he should fast for two
months consecutively before they touch each other. But if any is unable to
do so, he should feed sixty indigent ones, this, that ye may show your
faith in Allah and His Messenger. Those are limits (set by) Allah. For those who
reject (Him), there is a grievous Penalty.
Sura al-Mujādilah 58:4 فَمَن لَّمْ يَجِدْ فَصِيَامُ شَهْرَيْنِ مُتَتَابِعَيْنِ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يَتَمَآسَّا فَمَن لَّمْ يَسْتَطِعْ فَإِطْعَامُ سِتِّينَ مِسْكِينًا ذَٰلِكَ لِتُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّـهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ وَتِلْكَ حُدُودُ ٱللَّـهِ وَلِلْكَٰفِرِينَ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ fa-man lam yajid fa-ṣiyāmu shahrayni mutatābiʿayni min qabli an yatamāssā fa-man lam yastaṭiʿ faiṭʿāmu sittīna miskīnan dhālika lituminū billāhi wa-rasūlihi wa-tilka ḥudūdu allāhi wa-lil-kāfirīna ʿadhābun alīmun And if any has not (the wherewithal), he should fast for two months consecutively before they touch each other. (68:8) | فَلَا تُطِعِ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ | fa‑lā tuṭiʿi l‑mukadhdhibīna | So hearken not to those who deny (the Truth).
Sura al-Qalam 68:8 فَلَا تُطِعِ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ fa-lā tuṭiʿi l-mukadhdhibīna So hearken not to those who deny (the Truth). |
(68:10) | وَلَا تُطِعْ كُلَّ حَلَّافٍ مَّهِينٍ | wa‑lā tuṭiʿ kulla ḥallāfin mahīnin | Heed not the type of despicable men,- ready with oaths,
Sura al-Qalam 68:10 وَلَا تُطِعْ كُلَّ حَلَّافٍ مَّهِينٍ wa-lā tuṭiʿ kulla ḥallāfin mahīnin Heed not the type of despicable men,- ready with oaths, |
(76:24) | فَٱصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تُطِعْ مِنْهُمْ ءَاثِمًا أَوْ كَفُورًا | fa‑iṣbir li‑ḥukmi rabbika wa‑lā tuṭiʿ minhum āthiman aw kafūran | Therefore be patient with constancy to the Command of thy
Lord, and hearken not to the sinner or the ingrate among them.
Sura al-Insān 76:24 فَٱصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تُطِعْ مِنْهُمْ ءَاثِمًا أَوْ كَفُورًا fa-iṣbir li-ḥukmi rabbika wa-lā tuṭiʿ minhum āthiman aw kafūran Therefore be patient with constancy to the Command of thy Lord, and hearken not to the sinner or the ingrate among them. |
(96:19) | كَلَّا لَا تُطِعْهُ وَٱسْجُدْ وَٱقْتَرِب | kallā lā tuṭiʿhu wa‑isjud wa‑iqtarib | Day, heed him not: But bow down in adoration, and bring
thyself the closer (to Allah)!
Sura al-ʿAlaq 96:19 كَلَّا لَا تُطِعْهُ وَٱسْجُدْ وَٱقْتَرِب kallā lā tuṭiʿhu wa-isjud wa-iqtarib Day, heed him not: But bow down in adoration, and bring thyself the closer (to Allah)! |
